  1. Lessons to be learned

That's why we are all here...in our 'journeying' to the Dao, the Source...until then experience multiple realities all at once. Physical/yang, dream/Yin, astral/emotional, mental/Mind, causal/karmic, and the spirit level which is the innermost layer that gives rises to the rest via the Mind. You are what you think. Now it is sad to see all the human suffering due to the institutionalisation of our society, which restricts the "spirit", stiffens the "liver" and people resort to various ways to overcome this (mind opening substances, various addictions, etc.) but in the end the are only deviating progressively further from the 'original nature/spirit' and learning little from past errors. It seems like a never ending journey as rebirth processes are long, 10-20 lifetimes probably for each big error and not always in a pleasant form. Existence is a terrific act for many 'souls' but I guess they are not aware of what is happening until their start to see things more clearly (wisdom through suffering and experience)...this can take up to several hundreds of lifetimes. I wish things were a lot easier for every single sentient being. This whole journeying is an agony, we quickly forget and start with a clean state after a new birth takes place...but memories are still there, stored in all the internal organs as karmas. In the meantime, just go with the flow. Probably for most of people posting here the life game doesn't sound too bad, does it? Peace and love to everyone...and 'happy' journeying. What matters the most is not what you do in the material plane but how well you manage to return to the 'original nature' and from there allow the opening to occur and return to the Tao. 2. How are the 5 aggregates (khandas/skhandas) suffering

I sometimes wonder about how necessary it is to do specific practices to cultivate the warmth vs simply allowing it manifest and blossom spontaneously. I've come across those to whom it seems to come easily and naturally. Some seem to have much more resistance. In the Mahayana, there are quite a few formal practices for developing this so I've got to imagine that the masters felt that the practices were necessary and valuable, at least for some. Cultivating bodhicitta has a very central role in the dzogchen methods both in the ngondro and in the more advanced, formal practice. Ultimately, the idea is that the bodhicitta is no longer a practice, but rather an expression of one's life. In my experience, the people who struggle with it tend to be those who are more focused on the intellectual study and not committed enough to the experiential practices. The key for me is the knowledge that I am the same as everyone else, on so many levels. All people want to be comfortable, secure, and avoid pain and other unpleasant experiences. There but for the workings of karma (or the grace of God, some like to say), I could be in any other person's situation. Everyone we meet has people who love them and that they love. Anyone could be our child, sibling, or parent. We all make foolish decisions. If you believe in reincarnation, everyone you meet has been your mother or son at some point. And so on... Most people are so deeply conditioned that they basically go through life like a robot, having very little possibility of waking up and making meaningful choices. It's like they're on a roller coaster and can't get off or change direction because they don't even know they're on it. So when they do something irritating or infuriating, I remind myself of the fact that they've not had the opportunity to awaken and grow beyond their social and cultural programming and I feel more sympathy and less anger. And it goes much, much deeper than that. We are truly and literally one indivisible organism-environmental system. No living organism has lived or will ever live outside of an environment. No environment is recognizable or identifiable as such in the absence of a perceptive organism. Not only do scientists recognize this but people who have direct non-dual experience do as well at an experiential level. Direct non-dual experience can lead one to absolute certainty regarding the connection of all sentient beings and this serves as the foundation of bodhicitta. If that happens, the day to day part is much easier. Otherwise, I do think there is value in the formal practices. The masters put a lot of emphasis on such practices so there's got to be some value there. I suspect that the more we practice these things, even if it feels artificial or contrived in the beginning, the more we become familiar with the real thing and the more like these things are to manifest in our lives. Beyond that, I think that it boils down to making the choice to be nice, be civil, be patient, and supportive. We can be as concerned with others achieving their objectives as we are at achieving our own. We can choose to serve others, rather than serve our own desires. So many different ways to work on this but it boils down to committing to the 4 immeasurables. First and foremost, accept them. They are unavoidable, at least for me, and I can only speak to what I know personally. Be kind to yourself when it happens, take it with a sense of humor rather than frustration. When I find myself worrying about something, I thank the narrator in my head for his concern. When I find myself getting distracted or carried along in my head for the thousandth time in an hour, I laugh at how ridiculously persistent that narrator is. When someone or something causes me to get off track, I remind myself that it has nothing to do with them, it is simply my misstep and an opportunity to continue to grow. One thing that can be very effective is to cultivate the ability to use the recognition of these 'destabilizations' as a cue. The first step of course is awareness, and once aware we simply need to reconnect and continue. The more habitual this becomes, the more quickly we are able to get back on track. If we link that cue to a specific practice, it can be very powerful. An example is the Tibetan practice of dream yoga. Not only is there a night time practice but the practice goes on 24/7. Throughout the day, whenever something generates a strong emotion or reaction we learn to use that as a cue to take certain measures that lead us toward becoming more effective in our dreaming practice. One way to practice this is these 3 steps: 1) recognize (that we have lost the connection), 2) reconnect (re-establish the mindful connection), and 3) continue (resume the practice, whatever that my be). Over time it improves but we really need some sort of fuel to drive that never-ending commitment, that's very challenging.
  3. Working with Destiny

