I also share similar views, on dreams, dreams are real and strongly believe it to be another realm. I’ve been exploring lucid dreaming and astral projection for a while now and have been keeping a dream journal, when i read through the dream journal, I realized that some dreams are repetitive and similar, when I put all the similar dreams together it tells a clear message. I’m in the habit of ceasing to call it dreams I now call it heaven, because I believe the dream realm to be a spirit realm and as spirits in a mortal body, our true home is the heaven We can access this heaven consciously when we learn how to be lucid and aware of it. one other thing I’ve noticed is meeting people in dream that you’ve never met in life, sometime the subconscious borrows a form that is in your mind and uses it a symbol to pass a message, a celebrity in a dream might be a symbol of a personality of a scandal. All in all dreams are a good way to communicate with the other side and bring information that is unknown to this realm.

Karma, reincarnation, ignorance, wisdom and deliverance
alchemystical posted a topic in General Discussion
If you stop for a moment and consider the fact that you, right now, are embodied on this planet you could then deduce there is a 50/50 chance you could once again find yourself in a similar predicament. In previous times stretching back far beyond history it appeared that the knowledge (not belief) of reincarnation was widespread and self evident which is in sharp contrast to todays scientific materialist times that believe you spin the wheel once and thats it so get all you can get with no thought for the consequence. First I'm wondering your thoughts on all of this in terms of the wheel of life and what it means to be and second the oh so interesting question of karma for if one subscribes to the principle that life is a dream within a dream and we keep living and dying in a cycle until we wise up then you can't help but wonder: Is it really fair to be "punished" via the circumstances of this life, into which you are born with ignorance, if you have no awareness of what you did the last time round? In a sense thats like compounding and its easy to see how the fools become more foolish with each step because its not like you get a guide book which says "Here's what not to do this time round" as you're thrust into circumstance which ostensibly is engineered to balance the scales which you yourself imbalanced in the first place. Kind of a crooked deal, n'cest pas? Like going into a casino. Getting $100 worth of free chips, hitting the jackpot and then being told you can't withdraw it until you've gambled again for a certain period of time and then finding yourself in debt and having to wash the dishes for the other patrons instead. At least that would be fairer because you'd know the reasoning behind it all and could've very easily said "Keep your free chips and the winnings I generated, I'm out" as you strolled out of the establishment but in the game of life there is no such option. Obviously this is a very wide reaching topic so if I've inspired you to jump off on a tangent feel free to share it so we can all explore it as all paths lead to the same place anyway and this way we might see some delightful sights we otherwise would not have. -
That reminds me of what Phillip K. Dick wrote about in the original Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? that inspired Blade Runner. The world went to hell and the few animals that remained were signs of wealth and luxury, and many had synthetic imitations to show they had pets, as a foreshadowing to the Replicants for humans. McKenna is a fantastic mind and I can read his books and listen to his lectures day after day. I do not believe this is the kind of cybernetic world he imagined or the resurgence of the Divine Feminine he and Robert Anton Wilson spoke about, but I do believe that they both still hit upon it with frightening insight that we would do best to revisit before moving forward.

I'd say experience is available. As consciousness is all-pervading, one has the potential of assuming any role, including that of being an instrument through which life seems to do its living... or dying. But even that presupposes an actual other living or dying apart from consciousness. Realizing the source of consciousness, is to be beyond knowledge and ignorance, departures and arrivals, life and death, experience and nothingness. The "I" which wakes from dream or sleep exists prior to the dreaming or waking experiences. That "I" declares it slept well within its source of not-knowing-ness. The direct experience that you are is indisputable. Being that from which this sense arises, is ineffable.

regarding if 'the soul' knows the difference . let's just call the faculty the self, for simplicity. There must be some function in the self that allows it to distinguish memories of real events from dreams, games and fantasies . This faculty, at times, and in some doesnt work as well as it could . Usually, when we make a mistake , we can soon rectify it ; " Didn't I see Bill yesterday ? ..... < thinks > , oh no, that was a dream . " A friend of mine has it bad, and different , they have constructed their own version of some events that are just not true . I even explained it to them and they agreed, and came to agreement with me about what really happened . A year later they have slipped back into their old 'memory' . Programming . Thats what happens to us . We dont really learn deeply, unless its through programming or multiple sense recognition. People have been programming each other ever since modern HSS. We get evidence of it from the caves at Lascaux and onwards up to the preset day ; generally in what we call an 'initiation ceremony' - dramatic ritual, 'theatre' , noise, colour and image, repetition, physical actions and sensations, etc . all come together to make changes in the psyche . people have known this for a long time , basically, it is trying to emulate a 'life experience' , emulate something that happened in 'real life' , but in a way so that it sinks in, becomes part of the programme . Nowadays they use the same principles in VR / AR learning , they have discovered this is a super quick and efficient way of 'teaching ' and programming people . Playing a computer game for hours on end is very similar and the more bells and ribbons on it ; colours, flashing lights, sounds , 3D etc . the more effect it is . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_reality and when you get really good 'on screen ' ; https://www.defencejobs.gov.au/jobs/army/drone-operator

