Death, its in the news, in the air, on our minds lately. I was reading a recent posting from Yoda. Let me quote it 'People are upside down re: death. They think it is bad and embarrassing. The truth is that the death transition is the funnest thing anyone will ever experience... going from a very intense point of focus through the body to a much more cosmic perspective is just plain fun. Keep in mind when the Buddha got foodpoisoning or Krishna got shot with an arrow, they thanked the perpetrators for helping make for a speedy transition. They "forgave" the perpetrators but also explained that no forgiveness really was called for, given that it is the return to our original home. Yoda said it in the last movie and he was dead on. All this paranoia inspires further negativity. Did you read in Discover Magazine, that people who have near death experiences are happier and their brainwave functioning is significantly altered? (a depressed person takes 60 minutes to reach REM sleep, a normal person takes 90 minutes, and a "refreshed" soul takes 110minutes on average--much happier and never again fearful of death. To them it's funny to see people speaking negatively on the subject or being fearful.) Most significantly, heavy duty mourning prepaves more difficult transitions for anybody who transmits mournfulness--people are effectively inviting more difficult transitions into their own experience by transmitting such vibrations' Interesting perspective. Worthwhile, but probably dangerous to give someone who's currently in mourning. Who do we cry and mourn for? Our loss or the corpses? Hmmnn. I've always admired the concept of an Irish funeral. A happy drunken party as a send off. Isn't that closer to what we want. There are amazingly parallel lines between the Jewish Orthodox view of what happens to the person after death and Tibetan thoughts. Both have a bewildered soul panicked and off balance after death. Hanging around for a few days. So a person is always w/ the body. I was at Tao Mountain when Ron Diana died. There was a nice meditation session for him. I was also at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram when the head of the sect came to visit. He had recently had a severe stroke. He was paralyzed and could barely speak. I'd like to report there was a happy light coming from his eyes, but they seemed pained and clouded. I think RJ said or requoted, "So, how will that help when you no longer have a body?" Beyond the feel good stuff. That is a question we might have to answer. In the Healing Tao Fusion practices, work is done to define the energy body, ie 8 major channels. Get the Shen organized. To what extent does a cohesive energy body, dream practice, death practice Powa really prepare us for the great unknown. Should we worry? Or is the great unknown what happens to us every day? Peace Michael

first of all, shengzhen is the best qi gong period. michael winn steals from shengzhen without giving adequite cedit. Second best in my opinion is the Dumai(.org) chi kung. This will show you how to open the chi flow to WHERE YOU NEED IT EXACTLY. It has DEEP postures following the meridians and tendons and muscles in a balanced way to liberate our chi. PM me... second. i wasted mad time holding in my semen when I had waaaay to much. I read from other masters that you should figure out how often it is okay to ejaculate without feeling "depleted". So, for someone my age, (20) I can cum like every few days and that will keep me at equilibrium. It also depends on variables such as how much physical movement and chilling with hot ladies you have been doing, as this will pump up your jing. I am arguing that it is NOT okay to keep infinite semen in there (at my age at least) because it is IMBALANCED CHIA AND WINN YOU FUCKERS! God damn it. aaaaaaahhhhh sorry. Now, as far as people thinking they understand the tao, you dont. Now if you realize that, then you can start to understand it. And one more thing. About drugs, I thought it was interesting in Chia's latest book on Secret teachings of the tao teh ching, it says that drugs are like a fals orgasm, that depelete jing...intersting way to look at it. It is okay to do drugs as long as you REALIZE this, just as it is okay to by angry as long as you realize (on an internal level) that your liver (or whatever) is the cause of it and you intend to fix it. You could spend a lifetime and a fortune trying to get enlightened...but some teachers stand out. Props to Gilles Marin. And as far as dream yoga (ron) I feel like in order for you to really master this you gotta be really damn enlightened and always thinking about sex and chi flow at the same time. Agreed? Its all about the biofeedback, so relax and go witht he biofeedback. Make the illness itself into your medicine. -Lu Dong Bin Illness is the best medicine. -Me

