I haven't listened to this recording, but I'm familiar with Tibetan death dissolution meditations. It takes you through the stages of a death that assumes a gradual and conscious transition. It's only moderately useful, in my opinion. The elements dissolve in certain stages which creates unusual feeling and sensations. But the actual experience of it is rather weird and even for Rinpoches. It's good to know that there are peculiar sensations and that these can be relaxed into and accepted as a normal part of making a transition to non-physical. The important point is to make peace with the transition to non-physical in the first place. Get it out of your head that death is a "penalty." If you do that, then your vibration towards your future transition will be cleaned up considerably thus paving the way to have a rather nice, fast transition experience and not get stuck in long draw out dramas in hospital limbo land. The Tibetan's believe in samsara and awful things happening in the bardo where any meat eating animal gets reborn to long lasting hell realms. If that's where tweety the songbird goes, you don't want to fuck with it. I believe that they are wrong about samsara. The hell realms that they are describing are also part of the transition experience, just the same way that dream visions are part of the process one goes through as one lets go in order to sleep. And these can be happy, sad, whatever. But once you are through, you are through. The ghosts that people see aren't the spirits on the other side, they are trace energy patterns left behind--so there aren't shackled motherfuckers moaning "Ebenezer" on the other side or anything like that. If you don't like the prospect of returning to the non-physical realm, you ain't going to like the sensations involved in the process. If you are looking forward and excited about returning to the non-phys realm, then you'll find the whole thing greatly abbreviated and exciting. -Yoda

Okay Grasshopper, you too can be a sperm stud like me and master Ron. I've been 100% since mid May with no runs, drips, or errors. I got drunk and forgetful on that occasion and couldn't find my million dollar spot in time, but no use crying over spilled milk. Ron's the pro, but he's too busy cultivating to reply in depth, so I'll do the talking: Exercise is the key to retention--it both builds and circulates sperm. I'm not doing any of the microcosmic stuff, but haven't needed to as long as I'm exercising almost daily. Without exercise, I wouldn't recommend retention as things would get too stagnant. Also, my recent green tea discovery has been helpful with regard to the circulation aspect. Horniness is the goal of the practice, grasshopper. It's not always easy, particularly when the wife needs her sleep, but we all have our cross to bear. With enough exercise and green tea, the basic energy should be able to spill over into other activities like googling incessantly, researching chemtrails, yet more exercise, and maybe even some artistic creativity or genuine love if you are into that sort of thing. Whatever you want, you want more. It's like your own fantasy island! You have more energy to play with and it just takes some practice how to channel the psychological components of it in a way that feels invigorating rather than lackful. It's a change of perspective. Osho says to view ejaculation not as "satisfying" but as numbing and dumbing of one's lifegiving desire and compassion. To view the state of horniness not as uncomfortable but as invigorating and lifegiving. Makes you feel like a Chinese Emporer. Nee-how! I'm not doing dream practices yet, but the energy for that is gathering. In the last year or so, I've had the nagging awareness that I was loosing my energy through sex, but I failed to make a consistent practice out of it. I believe that sungazing gave me surplus energy to get into running and the running gave me a platform from which I could take on retention with no stagnancy issues. Then I just followed Ron's guidelines which I took to almost without a hitch. It's been easier than I would have guessed. -Yoda

1. Freestyle yoga chi gong bagua 2. Meridian Chi Kung ala dumai.org 3. Qi Robotics ala choosinglife.com (includes B.K. Frantzis' qigong in it and lauphing to 5 chakras with different frequencies) 4. Shengzhen 5. Star gazing, or staring at a dot until it becomes the entire universe and you get so relaxed that breathing goes down to twice per minute or less, and everything makes sense. You dont even have to meditate on psych channels, it happens auticmaticaly. 6.Standing 7. Self massage 8. keeping a (dream/revelation) journal 9.Reading the book "healing of the nations" By Dennis Forsythe 10. Oh yeah, and for those of you who never heard it, Ken Cohen's breathing CD is OFF THE HOOK, B.K.'s is good too. Havent heared Dennis Lewis' or the Silent ground chick's but those are likely good too.

