  5. Energy, Chi, and transmission...

A good practise is the waterfall type visualization. There are several ways (points of view) to visualize energy falling or wanting (pushing) to flow over you, or you receiving (willing) energy flow to the body. Can also be the point of view of the universe, just making an energy shift from one place to another, so that you are not so associated with your body. Sit with hands palms up, and also visualise the energy going into your bai hui top of head energy gate as well as palm gates. But it can just loosely flow too. This meditation is pretty common, because it makes use of the natural flow of energy or prana into a human body, and then uses one's yi or intent and visualisation to maximize it. Most people dont do it enough to really get into the point of view, but if you take the point of view of the prana itself, its very effective, if you can take the point of view of the universe and make the movie so real its like a lucid dream, then that is most effective. I can only do that briefly because the picture fades.
  6. Astral Projection

I just came here with the purpose of posting this excellent comment made on the subject and I saw your comment. I hope it clears some of your doubts: Why Is Astral Projection So Hard? If you're wondering why Astral Projection is so hard, you are not alone. You must be thinking, "If this was so natural, why do we struggle so?!" I tell people it IS natural. How can it not be? You are not your body, you are your soul. So to travel about and experience that condition is no more unnatural than sleeping. But why is it so hard then? It is difficult because of our self-inflicted concepts and lifestyles. This starts at the society level, and then works its way down to us at a personal level. If you review your typical life (American or otherwise), during our most formative years, we are taught how to socially behave, left brained topics like math and science (with art as an "elective"), fear based religion, and physical survival. We dismiss all metaphysical things with great vehemence and skepticism. Then, after our formative years, we plunge into the electronic and physical lifestyles, which leads us even farther away from inner self. Everything from cell phones, beepers, televisions, traffic, jobs, and surface relationships keep us from seeking inner truths. I just got an e-mail this week from a 14 year old that had her dream journal taken away from her at her religious school because it was a "sin"! How a dream journal (keeping records of soul and astral activity) can be a sin, boggles my mind. It is no surprise to me that we can't project! Instead, it's a miracle any of us can project at all! But then again, is this surprising since this type of oppression goes back even before the Christians imprisoned Galileo for promoting the simple theory that the earth goes round the sun and not vice-versa? Ignorance, established and held by fear, means control to the controllers and as long as we stay ignorant and let fear rule us, our growth will be stunted in this area as well as all others. So here we are, conditioned and programmed to be the worst astral projectors possible. We're ignorant and afraid. Will we ever be able to flex these astral muscles? How do we undo this? It is my opinion, that with our current pace and attitude of life, this is not possible to any great degree for the general public. It will always be a struggle, and it will take extraordinary efforts to master this natural ability. However, I strongly believe, as with all things, we have yet to uncover an astral projection AID (or tool) that will help us all. This was the purpose of my Science page. We already have tools for projection (hemi-sync, meditation tapes, herbs, etc.) but if any of these worked with great success, we'd all be projecting. You can go to the Monroe Institute for one week (for a hefty sum of $1,600.00) and probably project, as you're in a sealed, soundproof booth for days on end, with hemi-sync playing till all hours. But what happens when you get home and are back to your daily life? Probably nothing! No, the tools we need are yet to be discovered. Of all my years of research and projection, there is one fundamental truth that I think is an important clue, and that is that our physical body has a magnetic hold on the astral body. Only through intense meditation, illness, mastery of the body asleep/mind awake state, assorted deprivation, do we reduce the magnetic pull enough to allow for separation. Source: http://www.astralvoyage.com/projection/hard.html By the way, Tibetan Buddhists and mountain dwelling Daoists include astral travel as part of their spiritual practices that is how they came across knowledge such as the Bardo states, Yi Jing/I Ching, the Five Phases, etc. Indian yogis know more about the higher planes than what we Westerners do.
  7. Burning Palm - Nomad Fighting System (clips)

