Ah... the dreamless sleep. yet are we really dreamless if we can reflect and say that we were without dreams? Even if we dream of absolute nothing[ness], we are still dreaming, recognizing, reflecting. My question is how do i return to life and dreams from the pit of absolute nothing[ness]? -
You can make your dreams be anything you want. That's great power and it's easy to get caught up in it. For example, you can make it so that your dreams have special messages about the non-dream world. You can then get obsessed with gathering and following these messages and forget that you can make dreams meaningless if you want. In other words, you might forget that you have this power to change what things means and just follow a meaning you gave something long ago, all the while suffering a lot. If you are careful not to get obsessed over things, and if you keep in mind that dreams don't have to mean any one thing, and that you are the one that makes them mean this or that, you can go ahead and play with that power and you won't be hurt. When you get bored or tired, don't forget to switch your dreams back to meaninglessness.

No, that's not all there is. We get a job, make friends, get a couple hobbies, save up some money, met a woman we love being with, get married, buy a home, have a couple kids - Hey! the American Dream! Or not. But then even a dullard can say something that will cause a thought process in our mind that will lead to an enlightenment. Never discard something until you are sure it is of no use to you. Yes, here in the US people have become a colder breed of people over the past 50 years. But still there are many who hold to the ideal that we should help others if we can. Yes, the fear of 'getting involved' and being taken advantage of prevents a lot of people from getting involved with others. This is sad but a fact of life none-the-less. Yep. Too late for that. Not many people left who live on family farms and produce nearly all that they need in life. Things change. We change too else we become extinct. Peace & Love!

In "Buddhist India" Ward tells of the final conference after the death of the Gautamid before the order split. There were five main differences between what became Therevadin and what became Mahayana. One of them was the omniscience of the Buddha. The differences were reconciled around the notion that a Buddha was only omniscient with regard to the dharma, not with regard to worldly phenomena. As I've said on Tao Bums before, the point that could not be agreed was whether or not an arahant could have a wet dream, be seduced by a succubus. Something like that. Doesn't exactly sound like the Mahayana that we know, the compassion for all beings that holds off personal enlightenment for the sake of others? Yet I think it rings true, because it means that the mahayanist enters into the suffering occasioned by delusion for the sake of other beings, and that means acts are committed that an arahant (supposedly) could not commit. I'm thinking everybody is right tonight, God help me. the cessation of perception and sensation, which is beyond neither perception and sensation nor not perception and sensation. Marked by a happiness. The pride of clinging to existence, the craving to be reborn, giving rise to the asavas, which cease with the cessation of volition in perception and sensation. Attending on sense object, sense organ, consciousness arising from the contact of sense object and sense organ, impact out of the occurrence of consciousness, and feeling associated with impact, fevers of mind and body decrease, and happiness of mind and body is experienced. Right view, right intent, right effort, right mindfulness and right concentration develop and go to fruition, right speech, right action, and right livelihood are already well-attended- so in one observing thus, abiding thus (something like that) with regard to the six sense-fields. does anybody think that the reason we have this much brains is directly related to our lack of a tail? Why do I exert so much energy to wag the tail that I don't have? How come all I have is consciousness, impact, and feeling that breaths and wags? Woof?

The problem isn't our obvious sexual excess, but our denial of that excess. We use sex advertising everywhere, but as soon as we find out just how many chicks Tiger Woods has banged, we pull him from all advertisements.... HELLO? He's living the life most straight men dream about- rich, famous, and has sex with as many women as he wants..... We tell everyone "buy our product to be sexy", but when they get their sex on, it's bad. Nobody wants to be "the virgin", because virgins are inexperienced, obviously not social enough to ever have had a decent relationship, and not physically attractive enough to ever have anyone want to have sex with them. But what's the difference between a virgin and a slut? (using the Christian influenced term) Sleep with one person it's okay, you're just proving you're desirable, sleep with two and you're a horrible person? Is it a time limit? Must have X number of days before sexual encounters with different people? You try not to become "the virgin", and instead wind up being "the slut". Tantra is taboo because it would acknowledge something that everyone is in denial about. To have people admit to practicing this would equate to them tacitly admitting that they have sex at all. And upstanding moral members of society don't have sex. Because people still think sex is evil. (of course there's more to tantra than "just sex", but we boil everything down to sex, don't we? ) Give people tantra, and they'd probably downplay it or even ridicule it in public. Of course, behind closed doors they'd be all like, "I can have sex AND be spiritual? Whaaaaa? Sign me up!" But ask them about it and they'd be like, "ew, disgusting." Oooooooh society, society.

