  1. The now is scary

So do what you feel like doing and be done. Then go back to witnessing, being in the present. Yes everything is a dream...so if you feel like you're in a dream, is because you are waking up to reality.
  2. Dao, Qi, and Mind

This person has done a lot of detailed research, as you can see from their other posts, and so delves into a fine-tuned analysis here - this is very specifically the issue I have addressed in my "Idiot's Guide" pdf Notice usually people are quick to answer on thetaobums - as I have noted there are a handful of "chimps" who "territorially" slap down anyone who attempts to raise their energy frequency level. You get slapped down to left brain dominance with no real achievements on thetaobums - but this chimp crew that wanders the website territory. Since that left-brain dominance is the norm of society - then no one complains about being slapped down. I warned a recent new reader about this - and at first he didn't take me seriously. So he had read my research, then he quickly got very good results, and so he wanted more information. So at first he didn't read my research for more info but instead went to thetaobums to get feedback. They told him various logically fallacies like I am not a "real teacher" therefore don't read my research. haha. Since when does "real teacher" need to be attached to information to be read or not? Self-censorship always amazes me - I pointed that out to this person - since when is just reading my research mean they are in a cult? haha. So the person went on to keep reading my research but in the mean time they had "strayed" from the training I had pointed out before. This training is very difficult since as we raise the energy frequency - then people around us react strongly. The original qigong master said how people will be "attracted" to you - yes indeed! Then he said "even the same sex will be attracted to you" until you get the 2nd chakra opened up (i.e. the lower tan tien filled up). Now as I pointed out in a recent blog post - this is actually quite damning stuff about Western masculinity - because if the same sex is attracted to me - yet that male identifies himself as straight - you can see the psychological damnation the person quickly suffers internally. So then if the energy can be built up increasingly - then the issue is how to control the energy, etc. Now when I did my original training - I was lucky to be able to train intensively, and my diet had already been pure, and I was young and I had saved up energy pretty well until then. But it was when I attended the Level 3 retreat that I had my "enlightenment experience" - seeing ghosts, seeing the yuan shen healing light that the qigong master sends out to each individual student to heal them, also doing strong healing myself on others, and smelling cancer, and experiencing a spacetime vortex, etc. So recently when I went to my land up north - the small forest hermitage in the midst of hay farms and highway - haha - I had the Spring Forest Qigong Level 3 training manual with me. The funny thing is I had never read this new manual that had been created. When I took the course there was no manual - at first back in 2000 Fall - and then I took Level 3 again several times, as the original qigong master says it is easy for people to take the course for the information level but not necessarily is it easy to be ready on the energy level, to open the third eye. So as I read the manual - as it had been sitting in my car and I was waiting and so I finally just read the manual - for example there are case study healing stories that I had never read before! - and I realized there was new insights. This question asked in the OP from thetaobums is a Level 3 question. In the Level 3 manual the original qigong master discusses when is Universal Consciousness versus our individual consciousness in regards to the Tai Chi symbol. This Universal Consciousness as the Emptiness - the original qigong master also states that everything starts from yin qi and then builds up into the physical level. This is actually the "golden key" secret from Zhong Gong - as Zhong Gong uses the same reference to yin and yang being then the different speed, time and location of the qi energy to create individual physical form. And as per Zhong Gong the original "yin qi" is actually "yin matter" as superluminal or faster than light information healing - thought that is faster than the speed of light. So in fact this was a unique insight of Zhong Gong when the teacher also referred to Einstein and transcending Einstein with the original qigong master referring to Einstein the same way - that everything is energy and always will be energy eternally transforming. The question is transforming for the good or bad and so to transform for the good is to increase the frequency of the energy. So then in terms of science - the paradox arises already from relativity and it was de Broglie who originally discovered this contradiction from frequency and time in terms of Einstein's relativity - and so de Broglie realized there has to be a superluminal signal that guides the energy - and de Broglie called this the "Law of Phase Harmony." In fact it is "noncommutative phase" as the 5th dimension of space that is "time-like" and so it can only be logically inferred and not seen - as astrophysicist Paul S. Wesson detailed in his 2015 essays on de Broglie's Law of Phase Harmony. So the Zhong Gong teaching was actually based on de Broglie's insights - in terms of Western science - but in reality from the real training of traditional Taoist alchemy meditation. Does qi, the spiritual-material substance of the universe, possess or subsist in Mind? So the answer to that first question is clearly YES! And this is the crucial key point since one of the main attacks against qigong practitioners is they think they are superheroes or claim to have super powers or Christianity points out that energy healing is satanic, and the power of the devil, etc. No - only the proper understanding of this energy from the Emptiness as God is the key - it is not the individual who does the healings. And so the Level 3 manual the points out - and this was emphasized in the 2013 Level 3 class I went to - a class I had attended only after a long break with my last Level 3 class attendance in 2005 - the qigong master said it is very common for when the third eye to be opened up that the person then overuses their psychic energy doing healing and then the person becomes fat, since they have to rely on physical food to restore their jing energy. What the Level 3 manual states is that only if a good foundation is developed and maintained - the jing energy of the lower tan tien - can then the third eye be properly opened with continued levels of enlightenment achieved - the ability to see inside your own body and other