Peter, Yea I like this type of stuff too I was watching some show and I found it fascinating that some scientists have determined that they seem to inevitably find what they are looking for when trying to uncover how the Universe was created! This is something I have thought a lot about. Beyond experience, practice, and spiritual states there is this fluidity or consciousness that functions that way. It is beyond Yuan Shen and beyond the Primordial Bliss. Yet it is this and even ego. Infinite totality. It is the unknowable that just is. Not knowing where it has come from or where it will go. In the mustard seed and in our hearts. It is absolutely amazing to me to consider how we are able to be as divided parts with different timescales and experiences. What an amazing thing this "dream of life". How amazing the mystery! Pinch me, Matt PS. link to a version of Chuang Tzu - http://www.exploretaoism.com/Chuangtzu.htm

oh brother I have faith in ye, man. I dont believe compassion is the way to enlightenment. it might serve to open the heart... maybe, I dont know enough to say for sure anything, but I think it would open the heart... but at the expense of other things, you know? I will go through your blog.... I remember you tlked about being on a battlefield and shit... was that all like a psychedlic event or was it like a dream... i.e. thoughts can become pretty vivid in deep states of meditation, and I bet that might be just such a consequence. but you might know best.... maybe the answer lies in your blog and I missed it...

Things that help me is getting regular excercise (I make myself do at least fifteen minutes a day), going to bed at the same time each day (if possible), taking calming herbs or doing breathing excercises or meditations before I go to bed, and finding some way to process the events of the day BEFORE I go to bed helps a LOT... Like if I had a stressful day I will obsessively update my livejournal or try to let it go through meditation--focus on it and then drop it somehow, or let it dissolve... My favorite herb ever is pedicularis aka wood betony cos it gets my mind to shut the fuck up once in a while so I actually CAN sleep and when I do sleep to not have to dream whatever it is I'm obsesing over. Not eating heavy foods after dark helps a lot, I try to make sure my last meal is before 6 PM if possible, and after that I just eat light foods, fruit, herbal tea, stuff like that. (Not that I am consistent, I just ate zoom balls, When I get up I have a glass of lemon water and a glass of regular water, followed by a piece of fruit... seems to get me going... and then I'll eat some kind of grain breakfast...I have been doing sun greetings every morning but just stepping outside really helps a lot. I agree that sleeping in complete darkness (except the moonlight) helps a lot. Vitamin B6 seems to help too, making sure I'm eating stuff with b vitamins. Any kind of morning ritual seems to help--some kind of routine, whether it's writing in my journal every morning, or doing qi gong and stretching every morning or even just looking at my calendar, watering my plants, and making tea. Just seems to tell me it's morning if I do it regularly. Another thing that was really helpful for me was focusing on specific hours that I was having problems and looking at the TCM clock for biocardial rhtyhmns. So for example if I'm supposed to get up between 5 and 7 AM when the kidney is WEAKEST, and I just can't do it, I need to be looking at my water element, eat foods which nurture kidney, look at things that deplete kidney jing (stress, fear, overwork, insecurity, intoxicants, heavy metals, too much protein, too much sweet food, too much semen loss in men and women bearing too many children), etc. etc. Just something to look at. Below is the chart, the organ mentioned is the one that is strongest during that period of time, and the one 12 hours later is weakest, make sense? (Example, 3 to 5 AM lunch is strongest, urinary bladder is weakest). Let me know if you need more. 3 A.M.- 5 A.M. Lung 5 A.M.- 7 A.M. Large Intestine 7 A.M.- 9 A.M. Stomach 9 A.M.- 11A.M. Spleen 11A.M.- 1 P.M. Heart 1 P.M.- 3 P.M. Small Intestine 3 P.M.- 5 P.M. Urinary Bladder 5 P.M.- 7 P.M. Kidney 7 P.M.- 9 P.M. Pericardium 9 P.M.- 11P.M. Triple Warmer 11P.M.- 1 A.M. Gall Bladder 1 A.M.- 3 A.M. Liver

i agree with everything you said about "dream yoga." i'd like to add a few remarks. i go to the point where i could wake myself up before ejacualting. on the rare occasions i did, i noticed something significant. the semen becomes like water--no sperm present, or very very little. if you successfully transmute the jing (sperm) during practice, it leaves none to ejacualte if you run into trouble, or very little and the energy loss is minimal, perhaps insignificant. daily transmutation keeps you clear and nothing is there to feed the succubi. eventually the neutral space becames vast enough that the succubi cant threaten you. its protection. but they will do their damnedest to keep you from developing to that stage. this is interesting for another reason--this transmuation is not some sort of vague energy work. a physical change takes place. a definite and observable physical change. your very matter is altered. in this case, sperm.

