Thanks for your clarification morning dew: It's not that I missed this, or you disdain for the video, but that I did not think that it was strong enough: it should be obvious that we would all (Roosh included) be shooting ourselves in the foot: Yes, I agree it should be obvious, but it isn't, otherwise we wouldn't be having this discussion at all would we? And the fact that it is not obvious is why we should condemn this type of attitude in the strongest possible way, which is what I set out to do, though since most people have no idea of the influence of Plato on whatever was and is best about Western Culture, it could not be as strong as it should have been, or should be, but that ignorance is not my fault and much as I would like to rectify it, and tried to do so in Plato and Platonism 101, and other posts on Dao Bums, it is simply an uphill job when people confuse Philosophy as Plato and the Platonist envisioned it with the pale, insipid nonsense of Nineteenth and Twentieth Century "intellectualism". What Plato is talking about is the equality of "Souls", and not the "gender roles" which which the "secondary causes" created through evolution in the process of evolving bodies for those "Souls" to achieve "self-realization" by conscious action in the world. It is this opportunity to waken from the "bardo dream state", to use Buddhist terminology, which is offered by incarnation, and it is the struggle to awaken which is the great struggle and challenge of human life, and one which regrettably, most people fail, and fail for a variety of reasons, but they are certainly not being helped by the sexist nonsense of "SeekerofHealing", who in his opening post on the welcome page said this: before his own emotional blocks and problems reasserted themselves, and he became "GiverofBadAdvice", a person who seems to have learned nothing from two suspensions and stands on the precipice of being banned, for reasons which I am sure he will not be able to comprehend. I am going to take advantage of this opportunity to repeat my link to: Why are women being educated? and urge people who haven't already, to read the whole series, its not as easy as watching a Video, but it is worth the time and effort.

This is an interesting little section and discussion on it. I'm not really familiar with this part of the book; I was a little surprised to see ZZ getting theological. Perhaps this part (and others) are specifically designed to work either way, i.e. religious or materialist/philosophical interpretations, reflecting the uncertainty/scepticism of the butterfly dream from earlier chapters? Perhaps, ZZ didn't even have an opinion either way and left it open to people to decide? I'm not sure, just speculating.

Honestly, the exercise I described above has been working pretty consistently now... It helps me "get out of my head" (literally), but it's also kind of a curious experience that requires my attention. It's kind of trippy and dream like in itself... I used to do Yoga Nidra but it only worked a few times. What does work, ironically is imaging myself actually doing yoga poses.! Again, it distracts me from my thoughts, and also induces a feeling of relaxation. But shooting energy out of the top of my head and then merging my aura with everything is working better than that. I guess there's no equivalent orbit in Daoism

Do these practices lead to Demonic Possession?
shazlor replied to yondaime109's topic in General Discussion
I wonder if by embodying the energetic frequency of Jesus' name, I ponder if one's capable of projecting astral bolts of Zeus' fame? "Do you know how to write? Do you know how to read? Do you know how to tint? Do you know how to try? Do you know how to ask? Do you know how to offer? Do you know how to send? Do you know how to slaughter? A tenth as well; if malicious little witches I see At play up in the air, I work it so their way they lose, Their hamas they lose, their homes can’t find. (I know a tenth: If troublesome ghosts Ride the rafters aloft, I can work it so they wander astray, Unable to find their forms, Unable to find their homes.) " Listen to this radio show about the Tchoa-Tchoa (spelling) considered to be Asian pygmies and malevolent fae for a compass bearing on the amplification of the 'alien' and 'negative spirit' psy-op phenomena... information on them is quite hard to come by.. The topic is discussed at 1hour 25minutes through to the end of the broadcast. He talks about them in more detail on other transmissions and interviews. Happy hunting. https://youtu.be/nHFBuqZiLxA Truth is indeed stranger than fiction.... And the world is a small place.... "“There are two classes of fairies, the Dundonians, that are like ourselves, and another race, more wicked and more spiteful.” So says the west Irish peasant. The Maori has their counterparts, the fairy woodsman