I think it's fair to say that playing Super Mario Brothers has contributed to my desire to eat mushrooms, climb into tunnels, and try to save princesses. Likewise The Legend of Zelda has beckoned me to traverse the fields and forests in search of enchanted items. Not just games but all works of fantasy e.g. by Jules Verne, J.R.R Tolkien, George Lucas, Shakespeare, Gilgamesh, for many, many generations. I love the idea that even experiences purely in a dream state can be just as formative as "real-world." I'd say even more so, in some cases. I see a major disconnect from this tradition in the gamer subculture that engages in multiplayer death-match first person shooter styles. The element of story and mystery is totally sold out in exchange for pure carnage, and cold, tactical predation. It's sad and a plague on the psyche and thus society.

Science says that energy-information is not lost but just transformed. So in science this is considered a random lost with a 180 degree shift in spacetime into a white hole. But science is an "external measurement" system inherently limited by "time-frequency uncertainty" or Fourier Uncertainty. Meditation instead is the "highest technology of all technologies" (qigong master Yan Xin) because instead of time-frequency uncertainty there is the Law of Phase Harmony in control (Louis de Broglie's most famous discovery - most important discovery I mean, as he stated). So yes there is a LITERAL spacetime vortex. This is described in chapter 11 of the book Taoist Yoga: alchemy and immortality. So I had this happen to me and I stopped my meditation and turned to a quest to discover the true meaning - unfortunately I did not read the book in detail - and that answer eluded me for 10 years!! So essentially when the Shen spirit leaves the body it HAS to be "covered" by Yuan Qi (a spacetime bubble). Even qigong master Chunyi Lin said that one time he did too much healing and so he experienced this same dizziness and so he had to have his advanced students teach Level 3 while he recharged his qi through meditation. So I call this the difference between General Relativity and Special Relativity - again using science as an analogy. So with special relativity you maintain a constant speed without acceleration - I think that's the basics of it. So this is the same as the spiritual ego maintaining Samadhi as Pranja or Wisdom awareness as is required in Mahayana Buddhism. So for example Poonjaji described creating multiple Yang Shen bodies - bilocation - read his memoir, "Nothing Ever Happened." He appeared at his birthday parties - multiple of his bodies - since his different students wanted him at their birthday parties. But Poonjaji was not consciously aware that he did this! He found out later. So in Mahayana Buddhism they require that the yogi remains consciously aware via the spiritual ego - so there has to be a constant "upgrading" of the light - like a strobe light - the light has to be turned around. This is called the Quantum Zeno Effect in western science. So you can then prevent the "collapse" of the wavefunction back into a linear spacetime direction with gravity. Instead you maintain the 5th dimension as nonlocal awareness being merged with the Light as spiritual awareness. So qigong master Jim Nance http://guidingqi.com described this ability well. So he said - I have his direct quote on my blog - but I'll just paraphrase - it is like maintaining a stable photograph. But while that stable photograph is maintained then the Emptiness as Energy does the Healing on its own. So you are relying on the Emptiness as the Yuan Qi spacetime vortex to do the perfect healing for you. So for example if you have a precognitive vision - this is a dream that is MORE REAL than being awake. But you still have to go "out of samadhi" back into left-brain dominant consciousness to then analyze what it means - in relation to your "current" time frame. Maybe you will do this - or maybe not. Or there is the example of the most famous Buddhist master of Thailand - Phra Acharn Mun. So in his free biography - it is described how his meditation buddy was levitating. But as soon as he realized he was meditation (his left brain consciousness becoming dominant) then his body fell back down. So he had to train to maintain his samadhi as awareness in right-brain dominance - by turning the light around. So like a strobe light - he recharged the light as a coherent frequency resonance - and so he was awareness as Wisdom prajna that he was levitating. But as Master Nan, Huai-chin points out - these spiritual abilities are all still tricks while the Emptiness remains the only eternal awareness - as Ramana Maharshi also points out. So the end of the Taoist Yoga book states that the Yang Shen then dissolves or dissipates back into the formless awareness - the cosmic Yuan Qi. So it is the Emptiness itself that DECIDES when a Yang Shen will appear or not. So the more a person meditates then the more their body EMBODIES the Emptiness - or as qigong master Chunyi Lin http://springforestqigong.com has stated - his body is just an Empty Vessel for the Qi energy. So as Jim Nance told me - he had to train to let the Emptiness do the healing - instead of his conscious mind doing the healing. This is the difference between Siddhis and Shakti as India yogis recognize. Or the difference between psychic energy (yin qi) and spiritual healing (Yuan Qi).

