  1. How does your garden grow? This season

There's said to be good eating on a rabbit. Our dogs love cooked rabbit. Decent sized bags of diced frozen rabbit ( from China) in the frozen foods shop and that's quite cheap. Never fancied it myself though and wouldn't dream of killing or skinning a fresh one at all. We don't get much trouble with rabbits as we've good fences and the cat is outside most of the time. Occasional fox after the hens, those lads can climb over fences.

Yep, that is how today we have hybrid super religion groups, all books and traditions mashed together to form a super new age, new world religion. From Laozi to jesus, Indian Dream catchers to Aborigional stories, somehow they are all related according to them, heh :\

  4. Spiritual career

Short answer, yes. Absolutely. Longer answer: it helps to specialize. The more you can offer the knowledge you're gaining back, the more people will support you in your dream. I suggest finding the most exciting area: is it martial arts? Nutrition? Superpowers? Something you can stay up late working on and get up early to keep working on. Go hardcore on this area as much as possible, doing anything to evolve your knowledge, whether it's forum rolling or reading books or going to seminars or waiting outside of seminars you can't afford to talk to people on lunch break about what they're learning... the idea is to advance your knowledge to be among the best in the field, and then go one step further. Learn the known field inside and out. Once you're at that level, every next step you go beyond that is a new innovation. If you think like that, you can become world class very quickly. The trick is to pick the most ridiculously exciting area, because it's going to take so much attention that it has to be fun to you, rather than work. If you can do that you will never need to "work." I wish my parents had taught me this when I was watching Highlander at 12 and pretending I was immortal. But I was able to gangster my way into doing this anyway on raw intuition. PM me if you're really serious, we can create a mastermind group and make it happen. Akatsuki style
  5. Spiritual career

That's the dream .... Butttt it doesn't happen without some serious commitment to either struggling through the system to save up a little nest egg for your retirement... Or... Winning the lottery. The only other option is to give everything up, if you don't want to teach for money. Almost every other spiritual "work" won't earn enough to be your main source of income, or will take up all your time and energy to the point that you don't enjoy it as much as you planned to.
  6. Just came back from the funeral service. Sorry about the rant since I can't blog this on my FB page. I have family members on it. Man, I love chatting with my lost, lost cousins and relatives of who I haven't seen in decades. I was mindful of myself and keeping my conversations with them to the minimum. It wasn't easy since all of them are married and doing quite well with their lives. What are we supposed to talk about? We didn't get along some 20 years ago and we won't be getting along now. I kept an open heart. Knowing what I know about the bardo experience, it is not even certain if my grandma's consciousness has been near her body or maybe she has already being reincarnated. Some are crying and grieving but if only they realized that they were grieving for themselves. The corpse...is just..nothing. Her consciousness isn't near her body at all. They did employ 2 monks to preform the bardo rituals. Again, I am not sure if that was even useful if my grandma's consciousness isn't with the her body anymore. Here is something interesting to think about. If the deceased consciousness has found the suitable means to be reincarnated (as a human or an animal), would the consciousness itself still attach to the former body. No, she didn't or wasn't able to become liberated in her bardo experience. I actually have a dream about her 2 days after her death. It was about her being thrown back to the cycle of existence and the suffering of the Samsara. I didn't see her in the dream but was able to acknowledge the level of merit of her entire life time. It was a poignant conclusion.
  7. I can assure you I am not mindlessly repeating empty claims devoid of any reason. I can also assure you that I am not a deluded brain-washed blind believer living in a dream world. I can also assure you that I could care less whether you take me seriously, nor what you think in general, as you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
  8. Spiritual career