and the fierce malevolent Maero." Believe it or don't, it is up to you - my source is one you will not find anywhere on the internet. Some of the stories hold truth, though most are full of fallacies and outright imaginative dramatisation. Patupaiarehe are not extinct, but there are few left. They avoid humans through distrust. They are a peaceful race, and they were attacked with no provocation. Humans have only gotten more warlike in their eyes and they want little to nothing to do with us. Although some rare few may still be able to approach and communicate, I wouldn't advise it. If you see one and it doesn't flee, do not approach. Wait until they either approach or leave. Avoid aggression at all cost. They have learned to protect themselves in manners we could not fathom. Although they do not originate from New Zealand, they were the first settlers that could be classed as even somewhat human, though they are not human, they are one of the many Fae races - one of the oldest (YouTube 'New Zealand skeletons in the closet' for a segment where an archaeologist had 4ft 'human' remains dnanalyzed- same genetics as people in Wales 3,500 b.c... Hmmmm. The whole operation was closed and all findings locked away until 2063) and they still have their power. Those who arrived in New Zealand, the ones now known as Maori, were not so originally. They were Polynesian; when Patupaiarehe and the Polynesian humans mated, they created Maori. Maori can be considered half human, half Fae. I an told that not all Maori as we know them now are Maori to Patupaiarehe. Patupaiarehe only consider those who share their bloodline (no matter how little of that blood is there) to be true Maori. The rest, to them are still considered Polynesian. This is all I Have been told, as it is all I am allowed to share. I hope this may help some of you in further understanding, and in the case you chance a physical encounter or become lucid to your subconscious dream intrusions. -
While this is true, we can attain a state such that we no longer dream. Chuang Tzu spoke to this.

Pre-requisites of Enlightenment: Given the various contributions in this thread, I had to ask for a clearer definition of what this ‘enlightenment’ was supposed to mean in the original post. The reply in #70 stated a slew of what enlightenment was meant by original contributor kaverni. I agreed with SeekerofHealing that there was no common ground as to what enlightenment is amongst those religions. From the old Oxford Dictionary, enlightenment means, “free from ignorance, prejudice, superstition, etc” and “the period (18th Century) when men believed that reason, and science (and not religion) would advance human progress”. In thread #1, what it said here hinged on Buddhist beliefs. And, I shall restrict my reply based on my Buddhist beliefs. #1: They say animals cannot get enlightened because they lack the necessary faculty. Only in human form it is possible. It has been said, even devas/angels have to take human birth to attain liberation. (Comment: There are within Buddhist belief, 6 realms of existence, and the animal realm is one of them. According to the birth stories of The Buddha, he was an animal for a few times in his previous births. Before his last birth, He was a deva in the Tusita Heaven.) Made me wonder, if I have to make a prerequisites list for liberation, what would it include. I am starting with the assumption, it has to be human. I welcome challenges against this also. What else is absolutely needed? #13 They = some sources I have read or heard, that makes some sense with what I observe outside. This is also the general belief. Science would confirm that Animals lack faculties that humans possess. Whether those faculties(#1, Does, health, functions of organs, energy, kundalini any of this are pre-requisites?) are enough to get enlightened, this is the question. #14 Is the transfer of Consciousness, enlightenment? Is the ‘bubble’ Consciousness? Every one does not get such transferred consciousness. So, what is the basic thing needed. For a bubble to burst, there should be a bubble in the first place. (Comment: Rebirth is not Enlightenment) #37 Is logical thinking and analysis required to understand enlightenment? Is enlightenment a mental process? Yes, we can only look at the example and illustrations outside, as long as we think and analyze with the mind. Assuming the thinking faculty is necessary in some way to inquire and figure this out. (Comment: weeding out defilements is not just a mental process,; effort, and wisdom are needed) Why did Buddha get enlightened under that Bodhi tree on that day? Why not, on the day when he saw the suffering and decided, I don't want to live such a life, I want to find an answer to this. Why did he not attain nirvana right then and there? If we were to give an answer to this question with