I wonder if the same imprints caused by conditioning in early childhood are also caused by exposure to video games? Does the soul know the difference, really, between actuality and a video game scenario? Are internal reactions to stimulus of lesser impact because they're artificially created?. I don't know, but I suspect not. Or does the soul even know the difference between a nighttime dream and a daytime occurrence? Is it possible that our currently manifested self is a mixture of not only externally caused imprints (by parents, punishment, etc) but also dream-caused imprints? (Please just go along with the 'soul' concept, although it infers duality. You know what I'm talking about ) I bring this up because of today's mass shooting in El Paso, TX. Apparently the shooter posted some right winged stuff; he posted it to a like- minded website. On that particular site, there are not only right wing extremists, but extremists who use expressions such as those used in video gaming. In today's particular case, he posted before he went out to shoot, and there were remarks like 'Rack up those points, bro' - things like that in response. Perhaps the 'rack up the points' was a common phrase within the gaming circles. I'm not a soccer mom. I'm not here to put down video games. But damn! Is there any chance that the mass shooters of today could well have been negatively imprinted when younger by video games? Probably someone's done a study on this - but I'm guessing we're more creative thinkers....

Ive always put a lot of weight into dreams, paid them a great deal of attention. I think because I loved to dream so much- and I tried to make my life like the spirit I got from dreaming. Over the years since childhood Ive held the belief that these dreams are not of my design, and since my initiation I have had that confirmed by being given words and ideas that I had never heard of. Most of my dreams do seem suited for me, and when someone appears in them that I know, I wonder if it is them, or their shadow memory. Ive dreamed of people I don't know as well, famous people- and wondered the same thing. Basing my ideas on the infinity that I now grasp, I recognize that most often dreams are my own design, visited by what would appear to be a sliver of other people, but not them themselves. As my initiation was of Chesed, I have focused a lot of attention on mercy, love and kindness- to an obsessive level. I have observed the world and imagined how it could be were these our true motivators. Not too long ago I was asked by a power from elsewhere whether to destroy the world since it was not living up to this idea of kindness, to which I said no, that would be unkind, and there is enough kindness that it does exist. I wasn't certain until last night that this might have been honestly asked of me, when I had another dream that asked me for advice. In this new dream I was put into a world where my actions began the sequence of how we act and treat living things. I was being tricked into acting violently when it occurred to me that there was deception, and stopped what I was doing, which changed the tone of the interaction with the people there. It was revealed to me that these Gods, or the Gods that governed this realm, like excellence, and they were dissatisfied with the progress of innovation and invention, citing that most people are poor imitations of truly creative people. I misinterpreted what was being said, and thought that there was some judgement being made on humanity, and I suggested that they destroy the lower 3/4s of our species and force the upper crust to carry forward- they stopped me and said "We wont, because there is still money in the others" and it occurred to me that they meant that there is the potential for greatness in all of us- something that I had initially declared on my opening years of initiation. I then saw some of the members of this Heaven and said "You could reincarnate, if what you see offends you, and renew your faith in our struggle for greatness" to which they began to walk out on a terrace to await reincarnation. As they did this I heard great singing voices and recognized that these people were extremely talented folk, and that is when I recognized that the Gods of this Heaven appreciate great artistry.

This is the first ive looked at this thread, and ive only looked at the most recent posts. From those, i see that The Dao Bums is alive, well, and kickin'! Of the few posts i just read. From liminal luke, ilumairen, sean, walker, nungali, manitou, ct, steve---the authors of those posts would make up a super mod dream team. Like walker reminded us of Word is bond. It certainly is. And World is Bond. That's my take and i know I'm not alone in thinking this world is for bonding. Forging unbreakable bonds that endure all this world can throw at ya. This type of bond looks out for each other, this way there are no weak links. These types of bonds shine eternal. For some of the best bonds found anywhere--we're in the right place. Right here on The Dao Bums.