Hi Rodger, Thanks for the kind words, the Burning Palm connects to the elemental forces and uses them in its practice and healing maybe similar to other type of MAGIK, but I wouldnt call it magik this was the law of the old they where more connected to nature than what todays modern world could ever imagine. Todays society has simply lost the plot and its connection to the forces that created us As a Daoist, we like to say return back to the source... Simple in words but many cant comprehend? The Burning Palm times of practice is giving us the hints to do so, and the connection to these elemental forces with help heal and give you deeper understanding of the laws! Here is a quote from Lao Tzu that I live by and this is also stages of the path if you truly understand it!!! Health is the greatest possession. Contentment is the greatest treasure. Confidence is the greatest friend. Non-being is the greatest joy. Lao Tzu Witch, Same as you a picture or even your name I can to contact you, not only is this a BP Healing method (remote healing) but can be used for harming according to my Sifu. My reason for learning this art was not from "Oh I like the meditations or fighting" But from what happened to me by experience what my teacher did to me to make sure I wanted to learn this art, seeing If I was ready for such a system. Oneday Ill share this story I think I have done so on TTB forum once or twice before? Nothing mysterious about BP just a very ancient way of life using energies, not the average run of the mil Taiji type that is taught around the world for health these days, much deeper IMHO! Im a happy go lucky guy, like meeting new people even if its during a dream, just remember I may talk back and enjoy it too? Take care my dear... Sifu Garry P.S My Ex wife was into witchcraft
  8. Burning Palm - Nomad Fighting System (clips)

You are supposed to be resisting my attack, not looking forward to it! Also this sort of thing is obviously very open to suggestion, so it's not really proof of my kewl powerz if I warn you ahead of time that you are going to have a naughty dream. Frankly I'm not sure I can find you--you are harder to find than Max. I tried this morning and was unsuccessful, will try again (at an unspecified time!) I have to get to know you better, will watch more video. Rogerj, I usually need at least video and a strong familiarity with the personality of the person to be able to find them. It's easier with people I have met in person and know well, especially if I know their natal chart.
  9. Consciousness

More and more I feel that this physical life we are living is not real, I mean our ultimate conscious level exists in another plane and proyects itself from a dual perspective: yin (dream world) and yang (physical world). Final awakening means returning to the original conscious state called dzogchen (Tibetan Buddhism), returning to the Source (Daoism) or parinirvana or eternal true self (Mahaparinirvana Sutra). I need to wake up, I am getting really tired of this eternal samsaric game. You can wake up too!
  10. Yigong by Sifu Jenny Lamb

Overstating that a bit, don't you think? It was a one-time thing. I came after him, he defended himself with overwhelming force. But as I have said many times, I'm not even a beginner in the practice, I have zero defense so overwhelming force on me might be nothing at all to a regular practitioner. With all this brouhaha I decided to try again last night. This is what happened. First off, I had the sense to not try to attack him, I just connected. He immediately became a three-year-old boy, alone and afraid. Not quite as effective as a baby for extracting heart energy, but very good. Very different approach from last time, but once again took every last bit of my heart energy. On the other hand, didn't take anything else, so that was good. Fortunately was lying down on the sofa when I made the attempt. I couldn't get up afterwards. I fell into a trance, I think for about an hour. I suppose I can figure that out from my last post here. Woke from the trance, got up, went to the bathroom, staggered off to bed and slept for nine hours. Had this recurring dream about a Christmas ornament we have that is a plastic prism-thingie in the shape of a heart. This morning I feel all tapped out. Good thing no hot dates planned for the next several days, I got nothing left! I'd appreciate not making me out as some kind of innocent young thing or that Max has a "spiritual vendetta" against me. I've been the one making the initial contact, not him, and I am an ENERGY VAMPIRE. I'm the sort of woman they warn you about, I'm a witch, I can do the evil eye, yadda yadda yadda. I steal your jing. There. As I keep saying, Max is powerful and he takes energy, and isn't too particular about the safety of his beginning students. I said worse initially, but with all the people here including Taomeow (who is never wrong) who have done his practice and/or received transmission, I have to say that I initially misjudged him. Cam turned out fine, better than fine. Yoda has had problems, obviously, but I don't know enough about that.
  11. My Last Post

I'm sorry to see you go, 5ET. I always found your perspectives and posts interesting. No one can create anything new and not expect to receive criticism and doubts from others. Even if they've put a great deal of thought and effort into it. Good luck to you. "Thus shall you think of this fleeting world: A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream, A flash of lightning in a summer cloud, A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream." (The Diamond Sutra)
  12. Yigong by Sifu Jenny Lamb

