  1. Arhats....

Well, I have been reading Master Nan's Diamond Sutra and he spent a good portion in talking about Buddhism in general. He brought up the topic of arhats. Supposedly, an arhat has to under go 7 rebirths in order to reach full enlightenment. As you reached closer to your 7th rebirth, your habit energy would lose its clinging power. He even talked about it is possible for "anyone" can be living in their 3rd or 4th rebirth because one may find oneself more interested in nature and outdoor life style. Or one may find there are more things important in life than wealth, money, career, and women. Or someone just not really interested in the cyclical and repetitive nature of our worldly existence because they understood them in early age. I do wonder if I were once an arhat. I have one dream in which I remembered that I was a monk in a lecture hall. I was with other monks. There was this Indian guru talking about something. He asked us if we can see the vase on the table with our third eyes. So, everyone is trying to see this vase on the table with their third eyes. I saw a half empty white vase on a white table. And I told him what I saw. He then said that I didn't see the white vase on the white table. Is one of those Diamond Sutra principle of non-clinging. I was confused for the moment and then I became self conscious of my being. I looked down at myself and realized that I was wearing the robe of an abbot monk. I woke up after that. I also had a dream about being persecuted as a Buddhist monk by certain Chinese emperor.
  2. free will is BS

Why the fuxk would you want to give human emotions to robots? You want to create a SciFi race of Cylons? Human-ness is the problem,...not the solution. As for your imagined experiences...experience born of belief, can only be experienced through the condition of that belief. Your posts indicate to me, that you have not once in this lifetime, had a direct experience. An important Lojong says, look at everything you perceive as a dream. The problem is that you believe the dream is genuine,..as in real. LOL
  3. Social Power

Agreed on opinions being personally important. I'm not sure the brain functions on duality, it does a lot of things at once. It is our little slice of brain we call me, that can be said to function in a perceived duality..but even that us just outmoded. If it's given thought, the duality of the mind is no longer a realistic view of the human cognition, though in old cultures it might have been but we've mutated an grown collectively since then. People seeking only positive really miss me off, they deny the other side of the coin and don't realize that all they are doing is building a wall up that will eventually collapse on them or those around them. The best points of view are a realistic view of what is there from a unbiased perception. It takes training but anyone can reach it and make it as functional as seeing with the eyes or smelling with the nose. I don't think much unless I need to calculate things. I had an experience an my mind stays calm all the time, unless I deliberately put it to use. Quick example, say your name in your head. Then ask what is your name. The you saying your name is your deliberate consciousness. When you ask the question a second time, if you get any reply back, that's the subconscious mind. Most random thoughts come from the subconscious mind, mine shut up years ago. Not reviewing your life, leaves lingering subconscious biases. If you unravel them by consciously delving into yourself, your mind will be free and clear and you might even retain consciousness after death instead of becoming like most dead people. Kind of weird incomplete beings, who don't retain all that they are. Very similar to Alzheimer's patience, which I've had experiences with them both. Death is like when you dream, except it's more perma. Where you blast off too at death, you stay there til your 'juice' runs out. Five years of five hundred, depends on your bioenergy that's seeped into your spirit at the time you die. Anyhow it's a weird world we live in.
  4. In defense of the "I"

Hi GIH, I respect you and your opinions. It is just that sometimes we have different opinions on specific subjects. This does not make either of us wrong - only different. And I am sure you don't want to be me and I am sure I don't want to be you. Yes, I equate 'my' existence with 'my' physicality. You say this is a bad mistake. I say it is no mistake at all. We disagree on this point. This should have been very clear because V. has mentioned this to me at least seven times and each time he has mentioned it I have suggested that it is more likely that he is deluded. I rely on 'my' own standard of physicality. I do not rely on what others say. If "I" do not exist "I" cannot dream. It is just that simple in my mind. If "I" do not exist "I" can do nothing. The fact that "I" can dream is an indicator that "I" exist. The fact that "I" am placing "my" fingers on this keyboard and pressing various keys is an indicator that "I" exist. However, I can dream, both while awake and while sleeping and imagine all sorts of things. Yes, imagine! That is the important word: imagine! We should not confuse our imagination with our reality. This is called being delusional. And it is just fine that "you" have the opinion that "I" am greatly deluded. But "you" should understand that "your" opinion has absolutely nothing to do with "my" reality. So there "you" go. BTW I do like the way you used the word "I" in this phrase: but I still think you're greatly deluded. Peace & Love!
  5. In defense of the "I"