How do we view the subjective? Reality is not entirely a phantom or non-existent illusion. Some traditions hold this view. I cannot agree with this and I don't think Buddhists hold this view of non-existent illusive universe as held by early traditions in India. To expand on what I stated earlier, following teachings from KS are my experience and belief on what is real and unreal. The key thing is the example given below comparing the universe to a non-existent dream or mirage. Per this view universe and all the objects in it do not 'really' exist. This is a different type of illusion (maya) than the one that is held in traditions like KS. KS and most tantric traditions I am familiar with reject such type of non existent illusion which rejects the reality of existence at the practical level. Why do they reject and what is held 'real' is explained below. It is entirely consistent with my views. Though I would agree the reality is subjective, I cannot agree that it is a non-existent illusion as explained above. At practical levels and layers, the manifest universe and it's objects exist and are real. In my view, we all share the same mind space or the filed or perhaps we can call it as kaya. A person who has realized oneness understands that he/she is not separate and expand to realize or become everything -- to be one with the universe. But at practical levels, the separation always exists as I explained earlier with the example of Gautama Buddha. Gautama Buddha after attaining Buddhahood still interacted with others as a separate person while in his body. This is the only way to act at practical layer. Buddha may have realized that he is everything, but he cannot eat for others through his mouth or function with his hands/legs for others. Also he/she cannot deny the reality of their existence and call it a phantom dream, the Buddha exists like everyone else. I stated the eating/hunger example just to illustrate the reality of separation at the practical layers. Though a person realizes ultimately everything is one, he/she still differentiates at the practical layer. In my view, this continues after a person leaves the physical body also. They continue as light beings, like the deities. People pray to various deities and interact with different beings. Such as past Buddhas and other angels, etc. A loose boundary for those beings (as separate beings) also continue to exist at a practical level and that is why we still call the light being as Gautama Buddha. Temples are built to pray/connect to the Gautama Buddha and other deities. Tantric practices to connect, overlap and merge with such beings exist. Those that pray, connect or merge to one light level being get the results from that being, not from another being or deity. This shows that separation exists at practical levels in this layer also. The prayer and connect happens at the level of duality and of the local mind and are inferior to the merging. Merging is a non-dual concept and explained by some others very well on the first 2 or 3 pages of this thread/topic and discussed further for several more pages. Those that have explained the merge have done it way better than I could. I don't want to go over on the merge part again. In my view this is somewhat similar to the visualization as a Buddha or deity done by tantric practitioners. It is not simply visualization when initiated by a teacher and a student has the empowerment to actually connect to that light being or merge.

Who would like to help explain what a fully realised Buddha means? I mean, please illuminate with your understanding what the scope of full realization entails? Anyone? Frankly, I really cannot even begin to fathom the magnitude of that sort of imaginative, fantastical fruition. Another point to consider is the usefulness of such an examination. Its like reading up a brochure about Disneyland and telling others the wonders of the place. Just go and experience the wonder, and then maybe realize its all a dream-like creation to induce a temporarily euphoric state. But that may just explain its attraction, doesn't it? As someone once aptly proclaimed, enlightenment is nothing; delusion is everything. The sweet spot of Non-distraction, i think, lies somewhere in between.

You know what I hate ? "Economic rationalism ' ....... if it makes money , its 'rational' It closed down old soldiers homes , dispersed their 'little communities - about all they had left - and relocated them . It shut down nurses homes and nursing homes and old people's facilities . Why ? Because they where not making enough money - 'unviable ' . How the hell did people start to think that looking after old soldiers, the sick and the elderly was SUPPOSED to be about making money ? How did that happen ? The "board' didnt like it ? The 'shareholders' voted to 'invest elsewhere' . I saw a doco about an old school , full on USA capitalist ( sorry, cant remember the details ) ... he made a CRAZY amount of money . But wanted kids and could not have them. So he and his wife adopted some . And some more ... and more . And then it spread, eventually he had all sorts of things running, orphanage, school , hospital, accommodation, scholarships , etc . A huge corp . Well, if you got enough money, you can do what you want - even nice things . He died and it continued for some time, turned into a big biz with a board and shareholders . Until a few years back . Not making enough money . So the shareholders of the corp decided to dissolve split up and sell off the man's dream . and now, I am thinking of 'Weather Underground ' - way to protest ! Dont go and hassle the office building or have a march and wave placards. get into the files of the board meeting ... somehow .... find out who actually voted for whatever shit is going on . And take your protest to them directly 'Weather Underground' style .... KABLOWIE ! Note, for those unfamiliar WU (as far as I know ) never injured or hurt anyone , nor where any of them ever caught . Some handed themselves in long afterwards . One got caught but that was more in a Black Panther operation. Now, a bit more of that .... the faceless people voting on their boards and holdings might think twice before they go along with some shitfull vote . ( like , no, lets not spend money on fixing that dam .... its only Brazil )

I don't have any ultimate answers Im afraid, my friend. Don't think its really helpful to speculate as that might create more confusion, as is the nature of ordinary discursive minds. All I can say is when we slowly disperse the layers of mental obscuration, our inner vision begins to clarify accordingly, until pure perception reaches a point of constant stability, meaning everything appears like a dream, and buddha activity takes place only in that dreamlike world of relatvity, and in reality (the ultimate of ultimates?), nothing happens at all except constant flux (of energy?) without a beginning - I don't really know, save for very tiny glimpses now and then, so please don't take these words as final or authoritative. I suppose the above is one way to explain how that Zen saying to kill the Buddha came about. One of my teachers said that life is one big uncertainty, and the more we get okay with that understanding, the better our meditation becomes. This realization helps to affirm what Buddha taught about having no position being the ideal position. He said that "Yes" and "No" keeps changing all the time, so a practitioner will do well to hang loose by avoiding fixated thinking that things are either this way or that way.