Hey thanks artform! Yeah I don't use any kind of physical contact -- except the full lotus pressure on the legs! haha. Of course if I wake up from a dream after having too much yang food that I didn't burn off properly then I might need to close off the gate of mortality -- the base of the weener. But that's only happened once in the past 5 months -- maybe twice -- and I just lost some preseminal fluid.

That's more than 10 years ago in the late nineties. This is still about 4 or 5 years ago. You can see slight sag in her cheeks. Anyway... she is looking far more healthy than your average person because she mostly eats a raw food diet and she has been practicing a vigorous hatha yoga practice her entire life... besides that. She is deeply connected to the dimension of infinite space so lives her life from a deeply calm place. She also regularly chews wheatgrass. Funny... I had a dream with her last night. She was just talking and chatting, laughing it up a bit and sitting at a table with a few people, and I was just standing next to her and I was like... "wow... such bliss!" I was just feeling the bliss of her presence. I've not felt anything else around her since I first met her as the Guru in 85'. Well... I also went through my period of doubting the bliss during my sadhana, but that's done with now.

Top The Important and Fundamental Rules of QiGong Practice (Part II ) (The Medical Aspect) The side effect of physic and mental disorder is usually seen among people practicing QiGong, Meditation, Zen Meditation, self-confine, feast, etc. Teachers and learners are Precautionary against each other. In fact it's because they have little medical knowledge. Discomfort symptoms caused by incorrect participation can generally be sorted out as the following: 1. Legs paralysis: Symptoms causes deficiency of both Qi and blood, sink due to a deficiency of Qi, stagnation due to heat or cold. In the religious field another kind of legs paralysis should be considered, which is caused by "mental factors", can be easily found in people having mental problems. In western medicine, this symptom appears as serious muscle weakness, hardness of the nerve of side collarbone in back vertebra, and nerve inflammation, etc. All of them have only one reason, that is, long time cross-leg sitting causes extravagated blood or catching cold, or blood vessel declination. Therefore, feet are weak and paralytic. That's why back in the Spring And Autumn Period (770-476 B.C.) and the Warring States (457-221 B.C.) in China people cross-leg sat in straw mats. But then changed to use Chair and Bed. The reason is that when the weather is cold, and warm-keeping is not sufficient, or sitting too long and lacking of movement cause lacking of circulation. Tibet Buddhists prostrate themselves before Buddha instead of sitting or cross-leg sitting for too long. One of their purposes is to prevent extravagation of blood circulation. 2. Stroke: this is the most frequently mentioned symptom. Especially things happen to some people that when they are cross-leg sitting practice. They feel weak suddenly, fall down, can hardly utter words, their bodies cannot move, or they even die suddenly. It includes cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral thrombus, cerebral anaemia, and insufficient oxygen. Cerebral hemorrhage is caused by too much mind working while meditate, vascular sclerosis, too much cerebral congestion, overuse of body strength, so that the vessels break. These symptoms often occur to Marshall Art players, weight lifters. Of course Marshall Art players include TangShouTao, KongShouTao, TaiQuanTao, Judo, SabreTao players and other kinds of boxing players. Cerebral thrombus is due to long time sitting, so that deposited anemia moves to neck artery or head. 3. Qi conflict to Vertex: it means too much thought in mind or too heavy concentrated over head area cause brain cavity hypertension, so that the patient may have hot and red face. Even when you put the center of the palm about one inch over the BaiHui Point (top area of the head skull), you will feel hot heat radiates through the head. The patient may feel quite discomfortable. What makes things worse is that, the hot heat may ascends following the heart beats. Those serious ill patients may suffer from insomnia, can not go to sleep all day along, being unable to think, or losing self-control. This kind of illness Cannot be cured by common tranquilization medicine, western medicines also does not have good effect on it. Only traditional Chinese medicines like JianLing Soup and ChaiHuLongGu Oyster Soup can cure this illness by induce the blood and Qi returning to its original place. 4. Involuntary movement: What is involuntary movement? In fact, after sitting in meditation or cross-leg sitting for a while, the heart blood circulation will be reduced, or the heart may lack of blood, so the compression and peristalsis of abdominal cavity and the heart is automatically speeded up. This results in a feeling that the belly keeps eating, or the body may wobble with the heart beats. But the less blood or oxygen in the heart, the more seriously the sway becomes. And vise visa. If continuing to do this way without lying down fully stretched, or moving a little bit, it always causes sweating all over the body, looking pale, or even the patient die of sudden myocardial infarction. Or some patients may suffer from hypertrophy of the heart, extravagated blood or hemorrhage of the heart. 5. Hallucination or mental disorder or insaneness or madness: when fasting to a certain period, the body may become short of blood sugar, which cause brain lacking of nutrition support and malfunctions. The patients may suddenly feel being caught by devils, or feel just like in Paradise, and seeing religious holy views. Therefore, it is better for participants to take some sugar, especially black sugar and Chinese date. For those who already has hallucination, the patient will be recovered after drinking strong sugar water and lying down for over half an hour, and wait until blood sugar level returns. As for insaneness, the patient may sit still dumbly all day long without eating and drinking, even not being able to realize urinating. This is caused by short of blood and oxygen in the head. Therefore, the patient should take excitable medicine in order to increase blood and oxygen supply in the head. As for madness, it is caused by over supply of blood in the head, which results in over excitement. These people consider themselves as distinguished, intelligent, virtuous and noble. They are fond of wandering, singing and dancing, endless talking, not going to sleep for all day long or for several days, not being able to realize danger in dangerous place, attacking and abusing their beloved ones, or self-beating, cutting and pricking. These patients must be treated by strong tranquilization medicine, or herbal medicines for clear the upper heat and wind remedy. And the patients will be recovered after a period of time. After recovery the patients will not remember their previous illness. Anyway, any symptom mentioned above to the participant should stop their practice right away. Therefore, incorrect medicinal knowledge or lacking of the sporting and practicing hygienic knowledge may cause side effect of their practice.