It seems you equate physicality with existence. Bad mistake. What is physicality to you? I have a feeling that you rely on a non-standard definition of physicality. When I appear as a dream body inside a dream, do I exist, even though the dream contents are not physical? You can think of me what you want, but I still think you're greatly deluded.
  6. Kundalini

You should have seen the stuff I saw when my channels finally opened up and that is because they are not officially all open up enough. I remember reading some where that the soul is sort of like a pipe that needs to be cleansed from past karma and boy did I have some past karma. I saw numerous under-worlds, pyramids, the devil on a throne, I saw a pyramid made of skulls, plenty of free masonry stuff. I am not to sure if it was all mine or I was consciously cleansing the karma of others, as I was meditating a lot. My third eye is open for sure. Funny thing is I had a dream this morning concerning the Shakti of a male. I saw it in the dream. The male side of the Only one side was open and was flowing with numerous colors of light. I told him that he needed to embrace his feminine side as well. When I told this other male this, I found my body becoming flush with vibrant energy, a bit of ecstasy to say the least. I found myself meditating in a make shift room with a bunch of random people there. There was some kind of altar with candles and a bald male meditating there as well. There were others meditating as well. I found myself then talking to a white older female about esoteric teachings and about being devoted to the Goddess. When talking to this older female I felt sexualized and a rush of sexual energy flooded my body as well, but I did not feel "HORNY" I felt calm and peaceful. I felt no need to penetrate this older women, I felt acknowledged, loved, and grounded. Taking a look at this beautifully breasted female, you will see both side of energy at play: It is said when the female side is embraced, one can become highly intuitive and physic to the touch. Which can drive a male crazy and can cause some females great depression. Not to sure what the male side does. http://www.yogatantrameditation.com/tantra-meditation-healing/types-of-tantra/kundalini-tantra

Here's what I take into FS consideration (one can get very deep into that or keep it very shallow, with many in-betweens.) Ming gua (personal trigram) orientation. This is the single most important FS factor to consider (if we start inside, that is... of course the orientation of the whole house and the outer landscape features will take precedence, but few people these days start out with getting the larger FS right if they aren't Donald Trump). We all fall into 2 major personal trigram categories, East or West, and for the East group there's four auspicious directions (out of the 8 of the bagua) which, for the West group, are not, and vice versa. E.g., mine are West, Northwest, Southwest, Northeast. Of these, my ideal sleeping direction is Northeast, i.e. with the top of my head pointing in that direction when I'm lying in bed. Not doable in my bedroom, alas. So three remain to choose from (and none of them are North or South or East, mind you, so the "generic" advice of this nature doesn't apply.) Protection against sha' qi. This includes not lining up your head with your toilet (wherever it may be) -- if unavoidable, put some large rocks in between (in front of the toilet), they will break up the sha' of this unlucky feature, at least to an extent. (I believe the expression "shit for brains" came into existence simultaneously with indoor toilets -- the flow of the shit qi into one's head may be what's responsible, at least partially.) No visible mirrors in the bedroom -- qi bounces back and forth between the mirror and whatever it reflects and never settles. My mirrors are in the bathroom and on the inside of a wardrobe door. No lining up your head with the door or the window. Vis a vis the door you must be sleeping in the position from which you can see it unobstructed, otherwise your unconscious mind will be on partial alert throughout the night (it knows that it can't know if someone -- a stranger, an up-to-no-good stranger! -- is coming in while you're sleeping, so it won't relax completely). For the same reason, the bed must not be too high or too low (the unconscious mind reads both positions as insecure.) No tall pieces of furniture at the foot of the bed or anywhere in that direction. This is from the Five Animals rule. You have Snake in the center -- that's where you want to be -- Tiger to the right, Dragon to the left, Turtle in the back, Phoenix in front, and the arrangement of any room follows these rules by imitating these "animals" (types of qi actually) with pieces of furniture "shaping" your room's qi a certain way. So, your Dragon must be higher than your Tiger, your Turtle must be sturdy (that's the headboard in the case of the bedroom -- it has to be solid), and your Phoenix -- that's your dream-body, and it has to be either something very light or nothing at all in that direction, so that your Phoenix has an unobstructed passage to fly into dreaming. It flies out forward and up, sometimes with great impatience (like certain caged birds would the moment you open the cage), and if there's a tall piece of furniture in its way, it can bump into that. (Not terrible for an adult, merely dream-thwarting... but a child with this kind of bedroom arrangement is almost guaranteed to break an arm at some point.) Other sha' avoidance considerations -- overhead beams (must be covered, their qi chops down like a cleaver and the health of any body part under such a beam may suffer), and if you have vaulted ceilings... well, if it was me and I had vaulted ceilings, I'd move. So, FS of the bedroom (like any other) starts with avoiding or neutralizing problems, and then it proceeds to enhancing auspicious qi. I would definitely start with phase 1, and then it's all fun and games.
  9. Intuition and Logic.