A quick way to cut through mental b.s. is just sit in full lotus padmasana - that is also based on music harmonics. So whether music is a "theory" or philosophy? It is proven to have been the original spirit training - the Eland Bull Dance - from before human language crystallized. This is called "MusiLanguage." So the "three gunas" of India is from before vedic philosophy - and so it is also the same as Daoism as based on music theory. Basically if someone says a vowel sound - that naturally has harmonics that resonate as the Octave and Perfect Fifth and Perfect Fourth. For example Master Nan, Huai-chin explains how a loud OM sound is heard to emanate spontaneously from the heart - when the jing (kundalini) is being converted into shen. I had this experience from a very strong DMT-based plant root medicine with an MAOI seed - combined with a 4 hour nonstop full lotus meditation during which I was not able to physically move (hardly). So that is when I realized that what Ramana Maharshi teaches as the source of the I-thought is inherently also based on music harmonics as he uses the left brain as the source of the I-thought to get to open up the right side of the heart. A good book to study for these secrets is Taoist Yoga: alchemy and Immortality. But the music theory principles are universal - ALL human cultures use the octave, Perfect Fifth and Perfect Fourth and not just humans. Science is realizing these harmonics are the secret of reality - again based on this Noncommutative phase secret of nonlocal reality. So I actually have scientists now regularly reading my blog - and they then publish this same model of reality based on music theory as explaining relativistic quantum physics. So - there's a medical scientists in the Netherlands which his assistant collaborator as an engineer. I have mentioned others also. But yes there is no substitute for the actual meditation - which needs to be done with the eyes closed, based on visualizing light. The original human culture taught to visualize light at the base of the spine - and that the N/om (life force from fat hormones) turns into electromagnetic force that is sent out of the brain - with the eyes not moving - as a laser healing energy. So they already did the advanced "neidan" training - including creating the Yang Shen bilocation body, etc. But yes they had no "theory" but they did rely on what Dr. Bradford Keeney calls "shaking medicine." So the ELF schumann resonance is also the waking dream state or Theta brain wave. Dr. Keeney does not like the term trance and he has written how "ecstasy" got also misused by academia. So in other words - yes there has to be emotional energy with the music. This is why when Prince, the rock musician, died - then cities all over earth did "honor" him with the color purple. So people give great importance to music as an emotional memory imprint. So we think of time - Dr. Stuart Hameroff has an excellent science explanation of precognition - stating that when Michael Jordan is in "the zone" then Jordan truly is perceiving the future. Again this means his internal brain speed is faster than those around him - so he is able to perceive things before they do. But also - he sees external perception as slowed down. This happens naturally if someone has a "near death" experience like almost a severe accident. So as Wim Hof teaches - the strong Quick Fire reverse tummo breathing is proven scientifically to DOUBLE ADRENALINE - just the same as Bungee jumping for the first time. So that means external time is perceived to slow down because the dopamine receptors are working twice as fast. Now if something is TOO traumatic - then time freezes into the deep dreamless state as a subconsciously stored trauma (PTSD) and this literally will fry out or damage the dopamine receptors. So then PTSD victims have damaged amgydalas and so then they react to stress more easily. This even happens to Westernized babies since doctors tell the mom to have the baby "cry it out." I have corresponded with a clinical psychologist who did the studies testing the stress hormone levels in the blood of babies left to "cry it out." She says it's permanent brain damage. This even made it to a NY Times article but she told me she is very mad at the doctors as they still practice this. So for example when I was in first grade I then held my breath consciously till I passed out - and I hit my head on the way down - on the two concrete corner walls and then the concrete floor. I woke up to blood streaming out of my skull. But it took me awhile to figure out that I had already been suffering from repressed anger. There is a great book on this called Heroes by professor Michael Lesy - how ordinary people can do extraordinary acts in the spur of the moment. He analyzed the background lives to discover each of these "heroes" actually has strong repressed emotional blockages that then " burst forth." So I had discovered in two or three different Western medical books that it is technically impossible to hold your breath till you pass out since the prefrontal left brain cortex INTENTION is over-ridden by the subconscious anterior gyrus cingulate.... But when I told my book buddy friend this - he said he had discovered a memoir about the first Sherpas - to get the job they HAD to hold their breath till they passed out. So in nonwestern culture - they knew their emotional energy could overpower their intentional left brain focus. So the brain on its own is weak - this is why the deep breathing is necessary and this then activates the Yuan Qi as the hidden "yang" or fire inside the water. So we think of the I-thought as just being a repetition or a rhythm or a mantra of the left brain - but in reality there is no repetition since the foundation of reality is what science calls "time-frequency uncertainty." This means that time as period inherently has an inverse opposite of frequency that is based on natural harmonics as the "law" of Pythagoras first discovered for the foundation of the WEst. But as I have pointed out - this got covered up in its TRUE alchemical meaning. Even Plato changed the order around of the alchemical elements based on the music harmonics - I go into this in my last book called Ancient Advanced Acoustic Alchemy - it is free online. https://www.docdroid.net/LbJGgG2/ancient-advanced-acoustic-alchemy.pdf OK another way to think of this is as Louis de Broglie discovered - there's actually TWO time "lines" - so the future and past are harmonized at the present. The present is the speed of light which does not experience space nor time. That is our "spiritual ego" as shen that is then TURNED AROUND to resonate with the future. So this turning around of the light is called the "light of no light" but it's also called Silence or think of it as the future canceling out the karma of the past. So our future is secretly guiding us all the time and when we have perceptions these are normally of the past. But if we have a precognitive vision then it is MORE REAL than our senses and perceptions of our normal left brain dominant processing of time. So a precognitive vision is the reversal of the future with the past. So then de Broglie modeled this as matter being a "group wave" and then the future is the pilot wave - and the two are inextricably linked as what he called his greatest discovery - the Law of Phase Harmony (this is rarely discussed in regards to his work). So most people just discuss de Broglie as stating that all matter as momentum can be understood to actually be a wave or wavelength. So this in itself is paradoxical since momentum is normally imparted to mass as a point. So how can a wave be a point? But light inherently has what used to be called "relativistic mass" - an excellent essay on this is by Nobel physicist Gerard 't Hooft - called Why Light is Heavy. So essentially all matter is made of light but in fact even though light has no rest mass light does have mass "from the future" or spacetime mass - this is also called now "supermomentum" or it is called "noncommutative phase" as I have noted. So the physicist who predicted the Dark Energy acceleration of the Universe - in India - Sarkar? His name is slipping at the moment - anyway so he says how the mass of light is due to spacetime being noncommutative. So then frequency is to time as momentum is to wavelength. But the frequency is from the future as a superluminal pilot wave. This is the noncommutative phase that is always-already non-local reality. So at "zero" time there is always-already an infinite frequency from the future as the pilot wave. But even zero and infinity are relative to the speed of light as the "spiritual ego" that turns itself around - and so matter is always being created new from micro black hole -white holes (Gerard 't Hooft also figured this out - as an extension of his "light is heavy" model).