Hello guys I have keen interest in spiritual/occult/esoteric teachings, anything mysterious, unknown Actually this is what I love, this what excites me and gives me thrill When I am sad, this is what makes me feel high, it makes me feel there is something unknown Its like this is my life I just love mysteries and unknown this is more exciting than girls hehehehe My wildest dream would be travelling the world learning and researching these mysterious things Like the hero of a fictional story Omg even this thoughts makes me feel so happy and excited I want to make this my career Is this possible ?? can you convert your interest of spirituality , into your career ?
  9. Yes, for this life at least, afraid i have to stick to what i do best. As mentioned, for me, its not a moral consideration, although in my daily life, i am mindful of alleviating the distress of even the tiniest of insects, and will not intentionally harm any, in fact, if i see a trapped insect, perhaps a fly that had fallen into a pool of water, or sometimes a worm may be found struggling on the tarmac, i will spontaneously scoop it up and gently place it somewhere out of harm's way. I know full well there are many that escape my attention, and many others do get killed as a result of my actions, for eg, driving at night would inevitably cause the death of thousands of insects, so to balance this, i will chant rounds of Mani mantras for those are killed. At this stage of my evolution, i am comfortable with having cultivated the habit of feeling a sort of urgency to help when i see suffering and try my best to ease that whenever possible, and as a result, this has sharpened my motivation aka bodhicitta. Im far from perfect in this, but at least, i try my best to keep my eyes open in the presence of sentient distress. I love dogs immensely, and sometimes tears would well up in my eyes whenever i come across wanton cruelty being laid upon these beautiful animals, and even other animals, for that matter. Down the road, i can see that a pensioner's ambition of mine would be to set up some sort of animal sanctuary where neglected or homeless animals can find shelter and get a decent amount of care which they deserve. Its a dream which may yet turn to reality. If it does, it will go some way to balance my karma.
  10. There is definitely a need for the teacher to analyze if the student is training right and progressing on their path, that is the point of the teacher-student relationship. The student cannot do that on their own. I'm sure many students come to false conclusions that they have recognized the natural state... however the actual 'natural state' is an animal that does not need confirmation is the only point I was making. Just like you wouldn't need someone to confirm that you had water thrown in your face... recognition of the nature of mind is a species of insight that is fully experiential and is endowed with an unshakeable certainty. Which is why it is referred to as a 'beacon of certainty' or a 'torch of certainty'. If one has even a shadow of doubt as to whether they have recognized the nature of mind, then they have not recognized the nature of mind. Valid knowledge of one's nature ensues from a doubtless epiphany tantamount to the feeling of waking up from a dream. That being said, there are surely many students who have not had that insight yet deceive themselves into believing they have indeed recognized their nature, for whatever reason. Some methods of direct introduction (i.e. pointing out instruction) involve explanation... an explanation would be an oral transmission. There is also symbolic and mind transmission. In any case it never has to do with supernatural or energetic hocus pocus.
  11. Thoughts about God

Separation from the source of creation is an illusion, dream, facade, a lie. but more believable - in general regards to civilization and selfish pursuits - than that we are all god.

The dream is a sham, not a reality - utter waste of reality, time, space, and existence. an imposition upon freedom that should not be allowed to exist.
  13. Standing in Water

Have any of you experienced water shiatsu? I was at a week-long Congress (a huge collection of every kind of energy therapist imaginable) and there was a water shiatsu therapist there. The place had a perfect indoor pool for it -- maybe 1.5M deep very warm water, quite large. It was a meditation and relaxation pool. In the session, you're given ankle and wrist floats, and a nose clip. You're on your back and the therapist guides you gently through the water, making swirling motions with your body. A little difficult to describe in text but wow, what an experience. There's a lot of wave/spinal movement involved in the therapy, and you're moving like a fish. It was years ago but I can still call up the feeling weightless floating... I was in a dream state, the most poignant moment was when I 'became' a sea turtle... Follow-up sessions cost like 150€ so I only ever did it the one time. But really, I think anyone with a decent feel for flow could do this with a friend and make it quite enjoyable.
  14. Heheeh...here is the thing....I was at my old job and she was my boss. I am not sure if I want my old job back. Or she may be implying that "in the future" I may be able to get my old self back. Funny though, this woman was involved in my other dreams (5 years ago) too relating to a business decision I was making in my old job. In this dream, I was at the bathroom and she just barged right in and floating around like a spirit literally and telling me I needed to hire more staff. At the moment, nothing is really happening in my life other than my family, the entire extended family with over several generations, are coming together and to make the funeral and burial arrangements. I hate family gathering here. A lot of times, it is like a big pissing contest. Here, I am expecting to see relatives I have not seen in decades.
  15. Interesting yes, usually you hear about either the front two death? being symbolic of that. I had a number of teeth fall out in a dream a couple of weeks ago and in their place grew psilocybin and amanita mushrooms, I was confident I could grow my teeth back haha. I haven't had such mushrooms in this life. I started eating them and got a super sweet delightful taste and woke up... hmm Hmm maybe it means the power of the mushrooms is within and I don't need to seek them elsewhere... (that just came to mind) haha Helps to share dreams, write them out etc. Did you get your old self back?