mind, we have to agree it is a process. (Comment: You should read the sutras/suttas, or His Life Story/History. In short, after 7 years of searching and tried both extreme practices, he was close to death until a lady from a nearby village came with a bowl of milk-rice. She was instructed by a deva in a dream the previous night to make the offering to a tree-deva in the forest. The next day, she went into the forest to search for the tree-deva, but finding none, and instead found a man, rather unkempt, sitting underneath a tree. She offered the milk-rice to him instead. That person was Siddharta. He ate the milk-rice. His body was nourished, and he went to the nearby river to wash. He then thought that the day could be the day of his enlightenment. He then place his begging bowl into the river and said that if that was the day, let the bowl flow upstream. And so it did flow upstream. With that reassured faith, he made a resolve not rise from the seat (beneath the banyan tree) until he was enlightened. For 7 days and nights, he meditated beneath the banyan tree and on the 7th day, he was fully ‘enlightened’.) #38 Is enlightenment permanent? Does it occur at the body+mind level? Enlightenment has to be permanent at some level. May not be at body+mind level. If it is not permanent at any level, then as Om Swami writes on his book "Kundalini", it might be better to go smoke pot, rather than be on this pursuit. (Comment: Enlightenment is permanent). #49 No response as to what are the requirements to enlightenment? No one has responded (yet) as requirement, what many books & teachers advocate as the methods, or process that sets the path: 1) karma yoga (state of effortless action) 2) raja yoga/energy work. (opened up, cleansed the nervous system) 3) jnana yoga/ inquiry into his nature with discipline and dispassion 4) surrender, practise of devotion/ bhakti yoga diligently #55 I can wholeheartedly agree with this based on my experience (now). One path opened(ing) up ways to others naturally became(ing) all. I used to believe that it has to take a certain charted course or path. In particular, I was hung up on karma-yoga, and strongly believed it has to happen early on the game, before others. I went out of my way to find justifications for this on scriptures & talks, later blamed them entirely. After all, it can't be my fault (Comment: Nibbana is the destination, and once you choose to proceed towards it, you need to take the main road, Enlightenment. But there are many side-paths along the way which many had veered towards, but in time, they would be back on the main path). #70 What Buddhist say as 'Nirvana'. What Hindus call as 'Moksha'. What is generally described as 'Enlightenment', 'Liberation' or 'Freedom' by modern day teachers. Understanding that one is not just body+mind+ego, therefore transcending the suffering & agony caused by such false or narrow identification. Comment What is Enlightenment? The Pali word is Bodhi. And the factors of enlightenment, Bojjhanga. There are 7 factors, or as you like, pre-requisites to Enlightenment. “ (Through Bodhi) one awakens from the slumber or stupor (inflicted upon the mind) by the defilements (kilesa) and comprehends the four Noble Truths” – commentary to Majjhima Niyaka 10. What is Nibbana/Nirvana? The term is often translated to be ‘Extinction’; to cease blowing, to become extinguished, ‘freedom from desires’. It is explained as “Nibbana constitutes the highest and ultimate goal of all Buddhist aspirations, ie absolute extinction of that life-affirming Will manifested as Greed, Hate, and Delusion, and convulsively clinging to existence; and therewith also the ultimate and absolute deliverance from all future rebirth, old age, disease and death, from all suffering and misery.” – Buddhist Dictionary, Manual of Buddhist Terms and Doctrines, by Nyanatiloka. Thus, Enlightenment is not Nibbana. It is not 1, or 2 nor 3 pre-requisites, but 7 pre-requisites of Enlightenment. So, what are the 7 factors/pre-requisites of Enlightenment? The Bojjhanga. “The 7 factors of Enlightenment are; Mindfulness (sati-sambojjhanga), Investigation of the Law (dhamma-vicaya), Energy (viriya), Rapture (pitti), Tranquility (passaddhi), Concentration (samadhi), and Equanimity (uppekkha).” – Buddhist Dictionary, Manual of Buddhist Terms and Doctrines, by Nyanatiloka. Thank you for this thread, and it could not have come anytime better. On 10th May 2017, the Buddhist world celebrates the thrice-blessed day of Vesak. My reply to the OP may not be satisfactory or too brief, but you are urged to ‘investigate the Law’, that is, go and study Buddhism in a proper place if you are seriously in search of answers and wisdom. I shall end with a wish for all of you Bums, “Sabbe Satta Sukhita Hontu”, meaning, May you (and your loved ones) be well and happy always! Happy Vesak!