Death, its in the news, in the air, on our minds lately. I was reading a recent posting from Yoda. Let me quote it 'People are upside down re: death. They think it is bad and embarrassing. The truth is that the death transition is the funnest thing anyone will ever experience... going from a very intense point of focus through the body to a much more cosmic perspective is just plain fun. Keep in mind when the Buddha got foodpoisoning or Krishna got shot with an arrow, they thanked the perpetrators for helping make for a speedy transition. They "forgave" the perpetrators but also explained that no forgiveness really was called for, given that it is the return to our original home. Yoda said it in the last movie and he was dead on. All this paranoia inspires further negativity. Did you read in Discover Magazine, that people who have near death experiences are happier and their brainwave functioning is significantly altered? (a depressed person takes 60 minutes to reach REM sleep, a normal person takes 90 minutes, and a "refreshed" soul takes 110minutes on average--much happier and never again fearful of death. To them it's funny to see people speaking negatively on the subject or being fearful.) Most significantly, heavy duty mourning prepaves more difficult transitions for anybody who transmits mournfulness--people are effectively inviting more difficult transitions into their own experience by transmitting such vibrations' Interesting perspective. Worthwhile, but probably dangerous to give someone who's currently in mourning. Who do we cry and mourn for? Our loss or the corpses? Hmmnn. I've always admired the concept of an Irish funeral. A happy drunken party as a send off. Isn't that closer to what we want. There are amazingly parallel lines between the Jewish Orthodox view of what happens to the person after death and Tibetan thoughts. Both have a bewildered soul panicked and off balance after death. Hanging around for a few days. So a person is always w/ the body. I was at Tao Mountain when Ron Diana died. There was a nice meditation session for him. I was also at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram when the head of the sect came to visit. He had recently had a severe stroke. He was paralyzed and could barely speak. I'd like to report there was a happy light coming from his eyes, but they seemed pained and clouded. I think RJ said or requoted, "So, how will that help when you no longer have a body?" Beyond the feel good stuff. That is a question we might have to answer. In the Healing Tao Fusion practices, work is done to define the energy body, ie 8 major channels. Get the Shen organized. To what extent does a cohesive energy body, dream practice, death practice Powa really prepare us for the great unknown. Should we worry? Or is the great unknown what happens to us every day? Peace Michael

We have to be careful about what we chose to believe in. If the world is a dream we all are dreaming together.. then Ronny, are you doing something beneficial or harmful to this dream? Let's not meditate chemtrails into exsistence please. Just my 2 metaphysical cents.

first of all, shengzhen is the best qi gong period. michael winn steals from shengzhen without giving adequite cedit. Second best in my opinion is the Dumai(.org) chi kung. This will show you how to open the chi flow to WHERE YOU NEED IT EXACTLY. It has DEEP postures following the meridians and tendons and muscles in a balanced way to liberate our chi. PM me... second. i wasted mad time holding in my semen when I had waaaay to much. I read from other masters that you should figure out how often it is okay to ejaculate without feeling "depleted". So, for someone my age, (20) I can cum like every few days and that will keep me at equilibrium. It also depends on variables such as how much physical movement and chilling with hot ladies you have been doing, as this will pump up your jing. I am arguing that it is NOT okay to keep infinite semen in there (at my age at least) because it is IMBALANCED CHIA AND WINN YOU FUCKERS! God damn it. aaaaaaahhhhh sorry. Now, as far as people thinking they understand the tao, you dont. Now if you realize that, then you can start to understand it. And one more thing. About drugs, I thought it was interesting in Chia's latest book on Secret teachings of the tao teh ching, it says that drugs are like a fals orgasm, that depelete jing...intersting way to look at it. It is okay to do drugs as long as you REALIZE this, just as it is okay to by angry as long as you realize (on an internal level) that your liver (or whatever) is the cause of it and you intend to fix it. You could spend a lifetime and a fortune trying to get enlightened...but some teachers stand out. Props to Gilles Marin. And as far as dream yoga (ron) I feel like in order for you to really master this you gotta be really damn enlightened and always thinking about sex and chi flow at the same time. Agreed? Its all about the biofeedback, so relax and go witht he biofeedback. Make the illness itself into your medicine. -Lu Dong Bin Illness is the best medicine. -Me