I agree with the puppet theory,...not that a Secret Government is controlling things,...but something more akin to Colin Wilson's Mind Parasites. I stand by my comment however,...that if Gore was President, 9-11 would not have occurred,...but 9-11did occur, and thus Gore wasn't suppose to be President,...even though he actually won. We cannot changed the past,...and every perceived moment is in the past. To look at it another way,...the beginning is intimately connected to the end,...just like film at a theater. We may not yet know the end, but just as in the theater, nothing you do during the middle is going to change the ending,...because in actuality, everything occurs at one time. If you could listen to all the frequencies on your radio tuner at the sametime, you'd have a better grasp of the whole dream.
  17. Whats in a name?

Maybe we are more who we aspire to be than who we were previously. Dream the impossible dream type thing. It is only in dreaming that we dare to go beyond.
  18. Is this astral projection? From my perception it sounds like daydreaming. I can daydream at will, but I know its just that, a dream.
  19. Neurosis / Enlightenment... Is one exclusive to the other? A question that is often bought to mind when studying prominent Occultists, Yogis, etc. more commonly from the ‘outside view’ yet, certainly at times, from the ‘inner view’ as well. This question was recently bought to light again while I was reading Gerald Suster’s book; ‘Crowley’s Apprentice – The Life and Ideas of Israel Regardie.’. p.90 ; “If neurosis could co-exist with the highest illumination, then Magic alone wasn’t enough. Psychoanalysis was perhaps an essential preliminary, even a necessary accompaniment. And if, on the other hand, neurosis and illumination were mutually exclusive, what on earth was one to make of Aleister Crowley?” [Aside: Not that I want to start up the debate about Crowley again! – well, not here. I ask that we at least agree that Crowley had some degree of illumination and at least some degree of neurosis. {Eg. On the first hand, I cite Crowley’s writings, system and tarot and on the other hand I quote Regardie (although there are numerous incidences) as his example demonstrates my point; Suster says when people visited Regardie and put Crowley down Regardie would demonstrate Crowley’s genius. On the other hand, if the person seemed unrealistically praising Crowley, Regardie would respond with a comment like, “Yes, yes, a shame though that the old boy couldn’t resist getting his women to shit on him as he lay on the floor.”.] Let’s go back a bit to the beginnings of when magic and modern psychology first met. I feel Regardie is the pioneer here – not the pioneer of the idea but a pioneer of applying a holistic practical blend of the two and using the result to help and treat himself and others. Regardie did extensive preliminary study before he took up the practice of magic. He encountered Crowley’s works and studied them and began putting them into practice. He then went to study directly under Crowley, but, ended up being his secretary. (Regardie was too shy or embarrassed to ask Crowley for magical instruction and appeared to wait for the ‘Master’ to approach him. Crowley assumed Regardie was practicing magic and meditating and would ask him a question if he got into difficulty. It appears there was no direct magicalcoaching.) Eventually there was a falling out, bought about by an outburst of Crowley neurosis (the defamatory and slanderous letter Crowley distributed about Regardie’s low-class and Jewish background). Later Regardie joined The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and studied and practiced there but also encountered the neurotic egos of the magicians involved in his group. http://www.amazon.com/What-Should-Know-About-Golden/dp/1561840645 He left the G.D. and concentrated on his own practices. Regardie then began studying psychoanalysis under Dr. E. Clegg and Dr. J.L. Bendit and trained in the Jungian system. Somehow Regardie avoided the trap and realized he himself had a neurosis and knew THAT had to be addressed BEFORE he could seriously and realisticly consider himself advanced in magic and illumination. One reason Suster gives for Regardie doing this is the primary Hermetic maxim; ‘KNOW THYSELF’, and that is also the purpose of psychoanalysis. [it appears Regardie had introverted problems where Crowley’s seemed somewhat the opposite]. Regardie underwent Freudian analysis and became a lay analyst. Then, when that was accomplished and understood, the 2nd principle could come – BE THYSELF. Regardie had noticed that in the schools of magic and enlightenment he observed many of the members and leaders had not addressed basic issues within their own selves from a psychological perspective, and in fact it can be observed that magical studies can actually accentuate these problems if the student does not achieve a preliminary balance. Freud had come up with some (then) radical notions; our conscious mind is only a small part of our selves, our motivations and our make up, what REALLY drives us, of which we are unaware, is our unconscious. Freud argued that we are really driven by instincts, just like animals are, and the strongest of these is sex, this drive Freud called the Libido. Freud also used dream analysis – the expression of the unconscious. Our uncoordinated instinctual desires Freud called the Id. These desires of the Id are repressed during our upbringing to mould us to whatever society we are in. This, in turn, creates a moralizing faculty Freud termed the Super-ego. The conscious mentation Freud called the Ego, which is continually trying to find balance and harmony between the Id and Super-ego. The Oedipus Complex, Freud said, was the result of infantile sexuality projected on to the mother and in later life the guilt from this became a type of castration complex (the Super-ego groping at ways to stop the Id expressing itself). This results later in life in masochistic tendencies in an attempt to relieve guilt and suffering by self punishment. (Or punishment and/or degradation at the hand of another.) Many have suggested that Crowley suffered from a similar neurosis [Apparently Regardie loved telling this joke; One Jewish woman says to another,” I have terrible news! My son – he’s just been to the psychiatrist and now he says my son has an Oedipus complex!” “Ach! Oedipus schmoedipus!” says the other one, “As long as he is a good Jewish boy and loves his mother.”] Now here we get to a crossroads and , I feel, an essential part in understanding the essence of Thelema (Crowley’smagical philosophy about the self and self expression and the purpose of individual incarnation) and how it can best be interpreted. Freud came to terms with the issue of Id / Super-ego by advocating sublimation, that is, he believed that the (dangerous?) energies of the Id and its desire to express its urges needed to be consciously directed to benefit society and be productive. Regardie had his doubts about this and, I believe, Crowley had virtually the opposite opinion. At this stage Regardie was still considering Crowley’s interpretation of how psychoanalysis slotted in with Thelema. “Professor Sigmund Freud and his school have, in recent years, discovered a part of this body of Truth, which has been taught for many centuries in the Sanctuaries of initiation. But failure to grasp the fullness of Truth, especially that implied in my Sixth Theorem (‘Every man and every woman is a star’) - and its corollaries, has led him and his followers into the error of admitting that the avowedly suicidal ‘Censor’ is the proper arbiter of conduct. Official psychoanalysis is therefore committed to upholding a fraud, although the foundation of the science was the observation of the disastrous effects on the individual of being false to his Unconscious Self, whose ‘writing on the wall’ in dream language is the record of the