Ok ive realised its cool to feel like im progressing but can annoy me when "I feel" i am not progressing or regressing, are these concepts, conceptual things, should this even be my focus..I am, I exist.... Lets see I guess progress is a dream like thing it kind of does exist and it is nice to feel like your improving or aim at something, but is there a better focus, do enlightened masters ponder there progress or get angry at a situation that may make them seem like they are regressing? Just doodling thoughts again?

I don't believe in "evolution" at all -- but I do believe in sequential unfolding, the taoist "timeliness" of events, entities and processes. You have to have first things first. You have to have mammals before you have humans (doesn't follow that humans "evolve" from any particular mammalian species of course -- as they put it in Rome, post hoc sed non propter hoc). You have to have multicellular organisms before you can have mammals. You have to have eucaryotes before you can have multicellular organisms. They do not evolve anymore than you evolve from age 5 hours to age 5 months to age 5 to age 50. They are all part of the process of unfolding, of which no stage is "higher" than the previous one but every one is "different and the same." We share DNA with absolutely everything that lives. And yet a ladybug is not an evolutionary step toward the First Lady. "(Qi) blows on ten thousand things in ten thousand different ways so each can be itself." -- Zhuangzi So, sequentially it does not compute that we had a Golden Age in the past 200,000 years, and we don't seem to have been here at all before that. (No evolution involved -- just like when you were 5, the 15-year-old you wasn't there. They don't share the same spot of the space-time continuum.) Ice Ages are likely to be real, information cross-references from all manner of disciplines, though who knows -- our sciences having anything to do with life (rather than tech) have been edited so heavily, sometimes I understand the ulterior motives behind adulterating the information we get, but sometimes the purposes of the lies are only known to the lying party all the way to the top and regular scientists and their students can't possibly begin to guess. But if the Ice Age is not another dud, then we are supposed to eat 40% animal protein, 45% animal fat, 15% roots, small tart berries, occasional vegetables. Because that's the only diet that was available to us when we unfolded into our modern anatomical shape. It's not perfect compared to the mythological Golden Age -- but then, when did reality ever match the dream?..

Lucid dreaming, Astral projection and OBE

wow! have you read any of carlos casteneda? i started with his books on the art of dreaming, then bought robert bruces book astral dynamics years ago. i also bought that other book he did with this other guy cant remember his name THE 90 DAY GUIDE TO ASTRAL PROJECTION. i have those affermations on my ipod and listen to them when i work out. those books helped me alot . waking up within the dream is still a little hard but obe is pretty easy i often go from one to the other. do you practice neikung? since ive made it to a certain level of practice ive been able to reach places i wasnt able to before. and some are well youll just have to go there for yourelf. visit this website and read the tablets if you wish or unless you have already one of the places he speaks of i realized i had been going to and had ben called to since my youth. if you are pretty good at astral projection you will find more than you can imagin there. http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/thot/esp_thot_1.htm -
Just think of how, when we dream, if we have been turning a blind eye to what's just beyond the surface and neglecting very important things, they arise in our dreams in obvious or subtle ways. If you act on ignorance during waking life, this is like denying the truth of selfless purity. But our mother will always have her way in the end, so that neglected virtue will seek manifestation at some point in your life if you don't pay it off with your attention as currency. Otherwise, it will come to fruition as illness and disease.Since it's our own delusion, we will have to own up to it or dispel it with a sharp, sword-like awareness. Bartering with mother nature, you gotta know when to hold em and when to fold em. The whirled wants what it was promised, your whole life. It wants your complete attention. You can't squander the opportunity to go beyond this spicy jambalaya of cause and effect (LOL) because you never know what shes gonna add next to the stew. When you stop taking the obvious for granted, you will stop getting mixed in with the jump rope oscillations of rising and falling negative and positive energies, which hurt. You will start to coagulate the volatile elements and appreciate the impermanent. You will start to see the middle path, free of extremes. If you think of the body as some sort of out-of-control alien spaceship, then you stop flying directly into the face of dangerous peaks and chasms and opt for the scenic route, because your pilot will finally start reading the manual and realize that blowing up is bad on the engine. It wants you to take responsibility for your evolution at this moment so that it can finally relax and loosen up. The ego takes the earth and puts it on it's back, and then complains when she crushes him to bits while the Buddha rests on her navel, completely unharmed, and shakes it's head like, what an idiot. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. She's a little spiteful already, best just give her what she wants - your whole self. Plunge into the unknown and experience the intensity of the light, till it burns up whatever's left to see, then just be. In the vivid emptiness, totally aware. The more potential you steal (like a natural disaster on a forever-long waiting list), the more selfless you will need to act, so that your energy doesn't bite you back or manifest in untoward ways. It's as deci belle said, self-generated trouble. In order to utilize your full potential, you need to leave behind habits, all of them, so that you dont get twisted up in energetic irony. Really, our entire situation right now is self-generated trouble. Realization is the price that sages must pay for freedom. Once it's known, though, it's natural, so what is there to do? Just be what you have always been - free, from every thing. Once the way is free from debris, you should probably leave... Because your house is on fire, and the deliciously refreshing river of life is just to your left, then take a right! I'm sure if you ask the earth very nicely, maybe she will drown your clay hut with the waters as she dries off her hair after a swim, like Shakyamuni Buddha.