Peter, Yea I like this type of stuff too I was watching some show and I found it fascinating that some scientists have determined that they seem to inevitably find what they are looking for when trying to uncover how the Universe was created! This is something I have thought a lot about. Beyond experience, practice, and spiritual states there is this fluidity or consciousness that functions that way. It is beyond Yuan Shen and beyond the Primordial Bliss. Yet it is this and even ego. Infinite totality. It is the unknowable that just is. Not knowing where it has come from or where it will go. In the mustard seed and in our hearts. It is absolutely amazing to me to consider how we are able to be as divided parts with different timescales and experiences. What an amazing thing this "dream of life". How amazing the mystery! Pinch me, Matt PS. link to a version of Chuang Tzu - http://www.exploretaoism.com/Chuangtzu.htm

Ok, excluding RJ..the self proclaimed mastah of Taoist bonk toking and big draws...how many of the TB's smoke weed? I started smoking week as a troubled teeneager..I think I was like 13,14 the first time. It was an amazing and frightning experience. I felt that I was awake in a dream but that life itself was the dream. I kept saying over and over "It's all a dream...it's all a dream." So it was kind of tough to go back to whatever I thought was cool in middle school or high school after that. I would say I basically wasted my high school years on weed and playing video games. I sort of got my act together but then became a near daily pot smoker when I started college. the funny thing I got into meditation, qigong etc. along the way but I still had these weed smoking friends who came around. The last time I smoked was a little over 2 years ago. It was some really good shit. I went outside and looked up at the stars and they were all flying around. In Az you go out and night and you can just see everything. I remember looking at the sky thinking how all the stars are no longer statinary..they can now fly..and maybe the earth is going tos tart flying around to another part of the universe all of a sudden..gravity is no more! So that was it..I know prefer to deal in reality. But maybe some of you have a different opnion of the stuff? I have written posts on the HT board over the years about my experiences wth different drugs. I would say mushrooms(Pscylocibin) would be the one I would deem most spiritual. It was really out of body for me. but I wouldn't ever recommend weed/shrooms to anyone for any genuine spiritual insight. It's insanely fun/dangerous entertainment at best. So what's the general opnion..more or less a waste of time? Fun on occasion.. I am not talking about health here. Health wise it's all crap .I mean in terms of life in general..your outlook and shit..

HEY RON JEREMY IS COOL, MAN, HE BROUGHT ME ALL THAT DREAM BEER.

Michael, Funny you should bring that practice to mind--I had a dream about my childhood dog, Toby, and his death last night. I loved him dearly and that practice that you just described carried me through all that. That happened before I believed in a non-physical realm so the dream revisited his death with me being much more calm about the whole thing, knowing that we'd be pals forever. I did the practice for several months and it was very fortifying and strengthening and I was quite fanatical about it too. Felt like a samurai gathering strength to avenge his death even though enemy was old age. I knew what I was doing didn't make sense. When forgetfulness drifted in, I ditched the practice. -Yoda

I guess it's kind of pretentious to assume this exists just because I had a dream about it, but I figured if anybody would know if there's an 8th chakra, y'all would. I took a journey through the chakras yoga class probably about five or six years ago, and I ripped out the pictures of the seven chakras (with the sanskrit) from the manual, and they are up on my wall in order. In my dream I saw those seven chakra sheets of mine, but on top there was a new one, which was this beautiful pink flower with a million petals. It looked rose-like, only bigger and with more petals...

oh brother I have faith in ye, man. I dont believe compassion is the way to enlightenment. it might serve to open the heart... maybe, I dont know enough to say for sure anything, but I think it would open the heart... but at the expense of other things, you know? I will go through your blog.... I remember you tlked about being on a battlefield and shit... was that all like a psychedlic event or was it like a dream... i.e. thoughts can become pretty vivid in deep states of meditation, and I bet that might be just such a consequence. but you might know best.... maybe the answer lies in your blog and I missed it...

