Tibetan book of the dead? Wasn't that a training manual for how to die and how to ensure rebirth in the 'chosen' family? After a strange personal experience (more strange dreams...) in which I helped a dying relative as he selected his next life, I looked into this a bit http://www.psychopomps.org/ because I wasn't by myself in the dream, the process was helped by a character I can only describe as a 'death midwife'. For myself, I have no idea.

We might want to consider what aspect of Dying he's looking to explore. Physical, afterlife, spirituality of acknowledgement, etc., Tao can be as slippery a concept as god. Rambling on.. How to die? I didn't know how to get born either. It just happened (as far as I know). Eating, drinking, sex..happens, I learn on the fly, follow nature, sometimes get advice from a friend or a book. Death is a great unknown. It's not a horse to be ridden, its ..the opposite of birth.(?) Without experiential reference we're trusting (blindly) in a religious or philosophical source. Living with a certain awareness and calm acceptance of death may be our best bet. Though there are practices such phowa, certain dream yoga and deep taoists practices that might give us trial runs at experiencing death. Or those practices might be complicated illusions we fool ourselves with. In any case, calm acceptance is the low fruit on the tree. Simple but not easy. Where ever ones inquiry leads, I think we have to pick that fruit first.

My experience with black energy is usually experiential in the waking state... It typically appears around people that are arguing with one another or are trying to argue with me. I do possess somewhat of a developed "extra" sight, and have questioned this phenomenon quite a bit. In my view, these "energies" are composed of mental energies. They have "ego" since there is ego essence in the mental excretions of human beings. Their "livelihood" (an ego-based construct) is dependent on emotional excretion from people "in body". When I see people get emotionally triggered or activated, often these energies will appear. If they are black/gray it typically accompanies a ramped up expression of "negative" energy. I had an experience in January where I was psychically attacked by these types of energies, since I did see them manifesting around me like a black/grey fog. A deep feeling of dread and hopelessness accompanied this experience, and eventually the psychic stimulation became such that the thought of self-termination crossed my mind. At this point I regained control of what was going on and started writing out all the thoughts I was having, such to read them back to myself. What I read was very much NOT an accurate expression, and I recognized and allowed myself to believe that I was in fact facing a psychic attack. In the dream state, these have appeared to me as well, but it never really set-in for me as "viable" until I experienced then in the waking state as well. Of course, when it comes to emotional expression, there is little difference between dreaming and waking. Perhaps you can energetically clear your sleeping space before bed? I suggest grounding yourself as well, if you don't already. Ultimately, these energies are our greatest teachers, just my view. It may not seem that way since you had a sexual run-in with someone's grandma, but they are attracted to those who have the potential to give them what they need. Again, just my experience...

You sound defeated...like a guy badly burnt by his one-sided love for a woman who does not reciprocate. In some cases, the beloved woman is not aware of her admirer's affection. But the Tao knows, and it treats devoted Daoists like straw dogs meant for the fires of Daoist Hell. What makes you think that the kids will grow up and know better in time and give up on their magical dreams? Small kids grow into big kids clinging to the same dream magic Santa morphed into the eternal Tao. And the Daoist monks, like our deceitful parents, are our enablers now. We are still sucking that ridiculous pacifier. I don't think anyone in this forum will laugh if you were to pull out his or her pacifier. Things will get ugly very quickly. This is why we've got to built the altar and go on being suckers. But our philosophical daoist altar is to be different from the traditional Chinese Taoist altar. No deities.

I agree with what other people have said. Focus on your practice and this will come naturally. I do have this to add: -Be very attentive to your dreams. Notice the different qualities of lucidity and feeling you have in your dreaming state. Notice any pecularities that stand out. Some of my past lives have been revealed to me through my dreams - good and bad- especially the traumatic ones I must heal. How do I know which dreams are fancy and which are the souls remembering? The energetic "quality" of the dream and what spirit has to say. I do not know if you are prone to "visionary" states. spontaneous visuals and hallucinations in waking life. But some people I meet will trigger past life regressions just by being around them.

I'm certainly not opposed to the enjoyment of food as that is part of our natural emotion pertaining to any sort of consumption...enchanting music, purchasing your dream car, the sights of a curvaceous female. It is only when those mundane pleasures become ones sole source of fulfillment. Thats when it becomes a problem...because physical pleasures are never truly "fulfilling."