Vanir Thunder Dojo Tan replied to MuttHero's topic in Welcome
a dying breed! I had a dream once or as i believe premonition, of the girl i am meant to spend my life with... i coulda sworn i met her last summer, but it turns out she's belly up... maybe she's seeking the way... she seems open enough to truth to accept that what she has been taught could be wrong, but she is also an extreme socialite and busy bee... she might never slow down enough to see. She has her life ahead of her and i have mine, Who i seek probbly doesnt exist, at least not in america. My "standards" are probably pretty shallow... All natural auburn hair is the one thing i cant get over. drives me nuts. Freckles do a lot for me too, i cant say why. Personality has to be compassionate and loving, understanding that we are all interrelated and connected as a whole. Another "nobody" like myself that is to say... Free spirited and not easily bound to obligations, but completely loyal to companions and family. Someone who especially understands the importance of family and understanding relatedness. -
Hey all, I'm constantly in search of methods to increase my gains in everything I do. On the topic of meditation I've been contemplating it's correlation (if any) with sleep deprivation, or rather an "augmented" sleep schedule. I notice that when I sleep less or don't sleep at all, the next day I feel as if i'm constantly that place between dream and awake which seems to be ideal for meditation. I've been looking into polyphastic sleep, which is taking multiple power naps during the day instead of sleeping once per day for longer duration (if anyone's ever seen that Sienfeld episode where Cramer tried that...LMAO). For example, DaVinchi used to call for roughly 20mins every 4 hours(only 2 hours of sleep every 24 hour cycle!!!). One of the biggest touted benefits (besides more waking time) is a heightened vivid-ness and intensity of dreams and the tendency toward "visions" or "hallucinations", which seem rather rare but welcomed in my reality I'm trying to devote as much time to practicing meditation and certain physical exercises as I can so I figured this may be an option. I plan on combining it with a diet of fruit and sprouted grains/beans/seeds because I naturally sleep less and have more energy when I eat like that anyway, the only trouble would be finding work O.o But anyway has anyone ever experimented with polyphastic sleep before? Have you noticed the effect certain sleep patterns or diets have had on your meditations? I'm really trying to maximize my results so any and all input would be MUCH appreciated and probably enjoyed by the many anon stalkers on this site Thx in advance -Astral