Imagine dreaming you're a butterfly. When is it no longer a dream ? It reveals that our conscious and subconscious create a dichotomy but once you are awake and can dream or asleep and yet be awake shows these two sides are really closer than we realize. If I plant a flower in universal consciousness can you see or find or feel or experience its growth?
-
You are your mind and your consciousness, but these two wouldn't exist without a brain. As soon as your brain dies, your mind and consciousness cease to exist. The only purpose of the body is to feed with fuel the brain. That's why you have organs. Your consciousness can exist without body parts that are not vital but cannot exist without vital organs. If just one of your vital organs fails, your whole life including mind and consciousness cease to exist. Just that simple. If you think your consciousness exist without a body because you can dream or you can have visions, think deeper. You wouldn't dream anything without your body being functional. There are not such things as spirits, ghosts, angels, demons, immortals... they are all fantasies of the mind, they are illusions of the brain.

Finding and committing to a spiritual practice has always been the biggest battle of my life. These are the subjects I'm preoccupied every minute of my life, yet very little progress is made in the practical sense. And it is no wonder if I'm still a bud hesitating to bloom. Long story short, the dark night of the soul was 8 years long. It was mainly due to having discovered the path among many. It was proving to be everything imaginable and unimaginable. It had a way of unveiling the true me; my potential, abilities, knowledge, experiences were emerging like meeting an old long-forgotten friend. But due to very valid reasons, I'd convinced myself against pursuing that path. It was the most painful thing ever, worse even than losing a loved one. In a way, I'm still stuck because it never happened. But what did also happen is a lesson that is worth a million lifetimes was accomplished through that. Something that was even more dear and profound than reaping the greatest benefits for oneself through a practice. I'm sorry for being obscure. Now that the lesson brought by nothing less than the Divine Grace itself is fulfilled, it's eternally mine to cherish, I have an option to go back and do what my heart's desire was. But I've also been entertaining a thought that a brand new beginning might be awaiting, and perhaps an even better practice can come in, if I'm open, as a reward for all the tears, longing and enduring the pain. Developing a relationship with my Spiritual Consultants (call it even God) was one of the outcomes of my torturous experience. For a while, I've been praying hard for an authentic qigong practice. I was led to TheDaoBums. Certain issues were cleared up that were still lingering. Next, a practice of Flying Phoenix was chosen for experimentation. Now, I don't do this, I'm normally very hesitant to try something new, and never just explore practices. As the DVD4 was on its way, I again prayed for assertion that this is right and also wondering how this system works. Following that were two miraculous dreams. (Well, before that... Not knowing anything about FP, out of nowhere I began listening to Om Mani Padme Hum mantra daily. Later on, I noticed mentioning of Guanyin being perhaps related to FP, and I thought "humm") So, the first dream was followed after an evening of several hours of uncontrollable sobbing listening to different Hindu mantras. That night I was taken and reunited with my spiritual family. I was home with my eternal relatives being comforted, nourished and tutored. Waking up that day, I was flying on wings, my heart ready to leap out of chest from joy. The next night I asked specifically to show me their thoughts on FP before I start doing it. Very vividly, I hear them explain to me without words and show in some other dimensional way how FP works. (I will use my terminology) So, God or Dao created everything perfect. The space represents the Will of God. Space in time, between objects, inside our bodies... And the energy of this highest will is in color blue. When we come to be in dis-accord with this will, illnesses (and other misfortunes) manifest in our bodies. We lose the purity and continuity of this blue energy inside and around us. And FP has a way of restoring it. Something like that... Further more, I was also praying for a practice that would do as much good for my family members as for myself. And I have been worried about the future of my little daughter having looked at her natal chart. So, again they confirmed that my daughter especially will get so much healing through this if I do it. What am I still doubting? Well, that's me...Or rather my stubborn mind. Or maybe I just needed to remind myself. To be honest these miraculous events are the only thing that keeps me hopeful giving this my best. And a phrase by Sifu Terry "practicing FP is being virtuous" constantly pulsates in my mind. Anyway, just felt like sharing. And, more than anything, if this brings something positive to any of you, it was worth the long post.