I remember a man I met who was one of the very few on the planet who had inherited a special method of divination from China. Numerical it was. Quite strange to hear him - who had never met me - write out the years I've moved over seas, what body parts I damaged and when, promotions, gossip over women, exact things. I wonder over the topology of this space. It's as if you fold it here, then it will fold another way in another place, and a lot of other things take place. At certain times I've been dreaming very lightly and suddenly strange things happen simultaneously in the dream and around my household, at exact moments; small hints that the ocean is much deeper. I wonder how these old guys came up with these uncanny divinatory systems. But it is not only a domain of discrete units; it's also a continuous warping isn't it, an influence? Occasionally I marvel at times when I unconsciously walked into a persons life and afterwards heard that it was just the right time, and I helped them tremendously. It could be a friend who just divorced without me knowing, a guy who stood at the cliff or many other situations. I didn't know, but I just turned up! (I'm not a saint, not at all hahaha). I just lived my live but life creased in such a way that we met. So our whole beings participate. Change yourself, and your sphere of influence and all its tentacles expand and change. Another man I met was a master of a western system of divination. It was not based on intuitive reading or similar. He described what exactly I did for work in a certain city, what had happened with my family etc. Scary. But he was the best. The difference here is that he had pretty much tailored the method to himself; the method reflected him and he reflected the method. Incidentally, he had attained one of the powers of voice: what he said manifested; it's an interesting one, but I won't elaborate on it here. It's just that his special intelligence didn't stop at his vicinity. He also (as did the first above) notified me of the importance of knowing your correct birthtime if the method uses that: your fate changes tremendously by just five minutes; sometimes one minute makes quite a difference! Now when I have more experience myself, I smile at people who believe they can make others dig up secrets by throwing at them a quite liberally approximate time. What also was made quite clear is that you just can't encounter these guys according to your own wishes; it's deserved, your zhen arranges it for you, or conversely: the pattern prevents your from reaching them. Remarkable how people people believe that they can approach the secrets without a modicum of yuan, heng, li and zhen! Even if it is so square in the face as the methods utilizing the Yijing!

You know, the evil entities I have to deal with all are real life people (my old boss and his boss, some dickhead individuals I have to deal with occasionally, and some random strangers, and in the past they were my professors in my old college). On the other hand, all of the spirits I encountered are very benevolent. Even a vampire entity I dream of few years back.

I'm reading JFK and the Unspeakable off and on -- as that Chomsky article I just posted details - nuclear terrorism dirty bombs are very real despite Cheney using it to fear-monger for escalating the militarization. So Chomsky exposes a real multinational effort for disarmament - nuclear free zones -- but the U.S. is holding it back. It's all about male penis envy and ejaculation stress addiction projected as global apocalyptic technology. There is no escape from Mother Nature who will take the final revenge. Nature is female -- most of life is female by far - males are just there for some genetic diversity fun, totally not necessary. Males know this deep down and so have some existential anger reaction out of fear and so if they can't rape females then they are having dueling sword penis fights with nuclear weapons, etc. The Bushmen culture was 90% of human history - humans used to know how to raise males properly so they have female internal orgasms to create the love energy as electromagnetic transmissions in a trance state merging back with Nature as spirit energy. But that time is gone now. The future of humans will just keep getting worse as the male penis missile envy keeps escalating -- Dr. Helen Caldicott's book "Missile Envy" tagged the scenario. So people can protest against it - which can mitigate the damage and prevent some future damage -- but it's only partially addressing the symptoms. I took that route from high school up till the late 20s. Then people can do the trance celibacy training to become real males - this requires a strong degree of isolation to purify the energy -- and once it's established then you're permanently against the system. To what degree depends on how successful you were in opening the third eye. The final step would be to spread the trance consciousness as a reversion back to free natural energy. This is the circular economy - but it's a full experience requiring humanure composting and growing local food and basically promoting peace and disarmament. I realize that "alternative technology" is obviously a part of this but the overall trend of humanity is total destruction -- humans need to no longer confront our individual deaths but our collective death. Humans are just another animal -- a primate -- but essentially no more important than bacteria. Populations grow exponentially, with exponential growth of energy use, then the populations exceed carrying capacity of the environment and then the populations collapse. Humanity was created out of such a bottleneck and the Bushmen trance culture was the true survival culture of the past bottleneck of humanity some 90,000 years ago. The rest of the humans spread out onto Earth thinking they could "control" it - increasingly believing it. haha. The whole new age "spiritual evolution" scene is total bunk -- even the religions based on karma and rebirth or reincarnation, etc. -- sure there's truth to it but in the overall scheme of humanity's hierarchical relations (the caste system writ large) -- any kind of anthropocentric worldview is fundamentally errononeous. I realize a growing segment of humanity thinks we should sacrifice ourselves for the machines to take over as some AI Matrix singularity. The Matrix movies were actually promoting that technospiritual vision despite seemingly fighting it. all of that is part of the failed patriarchial wet-dream to control Nature which is inherently organic and not contained. Even writing about it as I am doing on a computer -- using left-brain dominance. It's all totally absurd and an exercise in futility as it's said. The inorganic elements are supposed to have right-handed asymmetric nonlinear dynamics in order to instigate artificial evolution -- but anyway the supervolcano hydrogen sulfide destruction of life on Earth and the extremophile bacteria that can feed off methane vents, etc. The dynamics are still inherently organic and not based on digital computer programming or some other b.s. Yeah all we can do is take respite in the fact that Nature is in charge and we can't predict Nature and we should not take any chances. As my stoner hippy perv friend said - it's not terrorism but TERRAism - the war on Mother Earth. It's a "war" against a "tactic" - and the tactic is missile envy itself - so it's a tautology: Missile envy against missle envy. It's not even "gorilla" warfare anymore. haha. The last vestiges of humanity's attempt to control Nature. haha. All we can do is laugh at the absurdity of it all. There will be continuing hard lessons. Like composting our food -- I mean the rich of the U.S. can no longer afford to destroy Mother Nature. But destroy Mother Nature is exactly what humanity will attempt to do.