sum of the essential tendencies of the true nature of the individual. The result has been that psycho-analysts have misinterpreted life, and announced the absurdity that every human being is essentially an anti-social, criminal insane animal. It is evident that the errors of the Unconscious of which psycho-analysists complain are neither more nor less than the ‘original sin’ of the theologians whom they despise so heartily.” (Liber Abba). In some cases, and at certain times it appeared that Crowley related the expression of the True Will to the expression of the unconscious. (Without getting too deep into it here, examine the ideas behind his Thoth Tarot ‘Devil’ card.) But the True will implies more than following the unconscious and instinctual drives and forces, I believe there is an important link there but the issue is not as simple as one being the other. Crowley’s definitions of the True Will implied a specific incarnatory purpose or career, an expression of a specific individual genius and a learning and molding experience. The essential, to Crowley’s initiation system, at the beginning, is a structuralisation and formation of energies into their specific roles and places. The Expression of the True Will is not just blindly following your impulses or desires
or unconscious desires (desire being a conscious product of unconscious will), it is much more. This seems to be at the root of many peoples misunderstanding of the Thelemic concept of the True Will. Firstly, Crowley postulates ‘Every man and every woman is a star.’ That is their essential nature. When restrictions are removed the True Will shines forth. That’s one school of thought and relates to similar concepts such as put forward by Rousseau and those that advocated the theory that if you left man by himself his natural good qualities would emerge. The other school of thought was pretty much the opposite, acknowledging the power of the Id (or more correctly, the suppressed Id) they thought if you left man to himself he would revert back to an animal state. Their ideas were somewhat supported by scientific studies of feral children (small children bought up in the wild by wild animals. – But these studies have left out the social element, and man is a social animal, being a primate). Crowley’s ideas at some stage seemed to have played with the idea that the True Will was expressed by the unconscious desires and by following these one would get to the essence of the True Will, but he must have realized this was not enough, as evidenced by his other writings. Enacting his unconscious desires, not always in private company, seemed, for him, a way of dealing with his troubles
a type of therapy. Eventually one must realize that as well as the unconscious containing the root and drive of the True Will it also contains a whole lot of other stuff, depending on what type of upbringing we have had. And separating one from the other, in the depths of the unconscious is not an easy task (especially when science has shown that even things like memory can not often distinguish between real events, dreams and imaginings, laid down in the memory in the past). For Regardie, Freud’s lack of occult approach led him to delve into the ideas of Jung. Suster quotes James Webb; “Jung can be seen as the culminating point of the late 19th centaury occult revival. He put into a terminology to which those bought up on the new and exciting language of Freud could respond, the insights into the psyche which the occultists and mystics of all ages had once expressed intelligibly – but which had been veiled and to all intents and purposes lost by the development of a vocabulary of modern science that excluded the areas of experience of which they spoke
” Jung rejected Freud’s idea that the sex drive was THE primary force, he postulated 3 major drives; the will to live, the will to create (the sex drive), and the social or herd instinct. Later he added a fourth, the religious instinct, unique to humans which “
urges one to seek transcendental meaning in the data presented by life.” (Suster) Also Jung developed the idea of the Collective Unconscious, “
it is as old as humanity and contains our collective needs, fears and desires, it inspires all true art, and it is the realm of dreams and the repository of all the symbols of mankind.” (Suster). Now we are getting even closer to a magical world, here we have a concept like the Astral Plane, and contacting this plane had been done in Regardie’s system with exercises like ‘Scrying in the Spirit Vision’ to comprehend understand and adjust oneself within the ‘interior worlds’. Some Jungian therapy uses a very similar technique but Suster warns that they omit precautions against self-deception (apparently so did the G.D.?) Suster then goes on to describe certain parallels between magical and Jungian psychology. The idea of psychoanalysis is individuation, journey into the knowledge of the self and the Unconscious or underworld. The stages are, encountering the shadow or Id – The Dweller on the Threshold of Initiation (see the two figures either side of the Thoth Moon Trump), painful processes of self-realization and acceptance – Portal Grade, death of the illusory self and the ‘resurrection’ of a deeper individuality – The Adeptus Minor G.D. initiation (or any similar initiation). For Regardie all of this fair enough but what about the question of the Will? Freud saw it as one – the Libido, Jung saw it as four. Regardie saw many situations where these four could be at conflict, there had to be some overall moderating force. Also, in psycho-analysis where is the drive for a man to become MORE than he thought he could, to go beyond his previously foreseen potential. Magic seems good for that, but does it really create an absolutely stable base on its own?
  20. Is interesting. Don't need to express your condolences because it is not needed. I never have any attachment to her. It is even less, or non-existence, after I have found my Dharma gate at the age of 18. She was the one who initiated the cycle of Karma to my family. After my kundalini energy rising and to have penetrated the first skandha of forms, I felt like I have no family members, period. I still feel like I have no family members. I respect my parents because they didn't give me hard times when my life wasn't going well. I never want to see them suffer. Ironically, I have been persistently dreaming about this European old lady and she has a pair of blue eyes. In a way, I felt like she was my grandma that I never really have. Yet, I felt like I and her shared something deeper. This figure only showing herself after my "enlightenment" though, some 15+ years ago. The other day I dream of her and asking me "how would you like your old self back?" She said this because she was my "boss." Is interesting that 2 days ago I dream that my father was taking money away from me because he needed the money to fix my grandma's teeth. I was furious when I realized he was using my money this way. A teeth dream would often represent death in the family, especially dealing with dreaming about losing one's teeth. Because I have no attachment to her, I didn't dream of losing my teeth. Instead, I dream of her losing her own teeth (this may imply that her sons and daughters would not miss her much). And I was told that she just passed away today at the age of late 80s and she has terminal cancer. Great, I have to attend her funeral. This is the person who brought so much suffering, jealousy, and contempt to her family members. No, she never believed in the Dharma because she was still hording all of her material possessions. I doubt that she would leave anything for her Dharma warrior grandson (me). She was as mean as ever even to her home nurse. Sigh...... Wondering if I would see her spirit in my dreams......something I doubt since we have a completely different consciousness vibrational state.
  21. Japanese Death Poems