people's bodies, etc. So in India this is the difference between Shakti and Siddhis - and so the healing in Spring Forest Qigong has to be spiritual light healing that is impersonal - that resonates into the Emptiness as the information healing energy that is nonlocal or superluminal signal healing. From what I understand there is a connection between the purified or tranquil mind and qi, but what about on the macrocosmic or Absolute level? Furthermore, where does shen 神 or spirit, particularly the yangshen, fit in relation to the Dao, qi, and Mind? So again the Level 3 manual states that everything starts from yin qi energy and what this means is that that Wu Chi is now confirmed - the Mystic Valley or Aperture of the Female as the original formless awareness that is the Cosmic Mother - and can never be unveiled. In the SFQ symbol the Emptiness is then Green as the liver yin qi energy of the Universe - and also it is called Spring Forest based on the name of the healer but also on the fact of biodiversity and cultural diversity - that it takes a lot of different types of trees to make a healthy forest (not just a monoculture of the mind as Vandana Shiva identifies the problem of Western thinking and its subsequent genocidal development). And so we are taught in the Spring especially to eat lots of green food to purify the liver qi - to build up the wisdom yin qi frequency energy - and also to be in the forest a lot with lots of diversity and lots of green for our eyes to take in. As Gurdjieff emphasized, and yet was rarely understood in this regard, is that the Lunar yin qi energy or psychic energy of the lower tan tien first has to be built up - and this is true on a macro level as well. Alchemy training is based on the lunar energy just as much as the solar energy and hence the inherent green connection as the moon controls the water cycles on Earth, enabling green life to utilize the sun through chlorophyll photosynthesis that is now proven to be nonlocal - faster than the speed of light - in quantum biology. So left brain dominance is actually the lower frequency subconscious control - as the Kundabuffer of modern man - as Gurdjieff calls it the moving center and the instinctual center - and now science proves that for humans our auditory cortex is very close to our moving cortex. So our brain constantly tells us to move - as Dr. LLinas, author of "I of the Vortex" emphasizes - then our brain creates a virtual reality from this urge to move that is really left-brain dominant, right-hand dominant consciousness. So the other primates also have this left-brain/right-hand dominant consciousness going back to the torque of the Sun-Moon-Earth wobble or backwards precession causing global warming around 3 million years ago, and before that our hominin ancestors were just as much tree dwellers as savannah dwellers. And so only if we can transcend the moving center and instinctual centers that are normally subconscious can we then build up the jing kidney energy or yin qi energy enough - to build up the liver yin qi energy when then finally opens up the heart-third eye as the Yuan Qi of the formless awareness of the Universe as the Tai Chi. As I was reading the Level 3 manual I was also reviewing the first "qi-talk" that the qigong master who befriended me had given - again in 2013 This talk was very revealing in details about the experience of going into the Emptiness - he says that only when there is a spacetime transformation - when external time slows down and internally our consciousness goes into the light, seeing bright light and colors - that we go into the Emptiness. That this really is a black hole/white hole portal - that is beyond death - and that the West, modern males, lack real initiation during puberty found in nonwestern cultures. For example I discovered recently Brad Steiger's book on Indian Native Medicine healing. Indian Medicine Power Of course this is really indigenous native, not even "American" or "Indian" as Winona LaDuke points out - and her dad is featured in this book - Sun Bear. But again the key is that by age 12 the male goes on vision quest as fasting with just water - and the longer a person can hold out then the stronger their energy will be. Steiger's book points out that divination and reading a person's energy blockages - is not necessarily the same person who does the healing. That actually doing the healing requires more power and so a deeper level of meditation. Steiger's book also emphasizes that Silence is the key factor for the training - Silence in the forest or natural place as meditation. In science this is called "acoustic ecology" and now proven to be essentially unknown in the modern world - the whole planet Earth has been so attacked by modern civilization that there is no real "silence" left where biodiversity over billions of years has finely tuned the acoustic ecological niches as harmonic EcoEcho energy healing. And so now we now the key relation of Yangshen because if we build up the yin qi energy enough into the Yuan Qi level beyond death - then the light we experience actually transforms the jing or physical level - as a reverse spacetime healing vortex of the Emptiness. The book of another Minneapolis Tai Chi healer - Dr. psychologist Christina Donnell - Transcendent Dreaming - she goes into her yuan qi yang shen transformations that occur during her sleep. So for example precognition that I have experience many times - this assures us that in fact what we think of as physical reality while awake is - less real - then this Yangshen astral realm that is holographic and so transcends spacetime as an eternal dream vortex. But as Ramana Maharshi points out - this movie analogy means that normally our brains can only see the external world or the film while our brains (the camera) are in ignorance as darkness - the Ch'an Taoist monks jokingly called normal people then "tubs of dark tar" since we can not see inside our bodies, etc. As Yogananda described when his third eye fully opened - he instantly could see in 4 directions at the same time, just as the qigong master who befriended me calls it 4D vision - front, back, left and right at the same time. haha. So then it is realized that the Earth as a physical planet actually exists more like Solaris - in that Tarkovsky film based on the SF book - that Earth is a holographic dream in the cosmic mind of the formless awareness. The Level 3 book states if you just see clouds in your vision then your third eye needs to still build up more energy. But as I blogged recently - the brain can get fried! It feels like a laser in the brain as the shen energy is sent into the brain to open up the third eye. When I described this to the qigong master who befriended me - he said this energy is not sent externally from him but is actually my own Higher Self manifesting - in