Well, basically, but often just recognizing the situation can lead to this. You likely already have, and the dream was an illustration of that.

Hi K, Could you elaborate? You have a person who narrated your dream, what did they sound like? Is your mother an evil witch? My gut says its your subconscious way of resolving the issues with your mum and the way she treated you in the past. Either that, or youve given her too much power for issues in your life that you yourself want to resolve/ need to resolve in order to grow.

I can't resist so here goes. All parents are witches of a sort and, for the most part unknowingly, curse their children. It's just the nature of having kids when you're not yourself a fully conscious, realized human being. All the unworked through issues and unconscious complexes of the parents inevitably and automatically get dumped in the lap of the unsuspecting offspring. You can call it family baggage, but it's really a curse-- the "big curse" as you say. Other people who come along later in life also have the ability to curse us (usually by bringing up the issues implicated in the original parental curse) but their treachery is not nearly so potent and, as you point out, is more easily dealt with. A big part of reclaiming our real identity and healing ourselves is breaking the family curse. We learn that we don't have to be like our parents. We learn that we don't have to be different from our parents either. We are the way we are because it's how we choose to be as free people, not as slaves to inherited family drama. That's breaking the curse, and it's one of the most important tasks of adulthood. Your dream indicates you know how to do this. You have in your possession a heavily-underlined how-to book as well as other symbolic objects to help you now. Objects you've gathered as an adult that you didn't have as a child. Equally important, you've gone through a kundalini experience--twice. To me this indicates a greater integration and consciousness of the energy. Maybe the first time it was just something that happened to you. The second time around you've brought more of yourself to the experience. You've suceeded in integrating it further into your being, to the extent that you can now use the energy (like a witch yourself?) to break curses big and small. As you say, opinion alert and all that.

Isn't our "real" life very, very symbolic as well? I did lucid dream for a while. I abused my ability there. I hope the dreamland will give me another chance soon.