This idea was originally conceived within a Geocentric model of the world. But I think it can still serve as an (at least partial) explanation for Astrology, with some modifications. The ancient assumption was that an individual's soul core descends from the realm of the fixed stars through the planetary spheres from Saturn to the Moon, thereby acquiring an astroeides ochema or astral vehicle. In each sphere, the soul assimilates a specific kind of ether, thereby dressing itself in layer upon layer of astral matter. (It's easy to see the connection with the concept of the astral body and subtle bodies in general, respectively.) At the same time, the soul is imbued with corresponding "virtues" and "vices", in the terminology of the ancients. It eventually reaches Earth and incarnates in a physical body. After an incarnation has ended, the soul returns to the stellar realm, shedding the layers of subtle matter one by one while it again passes through the planetary spheres. This idea was first described by Macrobius in his Commentary on the Dream of Scipio. I am enjoying yours, too!
  4. "In terms of benefiting yourself, when the time comes for your physical and mental aggregates to separate, you need the intention to shoot your consciousness like an arrow, straight to the target as you’ve planned. Without any hesitation, without looking back, take the attitude of looking forward to entering the pure land of Amitabha. As part of your motivation, look forward every day, as much as you can, to transferring your consciousness to the pure land. Also, whenever you practice, it’s important to increase your devotion. Devotion plants us firmly on spiritual ground and makes our realization grow and develop. Without devotion, the ground of our practice is shaky. If we’re not well-rooted, we can get blown off course. As soon as we’re confronted with a disruptive situation, if we don’t have strong devotion, our practice could simply fall apart. In order to make our life meaningful and fulfilling, we need to practice, and devotion is an essential ingredient. When you practice Phowa, cultivate devotion—particularly to Buddha Amitabha. Amitabha embodies all the buddhas of the three times and the ten directions. He is the embodiment of the dharmakaya, sambhogakaya, and nirmanakaya. Please feel in your heart that Buddha Amitabha is your true protector and support. While doing Phowa, meditate on yourself as Vajrayogini and feel the presence of Buddha Amitabha right above your head. Don’t see the place where you are as an ordinary place, but as a pure land. It’s the pure land of Amitabha, Guru Padmasambhava, Vajrayogini, and Yeshe Tsogyal. Bring all your outer perceptions and inner understanding back to the true nature, which is unaffected by dualistic thinking. Whenever we practice transferring our consciousness into the heart of Amitabha, at that moment we’re preparing ourselves to be in the pure land. We could think that Amitabha himself is the pure land. When we merge with his heart, we are in the middle of his pure land. When we practice full of devotion, longing, and confidence, we’re rehearsing and preparing to go there. We need the confidence that we’re going to his pure land so that we can keep moving forward on the spiritual path. We’re not going to be interrupted by the bardo. We’re making perfect preparations for the future. In our regular lives we make plans for the future—like investing in retirement funds, pension plans, and things like that. But this kind of preparation goes much further than a retirement plan. Preparing for Dewachen is very important and special. Please increase your courage and commitment to make this practice successful." ~ Venerable Khenpo Rinpoches The Essential Journey of Life and Death, Volume 2: Using Dream Yoga and Phowa as the Path (pgs 229-230)
  5. Not knowing who you are, or what you want...

Cheers for the advice Rob mate!! i'm fine now, it was a one day downer thing lol... to be honest i didn't know about the meditation/neigung thing in march.. very much doubt i'd be able to afford it anyway... i'll give alex a shout and see what the score is! Nungali, cheers to you too! very interesting what you say... my psychosis is solely based on 'false memory's' much like a powerful lucid dream... Peace
  6. Neidan vs Qigong