Oh, I'm going to regret this post... This is exactly what happened and I remember it like it happened yesterday, because it really freaked me out: I absolutely attacked Max. I attacked him in a playful way, but I attacked him. First off, I have very little martial arts training, just a couple classes a long, long time ago, never made it past the beginner level and certainly haven't practiced in the last decade (although recently I started taking a tai chi class for health). The reason I post here is because I am a witch and have a lot of kundalini energy, although much less currently than I did when I attacked Max. Sex magic comes easiest to me, and I am able sometimes, but not always, to give a man a wet dream. Max's people were going on about the stupid 100 days of non-ejaculation (which I still think is a moronic thing for men to do). So I decided to make Max ejaculate. That was my attack. As soon as I connected with him I realized I had made a serious mistake. Along the connection came such a strong force that I forgot everything about myself. Literally. I forgot my own name. It took all my arts as a witch to break that connection. From that, I will say what I have said all along--Max is a very powerful wizard and I think unsuitable as a teacher of beginners, and I'm pretty damn sure he taps the energy of his students, although obviously gives energy back in the form of transmission. Then again, I am the personification of an unreliable witness. From my point of view he's been rather upfront about it, in a sly way. He's said all along that he is Coyote, a trickster character. Trickster characters bring great gifts and change, but they always steal and the truth is hidden under the face value of what they say. For a long while I was afraid of him and this site, but I've lost that fear.
  13. Dream totem or other tool

I've been known to wet the bed when I've had that dream. A little too lucid.
  14. Dream totem or other tool

I managed to recall a dream while it was fresh in my mind. I was in a house where I slept. Went to the bathroom to piss. Like always, I was aware, more then usual. I could not seperate one thing around me from this reality. So trying to see how this reality is fake, I fail. Thus, trying to see how the dream is fake I fail aswell. Anyone has a better way of distinguishing realities? Maybe using a firestone to reflect the dream, or a very complex symbol that is hard to reproduce in the dreamworld? I tried to read a word in a dream. Rereading it, the word remain exactly the same. Does this mean my dreams get better at conveying words over time? Would reading a sentence also remain the same in a dream when you have read it 500 time in your waking hours? Or do sentences work all the time?
  15. Energy protection and Spiritual warfare

Thanks K. You're right, from what I heard, these things happen eventually to meditating folk... its also mentioned in school's texts and sacred texts as well. Yes, those who are sensitive may detect odd things like these manifestations all the time. Attacks may occur because your environment, or your vibrational energy, as friend suggests. You should do space clearing too. I did a mediation just sitting, after waking up. I ask the universe to assist me to purify my energy upon waking up. I just happened it see it like that (perhaps in a semi-dream state) hypogogic state even (since I had just woken up). The negative may be caused by kidney energy weakness too, is my thoughts. That is because kidney is black and corresponds to fear in 5 element theory. I am no expert though. I also have tinnitus, and sometimes the ringing flares up suddenly. Sometimes it corresponds with feelings of fear. Then I use some Tao techniques I know to drive away some bad energy, and the ringing stops. The easiest way is to envision golden light. What do you guys use for shielding/protection?
  16. Energy protection and Spiritual warfare

Creation. Check some Kundalini sites re: heart stuff. "sleep paralysis" is a pretty common experience, as are "hypnogogic" visions. If i stay aware, i can sometimes get dream images and waking reality to overlap. It's also possible that meditation does this. I'm sure one could "accidentally" set it off. I also prefer to see most "stuff" as self-emanating, although I'm aware that there's more to it than that:-)
  17. Astral Projection