The Lojong says, "Find the consciousness you had before you were born" to uncover bodhicitta and enlightenment. Why? In “The Art of Dreaming,” Carlos Castaneda mentions that while in another space-time, if one so much as puts on the clothing of the other dimension, conscious can quickly become trapped in that dimension. If we attach ourselves to the other space-time, we can quickly forget the one that we really live in, just as we swiftly forget our dream upon waking. Another example of this topic, although not interdimensional, is the tale of the abbot, Sri Sankaracharya. Following the death of a young prince, Sri Sankaracharya separated his subtle self and entered into the deceased prince to tend to his unfinished last will and testament. The prince’s Last Will and Testament was supposed to stipulate his intent to support Sankaracharya’s monastery, where the young prince enjoyed retreats and philosophical conversations. Sri Sankaracharya gathered the monks and told them of his plan. Then, as the prince’s funeral procession was carrying his corpse to the crematorium, the abbot entered the deceased’s body, thus reanimating the young royal. Everyone was happy to see the prince rise from the dead, especially his many wives, and a long celebration began. The abbot, as he forewarned the monks, quickly forgot who he was, just as a newborn obscures itself from itself through the sensory attachment to blankets, diapers, and endearing baby talk. After a week, the monks became worried and sought an audience with the prince to persuade the abbot to come back into his own body, which by now was quickly deteriorating. The prince, however, would not receive them, as he was busy tending to his many wives. Therefore, the monks gathered outside the palace’s living quarters and began to sing a song that the abbot had composed. Upon hearing the melody, Sankaracharya remembered himself, immediately took care of the prince’s will, and reintegrated with his own body at the monastery. The prince’s body was discovered in the morning and once again carried away, with the funeral party undoubtedly watching for him to rise again. However, back to Stosh's paradigm,...which is interpreting the world through the lie, the delusion, the dishonesty of the 6 senses. Why did René Descartes, concerning the senses, articulate that, “All that I have tried to understand to the present time has been affected by my senses; now I know these senses are deceivers, and it is prudent to be distrustful after one has been deceived once.” That's the simple leap which must be made before the Heart of Essense is realized,...that EVERYTHING of the 5 skandhas is a lie,....EVERYTHING filtered through the 5 skandhas is designed to sustain the lie. HOWEVER,...this cancer (meaning, a striving towards individualism, separation, and veiling of coherent light), can be dissolved,...instantly dissolved, by uncovering Consciousness of the Present. You woke up, awakened, and realized that you might have an entity. Pay attention to your dream scape and look for what they might be trying to tell you. Depending upon the higher bodies that you have aroused, you may be seeing things with your third eye, or other 'clairs'. You may be feeling energetically depressed, drained, or out of touch. This is your awareness kicking in, your becoming more aware of your subconscious. First, you need to accept whatever it is your not accepting. Entities are very common and if your not a monk who lives in solitude don't expect to always be clean and clear of them, in my opinion. Think of your lower dan tien as a hose. You may have a lot of past life 'karma' or issues, or possibly even things you contracted in this life through sex unknowingly that need to be dealt with BEFORE you can appreciate the 'bliss' that Kundalini brings and cultivate it forward. It brings truth to the forefront of your life. A lot of people have 'entities' and don't even know it, mind you. You may even be looking at past life issues you didn't know you had which is WHY you were attracted to the esoteric arts in the first place. If your a bible thumper, this is what the 'Kingdom of God' is all about. It's all inside of you. Be patient, kind, and forgiving. Things will work themselves out.

Ur Welcome! Yeah it's so exciting! He is such an entertaining speaker and he sends energy when he talks and -- I mean I had a 2 hr plus phone conversation with him and then on that Free Friday I had a 1 1/2 hr face to face conversation with him. At one point - I never asked him to heal me - but obviously I knew that was going on. But at one point he goes - raise your arms up. And he did it to show me - like Jesus on the cross you know. Then he starts blasting me with energy. Then he goes -- um put the palms facing down. B/c he had shown me palms down but I accidentally had the palms facing him mainly. Anyway he goes - how did that feel? I'm like -- awesome!! haha. Super deep bliss heat magnetic love energy. Anyway so I wish I could share everything he said to me but it was so amazing and so personal -- still I think he would be fine with it getting out there. But the other thing is everything he says is very precise and so I would just be paraphrasing him and that would lose a lot of the meaning. I mean - like he says some real zingers that totally blast open a new way of thinking for me - and then I'm kind of stunned. haha. But when I thanked him - he said - well if things go the way I see them then I will be more thankful than you. I didn't even know how to respond to that! haha. I just kind of sit there stunned. haha. Anyway I told him it was a dream come true when he called me and -- well his brother had discovered my blog and his brother to Jim to contact me and Jim goes - "Oh I know him." haha. Anyway I let Jim down when he called last weekend to talk about my video of his talk but I was with my qigong friend who has also gotten tons of healing from Jim. But when Jim said - "don't worry about it" then I trust him to not be angry about it since he tells in this talk - he talks about Chunyi Lin telling Jim to "not worry about it." haha. Yeah - I'll see if Chunyi Lin's guild talk is up on their website yet since I missed it last weekend....