There's been several references to my comments so I will reply. Bluemind stated that the super-secret Neidan school dude was "arguing" with me about what Taoist Yoga meant. I have argued plenty times before - like when I was in graduate school at the U of MN I argued with the General Counsel at the University - in nine meetings that took place over a year. I won the argument. The super-secret Neidan school quoting half-sentences from the Taoist Yoga book is not an "argument" and so I have to disagree with Bluemind. The super-secret Neidan school not only resorted to quoting half sentences - the examples were a half sentence about the penis standing erect, a half sentence about generative force, and a false reference to farting - all three of those examples were then lied about. The lie about the penis standing erect was that it meant energy had been lost. In fact the rest of that sentence said to gather the energy when the penis is erect. The lie about the generative force was again that energy had been lost when in fact the rest of the sentence says the generative force changes to fluid which is lost. And finally the secret-super Neidan school claimed that Taoist Yoga says farting causes loss of energy - in fact the book says that farting is fine but that shen can be lost out of the anus - so just be careful you are actually just passing gas and not shen. That is not so crazy - the same information is discussed in Bill Bodri and Master Nan, Huai-chin's tome, "Measuring Meditation." So my question to Bluemind is - yes the super-secret Neidan school is super-secret but they have to resort to lying about other Neidan teachings. That is no longer super-secret. O.K. so then someone else commented that if I am so focused on spirituality then why did I have to write "penis" so many times? That is a logical error. I didn't write "penis" so many times - I was quoting the Taoist Yoga book which writes penis so many times. See the difference? Now I have seen on the advertised Neigong Forum that they agree that celibacy in itself is not essential to the spiritual training. Again the Taoist Yoga book completely disproves this by detailing the physiological reasons of how jing is purified into qi energy and so it is stored up and without constant attention it can also then be deconverted back into fluid. So for the Neigong people to say - yeah Mopai says just don't practice alchemy until 3 days after sex - this is silly. As Taoist Yoga details - you have to store up your jing energy for at least 3 months just to start filling up the lower tan tien. So once you blow that stored up load - it will be a big blow of load that has been deconverted. You won't even know that unless you do the training. For example I went 6 months last year without ejaculation - so I know from experience how much energy is lost. O.K. so - then also the super-secret Neidan school says yes qigong is o.k. to just restore your jing energy before you even start the "real" training. Wow - big news! (sarcasm). Again Taoist Yoga points this out in detail - there are different stages to the small universe practice. But the super-secret Neidan school thinks that 100 days of celibacy is enough (for immortality). What a joke! haha. Even the qigong courses also teach this 100 days foundation training. Yes before that the small universe is just building up "yin chi" and is not yet the "real" yang qi energy. Yes I know that most people never even reach the "yang qi" level. This is called Nirvikalpa Samadhi in Vedia Yoga and Vivekananda said the same thing - it is actually an advanced state that most people never reach but in actuality it is just the start of real meditation! I realize that qigong doesn't emphasize advance training - like I said Chunyi mentioned it once that I heard - saying no thoughts about sex are allowed for advanced training. That was in 2000. Obviously not many can hold that standard - just writing or talking about this subject goes against it. The real training is going to be done in silence in a purified environment. But then again - the real training is available for anyone who wants to do it. O.K. so then ZOOM shared his enlightenment energy experience and said that I could probably quote from Taoist Yoga to confirm his experience. Indeed Taoist Yoga shares a similar experience of the person's face seemingly falling back into his head, down into his body, and then he experiences the Tai Chi. So Zoom though insists that Taoist Yoga teaches in the first chapter that the energy is somehow "shot down" to the lower tan tien. Zoom has made this claim several times but he has never quoted from Taoist Yoga to back up his claim. I urge him to do so - I have no idea what you are referring to Zoom. In terms of the lower tan tien as the Cavity of Spirit-Vitality and the Cavity of Spirit as the heart expressed out of the eyes and the Cavity of Prenatal Vitality as the pineal gland - when we connect the latter two then the lower tan t'ien is created as a new energy center. So in your experience Zoom you say that the MING was pulled up to the upper tan t'ien based on the yang qi in the jing getting pulled out as a like-like principle - by focusing on the spirit light energy in the brain. So in Western science a good analogy for this is a laser that resonates based on frequency of light - so you create the same frequency and then there is a feedback as a harmonic oscillator and through resonance the laser builds up in amplitude intensity - the number of photons increase, just like pushing a swing, the increase in amplitude is from the timing of the pushing (or in this case the immutable thought that goes into the Emptiness as Taoist Yoga teaches). If the light is a higher frequency then the frequency energy intensity increases, etc. In terms of the lower tan t'ien - it is created out of the Cavity of Vitality which is below the abdomen. ZOOM referred to the lower tan t'ien as below the abdomen but in fact the lower tan t'ien is behind the abdomen. So the cavity of Vitality is the stored up yin jing energy that is ionized by the Cavity of Spirit fire descending - the yin chi converts the yin jing into yang jing or yin chi. This in turn is pulled up, yin chi, sublimated into the pineal gland as the Cavity of Prenatal Vitality which then turns it into yang chi as light energy - yin shen - which is seen internally in the brain. This, in turn, increases the spirit of the heart, the Cavity of Spirit - the yin shen, which in turn has more yin chi energy to better convert more of the yin jing energy into yang jing (yin chi). So that is the positive feedback loop of energy creation. So that is the cycle of alchemy - how it works. So Zoom then referred to how other traditions just focus on light in the third eye as enough. This is true but the problem is that it can cause kundalini syndrome because too much energy stuck in the brain and Taoist Yoga even refers to this - saying when the qi rises up from the heart into the brain it causes too much energy for the person. This can work from the top down also - for example Poonjaji shot shakti energy into a young Western male - shakti being the shen laser energy - and the man was running around for a couple days in a manic state screaming that he was Jesus. That is detailed in the memoir of Poonjaji, Nothing Ever Happens. So after that Poonjaji did not use as much energy. The same thing has been described by the qigong master - when I told him how he made the center of my brain on fire - he said that back then (in 2003) he used to use a lot more energy but then the original qigong master told him not to use so much. Whether Zoom had enough energy for his macro-psychokinetic experience - it is possible. My new blogpost describes the qigong master recently having some amazing macro-psychokinetic experiences. http://innersoundqigong.blogspot.com/2015/02/my-latest-greatest-with-qigong-master.html But what we have to realize is that when these enlightenment experiences happen as a taste of what Taoist Yoga calls "positive spirit" - yang qi, yuan qi, yin shen energy - they in fact are a nondual experience that fills the body with strong electromagnetic energy and also moves the spirit out of the body. So the answer to this is to store the energy better in the lower tan tien. As the small universe practice focuses on - the lower tan tien is the safe store battery of the body and so for example in chapter 11 of Taoist Yoga it states that if your yin shen spirit leaves the body without enough yang qi enveloping it then this causes dizziness. I had this happen to me but at the time I didn't understand why - (the dizziness is actually a spacetime vortex) because I never thought I could experience something described so much later in the book. So I had not studied the book well enough that far along into it. haha. So then readers of ZOOM's statement said yes but he needed to stabilize that experience - or as the super-secret Neidan school said about another person reporting the opening of their small universe channels - there needs to be a permanent transformation. This is true - it is true for whether it is qigong training or neidan training. Those are just terminologies - they don't change the actualities on the ground. As the original qigong master says - there first has to be a foundation built up in the lower tan tien - as the foundation for the higher frequency energy. This stuff (the N/om of the belly as the fire hot electromagnetic snake energy) has been going on since the original human culture that all humans arise from - the Bushmen in Africa have a N/om snake energy statue that some date back to 70,000 BCE) - all the males were required to undergo the spiritual energy training and it is the same as the Neidan training. haha. But the thing to remember is that original the spiritual energy was used to heal the females. It's only that some males went off by themselves to store up their energy and by doing so developed the yang shen abilities - to shapeshift into lions, etc. So then the rest of the tribe became afraid of these males. Then from that origin, alchemy spread into Egypt from Ethiopia - but that is its original roots. It was picked up by Arabic culture based on the ancient Greeks studying in Egypt and then also it spread into India, China, etc. but obviously its original roots are in Africa. The point is that the energy development process starts from the Emptiness and ends in the Emptiness also - that is the nondual nature of it - it develops via the complementary opposite male-female principles expressed as body-mind transformation. So sure we can all hope to learn from the super-secret Neidan school but information is not much use without practice. Since this is a forum it's based on information sharing but the Neidan school remains super-secret (except for their necessary lies about qigong and other Neidan teachings). For me personally - Emptiness is infinite energy - if someone is dependent on attacking others to put them down - in order to raise themselves up - this is by definition not a nondualist approach to reality as being a win-win infinite situation. Instead it's a typical materialist Western dualist approach to reality. Against the Taoist Yoga book it's been said it contains a lot of practical information - but that on its own is nothing wrong. haha. People for the Neidan school have referenced the ancient Taoist teachers as the real lineage. This is true but then the Ch'an Buddhist debates with the Taoists record these differences which in fact are not really different - the nondualist foundation of the teaching remains and people can argue all they want about the fancy terms used in Chinese or whatever other language. haha. The Bushmen when they use their magical singing to induce the trance dance training - the words are almost always just mumbo-jumbo meaningless words. Chuang-Tzu makes this same point when he says that human language is no different than birds chirping or other animal noises that seem more or less meaningless to us humans. But as Taoist Yoga states - there is one type of dream that is real and not just a dream. Neidan can say that the small universe is fake - but the storing up of yin chi energy is measured by real results. So the only real way to test the validity of the Taoist Yoga book is to try it out - practice it and see what happens. But then again the standards are very strict so success will be rare. Is it dangerous? I suppose - as I've reported I made the errors that are warned against in the book. But I only learned of those errors by going back to study the book more - despite seeking out advice from the qigong masters. They indeed help me though - more than the book - because the qigong master actually cleared out all the bad energy - the lower emotional yin jing energy blockages I had sucked in through my perineum from people over about 8 years experience. The Taoist Yoga book refers to this as "bad air" that is taken into the body. But the good news is that with continued practice and persistence then the errors can be fixed and improved upon. I am working to do so. I don't have any regrets but has it been dangerous? Yep - I accidentally pulled a lady's spirit out of the top of her head - without touching her - and she bawled nonstop for at least 15 minutes. As the qigong teaches - it is good, better and best - why? Because again we are working from the nondual reality as the foundation of the teaching - call it whatever fancy Neidan term you want. haha.
  7. Not knowing who you are, or what you want...