other words reality is truly nonlocal but we don't realize it. So then science has detailed how there is a hidden momentum to light - when light is "heavy" due not just to quantum energy but to quantum relativity - this is called quantum relative entropy or negentropy - as reverse spacetime vortex energy from spirit light. This is the "golden key" secret of the superluminal qi that starts out as yin qi - from the light being turned around in alchemy training - but when built up to the Yuan Qi level that accesses the formless awareness of the Universe - from the heart-third eye opening up. And this means again that the lower tan tien is the foundation but also the controlling will power that enables going into the Emptiness properly - to bypass the mind's fear of death. Obviously to talk about this stuff is sensitive - as I reread the qigong master's qi-talk he states he finally discovered the meaning of a favorite song of his - everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die. So then in terms of Yangshen - we have to return to the original mystery of the Dao as the Emptiness and what that means in terms of yin and yang. In fact, as my handle points out and as Eddie Oshins discovered - the nonlocal reality is "noncommutative phase" from quantum relativity - meaning being in two places at the same time - and this means as I have quoted in my pdf - that the One Unity of Yuan Qi as the Emptiness is inherently the shen below the jing - the shen is turned around as the Universal Consciousness (instead of our normal individual shen just going out of our eyes as the ego - and this includes the individual shen going out of our bodies as astral travel!!). The qigong master who befriended me calls this the "point of origination" that is beyond the normal yin-yang energy. Why? Because Yangshen energy is the conscious awareness of what is normally subconscious yin qi that is nonlocal. As the original qigong master states - everything starts from yin qi - and so the qigong master who befriended me emphasized - everyone wants to go to heaven but no body wants to die - so like Prince they jump off buildings or high speakers - and take drugs - etc. - everyone looking for that transcendence without doing the real alchemy initiation based on the yin-yang energy dynamics. When the yangshen is accessed as a real enlightenment experience via the Yuan Qi energy - this, as the book Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality details - causes confusion. Indeed great confusion about what this all means - the Universal Consciousness as the Emptiness versus the individual consciousness - how is the One different than the Emptiness as Wu Chi - and how does that create yin and yang as 2 and 3, etc? So I go into this more in the pdf - and I am glad to have been able to return to these subtle, fascinating and crucial issues, thanks to the question that had remained unanswered on thetaobums. In science this is explained as the entanglement of light in black holes - so that the information is stored in the black hole but scrambled when it leaves the black hole as white hole energy. This means there is infinite potential mass that is imaginary mass as the Yuan Qi energy as information - and so the light going into a black hole is emitted again but only as a scrambled singularity - called Hawking Radiation of black holes due to the inherent quantum foundation of reality. We used to think that black holes just sucked everything up - not true! But this Hawking Radiation is not the same as the white hole transformation of the information itself - which then turns into Yangshen energy. So we could say then that the yin shen as yin qi light is our subconscious experience of the virtual black holes of reality that we exist within - the micro quantum black holes that are the gateways to nonlocal reality - the 5th dimension. The light goes into a singularity of infinity as we go to sleep at night - into the Emptiness of our mind - but in fact if we can turn the light around then the mass of the black hole is also turned around. This is the secret of the alchemy training. Science has yet to discover "white holes" since science is limited to classical math of macro-level technology that depends on Fourier time-frequency uncertainty, a linear operator (of left-brain-right-hand technology). The normal Hawking Radiation is still at the yin qi subconscious level as the light gets sucked into the black hole along with the mass of normal 4D spacetime. This is why Yan Xin said his qigong healing is based on a "virtual information" field that is the "highest technology of all technologies." Yan Xin was creating Yuan Shen healing of people when people meditate to turn their light around, thereby creating sympathetic resonance with the Yuan Qi energy or the Emptiness that does the healing - this is what the qigong master who befriended me calls instantaneous healing - or even healing the past as a spacetime vortex through gravitons. That is the Yangshen white hole healing that also enables precognition. So the 5th dimension “The information is not stored in the interior of the black hole as one might expect, but in its boundary — the event horizon,” he said. Working with Cambridge Professor Malcolm Perry (who spoke afterward) and Harvard Professor Andrew Stromberg, Hawking formulated the idea that information is stored in the form of what are known as super translations. “The idea is the super translations are a hologram of the ingoing particles,” Hawking said. “Thus they contain all the information that would otherwise be lost.” It is noncommutative phase - a logical paradox that Eddie Oshins also discovered is the secret of Tai Chi Neigong alchemy Bagua training - macroquantum resonance energy. A white hole is a theoretical structure (none are known to exist, though they don’t violate any of the known laws of physics) that emit matter and energy, but cannot ever be reached from the outside. So in fact this is explained only through the fifth dimension as nonlocal noncommutative phase. Carlo Rovelli - black to white hole transformations in terms of Hawking Radiation
  3. What exactly is the relationship between the Dao, Qi, and the Mind (xin 心)? Various Daoists have spoken of the "Daoxin" or the "Dao Mind" or have variations on the Chan-like phrase of "The Dao is the Mind and the Mind is the Dao." Yet Daoist cosmology has the empty Dao giving birth to or producing the One, typically seen as primordial undifferentiated qi prior to polarization into yin-yang. According to traditional Daoist teachings, where does Mind fit into this schema? Does qi, the spiritual-material substance of the universe, possess or subsist in Mind? From what I understand there is a connection between the purified or tranquil mind and qi, but what about on the macrocosmic or Absolute level?
  4. The now is scary