What is your favorite Qigong System and Why?
Kameel replied to Raymond Wolter's topic in General Discussion
Well, I'll give a practical example of the resonance effect in my own life. About 6 months ago I decided to limit sending chi and focus soley on increasing my own field. Apparently my dream body didn't like this idea, because I would wake up around 3 am to use the bathroom and notice I was sending chi in my sleep. Fair enough. One night, during a particularly difficult case, Michael (Ya Mu) visits and changes my hand position and how far away from the body I am working on a specific patient. He then also raises my personal vibration as he does the treatment with me. Why Ya Mu? Not sure. I am currently not a student of his system/lineage and only know of him through this forum and reading his book about a year ago. But he does come from time to time to check on my progress, and I am open and available to any help I can get that will benefit others. So I'm sticking with the resonance theory. -
Yes, I understand. You take the blank level of formless consciousness as the Self. I understand the leaning on this experience as the end all be all and how it blocks one from going deeper in investigation. I used to be blocked by such a bliss and love that felt ever present. It's just a state of expanded awareness that is possible due to the fact that phenomena and consciousness is empty of inherent existence so malleable. That light is blissful, but to lean on it as a Self of all is a block according to the Buddhas and according to my reluctant experience as well. Buddhism beyond my beliefs of it, made me very uncomfortable because I agreed with the universal consciousness as truth experience as beyond rebuke. I used to think that the Buddha taught the same thing as all the other mystics. But, I was really under mis-assumptions. "Yes it is. In unconscious states of sleep, I am not aware. Of course if I were enlightened these unconscious states of sleep would be filled with awareness as my dense karmas would have been wiped away through the practice of awareness. Also, in the state of infinite nothingness, I am not aware. It's only afterwards that I say... "Oh, there was nothing and no one aware", only in contrast to when I become aware. Are you always aware of the experience you are living? How about that mosquito that bite's you on the back of the leg while you are sleeping. Are you only aware of that when you wake up?" This is your assumptions based upon your interpretation of your experiences. You are wrong according to the Buddhas though. This has nothing to do with indoctrination, though you could use some study. This has to do with investigating more deeply your beliefs about awareness. More monist dogma. It exists within the awareness of many conscious beings as an inter-dependently co-created play of all sentient beings experiencing it. But awareness is not a single cosmic non-phenomena that the entire cosmos arises from. In my opinion, you are fooling yourself. You don't realize how much the traditions you have enjoyed has effected your interpretation of your experiences. Did you read that book by Venkatesananda? "Total Love"? He talks a lot like this... saying, "be-lie-f's" I really enjoyed his writings and they used to boost my belief in a cosmic consciousness and the experience of this as the truth. Even though I experienced the formless state of Samadhi very deeply before I read a single book on spirituality at the age of 14. Because I had no other form of interpretation in my influence as my mother was a Shaivite my entire life, I considered this experience an experience of God. I wondered around in an altered state of awareness for a week while at the ashram at 14, deeply effected by this direct experience beyond time, form and limitations and it was deeply blissful on a deeply peaceful level and I felt deeply connected to all things afterwards. It was very nice. But, I mis-interpreted the experience due to various causes and conditions. Yes it happens within my awareness. Some deities that follow me around are aware of much of what I experience as well. "In certain states of sleep we are not aware of the world and in certain states of meditative absorption we are not aware of the world at the same time that we are having these inner experiences. It is only through the fact of connecting moments and awareness of these that memory works. But awareness is NOT constant, even if consciousness is still available, but at times consciousness is repressed and stupor is experienced maybe in one state of sleep or meditation or another. Of course if you have constant awareness, even in deep sleep where you have illumination or your awareness goes to higher realms or you consort with various deities or whatever. That's fabulous. But, this doesn't mean that everything is made of one consciousness. All of it, including the elements and individual consciousness' arise and flows, cycles and evolves within the vastness of inter-dependent origination and is all empty of inherent existence." Yes, I do. Only when I become aware of experiencing do I contrast the non-experiencing of dreamless black sleep where the subtle elements that arise my consciousness recede into potentiality, and awareness is lost for a while during deep body rest. But the energy of body karma which is another type of consciousness pulsates my body even though my sense consciousness and dream consciousness receded into non-awareness in the subtle elements dulled by the darkness of my unconscious. I'm not that enlightened yet all the time where I am ever aware, even in deep dreamless sleep, only sometimes. My Rinpoche is though, he has 24 hour awareness. The Buddha didn't break down an individuals consciousness' into different aspects for no reason. I feel that you are under the sway of beliefs and assumptions. So... I do disagree with your assessment of me. As I very much have direct experience of many of the Buddhas statements. I spent many years meditating many hours a day and chanting many hours a day, avoiding movies, even friends other than passing spiritual conversations with spiritual minded folks. I was quite the shut in. A very blissful shut in though! I very intensely wanted to know the truth of things.