oh man, i was hoping no one else would reply so i could ask for this to be deleted haha, embarrassing, was at a particular low point yesterday, but feel fine today! Songstan, that's great advice , cheers! i've been meaning to sort that out for a while now! will do bro! Nikolai1, thanks dude, actually i had a dream the other night where i was given a box with the label, 'knock from the unconscious' that when opened was a broken record or ekhat tolle reading the power of now... i have to take note of this!!! haha actually it wasn't women, it was a big bearded muslim guy at the checkout. I had no knowledge of kundalini at that time, it was only later i heard about all the esoteric stuff. I agree with your main message, to stay in the present thanks! about the drink, i did see a shaman about this... she came back with showing that it was me who sent a thought form into the drink which i drank back into myself... i've just had a hard time believing it... probably out of wanting to play the blame game etc and not being in the present! Rara, thanks mate! i've got a good support team right now, spiritual friends, tcm doc, etc etc am working with them to get grounded... have yin yang separation apparently. That was the thing, i ws supposed to go to a martial arts class yesterday,, until this massive downer hit me. Ok Soaring Crane, will do bro!! lol Thanks for help everyone... i'm still very embarrassed by my original post yesterday... i'm one of the lucky ones, shrinks =found nothing wrong with me last time, just a low mood... Peace out!
  8. Throwing Out The Subconscious or Unconscious Mind

I once thought that I had woken up from a dream but I was not sure. To find out, I tried to fly but I all I got was a hop. But then I saw the same person in two different places; I laughed when I realized that I must be still dreaming. That's when I woke up for real. Or so I think.
  9. Hi Marblehead, This is only true for people who think there is a difference between the waking and dreaming states. For me, the first step was the realisation that even broad waking reality has no intrinsic reality and is indistinguishable from a dream world. Then I realised quite directly in my own life the Chuang-tzu question about the butterfly - which was no longer a thought experiment but an actual reality. Both dream and waking states are contained within this higher consciousness. Then I no longer needed to 'wake up' to know that a dream is a dream. I am always aware of myself dreaming now. To dream for me is no different than being at the movies staring at a screen. The only difference between a dream and waking state for me now is that the waking scenes are longer and filmed on better quality film. I confess you a mystery to me Marblehead. You're not exactly an occasional visitor to these forums. Everyday you read people discussing just what I've written above, based on direct experience usually, and still you consider the fact that the distinction between dream and waking is 'the truth'. My point is: misunderstanding the true nature of consciousness is a serious business. if you are to understand your true spiritual nature, it is necessary that there are some serious changes in how we perceive reality. The everyday notion that there are grades of consciousness requires a fixed reality against which we can measure the clarity of our perceptions. Thus, a dream is considered unreal when compared to waking. But there is no fixed reality!! The only reality is our own Selfhood. Discovering this is liberation itself. The repetition of terms like unconscious vs conscious blocks this insight and is therefore spiritually harmful. Everything pops into our conscious mind. We can not consciously bring anything forth. Everything arises on its own which is why everything in reality is like a dream, or a dream is like reality. When you see this is the case your heart opens up and embraces it all. Nothing is real, nothing unreal...nothing is private and nothing is shared. Its so liberating...and then we are free to love and enjoy it all as if we did consciously bring it forth - because that's exactly how it feels! In waking and dream we have clues to the two aspects of the awakened consciousness we eventually reach. But you must stop considering them as qualitatively different states to get there. The brain is just a part of the dream. A pretty metaphor for the self. Enjoy it as a dream but don't take it too seriously outside of the dream. In the dream I feed my child dream food, and take care not to bang my head and damage my brain. Why mix up dreams? If in one dream you don't believe you can fly then don't try. The next dream, less than 24 hours later, will have a different storyline, different rules apply. If you believe you can fly, go fly! As for yourself - just be the guy who enjoys ALL the dreams! Best wishes, Nikolai
  10. Throwing Out The Subconscious or Unconscious Mind

I will attribute that to the flow of thoughts from the dream continuing while you are gaining consciousness after waking up. Yes, at that point in time we really don't know if we are dreaming or not. Schizophrenics are constantly plagued with that.
  11. Throwing Out The Subconscious or Unconscious Mind

Well, perhaps you misunderstood me or perhaps what I said is in conflict with your understandings. Am I really misguided and being spiritually harmful by saying that our dreams reside in our unconscious mind? You are never consciously aware that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. It is only after you have awaken that you "realize" that the dream was a dream. And spiritually harmful? Accepting the truth is spiritually harmful? WoW! And to inspirations: these are thoughts that pop into our conscious mind without consciously bringing them forth. That is to say, they arise on their own. This is similar to day-dreaming. Our conscious mind becomes inactive and our subconscious mind takes over - running here and there - without objective. Now, if you were talking about the brain, I would agree with you. The brain is a whole. But it has different areas that perform different functions. This is fact. If we lose one part of our brain other parts of our brain will try to compensate for the loss. But I still suggest that it is important for us to understand what part of our mind is functioning at any given point in time. If we dream that we can fly and say, "Hey! I can fly." then jump off the roof of a ten story building expecting to be able to fly we are going to be gravely disappointed.
  12. The deep significance of the placebo effect