OBEs is just part of a larger picture. I am talking about various meditative techniques (including dream work) which combined together that will help you rise your conscious level, hence work on your karma and purify your spirit-body. Friend, My experience is just a experience, like yours belong to you. They come and go and so be it, but it is good to know at what point in time you are at to make sure you are progressing and not stuck at a specific level, which is a common pitfall amongst experienced meditators. Also these experiences will help you get rid of the idea that there is a YOU, the ego. When you reach the ultimate reality, the "bright overwhelming light" then you realise we are all God. Buddhas are able to maintain that conscious level before they reach parinirvana, this is a very serious state. I'm not claiming that this book will help you attain Buddhahood (only countless of lifetimes and several of them involving dedicated spiritual practice are able to extinguish karma and burn all the skandhas) but the dedicated process spread out along the stream of consciousness certainly will take you a long way. You reap what you sow and that includes any spiritual technique that you may employ. I am not a staunch advocate of this system, just my Bagua training and simple sitting Vipassana work seems to work fine, but hey at times I like to explore other techniques in order to break my routine a bit. Dragon Gate Daoists employ a wide-range of spiritual practices in their regime, nothing wrong with that. Buddhists seem to be happy to stick to the method set by their school and that's all good too. Each to their own, there is nothing good or wrong as eventually all roads lead to Rome, some faster than others though.
  18. Global Revolution!

Without a doubt Twinner has made the most important point in this thread. Taking up causes can be great, but there is indeed a much bigger picture. Real change can only come from within one's heart. Anything else is a band aid solution. The problem is that people don't like to change. It's not easy. They like to feel good, they like to "make a difference in the world", in their mind. They like to feel important. So suffering and injustice continues in the world, and abundance for all, all power for all, and all freedom for all remains a dream for most.

Dear Sifu Terry, Thank you very much for shedding light on BTB pratice. I learned the moving meditations of vol 2 but jumped over them too, as well as the sitting meditations, and will incorporate them to my practice, I guess it wil take more than a couple of years to master them , and each exercise is really a treasure. I became aware of my "dream body" stuff a with FPCK, and am in the very beginning process of trying to get familiar with this realm, with the side effect of an energized, healthy body. Unfortunately, I don"t know how to bottle up virility effect too, so I guess I will remain poor but at least and at last- I have something to play with thanks to BTB Counting my breaths does not work for me , my breathing gets very subtle and faint as in deep meditation, and counting distracts me. Anyhow, I am doing 9 reps in 25-30 minutes, so I guess my pace is OK, and now that I know we can take some resting breaths in between the sets, I will reach 18 in a short period. Will try the extra slow version also. I (mis?)understand that the sitting meditations are designed to energize the upper dan tien, are there any standing exercises in the series which might have somewhat similar effects and sort of cover them in the long run ? Thanks again, Cihan
  20. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Yes indeed Sifu Garry, I've had many an epiphany lately as well, for instance my personality was fragmented in about three different ways with the three different yet contained persona's, but I recently found a peace within myself and with that those fragments sort of melded back together into what they began as. (I think the meditations helped immensely in this!) I'm glad I'm not going crazy, this is just the first time I've had so specific a dream and it sort of knocked me for a loop is all. As for the basic meditations not being so basic that's definitely something to look forward to in the future. Warmest Regards, Shen
  21. How to die, while remaining alive

Your final proposal is a complex theory to a profoundly simple experience. What makes you think death will release you from this dream? What makes you think this illusionary life cannot be a source toward truth in itself? Now that you are here, do not be afraid to live. It takes an honest and courageous heart to awaken into truth. The first step is to surrender the mental chatter that is this post. It is this cognitive deliberation that drives the conundrums within the inquiry that will obscure you from perceiving the totality of truth in its many forms, including the form you call 'dream'. You are allowing the ideas of life and death- you are allowing these semantics to conjure a sensation, another 'illusion', and an allusion to a potential that you do not yet fully understand and yet also fear to experience in its totality. So sit, relax. What is the true nature of this totality? You will understand once you have awakened. The process of Awakening is neither/both one of life or death- it transcends this, although it is possible for us to use that terminology to discuss. But since this language has been confounding to you, let me put it more simply: Awakening is a shift in consciousness. That consciousness is found in stillness and in silence because as pervasive and profound as it is, it is also subtle and transcendent. And it takes an equally subtle presence, in harmony, to recognize this state of Truth. In this life, you will only find this form of silence through the vessel of your body (this is a form of living). What must be surrendered is your idea (this is a form of death) of what that potential is or is not, what it might be or not be, and how it can be obtained. Have the faith to let go, the patience to be still, the courage to release the grasp towards death, life or even Awakening itself.