. ah, but we both stand upright and also fly in the dream... and the flying is normally more free like.

It doesnt sound inherently bad unless its all wrong which traditionals can be as well I know folks who have cars that all look alike they dress alike , they think alike their homes are alike their divorces are alike and their psychiatrists are alike is the bus alike ?? it brings to mind buses of another era. The rebellion of the hippie era did show its behind when it failed to find a wholesome basis for social behavior ( like family and work ) that could compete with standard views ,, but that doesnt really negate all the dreams of a better way ,, and a similar point might be made for the dream behind communism which could be viable someday , but fails in its attempt now because the power is so corrosive, and no one really aspires to the crappiest jobs. OOps , too serious, oh well

not me... no, not yet. i have my hands full with recapitulation, stalking and gathering power..... astral travel will come in due time, i just recognise it as a necessary step is all. you gotta make the energy body strong before you can step into it easily. although i know i have astral travelled (as have we all) when you have really strange dreams that have no relation whatsoever to your daily activities.... that's astral travel. at a festival the other week, the first night it was wet so my friend and i slept in a common tent, there were lots of cushions around so we made a huge bed (we had our own sleeping bags) and then piled blankets over our sleeping bags.... before sleeping i said to him "lets meet up in the astral realm". the funny thing was i had an incredibly vivid and bizarre dream (astral projection) with him in it, and he had a vivid dream with me in it...... i know we met up there, cool.

The scientific method - when followed - is pretty well robust and produced many good results, I mean, take a look at damn near any technological achievement these days and you see a manifestation of the scientific method. Where the problem is - is with the POLITICAL METHOD. While the enviro-nuts are plenty keen on simply limiting human expansion on account of any human expansion somehow equals mother nature raped with a broom handle, as lloyd correctly points out, the overarching mechanism has long since been usurped by the state, mainly as soon as they saw the potential for tax revenue from it, they started subsidizing research and promoting a certain view - well past the bounds of credibility, but, since yes we are dealing with (truly) authoritarian means here, we know "the power of authority" has been aimed and bent at supporting the view that would allow the public to be fooled into thinking that choking off growth was a good and necessary thing, even if it winds up being to the detriment of most and proving to be a huge windfall for those well enough connected to the process. So really, if technology is to end hunger, poverty, suffering - we see things going in the opposite direction, being told that furthering it too much will cost too much in resources, it is good to tax productivity to limit the abusing of resources - but the caveat is this is not gongfu whereby conserving and not using allows one to build a sufficient energetic potential - the energetic potential of the human race must be expressed a little differently than that - so it cannot rely on hardcore austere conservation to grow the potential to such an extent that poverty and hunger are eradicated! Now of course there's that ancient way of living that is all sustainable etc., but cmon - pandora's box has already been opened on human technology and advancement, so closing the lid on pandora's box is not going to reverse the situation and have the world living the sustainable utopian dream - such a thing would be like airlifting a person to the top of mt everst, too drastic of a change in circumstance. That will only happen via significant natural or cosmic disaster. The human race will only eradicate poverty and hunger by reaching that energetic threshold where the individual is able to express his own power sufficiently - having his own and not dependent on the state to provide it. Of course that power can take many forms, but the energetic kind that helps convey food and shelter are in there. It is in the State's interests to keep its grip on power to that it may limit the people's ability to mitigate its stranglehold into the future. Keeping the individual down is the best way for the state to accomplish this. The political method is state serving, or self serving in the case of those well connected to the apparatus that derive their personal benefit by the position in the state. Graft and corruption serve the same, detriment to the people. Denying people information, distorting the information they receive - that is also how the state maintains its control. So from the creation of the fed to the hundred plus millions in al gore's bank accounts - it is all about a raping of the system by those well connected to the system, "human progress" be damned, but you can bet your ass they pay lip service to those things. Gotta keep up appearances and all. and any of yous that still think co2 has anywhere near the heat carrying capacity to kill us all - you still have not addressed a single area I have shown there to be a gaping hole in the AGW CO2 theory. introduce all the straw men you wish, so long as you keep avoiding those, you are running away from the argument.