i got chia's book, i got dr lins cd too (which i find easier to follow than chia). where do you learn dream yoga from? yeah i get those women milking me at night from time to time.... succubi huh? damnit.

MAN DA POINT BE THAT WHEN PEOPLE INTERRACT FOR YEARS, EVEN IF JUST THRU A FORRUM, THEN A PSYCHIC ENTITTY ARRISES WHICH PUT YA IN TOUCH WITH THOSE PEOPLE. YA GOTTA UNDERSTAND THAT, IT'S A COMON EXPERIENCE. JUST ABOUT ANY TYPE O STRONG GROUP TEND TO ABUSE NOVICES N RESPECT VETTERANS. WHY SO? BECCAUSE DA VETTERANS HAVE BEEN SUBCONSCIOUSLY PRACTICIN CHI EXCHANGE AMMONG THEM N DA DIFERENCES O THEM CHI HAVE BEEN SOMEWHAT COMBINNED INTO A PSYCHICH CAULDRON. THAT HAPENS IN DA MILITARY, IN JAIL, IN HI SCHOOL, IN A STREET GANG, ETC ETC. N IT HAPENS ALSO IN A FORRUM OVER TIME. NOW IN A FORRUM IT'S MORE DIFICULT TO DO THAT, BUT HERE YA HAVE A FORRUM O CRAZY TAO PRACTITINERS WHO EXPERRIMENT WITH ALL KINDA CRAZY PRACTICES SUCH AS GETTIN INTO FISTFIGHTS N EVVEN SWORD-FIGHTS WITH THEM DREAM-BODIES, THEN THERE YA HAVE DA PSYCCHIC CAULDRON N DA CHI ALCHEMY. SO YA CANOT EXPECT TO CREATE THAT KINDA ALCHEMY IN NO TIME N NO PASSION. FOR EXAMPLE, IF YA HAVENT SEEN DA TAO WARS OVER DA HEALIN TAO FORRUM BACK WHEN DA DRAGON MASTER WIFE DIED, YA HAVE MISSED SOME BIG EXAMPLE O PSYCHIC BLOWS EXCHANGED OVER A WEB FORRUM. LOOK I HAVE ABUSED A LOT O HT MEMBERS, SO IF PIETRO FEELS HARRASSIN TO YA, WELL YA *JUST* DONT KNOW HOW HARRASSIN I CAN BE WHEN I SEE DA FUN N DA POINT IN DOIN IT. BUT FOR YOU I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN KIND N GENTLE BECAUSE I THINK YA TEND TO BE A KIND N GENTLE PERSON YERSELF N ALSO TEND TO DA DEPPRESIVE SIDE, SO I DONT SEE ANY USEFULNES IN HARASIN YA OR INSULTIN YA. BUT IF I DID, IT'D BE *JUST* AN EXCHANGE O CHI, JUST A PHASE O DA FUSION O DA ELLEMENTS, DA ONLY WAY TO JUDGE DA WHOLE PROCESS BE, *IF* N ONCE YA GET DA END RESSULT, THEN YALL KNOW THAT ALL WARS WERE ALL INGREDDIENTS FOR DA FINAL PEACE. SO LETS NOT BE AFFRAID O FIGHTIN, AS LONG AS WE DONT GET STUCK IN BELIEVIN THAT WAR N EVEN HATRED BE ULTIMMATE N EVER-LASTIN REALLITIES. BYE NOW RJ