Speaking of a system choosing you, I had a dream a few nights ago where I met with GM Doo Wai and he told me to learn the first 3 meditations. I have since been doing just that and feeling much better, but that dream still struck me as kind of odd. What do you guys think? Am I going nuts here or what? I'll also add the sitting ones as Sifu Terry has suggested as soon as I can. Warmest Regards, Shen
  23. Global Revolution!

I fit in rather strangely with this group, as politically I am an Anarchist, But I believe that Democracy {in the real sense} is a crucial stepping stone to creating an Anarchist society. I also fully support Taxation, as our contribution to society but believe most current models are broken, as the Mega rich get taxed the least in many cases. I hear Joeblasts comments, and I want to ask him if he has heard of Sweden? Taxation there is about 80% or massively high, I only hear these things from our regular Swedish Backpackers, but they say the place is just great. Free dental, medical, Education, sport centres, child care, bathing and Sauna centres... And somehow with their semi socialised democracy, they come out as one of the most economically competitive country's in the world... And cross that with ranking high on the Happiest country's in the world poll. America doesn't even make it to the top 10, so why does Joe and others like him think it is so great? Its called Brain washing. All their lives they have been told about the American Dream and how great it is, they see the red white and blue waving in the wind with moving patriotic Trumpet sounds in the back ground, and 'ahh we are the best country in the world...' We Invade and murder millions for their resources, and "Ahh we are the best country in the World" The divide between rich and poor is getting huger and huger but "Ahh we are the best country in the World" Millions of homeless everywhere... "Ahh we are the best country in the World" Biggest debt in the world, but "Ahh we are the best country in the World" Have more black men in prison than the population of Australia's biggest city and "Ahh we are the best country in the World" The highest Murder rate, but "Ahh we are the best country in the World" Our own citizens are dying everywhere because they can't afford medical help but "Ahh we are the best country in the World" Fattest kids and general population anywhere but "Ahh we are the best country in the World" nearly half the population are Christian nut Bars, but "Ahh we are the best country in the World" Prisons for profit successfully lobby for a 3 strikes and your out [permanently Imprisoned] law in a country thats {generally} proud of abolishing slavery, and "Ahh we are the best country in the World" The religious Nuts in power send masses of money to Israel, to make sure that Israel fulfils biblical prophecy, but "Ahh we are the best country in the World" Most of its citizens are so heartless that they support people dying from lack of proper medical care just so they don't end up out of pocket and "Ahh we are the best country in the World" The list could go on but you get the picture... America is the greatest F@#!ing Country in the World! Now pass the cool aid, and we are going to make the rest of you drink it with us! {plays American Anthem} So seeing all this, and considering the general state of public Brainwashing, then protesters at wall street are always just stupid middle class know nothings [all of them all the time], socialism is 'always' evil and a stepping stone to 'shudder' Communism, which is the massive enemy patterning Brainwashing key here... and Nothing is better than Americanism, ever, in any way whatsoever, all the time...
  24. How to die, while remaining alive