It's because we see first-hand how important the contents of the mind are. You're using a computer to say this. The computer is product of mind. That's just one example. Ah, but the very same flimsy evidence supports the thesis that what you call "physical reality" is real. It's not fair to look critically at one side of the equation but then look favorably on another. Look equally critically at both, or look equally favorably at both, and see what happens. It's not easy to break the stereotypes. Expectations of cultures, the cultural norms, those are not trivial to ignore or to manipulate. Most people want to preserve their dream personality while in the dream too. If you're dreaming that you're being chased by a monster, don't you run away in the dream? People fear the dissolution of what it is they believe they are, and this "what it is they believe they are" does not have to be physical, and I will say, it's not physical. So this preservation instinct has nothing to do with physicality. It's like a painter who wouldn't enjoy another painter walking up to her favorite painting and splashing some paint on it. The fear isn't physical. It's a fear of losing identity.
  10. Longest period of Meditation!

It's just 14 days but Universal Healing Tao has programs- https://www.universal-tao.com/dark_room/enlightenment.html "Overview of the Dark Room Retreats Using a Partner System the first few days will be used to make up for any sleep deficiency and to relax the body from its daily concerns. Sleeping 12-14 hours a day, will promote healthy amounts of melatonin. We will practice 2 hours of Simple Chi Kung and CNT and Thai massage will be available. Fresh juices and soup will be served for breakfast and an organic meal in the afternoon. All food will be light and easily digestible and all service provided by Tao Garden staff with night vision goggles. We will commence the Kan and Li practices and gradually increase levels of orgasmic and compassionate energy. When you reach a certain point you will begin to hear the cells and DNA making love or coupling. On the 7th, 14th and 21st. evenings, you will be able to leave the Dark Room Retreat through a reflexive tunnel. You will go outside slowly, wearing your own sunglasses. It is important to wear them all of the next day, until you gradually get used to the light again. The Condominium Buildings will be converted into an air conditioned dark room environment with a central meeting and meditation room. All exterior windows & doors will be sealed with sound & light proof paneling. Dark Room Enlightenment Program DAY 1-3 Complete isolation from external light causes the pineal gland to flood the brain with the neurotransmitter melatonin. 3 days of Internal Darkness and Sleep Therapy - During these 3 days one has the chance to catch up on all the lost sleep that has occurred over the last few years. This stage cannot be over emphasized, with regard to its importance in the overall process. Christ spent 3 days in the caves near the Dead Sea, utilizing this metamorphic process, which is conducive to a very gradual death of the ego. DAY 3-5 The pineal gland starts to increase the production of 'pinoline', whereby a greater fluidity of thought and healing of the body starts to occur. This period allows for transition, wherein numerous meditations will be carried out, which will incorporate projection of the energy body and astral travel along with (Iron Shirt) Chi Kung. DAY 6-8 At this stage the pineal gland starts to produce the neurohormone 5-MeO-DMT. This psychoactive tryptamine is highly luminescent; it is also extremely phospherescent due to the amount of phosphene that it transmits onto the visual cortex. The neuro transmitter 'akashon' is normally only active when we are in the womb and in the first months of our lives. It is now reactivated in the darkroom. 