Peace, I began zazen recently and I'm currently having a very difficult time accepting the mental power of 'the now'. I am constantly stopping mental chatter and unawareness. I'm living in the now and it feels very different, as if I am in a dream. The concentration is very powerful. During my prayers I am more involved and not in thought like I previously was. this is great, but it is a bit scary. Is this an effect of 'waking up'? Edit: i am also getting very emotional about it. In some of my sittings I feel extremely angry, sad or even want to cry. And I currently feel like crying for some reason
  5. Qigong and lucid dreams

Thank you Seatle! I almost forgot about TWR's FB teachings. By a weird coincidence I have time today to watch his live teaching as I burned my foot and therefore I can't get to my qigong practice. Life is a funny thing sometimes. Thank you Steven for your encouragment. I have already managed several lucid dreams, however the lucidity was fairly weak and only in one I have managed to do sth in the dream I wanted. Well guess now it is a good time to focus more on developing lucidity.
  6. London Bridge

"London bridge is falling down...." As a man of Ulster Irish descent, I shall say brilliant! what goes around, comes around, watch it fall, and feel nothing. However the issue is larger then Lizzies England, if men and women of Aryan genetic stock don't stop pussy footing around and realise there is no such as equality in nature, it is rather the search for the lowest common denominator the race/s is in SERIOUS threat of being bred out of existence by an alien stream. "We are the Allahvite flesh-golems - you are spellbound, you're leaders are whores, resistance is futile, thou shalt be assimilated!!!!!" * "This truly is a prophecy that has and is coming true today 145 years after it was penned by D.W. Nash. Apart from it being a prophecy of England's doom it is also a message of hope and it is important to stress this. England or the English in some form or another will survive..." Tom Hill was in the saddle One bright November morn, The echoing glades of Guiting Wood Where ringing with his horn. The diamonds of the hoar-frost Were sparkling in the sun, Upon the falling leaves the drops Were shining one by one. The hare lay on the fallow, The robin caroled free; The linnet and the yellow finch Twittered from tree to tree. In stately march the sable rook Followed the clanking plough; Apart their watchful sentinel Cawed from the topmost bough. Peeped from her hole the field-mouse Amid the fallen leaves; From twig to twig the spider Her filmy cable weaves. The wavings of the pine boughs The squirrel’s from disclosure; And through the purple beech-tops The whirring pheasant rose. The startled rabbit scuttered Across the grassy ride; High in mid-air the hovering hawk Wheeled round in circles wide. The freshest wind was blowing O’er groves of beech and oak, And through the boughs of larch and pine The struggling sunbeam broke. The varied tints of autumn Still lingered on the wood, And on the leaves the morning sun Poured out a golden flood. Soft, fleecy clouds were sailing Across the vault of blue; A fairer hunting morning No huntsman ever knew. All nature seemed rejoicing That glorious morn to see; All seemed to breathe a fresher life - Beast, insect, bird, and tree. But sounds and sight of beauty Fell dull on eye and ear; The huntsman’s heart was heavy His brow oppresses with care. High in his stirrups raised he stood, And long he gazed around; And breathlessly and anxiously He listened for a sound. But nought he heard save song of bird, Or jay’s discordant cry; Or when among the tree-tops The wind went murmuring by. No voice of hound, no sound of horn; The woods around were mute, As though the earth had swallowed up His comrades-man and brute. The thought, ‘I must essay to find My hounds at any cost; A huntsman who has lost his hounds Is but a huntsman lost.’ The round he turned his horse’s head, And shook his bridle free, When he was struck by an aged fox That sat beneath a tree. He raised his eyes in glad surprise, That huntsman keen and bold; But there was in that fox’s look That made his blood run cold. He raised his hand to touch his horn, And shout a ‘Tally-ho!’ But, mastered by that fox’s eye, His lips refused to blow, For he was grim and gaunt of limb, With age all silvered o’er; He might have been an Artic fox Escaped from Greenland’s shore. But age his vigor had not tamed, Not dimm’d his sparkling eye, Which shone with an unearthly fire - A fire could never die. And thus the huntsman he addressed, In tones distinct and clear, Who heard as they who in a dream The fairies’ music hear. ‘Huntsman,’ he saida sudden thrill Through all the listener ran, To hear a creature of the wood Speak like a Christian man ‘Last of my race, to me ‘tis given The future to unfold, To speak the words which never yet Spake fox of mortal mould. ‘Then print my words upon your heart, And stamp them on your brain, That you to others may impart My prophecy again. ‘Strong life is yours in manhood’s prime, Your cheek with heat is red; Time has not laid his finger yet In earnest on your head. ‘But ere your limbs are bent with age, And ere your locks are grey, The sport that you have loved so well Shall long have passed away. In vain shall generous Colmore Your hunt consent to keep; In vain the Rendcombe baronet With gold your stores shall heap. In vain Sir Alexander, And Watson Keen in vain, O’er the pleasant Cotswold hills The joyous sport maintain. ‘Vain all their efforts: spite of all, Draws nigh the fatal morn, When the last Cotswold fox shall hear The latest huntsman’s horn. ‘Yet think not, huntsman, I rejoice To see the end so near; Nor think the sound of horn and hound To me a sound of fear. ‘In my strong youth, which numbers now Full many a winter back, How scornfully I shook my brush Before the Berkeley pack. ‘How oft from Painswick Hill I’ve seen The morning mist uncurl, When Harry Airis blew the horn Before the wrathful Earl. ‘How oft I’ve heard the Cotswolds’ cry As Turner cheered the pack, And laughed to see his baffled hounds Hang vainly on my track. ‘Then think not that I speak in fear, Or prophesy in hate; Too well I know the doom reserved For all my tribe by fate. ‘Too well I know, by wisdom taught The existence of my race O’er all wide England’s green domain Is bound up with Chase. ‘Better in early youth and strength The race for life to run, Than poisoned like the noxious rat, Or slain by felon gun. ‘Better by wily sleight and turn The eager hound to foil, Thank slaughtered by each baser churl Who yet shall till the soil. ‘For not upon these hills alone The doom of sport shall fall; O’er the broad face of England creeps The shadow on the wall. ‘The years roll on: old manors change, Old customs lose their sway; New fashions rule; the grandsire’s garb Moves ridicule to-day. ‘The woodlands where my race has bred Unto the axe shall yield; Hedgerow and copse shall cease to shade The ever-widening field. ‘The manly sports of England Shall vanish on by one; The manly blood of England In weaker veins shall run. ‘The furzy down, the moorland heath, The steam plough shall invade; Nor park nor manor shall escape Common, nor forest glade. ‘Degenerate sons of manlier sires To lower joys shall fall; The faithless lore of Germany, The guilded vice of Gaul. ‘The sports of their forefathers To baser tastes shall yield; The vices of the town displace The pleasures of the field. ‘For swiftly o’er the level shore The waves of progress ride; The ancient landmarks one by one Shall sink beneath the tide. ‘Time honoured creeds and ancient faith, The Altar and the Crown, Lordship’s hereditary right, Before that tide go down. ‘Base churls shall mock the mighty names Writ on the roll of time; Religion shall be held a jest, And loyalty a crime. ‘No word of prayer, no hymn of praise Sound in the village school; The people’s education Utilitarians rule. ‘In England’s ancient pulpits Lay orators shall preach New creeds, and free religions Self made apostles teach. ‘The peasants to their daily tasks In surly silence fall; No kindly hospitalities In farmhouse or in hall. ‘Nor harvest feast nor Christmas tide Shall farm or manor hold; Science alone can plenty give, The only god is Gold. “The homes where love and peace should dwell. Fierce politics shall vex. And unsexed woman strive to prove Herself the coarser sex. ‘Mechanics in their workshop Affairs of State decide; Honour and truth old fashioned words The noisy mobs deride. ‘The statesmen that should rule the realm Coarse demagogues displace; The glory of a thousand years Shall end in foul disgrace. The honour of old England, Cotton shall buy and sell, And hardware manufacturers Cry “Peace! lo! All is well.” Trade shall be held the only good, And gain the sole device; The statesman’s maxim shall be peace, And peace at any price. “Her army and her navy Britain shall cast aside; Soldiers and ships are costly things, Defence an empty pride. The German and the Muscovite Shall rule the narrow seas; Old England’s flag shall cease to float In triumph on the breeze The footstep of the invader Then England’s shore shall know, While homebred traitors give the hand To England’s every foe. ‘Disarmed, before the foreigner, The knee shall humbly bend, And yield the treasures that she lacked The wisdom to defend. ‘But not for aye-yet once again, When purged by fire and sword, The land her freedom shall regain, To manlier thoughts restored. “Taught wisdom by disaster, England shall learn to know That trade is not the only gain Heaven gives to man below. ‘The greed for gold departed, The golden calf cast down, Old England’s sons again shall raise The Altar and the Crown. “Rejoicing seas shall welcome Their mistress once again; Again the banner of St. George Shall rule upon the main. “The blood of the invader Her pastures shall manure; His bones unburied on her fields For monuments endure. ‘Again in hall and homestead Shall joy and peace be seen, And smiling children raise again The maypole on the green. ‘Again the hospitable board Shall groan with Christmas cheer, And mutual service bind again The peasant and the peer. “Again the smiling hedgerow Shall field from field divide; Again among the woodlands The scarlet troop shall ride.’ Again it seemed that aged fox More prophecies would say, When sudden came upon a wind, ‘Hark forrard! Gone away!’ The listener started from his trance He sat there all alone; That well-known cry had burst the spell, The aged fox was gone. The huntsman turned. He spurred his steed, And to the cry he sped; And, when he thought upon that fox, Said naught, but shook his head.
  7. Qigong and lucid dreams