Some excerpts from the book, http://www.quietspaces.com/deathpoems.html: Gesshu Soko, died January 10, 1696, at age 79: Inhale, exhale Forward, back Living, dying: Arrows, let flown each to each Meet midway and slice The void in aimless flight -- Thus I return to the source. Goku Kyonen, died October 8, 1272, at age 56: The truth embodied in the Buddhas Of the future, present, past; The teaching we received from the Fathers of our faith Can be found at the tip of my stick. The story goes that when Goku felt that his death was close, he gathered this monk disciples around him. Sitting up, he gave the floor a single tap, said the above poem, raised his stick, tapped the floor again, cried, "See! See!" Then, sitting upright, he died. Hosshin, 13th century wrote: Coming, all is clear, no doubt about it. Going, all is clear, without a doubt. What, then, is all? Hosshin's last word was "Katsu!" which signifies the attainment of enlightenment. Sort of a spiritual "Eureka." Shoro, died April 1894, at age 80: Pampas grass, now dry, once bent this way and that. Sunao, died in 1926 at 39 Spitting blood clears up reality and dream alike. Senryu, died September 23, 1790, at 73: Bitter winds of winter -- but later, river willow, open up your buds. Kozan Ichikyo, died February 12, 1360, at 77. A few days before his death, he called his pupils together, ordered them to bury him without ceremony, forbidding them to hold services in his memory. After writing this poem on the morning of his death, he lay down his brush and died sitting upright. Empty-handed I entered the world Barefoot I leave it. My coming, my going -- Two simple happenings That got entangled. Senryu, died June 2, 1827 Like dew drops on a lotus leaf I vanish. Shinsui, died September 9, 1769, at 49: During his last moment, Shisui's disciples requested that he write a death poem. He grasped his brush, painted a circle, cast the brush aside, and died. The circle— indicating the void, the essence of everything, enlightenment— is one of the most important symbols of Zen Buddhism. Yoshitoshi, a printmaker who produced a series called "One Hundred Aspects of the Moon". His death poem reads: Holding back the night with it's increasing brilliance the summer moon. The death poem of Basho, one of the greatest haiku poets of all time: On a journey, ill; my dream goes wandering over withered fields. Zoso Royo died on the fifth day of the sixth month, 1276, at 84: I pondered Buddha's teaching a full four and eighty years. The gates are all now locked about me. No one was ever here - Who then is he about to die, and why lament for nothing? Farewell! The night is clear, the moon shines calmly, the wind in the pines is like a lyre's song. With no I and no other who hears the sound?