Woah. Where are we going with this? I always thought this place was more or less free speech - except in extremis i.e. racism, misogyny etc and particularly ad homimen attacks. Open conversation is the way to learn new ideas and opinions and to strengthen and test your own. If you want me to sign up to anarcho-communism which is basically the wet dream of over privileged middle class kids - count me out. I want genuine change to the left which gives people dignity, a decent standard of living, healthcare and otherwise lets them do what they want. I want new models of living which emerge from today not some nineteenth century failed rhetoric. I want maximum free speech on Daobums with some outside limiters to prevent descent into flame wars and so on.

I cannot, nor do I desire to witness whatever photons enter your eyeballs to tell you what you're perceiving. Such things may be possible with training, but don't amount to much more than parlor tricks imho. You seem thoroughly convinced by this grand hall of mirrors. I however am my biggest skeptic. Do you believe your reflections have any substance apart from yourself? There's only one vision, and that which observes is multifaceted. But I can't see what you see in that sense. Your private world is quite your own. Unique in that you've specially tailored it to suit your deepest desires. Any mail of "yours" is only forwarded to "me" as "needed". We're engaged on a journey in which we wouldn't dream of violating each other's privacy...and yet, there's no such thing as secrets.

In the same way do people read the 'science' in the newspaper, it's all so amazing, and then they think they are amazing, as if they own this 'science'. If you read about Elon Musk or travelling to Mars .... it "lifts you up" because you imagine you are something to do with it. But maybe it has nothing to do with you, and you will waste the 24hrs of today dreaming. It would be nice to say that Atlantis is the place were people don't dream and work practically in useful endeavours so that they themselves become capable people, able to do things themselves; and that any good society is only based on one thing, the health wisdom and capability of the people inside that society which they themselves possess. And so having "western medicine" or scientific theories or whatever is actually not important, unless the individuals themselves have it inside themselves. And the way things are, as services are offered to you, you become lazy, you lose competence. A society full of services, be they high tech or high medicine, is a society of people getting weaker. At least that is the natural outcome. Animals that live in people's homes lose their brain size, and their competences. But it has also been said that the nature of the earth is such that changes in the celestial objects have a tremendous effect down here, and that we are at the mercy of them. Anyway, the truth is available to all who wish it.