@ Everything Awesome! Yes, I think I am a bit familiar with the states you are talking about. Did you feel incredibly awake, like more awake than you have every been in your entire life? As if the past daily awakeness was comparable to being drowsy? Taste, hearing, and touch were vivid and blissful? Is your heart pounding strongly but very slowly nonetheless? And it seemed as if your awareness was not in your body, but everything was of your awareness, but then you notice that your sense of "I" was just a thought looping around the head and the aliveness you felt was impersonal yet total? You can't induce that state through words. Basically you have to detach yourself from the words like deci belle said, because words are rooted in ideas, and ideas are concrete. The only way is to cancel the words out with words like Nagarjuna would do and make them so abstract you can't even make sense of what is and what is not. And breathe! Put your attention at the heart, and breathe! And let all thoughts happen but as you say treat it all as fake, a dream. Let all these questions go, let go! and Let go! let go until you have have let go of the letting go and just let your intuition of being take over and faith in your own death and as long as you do not disturb the process, everything will vividly manifest spontaneously, the wisdom, the energy, the creativity. Creativity is wisdom! Wisdom is not some analyzing of reality or metaphysics of some deep insight. If you try to consciously develop insight what's going to happen is you are going to just create a reflection, which is false. Wisdom is in the obviousness and how much you open up will reveal that as vividly as your hand. How fearlessly you delve into it is important. Then you won't know whats you or whats not you or what your aim is or whether this is a state or some trance or what not. Let reality reveal itself and do not try to box it in to neat ideas. If you return to these habitual tendencies to construct goals, identities, concepts, inevitably you will be sucked back into your so called "dream" states. And in my experience, that return is literally a crash into the earth like someone abruptly chopped off your wings.
  25. I hope you guys can remain open enough to atleast talk about this. This is not really science. I'm simply trying to digg in my subconscious and make it conscious. Basicly, there are all allot of patterns in everything. Look at your hands. Are they really yours? We recognize them as being the same hand troughout all our lives. Yet this is just one hand out of infinite you have had and will have. Every single moment you have a new pair of hands. This is so obvious that we have become oblivious to this fact. You sit comfortably in your home, thinking that it is the home you have always come to know. It is not. This home has changed so much over time, yet you see more similarities then diffrences. This is because of a flaw in your memory. Everything that you own is not yours, but it is all from your past life. The only thing that never changes is us. The energy. The energy that moves the body and feels love. When you die, you will simply wake up from the dream you were having. Yet you remain a sleep in that dimension aswell. You will crave yet again to return to this beautiful dream you were having one more time. There were so many things you didn't do yet! So you return within the dream and you think its real again, so you again forget to recall the reason you are here! We keep forgetting and remain stuck in this rat race! The only way to recall your purpose here is to wake up. But if we wake up, that means death. Death to your identity in this reality that you have come to accept. So suicide wont really help. It will wake you up, but you will just crave to return again, because you did not fulfill your purposr here. So you will go asleep again and start a new life here in this dream. So, how do we wake up, while still remaining within this dream? Obviously, fear does not help the waking up process. To little fear kills you and you wake up too much! Unless you can remain fearless, accept you're in a dream yet stay occupied by the dream at the same time. Pretend that this is all real while you know it is fake. We have to stay in between the dream and waking state. So that we can do whatever we want here without having fear limit us. In between life and death. Like Bruce Lee would say, learn to die while still allive. But how? Has anyone done this, and how to go about doing this? I'm not really worried about wasting this dream, since we will all eventually wake up. I just want to wake up now, without dieing, so that I can take more from this dream. Please understand that I am looking for exact words that will work everytime I apply them. I have woken up many times in my life and left all kind of messages of remembering that I am asleep. When I read my own message towards my self, it makes no sense! All that I can extract from the message is to die! I have to denie my own existance! Yet I was alive when I wrote it. How did I die while still remaining alive? I cannot recall the transition. I can only recall the stages where I was already awoke. It was very lucid and my ability to predict to communicate with my subconscious was incredible. I wish to write music one time in this woken stage. First I have to recall how I woke up. I just recall that I was like "this is all a dream!" Yet I was not afraid, but I did not end my life either! I was still dreaming while woken up. I hope with more experience can help me reproduce this. I just try to say to say to myself that this is all fake and a dream. I cannot do it. All I can think of is the afterlife. I only desire death and become afraid of life when I think all is fake. It becomes a nightmare. How do I accept all fakeness yet remain fearless? It cab be really scary to walk around really confused. Where everyhing you knew turns out to be fake. I'm also afraid of waking up completely, in the form of death. I was not afraid of this when I did manage to pull of the dieing while still remaining alive thing! Everytime I pull it of, all I can think of is analyzing the experience so that I can reproduce it. I just can't write it down! The only thing I manage to convey trough words is death... Like some kind of total egoless state. That is basicly death... How on earth can we die while still remaining alive? Because in all my lucid experiences I keep wriing this fact down, in diffrent words, over and over again. Yet I do not recalling any death prior to reaching the egoless state. How can this be? Does this mean we can never write down the thing that took away our ego without taking us out of this dream, by waking us up trough death? So you try to word it. See how deep thinkers you guys are. One theory of mine, is this: In order to wake up, you must first go to sleep. So we can train ourselves at night, while sleeping, to wake up without having the dream fade away. Basicly, this is really hard because once you fall asleep you will forget your purpose of waking up up within the dream. Do you see the similarity here? As above, so below... Does this mean we are current living in Hell or does my fear of waking up bound my soul this place of eternal recycling and mandlebrot.