Lucid dreaming, Astral projection and OBE
suninmyeyes replied to skydog's topic in General Discussion
Another good book I have read recently is this Master of lucid dreaming http://www.amazon.co...54350706&sr=8-1 It doesent contain dreaming techniques and its not a manual , but it is very interesting and talks about lucidity from a very interesting point of view. ed :to add that anyone wishing to lucid dream can just try become more lucid during the day and do meditation before sleep an that will definetly result in more and more lucid dreams and being aware of obe and such , plus meditating in the sleep... Lucidity slowly and irregulary starts overtaking replacing old ways of being. -
No need to laugh, there is not much silly about what I said, sure I post silly stuff sometimes, well actually none of its silly just differing viewpoints on reality. Concept does not have the same meaning as non truth, It is like a dream, dreams are a kind of reality too.

Heads up that http://springforestqigong.com has a free international guild Q & A tomorrow night. You just register on the website for the international guild and then sign into http://springforestqigong/events and look for the practice sessions -- Jim Nance leads it tomorrow night. You can submit questions - he does a meditation also. Anyway it's all just building up the energy. If you're already demonstrating energy -- transmitting it -- then that prevents you from going to a deeper level. Me I live with four females so they suck up all the electromagnetic energy I can create -- or "jing" -- I mean the terminology is different. The question I asked is about the internal tingling I get from food and then the "food goes to my head" and I off-gas crap smell. So I need to build up my jing energy again -- that's why I stopped "Flexing" my pineal gland -- but it looks like I can only build it up from more meditation because if I try eating enough food to build up my energy -- then I smell. haha. My system has to be super pure. So I am still stuck in permanent meditation land - to be a master takes 6 hours of training a day - and Chunyi Lin says full lotus meditation is 20 minutes worth equaling four hours of any other type of meditation. What's the point of me even posting this when all the Western egos freak out and go -- you don't "need" full lotus meditation. Yeah I KNOW -- but if you can sit in full lotus meditation in ease then the ego is not lying to you. So many people practice but actually it's just all their imagination. haha. You can't "imagine" the full lotus -- you can't "fake" the full lotus. So if you're bending people over with Fa Jing -- you mean "no touch"? Again -- well on youtube there are "masters" of Fa Jing -- but it only works on their "students"! haha. So a person has to be very careful about just projecting their imagination -- it's amazing how easily others go along just because they're afraid they'll get beat up or the person will have a tantrum, etc. I'm not saying this is the case at all -- but just as an example. Mainly meditation is done in silence so posting on forums is the OPPOSITE of meditation - which is the irony of thetaobums or any other meditation forum. So when I'm at the computer I always sit in full lotus -- 90% of the time. Yesterday I had a rare day to meditation for several hours in full lotus. So I built up electromagnetic energy and so then it was immediately sucked up by the females needing it. haha. I mean literally if I sit in my room in full lotus building up electromagnetic energy then people start calling my name demanding my energy. haha. When I did my original training six hours a day when I was 29 -- I was not on the internet -- except email -- and I had very little social contacts. I had previously girlfriends as my main social contact and I broke it off with them. So then I was just reading meditation books and I worked on the weekends when hardly anyone was around. Then I had a car and school money so I could regularly get the energy transmissions from Chunyi Lin. So it all worked great but I was studying "Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality" but that book is very intense and I got to a point in my training but I had not studied the book well enough! haha. So anyway then I discovered Master Nan, Huai-chin and he says how almost all modern practitioners "fall back into worldliness" due to "heroic overexuberance." So again basically if you demonstrate the energy then that creates imbalances and energy loss and more meditation is needed. So Chunyi Lin said that when entering the advanced levels it's best to be in Nature and on retreat -- in solitude or with other practitioners and the energy master guiding the energy. Yeah it's tricky to balance it all out. A few years after I did my intensive training - I was still doing full lotus meditation as much as possible and then luckily I was working at nights and no one was around! So I was able to build up my energy -- without even realizing it. I went to buy a candy bar -- I know BAD -- but it was the middle of the winter and I had just biked to work so I really needed some calories even if empty. O.K. but the metal box that held the junk food -- well my quarters stuck to the box and were rolling UP the side of the box. So I'm all alone and going -- WTH!! So then I think well this metal box is magnetized but how? So then I go -- oh! So I make a "chi ball" putting my palms facing each other and sure enough I had strong electromagnetic fields