I agree and honestly these institutions should be made to bare the burden of misleading others. Not the banks not the lending institutions that exist for the sole purpose of collecting interest on loans but the ones benefiting from over pricing education in the first place making it un-affordable and then selling a dream that quite frankly does not exist. Very few who graduate ever achieve what was promised by holding some silly ass paper. Go to school to learn what you love to do and what is in demand. Pay attention to the times in which you live and work hard at it live dirt poor like I did do not believe you need a Bachelors degree in Computer Science to have a career in I.T. for example. When I started I was damned good but I had two things going for me more talented people did not. #1. Credit Score in the 800's. #2. A clean background record. These two things alone can help a young person succeed over others.

Seeing, Recognising & Maintaining One's Enlightening Potential
C T replied to C T's topic in Buddhist Textual Studies
~ BUDDHA SPEAKS ~ Mahamati: World Honored One, how did the Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas abandon the view of an absolute arising, dwelling, or dissolving? Buddha: They abandoned it in this manner. They cognized that all phenomena are like an ephemeral illusion and dream, that they are detached from the duality of self and others, and that they are therefore unborn [emptiness.] They focused on the mind's manifestations and cognized external reality as unreal. By perceiving the unreality of phenomena, they brought about the cessation of the outflowing sensory consciousness. Because they cognized the unreality of their psychosomatic aggregates and the interacting conditions of the three planes of cosmic existence as originating from their deluded mind, they saw external and internal phenomena as devoid of any inherent nature and as transcending all concepts. Having abandoned the view of an absolute arising [of phenomena,] they realized the illusory nature and thereby attained insight into the unborn Dharma [expanse of emptiness.] -
Committing suicide is just another way to keep the ego. This time you sacrifice your life so that the illusions can continue. Strange, but true. In fact most people are sacrificing their life to continue a mad dream. There is only one solution.

I think the 2016 election showed symptoms of what was going on around the US... and likely not just the immediate past... but lots of folks feed up on politics/politicians/division/false promises and failed attempts at hope, etc. I think Trump was voted in as a disruption to all of this; a reset, a reboot, a re-alignment of lost issues over decades of bad decision making domestically and abroad. Anyone paying attention to life in general for the last 40 years has heard the name Trump and knows what he is generally like and about. In fact, many who now malign him used to be friendly with him. Did he change or did folks change? Seems an easy call. Folks showed themselves generally fake in the end and would likely suggest that Trumps front and center assault style in business was simply moved from real estate mongol to WH menace ? That still mis-understands the outcomes we see. People have turned their back; congress has turned its back; media has turned its back... Why ? Just because of One person ? No... because he has revealed the weakness in getting comfortable in disastrous deals; he has up-ended the train wreck of policies that got us into bad trade deals as well. He has called BS on 40 years of domestic and foreign policy that everyone was just sipping pool side drinks from... thinking that as long as I can just sit and sip, this is the 'good life'... Trump woke up the fantasy that folks in the US have slumbered through in a dream like state. Now that they are awake, instead of seeing re-building and re-fashioning, they can only see the walls come tumbling down. The walls of the imaginary comfort called political blindness of the people. This is a reboot going on. Long over due. Wait 50 years and there will be a lot said about this... how the US re-invented themselves in the modern era of global influence without losing their roots. That's my opinion.

The analysis is not fully correct: the realization of the futility of the world is in fact something to note from a spiritual perspective. In fact, many traditions indicate that this is absolutely essential for any spiritual progress. In Buddhism, it is summarized by the First Noble Truth that there is suffering. It is this very suffering that makes it possible to turn away from the world at all. The issue with suicide is that there is an assumption that death is somehow an end or a cessation. However, nothing really begins or truly ends. The entire cosmos is in constant transformation. From a Tibetan Buddhist point of view, death is not unlike going to sleep. When we go to sleep, there is often a period of darkness and forgetting. Based on this experience during the dying process, we think that is the end. But if death is truly like sleep, after this initial period of unconsciousness, we will rise again in a dream. After the dream, we are reborn again into the world. Similarly, the it is taught that the dying process is the same. An initial cessation, dreamlike experiences, and a rebirth. Similarly, no matter how depressed or how much pain we are in, it is not a part of our true nature. Again, we experience this every night when we go into deep dreamless sleep. We let go of everything. Pain is transient. Because of this, it is possible to find an end to suffering. The only way to end suffering is to remove our ignorance that is the cause of it. Having been born in this time and in this place, with an interest in spirituality, and to see the futility of attachment and playing in the red dust of the world can be a great fortune. The curse can become a blessing showing us the way out. I would challenge anyone on this board who feels the same way as the OP to use this as an opportunity to choose a tradition and practice in it. Whether it is Buddhism, Vedanta, Daoism, or an another practice that has a proven record of liberation. Follow a single path, preferably with a single teacher, and do what they tell you to do. Having come to the conclusion that life is meaningless, please seek out and find a teacher you can learn from. Make it your life. See what happens. The result may be very surprising. I guarantee you will not regret it.