Hi Brian, I've finally got time to reply to your long post. You had many objections so i'll have to be quite brief with each one: I deny that biochemistry is playing the causal role in a healing. Biochemistry is one of many valid paradigms within which to view the effects of Belief, but to view it as cause is untenable. The power of belief is demonstrated in the placebo condition, and it is also present in the active condition. Parsimony requires that we select one overarching cause, rather than take the belief that Belief for some reason falls into abeyance when the active pill is used. Trickery is deliberate deception. I've never asserted that. The belief that the medical/pharmocological industry has in their approach is sincere. I merely point out that there is a higher, truer perspective that few are aware of. I've never said this. There is a difference when the active is introduced, but this is because the active pill has greater power to influence the beliefs of the patient. They are different in colour, taste etc and these factors affect the patients state of mind. Most importantly, somebody somewhere believes in the active, and has negative belief in the placebo. Double and triple blinding has been proved necessary to reduce this, but it is impossible to eradicate it altogether. Yes that is my understanding, but tell me if I'm wrong. In the real world deliberate efforts are made to design the drug. Research has shown that giving a drug a name with a Z or an X in it makes it more effective, because these letters are associated with science and the future and progress. In the R&D phase the side effects of a drug are systematically scrutinised. Any hint of a side effect is seized upon, and these are then believed in more and more until there become part of the profile of the drug. Ethics require that these side effects are then presented as possible to the trial participants before participation. Although placebo produces side effects, they will more likely to appear in the active group because of the beliefs of the research team. These side effects will then enhance the active agent in the participant because they will feel the effects of the compound and this will produce the belief that they have taken something powerful. The concordance between their feelings and the warning before the trial will keep the participants believing that the scientists know what they are doing. The side effects therefore play a shared role in the healing. And they are not discovered after the fact but are investigated even at the animal trial phase. They are well known before the clinical trials which is the last phase and are basically about demonstrating costs against benefits for the sake of the consumer. Nowadays, the side effects for chemically related compounds are believed possible and so are in everyone mindset from the start. I addressed this is my last post. I am not calling for the end of medical science! I would happily donate to any research fund, I broadly speaking support the pharmaceutical companies. If they appear a bit cut throat i am sympathetic to the imaginable costs that go into R&D and just how astronomically difficult it is to get a drug to market. Pharmaceuticals are for the masses, and it is on behalf of the masses that I support them. But, when it comes to healing there is a better way for those few who are capable of it. But first they need to understand the deep processes that underlie medical science so as to loosen their belief. This is hard and requires traits that completely transcend intelligence, and are spiritual in nature. No, when we are unaware of something we become passive to somebody who is consciously aware of something. The beliefs of the guy who planted the LSD created the effects in the coffee drinkers. The LSD was incidental to the story, or worked only becuase the guy believed in LSD. Likewise, the could have got people tripping out, without the LSD but simply by saying 'OMG, did you drink that coffee cos I accidentally dropped acid into it'. If he was a good actor he could have got many people tripping out. Before self-realisation our knowledge is split up into conscious and unconscious. What is conscious we have 'ourselves', what is unconscious is had by 'other people'. When we become conscious of knowledge then it is ours to use to shape reality, and it gives us the power to shape that which is unconscious. This is how the LSD man gained power over the unwitting coffee drinkers. The people who were poisoned knew the presence of the CO unconsciously and were therefore vulnerable to all those who consciously declare CO to be toxic. The process of self-healing is therefore the process of raising all our unconscious knowlegde to the level of consciousness. This isn't as hard as it sounds because all the knowledge in the world is in fact pure ignorance and we can dispel it all, root and branch, by getting to the very false predicates of all this knowledge and raising it to consciosness. A self-healed person would not have been poisoned in this manner. They simply would have left the room, or known not to be there. Or, if forced, they would have tackled the widespread belief in CO toxicity and reversed it for themselves. Transmuted the warning conditions into safe ones. OK, I think that's pretty much it. I quite enjoyed your worldview speech and thought it had a certain amount of poetic power. But it didn't answer my question at all. I asked how the placebo works and you merely said that everything is connected energetically, and then something quite vague about how an electron is both a thing and a potential. i think you're on the right lines, but now actually bring it to the real world. All that you talk about is directly and concretely observable to the rightly orientated mind. You don't need to read lots of science books, you don't need to learn hard maths. You don't need to build microscopes or particle collliders. We don't need any further experiments to confirm anything. This science stuff is nice but you're following a lesser road. You're talking in tropes, metaphors. Realise it yourslef and you wouldn't dream of talking about Unity in such convoluted terms. You would not dream of being so abstract when you could use the everyday language of human experience. The intimate and direct fact that is reality is the thing you will emphasise first because it is the most obvious and the most helpful. But first, face up to the placebo! It is seriously difficult to make sense of it, but you must make the effort. Help me! Stop falling back on half-useful dogmas like laws of biochemsitry. Even if placebo cured only one in 100, then that should be enough to rouse the sincere seeker of truth from their dogmas.
  13. Emptiness