thanks mate... appreciate your clarifying... I was still rather theta'd out even now, from intense dream winteractions and early morning breath work. The data here reinforces my experience while living in NYC. It was very surprising to this naive white boy from Minnesota that there were (and I assume still are) vast areas where police will simply not go in the boroughs, which are left to govern and police themselves. It was described that the reason for this is that it is not possible to safely deal with issues on the street, when there are 40 stories of windows above you on either side, from which death and problems can rain down upon you while you are otherwise engaged. The reality for me was driven home when my wife and I were chased on sight for several blocks by a mob of half a dozen thugs, when we strayed into one of these areas ignorantly... We quickly learned to consult locals when venturing into new areas of the city before heading there as it could just mean death. This data also supports my observations about the issue in that... the vast majority of the issues and problems are created by a very small minority of the people and in this case, that seems to be consentrated into very small areas. Very enlightening info... thanks for sharing.

gendao are you on the autistic spectrum or something? ADMIN PLEASE GIVE ME A LIFETIME BAN THANK YOU I mean really just read through all the comments in this thread and try and tell me with a straight face that I'm actually the one with problems rather than the other way around. And it's not like it's just this thread either, in other threads people are calling me names saying I'm psychotic saying I'm unenlightened etc etc. I wouldn't dream of acting that way toward other people and yet when these things are directed at me all is right with the world. Well you know what I'm not buying it. I think you're all fucking retarded and I don't want anything to do with any of you. So I'll very happily take a lifetime ban. Thanks! -
While I agree with some of what he says, some other parts are contradictory or delusional wishful thinking. He preaches unplugging from media and consumerism...yet gives examples of worthy dreams as creating better social media and becoming a multi-millionaire. And then dreams on about how merely modest conspicuous consumption, even in middle age, could then magically attract young women like bees to nectar? But, if this is all it takes to pull a hot 24-yo trio from a club...then shouldn't MOST guys already be able to do it? You don't really need to dream that big to afford a ~$20Kish car, lol.

3 Parts Of The Matrix You Must Unplug From Instead of listing the traits, habits and behaviors that successful people have and how to apply them to your life, my objective for this article is to tell you the three divisions of the Matrix you must unplug from to give yourself a better chance for success, happiness, and overall a more fulfilling life. I’ve purposely ordered the divisions in what I feel would be the easiest sequence to unplug from, though you may find your personal order to be different. Let’s begin with the first… Companionship Companionship, also known as a serious relationship, is by far the most deceitful division of the Matrix (which is also why this section will be the most comprehensive), because while you’re enjoying the euphoric highs and dealing with the typical lows you don’t quite realize what you lost until the ride is over. Understand that it is not my intent to denigrate long-term relationships or marriage. I feel that these two forms of companionship can be very rewarding later on in a man’s life when he is accomplished and mentally ready for either endeavor. However, you must understand that every man has three banks that he must protect at all cost: The Time Bank, The Money Bank, and The Energy/Desire Bank. In order to be truly successful and achieve greatness at whatever you strive to accomplish you will more than likely need to devote a significant amount of your time, money, and energy. The problem is that by being involved in a serious relationship or marriage you have (whether intentionally or not) communicated to your woman that she is numero uno in the hierarchy of important things in your life (otherwise you would have never committed to her exclusively right?). This is where conflict arises. So you want to create the next social media site to knock Facebook on its ass? Good luck telling your girlfriend/wife you can’t take her to the movies because you have various manuals to read on source coding. So you have expensive computer hardware and software to buy in order to launch you business? Good luck telling her you won’t be financially able to take her on that big trip to Aruba for her birthday like you promised her last year. Which brings me to the Energy/Desire Bank; do you honestly think that after getting off from your 9-5 and jumping head first into building your side business or pursuing your hobbies that you will have the energy or desire to put up with what will be the constant nagging of your woman? You’re relationship will resemble the movie Groundhog Day with repeated naggings of “We barely spend