pushing my hands apart!! So I had magnetized the box and caused the quarters to be magnetized, etc. Of course this energy did not last at all because soon after a female started stalking me at work. haha. I'm not joking either - I used to wait until like 2 a.m. and then I would go into work hoping I had the place to myself - and then she would show up to sit across from me. haha. Anyway that was part of my "O at a D" transmissions -- she was stressed out and so I would charge her up but again it made me smell like crap. Chunyi Lin said - yeah it's great I can give females bliss by flexing my pineal gland but unless I store up energy in my lower tan tien then the energy transmissions will always be weak. I knew this was true but whenever I try to store up my energy I get chased by pervs! haha. So I stopped "flexing" my pineal gland and my brain off-gassing crap smell got 50% better -- now it's just if I eat too much food too fast -- or if I have any sugar, etc. I get this internal tingling -- Chunyi Lin told me "not to worry about it." haha. But basically I am permanently in permanent meditation mode but I can't be since everyone around me is materialistic and thinks meditation is a waste of time and being lazy, etc. haha. So I eat a lot of food and then I do manual labor -- but then I smell like crap, etc. and I think - well it's everyone else's fault for not allowing me to meditate. Anyway so if you can already transmit external energy -- that is awesome!! I know for Chunyi Lin -- he relies on "third person" testimonials. So if you want to be a "master healer" it requires having other people document and sign to how they experienced your energy, etc. Since I was doing "O at a Ds" then that is obviously awkward as it's tantric love energy -- and not the type of thing people would want to admit to in public. So then people don't believe me if I talk about it - and that's fine with me because again I stopped "flexing" my pineal gland. haha. Jim Nance said he's seen people deplete their energy because they doing energy transmissions but they are not relying on calling on their master's energy to recharge themselves. I think this is what Jim Nance meant before when he said the spirits would not like it if he wrote a memoir of his training -- or also posting info on the internet, etc. Basically it takes pretty much 6 hours of meditation a day in order to transmit energy every day without depleting it. If you can get your energy strong enough to replace sleep with meditation then it's possible but right now my energy is not strong enough. I know where my energy was at and it was so amazing yet no one I knew could even fathom it. My friend who sat five feet from me and exclaimed: what are you doing to me! When my energy was its strongest he urged me to see him in an outdoor theatre performance. So I biked across town and I sat outside and I watched -- the whole time I thought - this is such a waste compared to sitting in my room and meditating with this amazing energy!! But people just have no conception of the power of meditation and so they don't respect it. haha. Chunyi Lin said I should have "called him" when my energy got to that level -- but I didn't have any extra money for a phone healing. At the time he was doing the healings out of his house. I didn't want to disturb him and i didn't feel worthy to need his personal guidance. Also I thought that any information I needed I would get just through the spiritual contact through meditation. haha. It wasn't tell years later that I finally found the passage in "Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality" that states dizziness is caused by the shen spirit leaving the body too early and so it needs to be stored back into the lower tan tien to build up the chi energy first. So when I had sat in full lotus the room was spinning around me! I needed to know what caused that and I was searching books - Sri Chimnoy said: "Oh that's just the cosmic energy." haha. For example Master Nan, Huai-chin says that as the energy gets advanced there will be precognition. I was already getting amazing precognition - and this blows the mind! I mean you experience something in "real" life that you ALREADY experienced in a dream or vision state as just as real. So I called it the "glitches in the matrix." Anyway when I read Master Nan, Huai-chin saying this precognition is normal -- he then states that it only works for little events and not like big prophecies for society, etc. Master Nan, Huai-chin says that this precognition is just normal and no big deal and to just ignore it basically. haha. So anyway obviously when the energy does get advanced then things get wild fast. I still have had telepathy -- and so from experience I realized that when I go to meditate in full lotus with the eyes closed -- then it's based on desire right. So whatever thought I have - if the emotional intensity is strong enough -- then sure enough the person who I am thinking about then contacts me. Now I am basically a hermit so no one contacts me normally. One person who contacted me -- I had not talked to them in 15 years and they were not a close friend. But I had seen them on an email list and so I thought - I didn't want to bother them with my strangeness -- so I thought that the person will have to contact me. So I did it as an experiment and I focused on it in my meditation - for them to contact me. The SAME day -- soon after my meditation - the person emailed me. It was really amazing.