5-MeO-DMT switches on 40% more of the cerebral cortex and awakens the nervous system to become aware of itself; 'beingness' results. Hence, the possibility of metaprogramming the nervous system's bio-computer - activating healing and conflict message assortment of the nervous system. 5-MeO-DMT is the empathogenic neurotransmitter that expands the emotional body between 'infinity and zero'. It gives rise to telepathy in the emotional and intuitive bodies. It engages the awakening of the 'Flower Of Life', the spine, which begins to glow in a state of beingness and peace. Many exercises will be practiced during this period; compacting Chi, consciousness and awareness into the nervous system, working with the Silent Self and anchoring the Immortal Body. 5-Meo-DMT discharges the darkness from the darkroom. A bright light will be activated. This Great White Light, the manifestation of the astral body, enables the self to project externally. At this point, some degree on 'N-Methyl-D-Aspartare Inhibition' (NMDA-I) usually occurs. This is a 'soft form' of the slowing of the glutamate input signals into the cells. This makes it easier for the nervous system to cause electrons to stop flowing within the cells, allowing for profound meditative trance states. The 5-MeO-DMT prepares the nervous system, through its empathic state of being and self awareness of the nervous system, for the DMT or dimethyltryptamine production of the pineal gland, in psychoactive milligram dosages. DAY 9-12 There is now enough 'Mono Amine Oxidase Inhibition' triggered by the pinoline, to allow the pineal gland's 'serotonin to melatonin cycle' to be intercepted by adrenaline and ephedrine activity and converted into a 'serotonin DMT pathway'. When DMT levels reach more than 25mg, one's experience can become very visual. DMT is the visual third eye neurotransmitter. It enables the energy body and spirit to journey into hyperspace, beyond third dimensional realms of time and space. It is intensely energizing. At this stage of the Dark Room Retreat, the required amount of sleep tends to diminish dramatically. Although the day may last 24 hours, 3 hours of sleep can seem like 12. During this period we will engage in further practices; psychic games and interactivity, Taoist Dream Yoga (advanced levels) and Imagination Expansion. CONDITIONS Each person will sign a form of consent, whereby they acknowledge responsibility for the 'self', in entering into 7 or 14 days (to be specified in application) of light isolation. They will confirm that they are free from mental illness or any other delicate health condition, that they are over 18 years of age and that they agree to stay for the full duration of the specified period, without interrupting the process for others." I believe they have a few reviews from people who've done it. Somewhat psychedelic as dreams and wakefulness merge and I believe some can't make it through the whole two weeks. I'm sure its pretty intense and hard at times.

I wonder Small Dream. If in the future an Indonesian went past John's level and re-opened the school to westerners if he could look into your heart and soul and see who you are, what you have done, would he judge you worthy of his time and effort? Or would he realize hey this guy is going to create a whole bunch of drama for me and our school online? I wonder Jiang's successor could do the same, how would that end for you?
  12. Intuition and Logic.