SHOULD WE PUT PIETRO INTO DA TAO BUM SLAMMER???
Pietro replied to RON JEREMY's topic in General Discussion
Thanks, but no thanks. I think finally Sean wrote honestly and truthfully and completely in his last post. There was a big misunderstanding on what this site was going to be. Now it has been rectified. But the dream of the Tao Bums does not end here. We are starting a new website, and the only thing I can tell you is that it will be Taoist in nature, and the control will not be in the hands of only one person. I feel this experience has teached us all much, and we will use this underastanding to further our website. At the moment people are starting to mail me, if you want to be informed in this critical moment, when we are choosing the important bits and pieces, and making the first critical decisions please mail me at my gmail account (the address is available from my website) Have a nice practice, Pietro -
But Sean, Is there any way to view the training blogs in the old-style format? I don't enjoy having to click on the "comments" bar just to read someone's comments (although I'm sure I'll get used to it). Re Pietro's comment, I'm not exactly sure what he means in his farewell either, but probably he's referring to his poll and posts about WP Press 1.5. As far as I understand the situation, Pietro was hawking a particular blog/product (Greek to me), and you responded to his initiative unenthusiastically. He then reminded you of his/our/your "group" ideals and promises, but you never answered that post. And without any group discussion and/or warning, you then installed a wonderful but completely different package. I guess that has made Pietro feel a little burnt. I imagine your expressing your wish that 'he one day soon finds a place where his idealism intersects with reality' hasn't helped. Personally, I think you're doing a wonderful job. And by nature I'm more autocratic than communal. And I'm not particularly attracted to the big blog wet dream either. But the merits of your/anyone's selection don't seem to be the point, particularly regarding Pietro's complaints. How do you see the situation? To Pietro: why draw stupid little lines in the sand? Now you've got to go, or eat your words. Pretty silly either way, but I hope you'll stay. Meat to you all, except the vegetarians. Trip

Hi Yoda and thanks for the quick reply! However I think I did not really express myself clearly as these sensations are not of the dream realm, but manifest themselves while trying to fall asleep or when I'm on the verge of entering sleep. So again these are very real sensations and feelings that I experience while lying in my bed and trying to fall asleep.
-
I'll be in class... and I'llbe falling asleep... but since i cant sleep... well I am mastering the art of sleeping with my eyes open.. I'll start to dream... that line between wakefullness and sleep dissappears.. I'll be dreaming, but since my eyes are open... maybe it's like hallicunating... but whatever thoughts I have in my head when I go into this state become vivid and superimposed on reality... ie I'll be reading something on the board, and when the guy next to me hits me to wake me,I'll suddenly see something else totall different on that board... pretty trippy shit....