As for your pure being/awareness goes, evidently you feel you can be the judge as deluded as you are. Until you experience pure nonbeing, you have no basis for objectivity to judge your own everyday mind— much less your enthusiastic contentious notions of what could possibly constitute "pure being". As for your nonsensical spray about buddhas not having to experience enlightenment even once… even a buddha has nothing over anyone who knows their original face. Spend less time pimping your imaginary buddha and become an awakened human being yourself. It's not easy before and it's not easy afterwards either. Dogen said, "Buddhas become people and people become buddhas." In other words, become a buddha first, then learn how to be a realized human being. Only an ignoramus would endeavor to employ reason to express the inconceivable. Anyone can understand understanding, only an enlightening being can understand not-understanding. How do you thing the classics came to be? Having fathomed my mind, I would not dream (as you do) to use logic to express the unspeakable. Furthermore, sudden realization is not a matter where one exists to experience anything. Among other things, it is the event of one's inherent selfless potential returning to its source. YOU DON'T GET TO GO. Where potential is the same as living awareness, no different than the seat of your current replaying states of ignorance— it's just that you do not see it is why you take imaginary causes reflective of an habitual self-propping ego-driven psychological apparatus, as proof that you do, in fact, exist. Since you completely misunderstood my expression (and liked it too, if I recall correctly), I fail to corroborate your multiple versions of what you have taken to be your idea of pure being. Those must have been lovely experiences, mon ami~ but even though realization only happens once, one must still go further and shatter the absolute, which is no mean concept, before one steps over eternity. Only then is one an equal of prior illuminates, able to follow in their footsteps as you place yours as theirs, and proceed up the gradual incline. The gradual path leading to the sudden is finite. The path beyond eternity has no words. This is entering the tao in reality, planting lotuses in fire, taking over creation in order to steal potential, able to match creative evolution with the virtue of receptivity, effecting creative evolution without ever again entering the matrix of karmic cycles of yin and yang. You know, seeing through phenomena without negating appearances. You know, the middle way, suchness …enlightening being. Surely old-hat for someone such as you, hmmmmmm? Obviously you have no knowledge of the absolute, much less the sense to realize that one must already be in harmony with nonoriginated selfless awareness in the first place. Enlightenment is just an indication of harmony with the way. It has no intrinsic meaning. Its like being sick, and you know it; but then finally actually being temporarily bedridden~ then finally returning to health, delicately aware of your weakness, eventually to simply just forget you were ever sick at all as you resume ordinary activities. Enlightenment is like reversing your process of growing up and being born, only to be born again in the unborn. The source of inconceivability doesn't owe you a logical cause, yet you insist that something beyond even the mysteries of creation should be as logically comprehensible as a democratic entitlement—as if. You must be able to be done with your worldly ignorance (your intellectual entitlement issues) to enter into the entry-level experience of simple awakening— which is none other than realizing self is a wonderful and effective, functional illusion. BUT MISTAKING ONE'S THIEVING PSYCHOLOGICAL SPIRIT AS ENLIGHTENED MIND IS THE NUMBER ONE ERROR OF STUDENTS OF SELF-REFINEMENT OF ALL TIME. Your mistake is so common this saying has been the hallmark of buddhist study since before bodhidharma's coming from the west. As I said before, call it what you like, but you have a loooooooong way to go~ isn't that good to know?❤ ed note: typo four paragraphs from the end