Its hard to say what would the actual repercussions be since its your life you are talking about here and so far you know the best how it is you are living it. Making bad choices in life gives us a bad life even if we have the same things and live in the same world as others. I guess people make these choices with awareness that they could live with them once they make them but once they realize they can't they search for new solutions. Thus we come to the death option.. But what is death? And here is the catch.. How we live our life also greatly affects how will we relate to our own death. This in itself doesn't really explain what death is and what happens in stages after it happens but its still important because the different ways of life can take you to different destinations in afterlife since they have a different approach to death momentum. In reality death is an energetic happening that happens to everyone and most people die in a way what is considered today a "regular death" an energy process which they have no control of to what is happening to them which leads to a stage process of reincarnation but since energetically most of the population isn't 100% human before incarnating back to this world as human they get to first incarnate back to the world they came from as whatever energy being they existed as and after spending a lifetime there they can incarnate back again here. The human self part that people dream about splits and travels permanently to a location to continue dreaming an unconscious dream for the time's being. This location is a dreaming version of the waking Earth world we live in which all people naturally inhabit and have access trough dreaming when asleep where they either have lucid dreams or they dream with other people dreaming bodies resolving their subconscious issues. The fake identity part that people consider themselves to be coupled with the petty internal dialogue that follows it isn't even real to begin with as such and isn't a part of our being and therefore as such just continues to plague on everyone living in this world like it already is. Since it isn't real and listening to it only creates illusions taking its advice's regarding life and death would be a bad choice since it doesn't lead to a better solution but rather to a miserable life with just more problems to deal with. This gets us back to the question is death really liberating? I would say that death itself since it is a powerful energy moment in our life touches our whole being in such a way that makes us realize what it feels like to be touched by God again and this is truly liberating but since for most people it happens in an uncontrollable manner and last for just a few seconds before the stages of reincarnations take place leading you to different worlds which are mostly worlds that everyone just wants to break free from, any other strong energetic momentum that takes you away from the mind dialogue and away from your usual self will have the same effect on you, momentum's like meditation, internal silence, lucid dreaming, energy practices, even drugs or power plant medicine. They are all good for your well being if used as such and there is always time for death it happens eventually anyway. And if you get proficient at it and face death as an energy being instead of facing it unprepared you will have to option of keeping the best of your humanity with you on your journey in the afterlife being transformed into a new kind of being, a being that is able to choose its own destination which is truly what freedom is about. This is the point where your fate transcends your purpose. Now if you want to know the abouts of the world you came back from you can find it and experience it for yourself trough consciously controlled lucid dreaming with the little help of the energy beings that live in a near by dimension which can be met trough the avenue of dreaming. This exploration will put you on a path itself. The question is will you want to live there when you see the problems of the very world you came from which the inhabitants experience coupled with a prolonged life span which can seem like long suffering instead. There are also plenty of paths that cover life and death in their own way and the very modern life of a man is also one of them, my point is that everyone is trying to live their life according to the options they know about and if we knew more we would respond accordingly whatever beliefs we have. This is just how I have been taught and why I choose Nagualism as my path since it covers all of the above I've written. If interested Carlos Castaneda covers and writes on Nagualism in his books as the teachings of Don Juan. On the personal side what I like about you is the strength you have and that can be felt behind your decisions all the way from the moment you came on this forum. I also saw that your thinking is still muddled by petty thoughts which I assume is due to being quite young and no much experience on regular work on silencing the mind. Nevertheless this strength is the reason I wrote back because there is a type of intelligence behind it that moved me and make me respond since I wouldn't otherwise, I just couldn't disregard it and be the same. Life has its ups and downs it flows like a wave and after it hits bottom it raises to its glory Wish you well.

If you really want to kill yourself, like it is your biggest dream, do it. Why shouldn't you ? If you want to kill yourself because you feel helpless otherwise, tell yourself that whatever happens, death will come to you anyway sooner or later, so why force it ? Just do whatever you want meantime. You can still kill yourself tomorrow. (Some activities that I helped me go through bad times : spending some time in nature, away from civilization, drawing, listening or making music, walking hours without goal)