The spider symbol is also a recurrent theme of my. It isn't a harmful symbol to me. In fact, it is a protective figure. In one dream, the spider is the size of a car and it was attacking my old boss. Hahahaha......I was just standing there and watching it. In another dream, the spider was the size of a person and hanging upside down, inside a Buddhist temple. They were protecting all the monks there from the Chinese imperial army. Obviously, this was referring to some ages ago when Buddhist monks were persecuted.
  23. sometimes we wake from a dream and realize oh snaps it was just a dream and it was you who produced the whole dream and only you know about it you can know that when your body dies, you return to 1 with all life again and then you realize oh snaps, it was just a solid lifetime and it was you who produced the whole thing and its only you who knows about it . everyone and everything is here becuase you put them here. do you know you are projecting dream images when you are dreamimng ? sometimes do you know you are projecting solid life reality while you are living? sometimes the simpilest+ explanation is ALWAYS the most likely to be true+. so the most complex- explanation is ALWAYS the most likely to be false-. taomaster LOD, its more than a spectrum with 2 poles
  24. I think soul is here so much as waking self is in dream. Body and mind are made of same stuff. In my eyes it is perfectly logical to open all channels in body and realize true emptiness and turn body into a light or whatever appearance.
  25. Sleep Rotation

Most definitely. My sleep patterns have fluctuated wildly throughout my life. Though my sleep is stable these days, it shifts a bit depending if I'm working on a project or not. Used to be I would go to bed around 4am and wake up mid day. This went on for years. I was writing and performing for a few theater companies back then and the hours between 10pm and 4am were my most productive. It was natural. This was my mid to late twenties. More recently I'm waking up around 3-5 am. Which is beautiful. The quiet early hours of predawn are absolutely incredible. I love moving slowly, hearing the early morning birds and simply being in the hours when most everyone in my side of the planet is still sleeping. Over the last month, I've adjusted again. I've taken the summer off to be with my son and we fell into a natural pattern of going to bed around midnight. I spent a couple years in a self induced poly-phasic sleep pattern during college. The phrase didn't exist for me when I was practicing it, I just called them cat naps. The idea came upon me out of necessity and from having grown up living with cats. I started catching multiple short naps through the day and night and it worked great. Was married, working and living off campus, performing in 4-10 productions a year and graduated summa cum laude with two degrees. Of course, I was 22-23 so... could have done it on almost no sleep... Though it was during this phase of my life that my dream life became the most intense and vivid on a consistent basis. This led experimenting with various changes in sleep to help induce more lucid dreams and to enhance OBE exits. I really detest Descartes and the whole mechanistic Cartesian paradigm. Mechanical time to me, is a square corner, human illusion and an out of balance left brain disease.