Bill Bodri's Tao School course in production...
Yoda replied to SheepishLord's topic in General Discussion
Definitely the fundamentals: inner smile, healing sounds, frolics, microcosmic orbit, embracing the tree come to mind. Perhaps Bodri could free associate while flipping through nice, basic chikung books like Way of Qigong by Cohen or Tao of Sex, Health, Longevity by Reid etc. I found WSM to be a brilliant "non-packing" relative to the iron shirt stuff. But anything on iron shirt would be great. Any WSM adaptations, with standing, etc. WSM got me to discover my feet too. I'm hungry for more commentary re: bones, my left big toe, etc. What about my right big toe, anyways? Any WSM like practices for organs? Why the insistance on white light vs other colors? I have a hard time keeping my WSM visualization stable--I sort of have to breathe in the white light and then breath it out. Any suggestions? What does he think of Sean's idea of mentally scrubbing the bones with a bristle brush to lighten/brighten/and stimulate? Max is always saying that emptiness is the main part of WSM--I don't quite get that part. Just visualize that I'm gone--just the landscape where I was sitting?? Also, any celibacy/retention tips like the crane frolic type exercise before bed. I don't know if Bodri has any thoughts on Wang Xiangzhai and his yiquan/stance training but I'd be interested in that. Also his commentary on picking up energy from weather, sun, stars, earth, etc. Anything on sungazing/sunbathing/vitamin D/serotonin/the pineal gland, etc. My WSM seems to be most successful when I'm practicing in total dark or in direct sunlight, for instance. Seems to mix well with sungazing, etc. I don't know if he's familar with Primordial Chi Kung, but moving drills like that, I'd like his input on. Dream practices come to mind as well. I don't think the taobums on our own, have enough buying power to make the book worth it for him, but it sounds like a fantastic book that would have popular appeal to others as well. Maybe Sean could link taobums to it as recommended reading, etc. If the title is something like introduction to basic chi kung and taichi principles it might could appeal to the larger taichi/yoga crowd. Keep us posted! Thanks!!! -Yoda -
Reich had a beautiful, beautiful heart that was connected to his genitals. That is pretty rare these days. If I could accomplish that, I would become a Buddha no problem. 8) The misunderstanding we have here is my fault. When I say "discharge" I am not necessarily referencing ejaculation. It is true that Reich looked down on the Taoists for their holding back semen and from his frame of reference he was correct: dual cultivation as it is usually promoted (transmutation/transformation of lust) is an incorrect method. However, it is also important to note that if your sexual energy isn't "reset" then saving semen in a maniacal fashion is counterproductive. A wet-dream or a fox spirit seducing you is inevitable if there is tension for such events to attach themselves to. In other words, your held tension becomes a handle by which you can be manipulated. Tension is an attachment, if I may be so Buddhist! However, I am not advising Pietro's "water method" which will indeed turn one into an arrow shot into the night if taken too far. Still, one must be realistic and not go all-out to accomplish the 100 days if a proper foundation is not laid. Fix your income, fix your health, and do good deeds and don't do bad ones. Fix your sexual shit. Then, go hardcore.

In his introduction to Entry into the Realm of Reality: The Guide Thomas Cleary gives an interesting explanation of the origin of doctrinal dispute within Buddhism and the source of teachings which do not have the weight of recorded history behind them. As interesting and compelling as this is it doesn't 'prove' or 'disprove' anything. As it is said life has more imagination than we can dream so it won't be limited nor constrained by neat classifications and recorded history. This is probably deliberate as it almost seems like some sort or IQ test, that is Inner Quest test is being set - we pay our money and we make are choice. That's enough of the cliches ... rex

I must admit, I am almost envious of your new gift. A jade pillow! Really! It's hard for some to imagine that such a small, earthly treasure could do so much. I must hear more about it as time passes...very rarely am I interested in things as much as this-Yet a soul that recognizes the subtle and energetic properties of semi-precious (how do they get lower ranks than rubies, sapphires, and the like; I'll never know) stone knows all too well how it can benefit lifetimes and strengthen many aspects of experience. And pertaining to your dream-I have one question: What feelings did you experience before Merlin appeared? While being chased, that is...running through the jungle, what made you feel as if you needed to run? -Jessica

Great work! I love seeing big returns in people's practice. I have the sense that sungazing juices up whatever you are into. I can find lost items, do my WSM better, dream practice is showing up on the screen, etc. So I'm not surprised that it can juice up the more advanced practices that I am not familiar with. My last session the sun was a bit too bright for me, so I just faced the general direction and sang the Gayatri for a few minutes and then I could look at it directly with no discomfort. It felt like I had to get up to vibrational speed to do so. Obviously, if it's uncomfortable don't force yourself. I'm doing about 10 minutes at a stretch on days that the sun is available, otherwise I'll cloudgaze in the direction of the sun for 30 minutes. It is recommended to meditate, stand, walk around outside for at least 10 minutes after sungazing to come down and assimilate. I like the ancient precedence to this practice--it's very natural and "pagan" One of the byproducts that I've heard of from this practice is a strongly developed hardiness. Being able to stand outside barefoot in the snow is often cited by longtime sungazers as a byproduct. I want to develop that warrior hardiness. There's a great scene in the Walking with Dinosaurs/Walking with Cavemen BBC series where the neanderthal dude falls off a cliff, regains consciousness, straightens out his bent fingers and gets back on the hunt. (Apparently, neanderthals are often found with more healed broken bones than a profession rodeo rider.) -Yoda 8)