The 4 noble truths include the 8 fold path, which includes right view. This means understanding mutual co-origination and emptiness as well as anatman or no-inherent-self or essence to anything. See this constitutes a belief in a real and true self and will to the entire cosmos. This does not hold up to the Buddhas scrutiny. No worries, it happens to me all the time. In Buddhism the sacrifice just has to do with realizing no-self and offering all will and merits to the upliftment of others, either now or in the future by sewing seeds of liberation, even if it seems disagreeable in the now. Buddhism seems to be the only path that breaks down this, "spirit" into it's most subtle components and then finds that there is nothing absolute there to grasp at as well. Experience goes on and on endlessly. In Buddha interpretation, Samsara is beginningless for an individual, but once Nirvana is realized, this is endless. I used to believe as you. When I studied all the worlds religions vehemently without giving much time to the most volumes... Buddhism. I used to only read from here and there out of context from really bad translations. Then I was schooled by an experienced scholar accredited from an Eastern school to a high degree. Then I met a great Rinpoche, and then I met many others after that both in dream and physically. Anyway... it's not that an individual cannot realize the same truth as the Buddha without being Buddhist. But... it's just that as a spiritual tradition, Buddhism offers the most clear explanations and methodology that appear on this planet with the most beings who have realized actual Buddhahood and not just intermediate bliss states of great power like in many other traditions.

My limited understanding based on Taoist Yoga of this thus far is: The goal is essentially to reverse the clock back to your prenatal state (as before you were born). This method involves cultivating both xin (for "Buddhist enlightenment") & ming (for "Taoist immortality"). Celibate cultivation is used to replenish "yang qi & jing" that is steadily lost starting from puberty at age 16. Men age in 8-year cycles (women in 7-year cycles), and every 100 days of celibate cultivation can supposedly restore 8 years of lost yang qi. Keep in mind that this includes several hours of cultivation per day, ideally on a split schedule. So, we're really talking a few hundred hours per cycle - although overall I'm sure these are just ballpark figures. Mileage may still vary with each individual. Anyhow, the older you are, the more 100-day cycles you will have to do to refill your jing & dantian to rebuild your foundation. That's where it all begins. You must first accumulate a critical mass to work with further. The basic meditation method is absolute stillness while ideally sitting in full lotus. So, that's a very loose interpretation & synopsis. Just keep in mind that I am no authority on the subject and have basically zero street cred, though. So, don't take my word for it! Yea, I dunno about this? It's based on the idea that the yang part of the day basically starts at around midnight & the yin part at around noon. So, you can best refine yang qi from yang qi-induced "night wood" at this hour. But, I've also heard that the yang part of the day starts at dawn (hence morning wood) & the yin part at dusk...so I'm not really sure which version is really correct here? Interesting, I sorta started doing this recently myself. I call the upper dantian your "dreamscreen." Because to me, it is the "plane" in your head where you see everything when you dream. That's how I find it (well, assuming I found the right thing, lol). I'm not too good at locating my dantian yet, though. Still need to work on that... Keep in mind though that you're born with a xiatian, but must form your dantian there. And until you do, you will likely not have much to feel there. *Batteries not included*