Yes, I practice lucid dreaming. You can do anything in a lucid dream including the practice of qigong. You could learn new forms from the ancient masters, create new forms of your own. You can even go to sleep in a lucid dream and have a lucid dream within a lucid dream... Lots of possibilities. I highly recommend you investigate further.
  8. Qigong and lucid dreams

Hi, i was interested in lucid dreams before i even knew about qigong, and following certain actions like "reality checking" during the day helps alot. well some say that the qigong, or meditation effects the dreams , more lucidity in the day brings more into the dreams. Personally i never noticed qigong by itself to bring on lucidity, the only thing that did for me was conscious effort. i have heard there are specefic types of "sleeping qigong" practices that would work with this stuff, but i think these teachings are harder to come by (at least in my area) This thread might be of interest you. And the book "tibetan yogas of dream and sleep" goes pretty deep into the subject. And not just how to do it but why to do it. Steve kindly provided free links to files of the author in the above thread.
  9. Third Eye Blind: Aphantasia

After speaking with few other people and reading this thread entirely, I can confirm that I cannot visualize things the way they do with clarity. This was surprising to them and it was surprising to me. So, add me to the list also! When I came across the phrase daydreaming, few times in last year. I had to lookup the Wiki pages and dictionary to make sure what exactly it meant and how it is different from night dreams. Now, this explain why. Something similar to daydreaming happens to me with vague visualizations. I call this absent mindedness or caught up in thoughts. I can't daydream like how it is described. ditto.... I don't have to add a single word, the above matched my experience 100%. You saved me from typing lot of things . This matches my experience, more or less perfectly. However, you recall one dream from high school. I can recall none. ditto.... once again matches my experience, the image being indistinct and changing to different types matches perfectly. I would have explained this in my own words. There are many images from past that I can recall with low/moderate amount of clarity. It is still nowhere as clear as others describe. However, the things I have not seen, like this novel example or the red ball, it is extremely hard to picture an image for these. When I do, it is cloudy, vague, indistinct and changes to different types as you mentioned. It is as you described on the first quote above, related to how I construct things until I have the necessary information. @Jeff, feel free to do whatever / share, Thanks. I am not able to explain it in terms of chakra or in detail as how Daeluin does. As Daeluin mentioned, my dreams are also getting sharper lately. I have had lucid dreaming at times in the past few years, and some other experiences on dreams. I am still not quite sure, if this affects learning in anyway. There is a picture puzzle in this link: https://www.newscientist.com/article/2083706-my-minds-eye-is-blind-so-whats-going-on-in-my-brain/ I think this is a great image puzzle that might help determine, if someone has this issue. I had a tough time imagining the picture and to find which are the rotated images of the picture down on that page. However, I did find the right answer before or at the same time, with the people who could picture the image. Later when I processed in mind to determine, how I did that, it was a revelation. My mind rapidly absorbed other details of the picture as thoughts, like angels in that picture, counting how many green and white tiles were there. When they asked later, which are the turned image of the that block, with the information such as angle, direction and with a really vague and unclear image (without any colors), I could find the answer. Thank you. I think this might very well be a possibility in my case. It feels like I had the ability to visualize as a child. I think, I lost the ability at some point of time, when I was a kid.
  10. Hello, here finding a way out of depression