whats up, i've been a member of this forum for awhile and never posted. I'm alex, i'm 21 and from the state of Georgia in the US. i've been interested in spirituality my whole life, and have been practicing and studying yoga (particularly 'kundalini yoga') on and off for about 4 years, along with a mish-mash of study and experimentaiton with meditation, 'astral projection', theurgy and entheogens for the past 6 years. Recentlyi have become more serious/regular about my yogic practice as i have become much more sensitive to the energies and subtler dimensions in my body and around me. (or should i say they've become much more apparent to me!) anyway, i recently had an experience while meditating after doing a relatively vigorous yoga routine focusing on the chakras that felt most empty. pretty soon after starting my meditation i saw these lights that i've seen before during deep meditation. a goldish yellow haze dancing with a whitish blue haze behind my closed eyes. i've seen and played with this same imagery as i've drifted to sleep for the past couple of years as well and thought it was just 'hypnagogic imagary'. (i should also note i believe that playing with this light in my mind before sleep led me into lucidity during my dream state.) but this time i was wide awake and seeing it after just a few seconds of meditation! anyway, i opened my eyes and could clearly see what i geuss is my aura, darker colored light closer to my body about a half inch thick and a fuzzier, lighter colored layer above that didnt clearly really have shape, seemed to big to just sit and look at the whole thing just from my vantage point. the more i focused on the whiter light it became the same as the golden light dancing with the blue light when my eyes were closed and the blue light came back and seemed to swirl into and dance with the gold light. i watched as the gold hazy cloud formed in my room against my wall and sort of pulsated, seeming to condense the blue light into a tight little ball which seemed to be a deeper more electric seeming blue(possibly ultraviolet?). i focused on the ball and could see vauge electric lookin details/patterns moving within it. the vision started to fade so once again i closed my eyes. the electric blue almost purple round ball remained burnt into my vision, and i could see a host of other similar colors that like ive been saying, i can only really describe as being deep electric looking colors. i could se many vauge patterns and constructs moving behind my eyes faintly. faintly then faded to fainter and fainter until i couldnt see the colors anymore, but could still see vauge movement. i've read since that hinduism talks about this 'blue pearl of wisdom' and it reminded me of a story i heard a while back of a yogi that had a blue ball appear in his meditative state that eventually took a human form and comunicated with the yogi. any additional info and advice on this phenomena would be great! glad to be here! much love! alex

I'll just leave this one comment here and probably not make followup comments, because I don't feel like reading so much of this stuff. It seems that ayahuasca opens your waking consciousness to your subconscious. It shows you the stuff that you chose not to see, and it shows you the belief systems that sunk into your subconscious and there maybe shape reality for you. I think that's why some people have their/certain beliefs about profound questions confirmed. They don't realize that when you enter the entheogen realm, there is no absolute truth anymore, just as time vanishes, too. So what you experience and believe to be the truth (because just like in the dream state you think what you experience is real) might simply be your own subconscious beliefs. For example, Joe Rogan said he thinks we are just bacteria, just a cancer on the face of the earth. This has nothing to do with truth as we usually understand it. It's his program of creating reality, competing with other people's programs of creating reality. It's your choice what to believe, and if you experience something during an ayahuasca trip that doesn't vibe with you, then feel free to make a decision to change that belief system and let the update sink in deeply. The more my ayahuasca experiences move into the past, the more I personally, for me, feel like what I experienced during the trip is less useful than having made the trip itself. The changes in you that you are not aware of might be why you are doing the trip. If what you experienced is just confusing, then let it go. You don't want confusion, right? It's about being your own author, to have omnipotence over yourself and make changes. I can only speak from my own experiences, but nothing is certain or fixed when taking ayahuasca. Easy to fool yourself. As a shaman once said: Ayahuasca can be the worst of liars. - Actually, that's not hitting the core. There cannot be a lie if there is no truth. Only you can be that liar, if you choose to stick to the self-deception once you have been shown it.