There are two approaches to sunya (emptiness). One is through thinking about how everything is inter-related and that the things you perceive (including yourself) only arise in dependence on other things as causes. Anything you can think of is made of parts, ephemeral and does not exist independently and autonomously. try to think of something that might exist out side of this and you can't really. So the conclusion is that every thing lacks a 'self' ... that is lacks a separate, individual, eternal, autonomous core or essence. From this you can get the idea that reality comprises a chain of causality where things appear to arise and cease in a state of mutual interdependence. Beyond this is the realisation of emptiness. This is the non-dual realisation sometimes called ultimate bodhicitta (awakened mind). Reality here is compared to a dream or a magical display, your perceptions on examination are found to lack solidity and the true nature of mind (as being empty) is revealed. This is beyond words really so it is hard to say more than this. But thinking about interdependence of things helps give you the right view to support access to this realisation.
  14. "Every form of meditation must be based on our bodhichitta motivation and our awareness of original purity. These two are always essential. Bodhichitta is the foundation, and awareness of original purity is the inner structure of every practice. Watch out for distractions, such as wandering or discursive thoughts. These are a great hindrance to meditation. Keeping your spine straight, maintain a comfortable posture and let meditation deepen into a calm and clear state. Stay one-pointed, do not be distracted by conceptions, and continue maintaining your mind this way, whatever you’re meditating on. That’s basically it. As Guru Padmasambhava said, “No distractions, no grasping, and free of all aspects.” These three qualities are essential to every form of meditation. Right motivation and joyful effort are also indispensable. During meditation you will be faced with obstacles, clinging, compulsive thoughts and feelings, and other hindrances. To stay on target, meditate without distraction in the limitless expanse that transcends any territorial focus, the all-pervasive nature. Relaxing into this awareness is meditation. Gain mastery of both generation and completion stages. The division of meditation into creation stage and completion stage practices is unique to the schools of Vajrayana Buddhism. These are the means for becoming firm and strong in our meditation. Creation stage, or visualization practice helps us to understand the purity of all phenomena, including ourselves, so that everything is perceived as the buddha mandala. This mandala is not a solidly existent thing. It’s like a reflection, a mirage, a dream, or a rainbow. It is a wisdom display of clear light, the luminosity aspect of the true nature. Even in shorter Zhitro practices, all phenomena appear as the mandala of the peaceful and wrathful deities, and these deities dissolve into rainbow light; all speech and sounds are mantra, and all momentary thoughts are magical emanations of the open sky, space-like nature. This understanding characterizes the creation stage meditation. This means that you are relatively free of clinging, holding, and grasping to self and phenomena, and that you are skilled at merging with the true nature beyond all bias and limitations, where no dualities exist. Relaxing into this state of innate purity is known as the completion or perfection stage practice." 15. 100 days of practice (martial arts/qigong) challenge; prizes involved :D

I've got 6 objectives each day (maybe 6D? ) that i check off as i go. one of which i cannot check off until the next day. Every morning, i attempt to write down my dreams; or as much as i can remember, i record my dreams and check that one off. [x] Dream Every day i spend as much time as i can meditating, either with conscious intent (american) or with complete emptiness (genuine). i dont always check off that box even if i do meditate. i try to only check it off when i am clear minded and reposed in emptiness. However, if i have consulted the Yi Zhing about anything, i will accept thought-meditation and check it off if i feel i've come upon a revelation or clarity. [x] Meditate I'm finally getting back into the habit of morning stretches first-thing-first (or second if i dreamed ) [x] Stretch [ ] Circles: I havent been walking the circle every day, and i am working toward filling this box every day. on days i do less than 15 minutes (my personal mandatory minimum) i'll put a small dot in that box to indicate i fucked with it even if i didnt work with it. [x] Fan Zhang: I've gotten pretty good at getting my mandatory minimum of 15 every day. but i still have a lot of days i miss. and the last one might not even be necessary - i am not really sure how much i need to - but for self-control practice, i attempt to retain. Semen retention is REALLY hard ( ) and i have only had roughly 2 out of 8 days of success, at best. But good god how much more energy on subsequent days after success... squandered
  16. Immortality in Daoist Alchemy

If you need to meditate all the time to become immortal then you won't really have an individualized personality anyway. It is like in Hinduism - the Atma (your personal soul) merges with Brahman (the impersonal God-soul). As Chunyi said - his body/mind is just an empty vessel for the healing energy to go through. It is the Emptiness itself that is doing the healing through him. So obviously the more you focus on the Emptiness then the less of an individual personality you have. This means the lower emotions are harmonized into "unconditional love" energy. For example Jim Nance said that Chunyi said watching t.v. causes too strong of blockages. Jim said that the internet causes too strong of blockages. So the advanced practice requires cutting back on what would be considered more individualistic types of information. Qigong master Yan Xin says an immortal is anyone who can go without food. So a ghost immortal - speaking from experience - is the ability to go without food but still being dependent on getting energy from other people - even if you also send out energy. The normal person does just become a ghost but as Buddhism teachers - if the person was good then they go to heaven and if bad they go to hell. What does that mean? If they are controlled by their lower emotions then they go to hell - because their spirit-vitality is stuck in the lower body. In Tibet the Buddhist monks actually feel what part of the body gets cold last - if the lower body gets cold last after death that means the person went to hell. Taoism is more focused on the immediate - so if a person is controlled by the lower body then they are in hell already while being alive. If you have a precognitive dream or vision it is more real with stronger perceptions than while being awake. So that means that physical reality is a type of lower astral realm already - a type of hell actually since more people are still controlled by their lower emotions. The original human culture focused on healing people based on the ghosts of the dead as the main cause of sickness since those ghosts are still controlled by their lower emotions and so they also spread sickness. So in that case it is a kind of self-reinforcing cycle of ghost pollution causing more humans to be controlled by their lower emotions to turn into more ghosts stuck on Earth, getting reincarnated into a lower emotional energy cycle of Nature. The original human culture required all the males to train to be spiritual healers of the females but the original spiritual masters were female since females are yang internally and Nature overall is female.
  17. Favorite Quotes from Buddha.

We train the mind such that it simply realises its own nature. As Jowo Jé Palden Atisha (982-1054 CE) states: “Of all that we perceive as forms and sounds there is nothing that does not arise in the mind. To realise that the mind is awareness indivisible from emptiness is the View. Keeping this realisation in mind at all times, and never being distracted from it, is Meditation. To practice the two accumulations (merit and wisdom) as a magical illusion from within that state is Action. If you make a living experience of this practice, it will continue in your dreams. If it comes in the dream state, it will come at the moment of death. And if it comes at the moment of death, it will come in the intermediate state. If it comes in the intermediate state, you may be certain of attaining the supreme accomplishment.”
  18. Ironically spending time looking at a computer screen and caring about others opinions and what they think is also a source of leakage. In the scheme of things are hours in front of the computer better or worse then an nocturnal emission? <at least the nocturnal emission gives us a really great dream>
  19. Strange feeling/experience.