Good morning Marblehead, Unfortunately yes. You were immoral before. But apparently your corrupted past had dissipated quite nicely. Why? Peace & contentment are now within your grasp. Dream on - you are getting there (for your good work and repentance at TDB). At this juncture wuwei will serve you well as a polarised reborn again Taoist. A great weekend. - .LimA
  11. Dream Yoga

After the live broadcast, the videos are saved. You can find links to the videos on this page. If you can't access them there, try Ocean of Wisdom. The only problem is they are not well organized on that site. That should change in the near future. The 5 part series on sleep yoga is there also. I'd suggest working with dream yoga first.
  12. Dream Yoga

Upcoming free teachings of dream yoga on Facebook Live starting June 6th. All talks are recorded so you don't have to be available at the scheduled time.
  13. In the Indic spiritual traditions, there are many different paths to the proverbial spiritual "summit". But generally they are broken down into two main categories - Direct Method - This is the method of Jnana Yoga, direct inquiry into Self (Advaita Vedanta, Kashmir Shaivism) Indirect Method (various Yogas - Tantra, Kundalini, etc) In the direct method, one directly inquires into the nature of one's Self, realizing that each of the identities we associate ourselves with, are not our Self (social labels, name, body, mind, intellect, etc) till we get to that which cannot become an object of inquiry (and is therefore called the True Self, the true Beingness, the true knowingness, etc). I have been lucky to have travelled both paths myself. Direct Method purists would probably consider me a "spiritual mutt", and I'm glad I became one. There are so many treasures buried in various spiritual traditions in terms of both wisdom as well as practical methods, that the journey of this lifetime became richer for me as a result of these, thereof. My friend (who has recently embarked down the Direct Method) and I were discussing this. He knows I've been a taiji/Daoist practitioner for many years (getting close to two decades now), and also have undertaken studies of Siddhar Yoga, Hatha Yoga and vipasana style meditation as well. My Paternal Grandfather had taught me a lot of basics about pranayama when I was a young teenager and my Karate training later on helped with some of the meditation/breath-work. However, a lot of my early practice was really instinctive. I didn't have any teacher per se, but I had many teachers visit me and teach me during dream time. At that time, seated meditation was hard for me to do, still I was able to meditate after doing specific breath work (bhastrika, kapalabhati, bhramari pranayama). At the same time, I had started practicing Yang style 24-form taijiquan. Overtly unnknown to me, I was going through these transformations, the Qi sensitivity was developing, the Lower Dan Tien was formed, my 3rd eye was activating. At this time I was also doing a lot of dream yoga (lucid dreaming specifically) and perhaps that is why I remember Swamis and Daoist masters visiting me during dream state and providing me with instructions. Eventually I found Temple style taiji and my first teacher, Master George Bolger and I dived head-on into Taiji and Daoist cultivation. When I think back to the early days, I think a lot of stuff was "revealed" to me without my knowing much in terms of concepts that I know now (wrt. spirituality). I was given a specific mantra in a dream, by a Swami, when I was going through an excessively terrible time mentally and also financially (without a job for several months). That Mantra had become a mainstay of my practice until recently and helped me go through a lot of ups and downs in my journey since then (for almost 17 years). In course of my taiji practice, eventually I got a point where my witness self emerged quite distinctively. As "I" observed my mind-stream, first by starting to meditate in the gap between the thought (both during form practice as well as in seated meditation), I started to get alarmed and judgmental about patterns I observed in my mind. It took me many more years of silent anguish and finally my current teacher Master Jose Perez' "shaktipat", until I was able to come to a full realization that I was not my mind. The mind-stream is just a stream of objects that arise in consciousness. The underlying "me", i.e., the Pure Conscious Being is unaffected by the mind. My friend does not understand Energy, he doesn't understand all these "indirect methods" as he doesn't have a feel for energetics at all. One day, recently while discussing jnana yoga with him, when i was giving him analogies of how one can get to the same state of clear mind/no mind with energetic work and how any repetitive action can result in meditation, it seems I ran into a brick wall (For him, the direct method works best). Taijiquan and qigong are excellent practices to take what we get in seated meditation/contemplative practices and extend them into moving state. He was struggling to figure out how he can get on the "same page as me" wrt. energetics and cultivation and I think finally gave up. Thinking back about myself, for me the direct method was very hard initially. God knows I tried ... When I first read about Ramana Maharshi's "Who Am I?" type method, I was nonplussed as I had no "bearing" so to speak. I was deeply immersed in Samsara and my mind had not developed the clarity (not the same as intelligence) or the stillness to know where to even begin. Only after the constant witness had emerged (and after torturing the limited self over it) did Jnana path start to work. Don't get me wrong...I had the theory part sort of worked out. I had read my upanishads, yoga sutras, madhyamaka, among other texts, many times. I 'got it' intellectually, but it was not a experiential reality for me at that point. Right here on TDB, I've participated in many discussions (and some battles) over Buddhism, Vedanta, etc etc. At that time, I knew somethings "intuitively" and far less, experientially. Now when I see people torturing themselves like I have in the past, about effort vs no-effort, I mostly don't feel like sharing my thoughts. It is easy to talk about the simplicity of the "truth", after it has "clicked". Otherwise one has no way to gauge how simple it all really is. When Master Jose told me the first time I met him, "you will be surprised at how simple it all is", I knew instinctively, but really did not know. It is really simple, and yet almost all of us struggle over a "seeking", "a doing", in order to "achieve or attain some state or another". Yet in reality, it is something that is never apart from us. It cannot be found outside. Yeah, we've all heard the instructions of how we have to turn inward rather than outward, happiness/peace/God/Realization/Enlightenment/<Your favorite term here> can never be found in external objects. And yet, as part of our respective journeys, we seek objectively something that is the most intimate, most subjective of all experiences. It is always with us, never apart from us (Haha, and i also know how this type of platitude is bound to drive people angry, frustrated, plain bonkers with annoyance). Even in the inward turning, we try to turn the "within" into the "outside". As an object (or objects). This chakra, that nAdi, this Dan Tien, and so on. Until one day it becomes apparent...all of these are still objects to be experienced, but they do help point out the experiencer more definitely. Yes, Energy is nothing but consciousness. Everything rises out of consciousness, and sinks back into consciousness. The purpose of my writing this long post is to share my thoughts and also seek to hear about your journey, my TDB friends. And to say, that its okay to be a spiritual mutt. Sometimes the mutts are the most resilient, and eventually we have to realize that a raft is only a raft, no matter how beautiful and awesome it is. We need to use it for our travels, and that's all there is to it. Love and gratitude, Dwai
  14. What does this mean?