This is very interesting my current partner took video of me holding my arms in various positions during sleep that I am not consciously aware of but she took video. I am doing these brushing movements up and down my arms and along all these spiral lines up my neck and head. She says I will hold either arm up for long periods holding the universe and will mould and wrap and entertwine my way through her casual movements in bed. While I am sleepng I seem to dream futre and past but between is this vibration field awareness that is navagatable I am not aware of her but in the vibratoru realm it feels significant to continuously keep the pressures in the ma moving. Other times she says I'm dead like norly stirring no matter what. Any person on this thread that has experenced the slingshot effect when being 'rubber banded' back to reality, has the future potential to not only enter vibratory stAte but also pass through that state to the mind realm, this is the Lland of Taoist sage brush teaching.

So, when you dream in color at night in the dark...where does that light come from?

A taoist sage who has retired up to mountains no longer has any need for the restrictions of free will... Go figure By retiring to the mountains, it is a symbol of returning to the source from whence the sage came. He or she comes out of the universe, and in leaving all cares behind, returns to the Mother/Womb of Creation. Its a symbolic journey undertaken by all 'warriors of the heart' who seek re-union with their true face. Funnily though, the masses often use the common phrase, "I came into existence, or, I came into this world..." - how about saying "I came out of existence?" After all, the universe is governed by blind energy, and it is from this blind energy that all things are formed, and will forever continue to be re-formed. In many ways, the human race has evolved not by order, but from chaos. Things just happened the way it happened - a very astounding fluke shot, very often seen in a game of snooker or pool, a similar principle in action. In this view, it is difficult to say with conviction that Man has absolute free will. He may want to believe He does, but that does not alter the very real limits of His choices. Alan Watts said, "Humans grow out of the universe in exactly the same fashion that apples grow out of apple trees". That is the degree of one's relatively restricted Free Will. It is free within constraints and boundaries, only as far as the limits of our human-ness would allow. In that we find the limitations of Free Will. It is when the boundary walls that hold us captive within this 'humanhood' collapses, that both Free Will and its horrible twin becomes totally meaningless, and we become like the sage who has gone up the mountain. What is astonishing and reassuring to know is that, even though some remove themselves physically to an inner sanctum, mentally they are still caught up in, as Ninpo puts it nicely, the mores of human-ness, while on the other hand, there are those who are shackled to the mores physically, yet mentally and spiritually their inner being moves unrestricted in those places that we can only dream or philosophize about (like i am doing now - shame on me!) It may serve us well to remember that Free Will and the lack thereof are both notions created as a kind of convenience, for in truth, they are both Chains that bind - one made of gold, the other of iron. Those that want to believe they possess Free Will (as though we can really possess anything by choice) are merely enmeshed by a shinier, glossier fetter. My 2 pence piece.