I will realize a tree is real because I'll walk into it? because there will be a sensory response to it? do you think the physical body is real too? because you "feel" it? i'm not saying that the 'world' is an illusion, well I am.. except i'm saying that the illusion is dependent on mind. i'm saying that it doesn't exist as you think it does, in fact mind creates the world entirely because everything you experience is dependent on mind. it is conditioned, your whole reality is conditioned. everything is dependent on mind as a necessary condition, without that condition its just potentiality. that's because you don't understand phenomenology, it's only illogical because you hold onto assumptions as axioms. the assumption that 'objects as representations' exist independent of your perception. http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/phenomenology/ wow, I thought you studied Nietzsche? you're going to hold a Descartian view of cogito ergo sum ??? Fred totally rips apart that fallacy since the 'I' is inferred, there are just thoughts... where's the I? if it is 'you' that thinks. then.. stop your thoughts, right now. stop them.. and see what happens when you try. the 'I' is just another thought, yet more subtle than conscious thoughts. the 'I' is just a conditioned thought just like every other thought and action. that's why there is no such thing as free will because every thought is conditioned and there is no "I' separate from those conditioned thoughts that is doing anything. what is 'head' and 'computer desk' ? they exist only as ideas dependent on mind. there's truly no such thing as 'head' or 'computer desk' I'm learning Nietzsche from a Logician/Metaphysician who himself wrote a book on Fred. My professor is a smart dude, http://www.ericsteinhart.com/ and he teaches the subject very practically. there's no room for interpretation in our class. If you don't see the similarities between Nietzsche, Buddhism, and Taoism in terms of the dream-like reality of this mind-created world, then you don't understand any of the 3 philosophies. Nietzsche went to great lengths to show that our whole reality is a delusion, the brain has evolved for the role of survival.. not truth, we are programmed for error.. this was his "theory of errors". The belief that things exist as you perceive them is as false as a belief in a God living up in the clouds judging everyone. Nietzsche wrote so much about this topic, how all the 'sciences' only provide theories not actual explanations because they rely on the senses. to see truth is to face the abyss, which is the absurd, the illogical. you have to go against intuition and what 'seems right'. for Taoism its the same thing, take Zhuangzi and his metaphor of the butterfly. or other Mystics from every tradition. they all refer to this reality as a dream that must be woken up to. in essence that means that everything you perceive to be true is false. all beliefs and intuitions are false. the only way to awaken from the dream is to let go of perceived notions of 'what is real' and embrace the absurdity that everything you hold to be true is actually false including the belief in an 'I'

Covered by Jim's text, made available by Small Dream in his PPD. He talks about concentration and emptying the mind, but not to the degree that later students talk about.
  16. Long men pai nei gong and mo pai

You can certainly do that, and it will take much longer, as it is a less efficient way of doing things. I am not saying to wait till retirement, only that meditating an hour at a time and sitting and breathing is accomplishing 2% of what being in actual meditation would accomplish because this is what John himself said. We present Jim's instruction unaltered, which by the way is not the same document Small Dream has provided, not that it matters. We also present this as well as private instruction from Kosta: https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/44486-long-men-pai-nei-gong-and-mo-pai/?page=46#comment-778937 These are quotes from Kosta's book the Magus, quoting John directly: “In Level One you fill up your dantien with yang ch’i. You must be in actual meditation to achieve this, and it is time dependent." "Perhaps in one hour of sitting, he is actually in meditation for 1.3 minutes. That means he is meditating only 2.2 percent of the time, which means that if he sits for one hour a day, he needs ten years of training ..." "Meditation is like the borderline between sleep and waking, between consciousness and unconsciousness.” "I will enter total meditation—like the borderline between sleep and waking, okay?"

Hancock just do it and try and quiet your mind while you're doing it. You will be building up energy as you do. It will come to you taking notes is not the way to go because real knowledge comes from experience. So do it and see what you learn as you learn it. Spring Forest Qigong is what I'm talking about moving yin and yang, small universe etc. Plus do the emotion stuff I talked about, do some dream thinking, get a solid practice going, be celibate etc

Small Dream, It is also true that John Chang himself said that sitting and breathing was not "actual meditation", and that a student sitting and breathing for an hour a day would take 10 years to fill the LDT. That sitting and breathing is approximately 2% as effective as "actual meditation". I guess it depends if you want to put a lot more time and effort into something than necessary. Can you sit and breathe and fill the LDT in 10 years at 1 hour per day, yes you certainly can.
  22. What does this mean?