Sometimes if I talk to my ex, i absorb a TON of negative energy if im not strong enough. She suffers from mental disorders and is on medication. It can HAPPEN through a PHONE.CONVERSATION and so afterwards i must purify. It is so strange. I also notice I absorb a lot of negative energy from a close relative I live with. When they are in my presence, they shut down and hide in their room and smoke. Sometimes their anger effects me and i absorb it. However if i am 14-21 days in my.cultivation or celibacy it hardly effects me. I sat down next to an addict guy in.the coffee shop. He got all fidgety and left. I dont drink, smoke, eat sugar and i am.celibate aside from the monthly wet dream I spent 6 months in deep meditation and celibacy and believe i opened some channels. Like I can sense when my.step father. Has headaches and such.
  15. Third Eye Blind: Aphantasia

Hmmm, what an interesting thread. I suspect I am one of those affected by this, to some degree. As a child I recall having vivid dreams, sometimes of places I still remember. Although when I attempt to visualize them, it is more the feel of how the looked and a very specific spatial/mechanical awareness of what they were. In some cases, I attached so strongly to one part of how I think something looked that that is all I have. I can imagine a red ball, but I have to create it with some effort. I can imagine anything visually like this, but it requires construction, if that makes sense - unless I've seen it recently, and then I can connect to the feeling of the memory of what I've seen. Perhaps this is also related to how I construct things, by reaching until I have the necessary information. I am left-handed, but still fairly close to ambidextrous. I went to college for music performance, but mostly because this is what I did in grade school - I quickly learned that while I had good technical ability, I needed work on creating the soul of the music. My art-work is also very math/pattern based. I work a lot with reasoning things out, and have a good sense of directional awareness and intuitive understanding of how machines work. Mostly, with dreams, I think I do visualize things, but it is extremely difficult to consciously recall what things look like in any detail at all, even when in that hazy state before waking up, while my barely active mind is still connected to the deeper layers. Absolutely never remember faces. If someone was familiar to me in a dream I have to work this out with intuition, how the relationship of the person felt to me. I recall reading once that we can't read writing in dreams, and I guess I don't know if this is true or not, because it's always been impossible for me to read anything in dreams. The one dream I had one night as a senior in high school that I woke up and still remember, was of a room. It had a tall ceiling, elaborate theater style curtains, and I was seeing it from a certain place within. Curious, I accepted that I had a clear memory of this room. I proceed to audition for all-state band for the first time a couple weeks later (never thought I'd actually make it, wasn't even nervous during it because of this), and proceeded to place. 5 months later I show up to the practice room - in a city I'd never been to before, the room was situated deep inside a big performing arts center, not open to the public, no windows. I take a seat and look up. Exactly same tall ceiling and thick curtains, from the same perspective. Uncanny... I had not thought much about my dream, but as soon as I looked up I remembered it as an exact match. I used to escape into novels, and I would get to a point where the novel came alive inside of me, but it was like I was feeling everything that happened from the character's perspective. Visual descriptions were felt, as in how I might feel looking over a vast mountain vista - I would feel the sharp drop of before me, sense the vast distance spreading way out into some clouds and kinda see imaginary mountain peaks off in the distance, but the image of them would be indistinct and changing to different types of mountains whenever I revisit them, as though I am cycling through pictures of mountains I've seen before rather than creating them with my shen. Now, having done energy work for some years, I've played with various different things, including the third eye. For me it has been a portal for working with energy, but I always seem to use too much effort when pulling on it. Also, for a long time I had more of a sense of yin energy than yang energy - it was only this past year that I began to feel yang energy or perhaps shen, and start to understand the principles to inviting it into deeper integration within. Along with this sensing of a new type of energy, some of my work has changed. For example, now when I do some types of qigong, my shen will crystallize and clarify somewhat, which I also associate with sitting more in stillness more regularly. When I sleep I seem to have dreams with a sharper quality to them. A couple weeks ago I accidentally had some coffee for the first time in a while, couldn't sleep, and decided drinking some beer was the antidote... I had to much and regretted it, but also had an interesting experience... something about the beer helped to crystallize the energy to a greater extent, and I became more aware of a more "visual" sense of seeing the edges of various crystalline energy shapes all around my field. I associated this with the 3rd eye / pineal gland, but also with wood/liver type of energy from the alcohol. Wood energy is something I don't have very much of, based on my BaZi chart, which seems to correspond with my life experience. Although I do have large, healthy, shiny, moist nails, and I used to have 20/20 vision, my eyesight has suffered over the years, though not bad enough to require glasses... perhaps it is a difference between having a healthy enough liver and weaker gall bladder, not sure. This describes my past somewhat well. It takes a lot to make me angry, while people with excess wood qi frequently have major issues with managing their excess energies. I've always been the patient, quiet, someone timid and sort, after my initial burst of early childhood energy - supposedly if the 3rd chakra isn't developed in those early years, the 4th opens wide without regulation - I remember burning like a sun, but then after some time I burnt out. After that I was often bullied and pushed around, wasn't able to make decisions for myself. But nice side effect of NEVER getting headaches, which presumably is related to not having those excesses of pent up qi - any of my excesses related to hun were explored in my imagination, outside of my body. I've experienced hangovers, but this seems a bit different. When in high school sometimes my mother and I would have a disagreement (she never gave in) and I could get pushed into something like anger, so I would just walk off and around the block, and then I'd be fine and was ready to move on. Wood energy is also associated with the hun, which is also associated with dreaming and vision. All in all it seems something related to the hun spirit is the issue with aphantasia. Oh and @Jeff, feel free to do whatever / share whatever. My sense is that I am able to work in these energy centers related to vision more and more, but need a lot more refining and gaining experience on how they operate rather than trying to push the energy I am used to through them. I think I need a lot more work with inviting the various shen back into the body now that I am taking back over the 3rd chakra regulation of energy and creating a home/field for the higher vibration energies again. I've started to connect this to the energy gate between the shoulder blades called "spirit gate" - when the shen is able to reside here, I am able to act and react from a more stabilized perspective without feeling the need to move out of the way of things coming to me. Shen/spirit likes stillness and all that. Once the shen is relaxed and in place here, I'm getting that it is more centered and one is less easily pushed around.
  16. Third Eye Blind: Aphantasia