Stilling the mind at first (by primary observation of consciousness ) observed first stillness as it occurs naturally in humans as sleep and as rest (resting postures; observe ushiba sitting) for example after activity passive stretching that cools down body or after the day sleep.... before sleep elongating the breathing pattern and lengthing the cross over times and cognition in sleep states resembling in experience hypnotic forms of regressive rythmic body pararraliss wave riding. If the veils of the physical are not immediately passed through the chance of choice in lucidity enables passage. Even daily routine enters dream anyone doing anything repetitive knows this, how much more then something you love, something you do.... Something you feel, something you've looked for .... And found! Something you've remembered. Walk through walls. Teleport. Jump a Mile. Just remember after that last breath before the fall.,,,, I love the feeling of falling backwards.... I love the feeling of falling backwards, into a nice ... Soft .... Fluffy.... Vibration Station The stillness in the motion of tai chi movement : Steel in Fluffy Cotton The first active meditations that involved placing a thumbtack on the wall and fixing the gaze aiming at complete zero point stillness on the center of the tack. This could be done sitting or standing in wUji or other stance. The task is to simple fix the gaze in absolute stillness upon the tack. Any wavering of your eye is failure, continual unbroken relaxed fixed gaze is the goal. The unfettered mind? The profundities presented are unique it seems to each individual but the end results of a unity and foci of awareness into a rather elusive obvious of the center which encompasesses all centers the one and all the one to three to ten thousand the interconnected web of all interacting life forces. The Flower I have reflections on the minds relationship to time at this crucial juncture in the journey, the first steps in my path to stillness seemed to involve at first not allowing the mind to fixate by letting go of passing thought, then accepting new ones as they came up which slowed down everything relaxed what is happening naturally anyways then continuing to let go and accept and release. The space between thoughts dialate, the awareness bandwidth expands as the language thought slows and gives a window to other informational sources of brain activity, the consciousness carrying nerves, and other sensory carrying organs. When your mind travels from thought to thought and you've been taught that intelligence is based on what can be put into words, what exists between thoughts the emotions the layers the motions and motives the mind and mother of all things produces, poetic justice is served with speechless detail. Like looking at the code of the matrix and not knowing binary.... The student knows to listen the disciple talks w the forest the master knows the forest and all it's paths the grandmaster knows all the paths and all the forest. It may be difficult to integrate into lingual terms the psycho physical passages involved in the removal of pain from the body but it is best said we are sacks of meat on sticks that need shaking in the wind to air condition the most advanced piece of biological evolution for a diameter of eight trillion light years. Sacred geometry and the symbolism associated are not just representations but metatative overlays that produce specific energetic fields.... Fields in the sense that a snowflake is a representation of earlier vibration fields its water was exposed to... The frame work of physical reality itself. The very perceptible poly synthenasiatic cross associative awarenesses of Genius schizofrenics mystics shamans and madmen alike. It is not so subjective the objective world of shared mystical experience when you don't talk about it. Silence is Bliss

How do we find our personal spirit guide?
Sloppy Zhang replied to Edward M's topic in General Discussion
I suggest you peruse this older thread to get some ideas. There are some valuable gems of wisdom in there that I have found valuable and that I have discovered ring true for me in that thread. There are also people who claim you can meet spirit guides in dreams, normal dreams and lucid dreams. I have tried without what I initially considered to be success, but upon further review of my dream experiences I think that perhaps the discovery of something is possible, so perhaps you could try that avenue as well. As you are able to reach deeper and deeper levels of meditation you will also discover some interesting things, perhaps guides in that form as well, so keep up some kind of meditation practice. To that extent, I have found qigong helps to energize the body to keep it healthy for meditation practice, so you might want to look into that. For starters, I recommend B.K. Frantzis' "Dragon and Tiger Medical Qigong" system. The instruction manual is kind of pricey, but it is top notch inf. "Opening The Energy Gates Of Your Body" as well as "Relaxing Into Your Being" and "The Great Stillness" also teach good energy work + meditation techniques that let you go as deep into yourself as you are willing to go. -
It's definitely possible, but unlikely. Death, as an event, for most people, is a tragedy and a trauma. Ever heard of post-trauma amnesia? Why does that happen? People forget what they don't enjoy. But knowledge doesn't exist as an series of islands. Everything is connected. So let's say you got into a car wreck that you'd like to forget. You can't just forget the wreck. You must forget sitting in the car 2 seconds ago before the wreck as well. What about 5 seconds? Yes, this has to go too. What about even entering the car? What about everything that happened on that day? In other words, you must forget not just the traumatic event, but some amount of context associated with it, so that there is no nagging hint left in the mind. Furthermore, intention has different levels. Most things we do proceeds from the most superficial level of intent. But at a deep level we actually want things different from what we would admit to ourselves. From our level right here, it looks like all the memories of life events are precious. But at a deep level, we might know that lives are endless and life events are countless, and to try to hang on to those memories is like hanging on to the grains of sand in a vast desert filled with sand -- it makes no sense at all. So what seems to make sense to us on a superficial level, doesn't necessarily make any sense to same us on a deeper level. So here you have at least two reasons for why we shouldn't remember much, if anything, from past lives. Is it possible? Sure it is. Is it possible to remember the contents of your dreams when you wake up? Yes. But do you remember every dream and every detail therein? You'll remember more if you specifically intend to remember, and this is also true with dreams. Once you intend to remember dreams more, you do remember them more.