This is what I have to say about the Kundalini energy experience. They belong to the realm of senses and Samsara. Sorry. If anything, the blissfulness one experiences with the energy belongs to the first jhana, or the first stage of Samadhi. Your mind becomes ecstatic about your sense of wholeness and that yang chi feeling burning through your body. By the fourth jhana, even the flow of chi in your body would stop. Your mind would no longer pay attention to it. So, don't get fixated on the kundalini energy because the blissful experience is supposedly to be temporary. For LifeForce, move on. Don't get fixated on these female deities. I saw Kali too (black skin with a wicked red tongue and multiple arms) and I and her were apparently having sex---like she was on top of Shiva. Hehehehe.... I wasn't fixated on her but I spent few weeks trying to understand her on the spiritual and conceptual levels. I believe I saw Tara too (female deity with multiple arms with a pair of scissors) but I associated her on the spiritual and wisdom levels. Apparently, she used a scissor to cut open a blanket which was over my head and to predict tragedies about to fall on humanity in 2014. I was crying in the dream because she was forcing me to see the world. 2014 was a tragic year for the world. Of course, did the Kundalini energy rise up naturally or were you using drugs at that time. This is important because a naturally occurring kundalini energy experience would indicate merit in your wisdom and mental thoughts. If induced by drugs, once the experience is gone and it will, your mind has nothing to fall back on.
  20. Throwing Out The Subconscious or Unconscious Mind

If LoA worked consistently some of us would be lottery millionaires by now. Still trying for that here. Nothing so far - but a boy can dream. If something works for you though DreamBliss then go with it and best wishes for all success to you on the journey.

  23. A Path To Enlightenment

Allinone, Yes, what you described above is “Avijja”… when we are little children we learn how to act like the adults around us by watching them, and doing what they do… we also watch children older than us and learn from them… we want to act like adults so we mimic their actions… even when we “play”, we play by pretending we are acting like adults…if adults get angry, we learn to get angry… if adults lie to each other, we learn lie to each other… if adults hit each other, we learn to hit each other… whatever we see and experience around us, we consider to be normal behavior… and our actions and reactions, and the emotions that they generate become automatic… our actions and reactions, and emotions that they generate are no longer controlled by our conscious mind, they are now controlled by the subconscious mind (our Citta)…we then forget that we learned these actions and reactions, and think that they are our “gut reaction” to the world around us…we no longer control what we have learned, it controls us… we have been brainwashed, and don’t even know it… this is what Avijja (delusion) is, and how it controls our conscious mind…this is why we need to purify the Citta (subconscious mind)… before we can reach “awakening”, and why enlightenment is called “awakening”… it is like awakening from a dream…that seemed so real that it deluded us… Dawg
  24. Being probed..maybe..