Sometimes if I talk to my ex, i absorb a TON of negative energy if im not strong enough. She suffers from mental disorders and is on medication. It can HAPPEN through a PHONE.CONVERSATION and so afterwards i must purify. It is so strange. I also notice I absorb a lot of negative energy from a close relative I live with. When they are in my presence, they shut down and hide in their room and smoke. Sometimes their anger effects me and i absorb it. However if i am 14-21 days in my.cultivation or celibacy it hardly effects me. I sat down next to an addict guy in.the coffee shop. He got all fidgety and left. I dont drink, smoke, eat sugar and i am.celibate aside from the monthly wet dream I spent 6 months in deep meditation and celibacy and believe i opened some channels. Like I can sense when my.step father. Has headaches and such.
  23. Nietzsche Quotes

Here's one of his, from "On Truth and Lie in an Extra-Moral Sense" Deception, flattering, lying, deluding, talking behind the back, putting up a false front, living in borrowed splendor, wearing a mask, hiding behind convention, playing a role for others and for oneself — in short, a continuous fluttering around the solitary flame of vanity — is so much the rule and the law among men that there is almost nothing which is less comprehensible than how an honest and pure drive for truth could have arisen among them. They are deeply immersed in illusions and in dream images; their eyes merely glide over the surface of things and see "forms."
  24. Do you practice at midnight?

Most of the times, I go to bed late, around 11 pm or 12 am. The problem is usually that I would be busy with the computer and message boards. And my mind won't be mindful enough to meditate. I meditate before I go to bed but it is usually not as productive. Now, however, I wake up around 4 am to 5 am every morning, either because I have to go to the bathroom or from a dream. Usually, at this time, my dream is ridiculously lucid. My chi channels would become extremely active, hot feeling in body from the head to toes, intense chakras vibrations which I could hear internally, and seeing the chi pearl with my third eye.
  25. Why are people so TERRIFIED by a decentralized economy?

That's a tricky subject for most,...because the "heart" they think they receive from, is in the thinking that they are intouch with the Heart. right where it belongs See the animal in his cage that you built Are you sure what side you're on? Better not look him too closely in the eye Are you sure what side of the glass you are on? See the safety of the life you have built Everything where it belongs Feel the hollowness inside of your heart And it's all right where it belongs What if everything around you Isn't quite as it seems What if all the world you think know Is an elaborate dream? And if you look at your reflection Is that all you want it to be? What if you could look right through the cracks would you find yourself - find yourself afraid to see? What if all the world's inside of your head Just creations of your own? Your devils and your gods all the living and the dead And you're really all alone? You can live in this illusion You can choose to believe You keep looking but you can't find the woods While you're hiding in the trees What if everything around you Isn't quite as it seems What if all the world you used to know Is an elaborate dream? And if you look at your reflection Is that all you want to be? What if you could look right through the cracks Would you find yourself - find yourself afraid to see? Trent Reznor I'd love having lunch with Trent Reznor. How does he come up with such lyrics? “Inside your heart, it is black, and it’s hollow, and it’s cold. . . . What if this whole crusade is a charade in the name of the holy and the divine. . . Are you brave enough to see . . . or so naive you keep holding on to what you want to believe?” from Trent Reznor 'The Hand that Feeds You.' Those are surely some upsetting lyrics for those in denial and without the courage to stand consciously in the presence of reality. The author Jim Hightower suggested, “The opposite of courage is not cowardice; it is conformity.” That is where most get "heart" from,...conformity. The conformity of perception that they have nothing,...thus they must get it from those they perceive have it.