difference between lin, chia, other tantrics?
Lozen replied to GrandTrinity's topic in General Discussion
I haven't had a lot of experience with tantra at all, other than just trying to focus massive amounts of sexual energy and letting it cycle through my entire body instead of just staying in the lower chakras. But I'm really intrigued by non-Buddhist and non-Hindu tantric practices, because in my *extremely limited* experience with tantra, it's actually quite difficult physically, it's quite exhausting, and in my experience and people I've talked to about it, you actually start to get a little grossed out by the actual physical act of sex, sex and food starts to become dirty, everything seems so mundane because you are in this higher physical plane, and your concentration is in your inner body, watching your own winds, etc. It seemed unbalanced to me, but the argument that I've heard is that we're so often MORE focused on our lower chakras so the focus on the higher ones brings some kind of balance in a theoretical way. I'm really curious about how the whole lucid dreaming thing applies to women if anybody knows. I've been working on strengthening my control over my dreaming body (aka aura) and trying to move it up and down and around...it's kind of difficult and is sort of wavering a bit and hard for me to do it consistently. But what I'll feel is TONS of chi, and it feels like I've slept for hours even if I just do it for a short period of time...but sometimes I do fall asleep when I do it, and then I'll have like five million dreams--I mean one time I had seven dreams, and they were like dreams within dreams, like I'd have a dream and then try to write it down in another dream and realize I'm still in a dream. It was pretty bizarre. But the content of them (except for the one where I was flying with my basket picking oak trees off of the top of the tree) was fairly mundane. -

difference between lin, chia, other tantrics?
GrandTrinity replied to GrandTrinity's topic in General Discussion
beyond that, or within it, I recently learned about the hindu ideas of the yama and niyama. I learned about how virtue is such a major part of the hindu/yoga/tantra. I also learned about the 3 supreme deities and how they relate to Generation, Operation and Destruction. And of course, how speech and how potenial moral actions help or hinder the G-O-D trinity. What are your thoughts on this and hinduism? In what other traditions is there tantra? Hindu, taost/esoteric buddhist....very esoteric/potentialy dangerous stuff, this semen retention? Perhaps it is not dangerous if you know how to ground the energy--you will make it. Interesting how Ron mentions Lucid Dreaming is a key. Ron, how much success have you had with this? What are your dreams like? Heaven? I doubt it. We all have lucid dreams we just dont remember it, no? or we are less lucid than we would like to be? this is crazy to think about, no? the energy body is the key to lucid dreaming? no? what do you use as a dream-cue? your hands? how about hands touching face?(that activates sooooo many nerves right? so maybe thats a good way?) Or how about a color like purple? My friend uses a window or door as a dream cue. -
Things that help me is getting regular excercise (I make myself do at least fifteen minutes a day), going to bed at the same time each day (if possible), taking calming herbs or doing breathing excercises or meditations before I go to bed, and finding some way to process the events of the day BEFORE I go to bed helps a LOT... Like if I had a stressful day I will obsessively update my livejournal or try to let it go through meditation--focus on it and then drop it somehow, or let it dissolve... My favorite herb ever is pedicularis aka wood betony cos it gets my mind to shut the fuck up once in a while so I actually CAN sleep and when I do sleep to not have to dream whatever it is I'm obsesing over. Not eating heavy foods after dark helps a lot, I try to make sure my last meal is before 6 PM if possible, and after that I just eat light foods, fruit, herbal tea, stuff like that. (Not that I am consistent, I just ate zoom balls, When I get up I have a glass of lemon water and a glass of regular water, followed by a piece of fruit... seems to get me going... and then I'll eat some kind of grain breakfast...I have been doing sun greetings every morning but just stepping outside really helps a lot. I agree that sleeping in complete darkness (except the moonlight) helps a lot. Vitamin B6 seems to help too, making sure I'm eating stuff with b vitamins. Any kind of morning ritual seems to help--some kind of routine, whether it's writing in my journal every morning, or doing qi gong and stretching every morning or even just looking at my calendar, watering my plants, and making tea. Just seems to tell me it's morning if I do it regularly. Another thing that was really helpful for me was focusing on specific hours that I was having problems and looking at the TCM clock for biocardial rhtyhmns. So for example if I'm supposed to get up between 5 and 7 AM when the kidney is WEAKEST, and I just can't do it, I need to be looking at my water element, eat foods which nurture kidney, look at things that deplete kidney jing (stress, fear, overwork, insecurity, intoxicants, heavy metals, too much protein, too much sweet food, too much semen loss in men and women bearing too many children), etc. etc. Just something to look at. Below is the chart, the organ mentioned is the one that is strongest during that period of time, and the one 12 hours later is weakest, make sense? (Example, 3 to 5 AM lunch is strongest, urinary bladder is weakest). Let me know if you need more. 3 A.M.- 5 A.M. Lung 5 A.M.- 7 A.M. Large Intestine 7 A.M.- 9 A.M. Stomach 9 A.M.- 11A.M.