interesting thread, for many years, decennia really, i was like your wife. Unable to visualize ( although I did have dreams that were 'real' meaning i could give an description of the surroundings that were in my dream) some years ago something happened and from that moment on i was able to visualize, probably not as strong as some others but it was sort of amazing for me. i'm sure could train it quite easily now if I wanted. reading this thread i realize that as a child I was able to visualize too. And that I've lost that possibility after a traumatic experience. but of course i do not say that that is the reaon that your wife can't. but still, thought i should add my experienceto the thread
  17. Third Eye Blind: Aphantasia

My point was not to disagree with you, as I am completely confident that you do have 3rd eye visions. It was more to make a finer differentiation, that in general it is not as simple as conscious or 3rd eye. That many would call it 3rd eye, but it is actually more like my anger example of a "local" subconscious translation of the energy in the mind. It is very common for those who are only open to the 4th or 5th chakra to feel/sense energy that they don't consciously comprehend and have the mind translate that into some vision (or vivid dream) before the are actually open at the 3rd eye. In particular, Spotless's friend story above describes it well. With great clarity it is a direct knowing of energy/light as there really is nothing to see. But for most, that energy reflect/translates into local mind and creates an "arising". All seeing is such a translation, with the difference that I am trying to describe being whether the underlying energy that is being translated is more at a "universal" consciousness level (like your teachers energy) or more a "local" mind-body level.

Me, too. OK, I do dream occasionally.
  19. My enlightenment experience.

How it unfolded, and will continue to unfold is unique to the individual. It is what it is - the fruits of realisation have so many flavours, which is what makes it so profoundly delicious. As observers, all we can hope for is to learn of others' experiences, ideally with an open mind and heart. We love making comparisons, and in comparing, there is an immediate appeal to return to the intellect. The intellect, being limited in its scope, naturally, can only comprehend the enlightening experience to a certain point, never beyond, before it seeks some sort of validation as to its own supremacy, albeit in vain, much like a dog chasing its own tail. First everything appears real, then it all seems dream-like, then finally, with the utmost clarity, one simultaneously sees both in all and nothing.
  20. waking within the dream

    waking within reality

    what is the difference?

  21. Hi Marblehead, In and out of bikinis? Very revealing and suggestive. Now my lucid and fertile imagination is on high octane; and my mind and body have gone into high gear. Nothing is near or far anymore. Everything is into the moment. Which is which? In bikinis - yin and out of bikinis - yang? Or vice versa? Will not post for a while. Why? Going straight into the MOMENT (hot!). You are barred from my moment; but you can keep on banning. Wow what e c s t a s i e s ... Dream on, brother! - LimA (please do not disturb)

  23. Third Eye Blind: Aphantasia

I have been mulling this over. Could be an advantage as I know I feast on my dream images and visualizations like a glutton at table full of pork.
  24. Third Eye Blind: Aphantasia

I recently (just a few weeks ago) discovered in a conversation with my wife... after nearly 30 years of marriage, that my wife has aphantasia. She cannot form images or visualize anything in her mind. When I say to her, imagine a red ball. She does not see a red ball in some manner in her mind. She has a sense of a ball that is red, but sees no virtual color or shape. This gob-smacked me... Didn't know this was possible, except in cases of brain damage, which is recorded. But evidently for as many as one in fifty, folks are simply not able to form pictures/images, sounds, smells... nothing in their mind's eye. Something I didn't even know was a thing in human constructs... It absolutely horrified me and has been weighing on me as I consider how other's meditate and dream... and think or even conceive of ideas and concepts. It came about when I was really pegging her down over a dream she had had and how the building she was in was created... and she couldn't describe it in concrete terms. She then revealed that she does not and has never in her life visualized any sight or sound of anything in her mind... that she indeed cannot and has no idea how to go about visualizing or creating any images in her mind... no sound, no sights, no smells... nada... only feelings of things... the overall sense of them. She dreams, but only through cognitive intuition... she feels the settings and the events... she does not experience them in the manner I do, by standing in a location, where I see, touch, feel, taste and smell all that is transpiring around me. We are both utterly awed and stunned by how the other processes images and by how the other's mind works. I told her, no wonder math and geometry were so challenging for you... for me, math is almost all visualization of groupings and relationships.... So anyway there's that... aphantasia... third eye blind.
  25. The prison of beliefs.

so many types of prisons so many types of slavery I dearly appreciate the scenes between Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and Hamlet. This little exchange is so densely packed with layered meanings for me... incredible stuff. time to reread it again. Guildenstern: Prison my Lord? Hamlet: Denmark is a prison. Rosencrantz: Why then your ambition makes it one. 'Tis too narrow for your mind. Hamlet: O God, I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space—were it not that I have bad dreams. Guildenstern: Which dreams indeed are ambition, for the very substance of the ambitious is merely the shadow of a dream.