World View - What is the Reality we live in?
konchog uma replied to thelerner's topic in General Discussion
99.99% void with some dancing energy waves that create the illusion of solidity "form is emptiness, emptiness is form" a glorified dream that remains as it was yesterday for our benefit (or for some reason beyond comprehension) ultimately, the more you try to intellectualize about reality, the further you are getting away from the essence of that reality. So that is why i meditate.. to cultivate direct experience of things in an unfabricated way great post michael, thanks -
as to the question about the tibetans vanishing into light, thats called rainbow body and is different than immortality practices. rainbow body dissolution into light (leaving hair and nails) only happens upon death. In fact its considered the most elevated way to die. Then depending on ones mastery of dream states and the bardo, one can go where they wish to be reborn, so in a sense, there is that aspect of immortality of the soul, but the general tendancy of tibetan buddhists is to look at extreme longevity and immortality practices as a sort of self-clinging, or ego exercise. if you look into it you should find info. Read Chogyal Namkhai Norbu's "The Crystal and the Way of Light" for more info but thats the only firsthand account i can think of. He writes about a guy under house arrest whose progress in the rainbow body death was disturbed by authorities who said that they went into his room but he was tiny like a child, they were kinda freaked out so they went back in a couple days with some more men, but all that was left was hair and nails. CNN writes about several cases of rainbow body he witnessed firsthand, some were people related to him, very good book, highly recommended

.................. Astral projection and remote viewing happen more often than folk know I reckon. More people having done one or t'other and brushed it off as a dream or a wobble. Neither practice is recommended nor taught in development circles in the biggest spiritualist organisation here in the UK. What is taught is how to 'deal with' if and when those happen. One of our working mediums Fiona Roberts has a book out on Kindle called Ghost of a Smile, well worth a look for anyone seriously interested in these areas.

Fū Yue, on 21 November 2012 - 02:25 PM, said: No, I havent read the book so I don't remember john changs account in the spirit world. I have my own accounts to go on. YOU: You're not correct. - ME: proove it! - YOU: 100% of the knowledge is in front of you right now, the only question is whether you can recognize it for what it is. - ME: if you have truly astroprojected you wouldnt make that statement! thats like saying all the knowledge about space can be gathered by not going there! that space is like earth if you had been there you would know that they are totally diferent places. this one and that one. different laws different effects ect.. YOU: Following nature's example is the way, and all biological and 'spiritual' knowledge is a natural permutation of what the universe is doing right now, the transmutation of the various phases of the elements, the cycle of the seasons and the harmony between polarity. - ME: its not following natures example its altering natures example , thats the way, and knowing fanciful words wont teach you how to use natures example to become immortal. YOU: There's no use projecting to fantastical lands if you cannot even understand how enmeshed your being is in the natural elements around you, because if you can understand that then you already know the path to immortality, which is one of return, not leaving. - ME: its all the use you need. by projecting you understand what happens when you leave. and thats how you learn and understand how to get back. otherwise you'll leave and never know how to get back. and by exploring the other side you learn more about this one not the latter. thing is it takes more than indulging in philosophy of spirit and being. it takes knowledge and understanding. knowledge one can only get by doing, by going, by experiencing. Merceless One, do not be presumptuous. I am not speaking of philosophical musings, I am speaking from experience. I have died to this world while alive, and come back. I have ascended and descended through the various realms of existence. My awareness survived re-entry into the womb. I don't have anything to prove to you, the truth speaks for itself. I'm only here to help. And the truth is that nature is already perfect, and by making our selves identical to the celestial design we are able to enter the Tao even in normal existence, where nothing is gained or lost, and there are no ends or beginnings. By making our awareness in the likeness of the universe, we are able to recognize and follow the truth even through endless transformations and death itself. Reversing the outflow of light to return to the unfathomable nature is the whole path. You don't become immortal, because your nature is already deathless. Manifestation is deviation from the source. Self realization is far more important than learning to astral project. If you have self realization, power will result naturally, it will all come together. You will naturally assimilate the knowledge from those who have gone before you, in dream and wakefulness. You don't need to 'go out there' to see the ascended masters. They are right here, in the space between these words. They live inside of you. But if you pursue power ignorant of the truth of being, you will only encounter obstacles and blank spots in your cultivation, because you will unconsciously create barriers between yourself and the beings you are trying to learn from.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I find that you're a pretty good thinker, as you have great focus. I think you can do even better. I suggest you explore your preferences more often and you're well on your way. When you find yourself imagining/thinking about what you don't like, stop and say "I will give myself 15 seconds to think about what I don't want and then let go of thinking that." timer goes on... 15... 14.. "I don't like rules, people who give me rules suck! I hate them all and I hate that I hate them, I don't like it all!" 2.. 1.. DONE You don't have to focus on those things. Who told you that you have to think about what you don't want to think about? Do people call you selfish when you choose to focus on your preferences instead of dispreferences? Ask them if they feel selfish when they remove their hand from a hot pan or stove. The "dispreference" is nothing but an emotional response to a focus of thought you are having that is deviating from the truth of your preference.. Now think about what you do want and focus on that instead. It is very easy to focus on preferences in life and think about that. Now as you have been trying to ignore your preferences for years and years, you will find that you have some crazy preferences. Don't throw these crazy preferences away and don't judge them. Embrace all of your preferences as fully as you can. They're not crazy, they're symbolic. Like a dream. It will take some time to translate them into physical action/inspiration/preferences. Keep exploring your preferences to greater and greater depths. Eventually you will begin to see your preferences in your daily life and it will STAND OUT to you. Where there was no way, a way shall be made for you to walk upon. This is how you carve out the way without any effort on your part. It's another perspective on the 3th LAW of Creation: Law of Attraction.