I have had a number of these type of experiences. I posted these on another forum but here you go "So I have just woke up from having some work done on me in dreamtime. The dream was normal at first but then veered off as they do into trans-dimensional dreamtime activity. So someone behind me is doing quick, light blows to points on my back , spine, then a kind of massage , I heard him say put heels down and he lifted me up and pulled me back , like he was straightening my back. The one thing I remember the most is at the end he blew on the back of my head (jade pillow) and that was it , it sent me way out and triggered full on eneregetics. I was semi conscious at this point lying spasming on my bed with energy shooting up my body. Wow ! That breath on the back of my head was serious ! Thank you who ever it was I never saw him , only felt him , got the feeling he was an old man. A few weeks back I felt a series of super fast light blows to my stomach , just under belly button but the thing with this was I was 100% percent awake which kinda freaked me ! They didnt hurt but it did freak me to know spirit can be so strong in this dimension. " Here is another one " So lately I have felt a kind of gnawing at my mingmen point when I am asleep and enter into multi-dimensional dreamtime. I assumed it was an inter-dimensional parasite of some sort which always seemed to try and latch onto the mingmen point for some reason ( energy , food ?) Last night it started again but had a different feel , I went along with it to get a better picture and a being of some sort was working on my spine , again with a sort of gnawing feeling like it was using teeth rather than hands. It spent a lot of time working on the point between my shoulder blades , then mingmen , then up and down my spine and all the while energy was moving up and down the full length of my spine. At one point I saw it and , well , it was the head of a dog on the body of a man , looked like a doberman. When I came out of the dreamtime experience I lay on my bed with the energy still moving up and down my spine for quite some time and let it do its thing. This creature had me intrigued as I have never saw anything like that before. Today I had a look on the net and to my utter surprise saw that there is a whole history of dog headed men , The Cynocephali and their culture from whole areas where they lived with reprots from Marco Polo and Colombus to Christian saints as ST Christopher was reported to be a dog headed man and we also have the Egyptians and Anubis which although some say is a jackal looks very simlilar to what I saw. There is so much history of these creatures it is quite unreal and there seems to be an increase in sightings of these beings , " and yet another "Last night I was lying in bed asleep on my side , dreaming , when these beautiful chimes began to play in my dream. I awoke to feel a strong presence behind me , my quilt began to move and pull back leaving me revealed , the energy from this presence was getting stronger and stronger , seriously projecting at my back. Once again I woke up ! hehe , in exactly the same position I thought I was already awake in BUT the energy was still running up my spine , really strong. This lasted for about 10 mins , I re did my shield and used the light sword to sever anything that may be attatched to my back but it didnt make any difference. "
  25. The following is a more or less life story as it stands; I will try to write it in a detail list format. 1.) When I was about 12 almost 13, one autumn night, I saw an orange orb through my living room's window, it is in the valley just on the other side of the hill where my parent's house was located. The light was so bright, that it shinned brightly through the windows like a flash light although it changed various colors, like that of fire, aka the light it gave off was very similar to that of fire. It remained there for about 3 hours, such that everyone in my family watched it, although I was the one that watched it the longest. The next morning we, my family, check that hill side to see if we could find anything to cause it, the valley although looked untouched. 2.) A few weeks later I randomly new a new language, something I have been trying to figure out since then. I have although detected, vowels within it, and other patterns. I have also, had people online looked at it and have various interpretations of it. Below this is a link to a video I made talking it in it. 3.) About 3 months later, while walking into the house at night, I saw a large shadow figure sitting in my parent’s car. This figure I would say was around 7 feet tall, and in what appeared to be medieval armor. It turned its head and looked at me, although no face was there, before vanishing. 4.) The next spring, while outside, about mid-day, I got the weird feeling to look upward, where up in the sky I saw the orange orb. This time, high up, in the sky, it moved across the sky before vanishing. Oddly, enough I also saw a jetliner which appeared to be at the same height as it. 5.) Two years later, I saw the orange orb again, although this time it was consumed in spinning clouds, once again giving off the orange light. The clouds, themselves, also had lightening coming off of them. Basically, it looked like a glowing orange cylinder of spinning clouds, with lightening going around its outside. At first I thought the orange light was caused by the sun, but as the sun dropped, the clouds continued to give off the orange light, my brother was also a witness to this appearance. 6.) After another year, while asleep I woke to a shadow pulling me up by the wrist. This shadow was not like the other, but smaller and thinner armed, much like the classical shadow. As it pulled me up I could barely move, but I was still able to talk although weakly, in which I spoke in that language I mentioned early, causing the shadow to vanish instantly. 7.) After this I had a series of dreams that the orb appeared in, as there are a few of them I will mention the main guise of them. The first set was in a massive desert with a red sky, and black clouds. There were no stars, or anything else, just the red glow. Furthermore, it was always windy and freezing cold, such that you were always freezing and you could never hear anything over the howling of the wind. The wind, itself, was filled with ash and sand, such that it filled your eyes, noise, mouth and ears, blinding you, taking way your sense of smell so all you could smell was that of ash and sand. This also dried out your mouth making you unbelievable thirsty, but you could have quench it. Eventually, with time you would be buried within these sands. The other set was in a place much like heaven, that being it had a light blue sky, with a few white clouds in it, once again no stars or source of light, it just seemed to come from the sky. The air, itself, was mild. It was in what looked like an ancient Roman/Greek city, that being the roads were made out of a white marble, as well as the buildings. There were a lot of people walking around in various clothing, all of them seemed very happy. There was also, a very very large marble building in the center; it had a large golden dome, a lot of pliers and stairs leading up to it, to the right of it was a garden full of colorful plants, many color shades I have never seen before on earth. 8.) Another two years past, where I had the following dream: It started in a small room; it had an old fashion glass window (the top is solid glass while the roll up part was three smaller planes separated by a dark brown wood), there was a no ceiling light or a small unnoticeable one, a cabinet made of wood and about four levels high, in the room there was also a wood chair with a cushion on it, a full body mirror, a small plain bed with a thin mattress, looked like one of those old fashion ones, it also had a blue sheet and a small worn pillow. Finally the floor was wooden, basically a pretty plain old fashion looking room. Anyway I woke up and stretched, I was wearing boxers and a white undershirt, and I walked around the room and looked out the window. Outside it was green and spring like there was a lot of a pine trees in a wall like a side of a forest and very green grass. Anyway I was on the second floor of a farm house sense next to me was a barn, white in color with a green black roof, down below there was a few pigs and other animals, it was slightly muddy and there was a small feeder with some hay in it. After that I looking outside I went and got my clothes off the top of the cabinet. They were brown and what not, anyway I put on my pants and my shirt. Then when buttoning it up I looked in the mirror to see if I looked good and I was Hitler, yet it didn't affect me I just keep buttoning up my shirt, and messed with my hair a little. Then a group of people (a look alike, a short guy in glasses and a grey shirt, a tall skinny guy, and a few others all in military suits) came in and we started joking around and talking about the Russians and what to do, but I wasn't listening for the most part just kind of joking around. Then we left the house walked out to the cars and drove towards the city in the distance. Then I woke up but I feel asleep again, where the dream started with me leaving in an aircraft looking down and seeing people fighting the streets on the outer parts of the town, and I was upset angry, since I had failed not only my people but myself. Then it jumped again and I was back at the city and this time with a candle light ceremony going now was I promised to a few other people that I would kill a 1000 of them for every one of our dead and it ended, with that promise. Now, since then I have researched it, and found that the clothes, even the boxers, furniture, etc match the era. As for the people I am still not sure who they are nor do I feel like looking through a bunch of Nazis to find out. And finally, the flight on the plane during the invasion has some connections to history, but never anything about him escaping. Now, I normally dream every night, and lucidly, so I know what those are like, this dream although seemed very abnormal, just didn't have the same feel to it. 9.) A few months later I awoke to my fan making a grinding noise, almost like a growl, it is a floor fan that has a blade cover on it. Therefore, as I awoke I believe the fan had simply fallen over, and therefore I turned on the light. Only to see that my fan had not fallen over, instead I saw the same shadow that picked me up the wrist pushing down on the fan cover, creating the noise, and pointing at my laptop. What was so odd about this, was at the same, before going to sleep I had post a question on yahoo answers asking about the previous mentioned dream, only to get ** answers. Therefore, I closed it and went to sleep, but it seems to me that shadow wanted me to ask again, so I did, and got at least a fairly interested response to it. 10.) Once again another two year break took place, before anything notable happened. What happened was about 1 am I saw the orange orb in the sky again. It remained in the sky for about 30 minutes such that I was able to catch it on my camera phone, although the quality was weak. As, it faded, it left a strange S shape in the sky with an orange glow of the orb. I would put the video here, but I lost it when I transferred phones. But, there is probably ways to recover it, I just don’t know how. 11.) Less than a month later, the orb appeared again. It remained in the sky for a couple minutes before vanishing. 12.) A year later I went through a series of abnormal events, the smell of something burning and when going to sleep something pushing down on my bed near my feet. There are many other strange events that happened that I have not mentioned as these seem to be the major ones, that being they lead to each other or are connected to one another. I am just curious your opinions on it. It seems the orb follows a standard two year cycle, which is fairly odd, followed by the shadows.