Your vote for the most emotionally intense films?

Chocolat and that other Johnny Depp movie Don Juan De Marco, emotional without making you feel like you've been traumatized after. Another film by requiem for a Dream director called Pi is more intellectually interesting although not quite as emotionally intense. And I like A River Runs Through it. Cool Hand Luke and Breakfast at Tiffany's for old movies. -
That sounds like a very useful excercise. What I like to do is see every single little dust mote in my visual field as a miniature-me who diligently keeps record of everything i've ever done said thought smelled whatever. If I want to recall something I pull it out, fractal style, and it unfolds like a flower in space. It's lead to some very interesting dreams where I'd be disembodied floating through crazy holographic mind internet and some pretty novel lucid dream techniques. That feeling when you realize you're dreaming because your awareness is stuck halfway between a television, the show on it, and your shoes in some sort of unspeakable spacial geometry: priceless.

sinansencer said: I feel your own exploration in your own style is determining what is most effective for you~ I'll mention a bit of the technique of the shamans of Mexico as an aside …but I wouldn't dream of making comparisons with the living awareness you are activating❤ In recollecting physical details and the environment, the one(s) with whom there was interaction, and the feelings present, the breath is used to eject residual foreign energy from the event being recapitulated and also to pull back energy that was left behind during the original event. Shamans used recapitulation as a ploy to induce a minute but steady displacement of the assemblage point (something it seems you are accomplishing). Under the impact of reviewing past actions and feelings, the assemblage point goes back and forth between its present site and the site it occupied when the event being recapitulated took place. Sorcerers believe the source of emanations (referred to as the Eagle) can be satisfied with facsimiles of our own life experience: hence the recapitulation. The dissolving force of the source of all awareness gets what it wants: our life's experience, and wizards get what they want: freedom to expand their capacity to perceive and reach and fly on the wings of intent. What you are doing may serve this purpose well~ it doesn't need to be for any reason other than perhaps it is time to effect the recollecting. It seems I accomplish similar effects during certain kinds of spontaneous meditative states where everyone I conjure in detail, in turns, dissolves or melts or opens into empty activated potential … in order to clarify presence and open it to incipient movements of potential. It can be some sort of preliminary lead-up to other states or sometimes not. I don't know if what you or I do in these recollecting states produces identical effects as the recapitulation practice of the shamans of ancient Mexico, as there doesn't seem to be a strategic motive in conjuring these freeing experiences, but the similarities are worth mentioning. 仙 ed note: fix typo and add the ending to the last sentence -

looks good jetsun two nights ago i realized i was dreaming but in attempting to stabilize my lucidity the dream faded to black. I have worked with Stephen Laberge's techniques and writings and successfully attained regular lucidity, but that was about 20 years ago. I should get back into it! I think i will look into Robert Moss. Does anyone have other suggestions for lucidity authors?

I read 'Waking the Tiger' a few years back, I thought it was pretty good, I would be interested if there is anything new in his new book though. I am currently reading Which is good so far, is a bit long but has a lot of good practical shamanic techniques in it, including thing like egg cleansing and dream re-entry and techniques for soul retrieval.