time together anymore” and “You haven’t taken me anywhere nice since you’ve been spending all your money on that stupid project” and my favorite “It’s like your mind is always somewhere else when we hangout, you’re not the same guy I fell in love with”. And guess what gentleman; she’s right. Women aren’t designed or conditioned to play second fiddle to anything let alone the business idea that you’ve been spending so much of your time, money, and energy on to get off the ground. Women just don’t understand sacrifice and will rarely if ever see the big picture. Understand we are not talking about Lebron’s high school sweetheart that stuck it out with him until his NBA dreams came to fruition. We are talking about regular ole you with ambitions to be the first multi-millionaire in your family. Girlfriends/wives have a hard time picturing “regular ole you” achieving the types of things that only a small percentage of people ever will. Does this mean she doesn’t love you? Of course not. Does this mean she doesn’t believe you have the drive or intelligence to pull it off? Sometimes. But more than anything your girlfriend or wife has been programmed from birth to believe she’s the most important thing on earth and that any man who would put her at number two for “some silly business idea” doesn’t deserve her. So what happens next? Once she doesn’t “feel the flame anymore,” she will more than likely cheat on you until she figures out that she doesn’t even have to be sneaky about it because you’re so preoccupied with getting your dream off the ground. Soon to follow will be the break up or divorce. Of course you will be devastated, heartbroken, and completely caught off guard. After all, you were working all those sleepless nights and investing your hard earned money not only for yourself but for the manifestation of your dreams that she would also benefit from. Wouldn’t it just be easier to stay single, sleep around freely, and pursue your dreams without worrying about who you may be neglecting? Many men have found out the hard way that it’s extremely difficult to achieve major accomplishments while carrying the burden of companionship. If you have lofty goals of entrepreneurship, adventure, travel, etc make sure you stay single until you can look yourself in the mirror and feel satisfied with your life accomplishments. Think of it like sports, you shouldn’t retire until you’ve got some championship rings on your fingers. Ultimately I feel worse for guys that never attempted to follow their dreams and let them dissolve in favor of Companionship. Consumerism The second division of the Matrix we must unplug from is consumerism. The dictionary definition of consumerism is a social and economic order and ideology that encourages the acquisition of goods and services in ever-greater amounts. I will expand on that definition with two different forms of consumerism the American man are often victims of. Goods/Services As men we are constantly bombarded with advertisements for body washes and shampoos that will make women want to rape us, cars that will instantly make even the lowliest of nerds as cool as Steve McQueen, expensive clothes that will make us resemble models regardless of our beer guts, and expensive bottle service at the hottest club in town that will get the most gorgeous women to flock to us. All of these things are a mere attempt to exploit our inner desire for hot women. The problem with all these products is that they aim to bypass genuine self improvement in favor of a shortcut. Who doesn’t love a good shortcut right? The issue here is that shortcuts more times than not persuade us to spend money we don’t really have to look like something we’re really not. Ask yourself, who’s really winning here in the transaction? The guy who’s going to have to eat Ramen noodles for the next 2 weeks because he spent half his check on bottle service, or the old grey hair out of shape fart leaving the club in a Benz with three hot 24 year olds? It would’ve been much cheaper and rewarding to just buy Roosh’s game guides and develop a strict workout regime. In due time we will be able to drop a couple grand on bottle service and purchase sports cars without looking at the price tag, but we have to delay gratification long enough to achieve our dreams and ambitions first. The American society also gets in on the action as well. They call it “The American Dream.” I can’t tell you how many of my buddies successfully unplug from the Companionship Matrix only to fall victim to the Consumerism Matrix and buy some big ass expensive house they didn’t need because society said it was “smarter than renting”. Now they’ve unnecessarily anchored themselves to a city that might not present the best options for their success, along with owning a home that no longer is worth the value they paid for it. What happens next? Since they “feel so lonely” in that big ass house they take ten steps back and voluntarily plug into the Companionship Matrix. They find a spend-happy wife, have kids they aren’t really ready for because “her biological clock was ticking”, and now their flight to success and happiness is permanently grounded. The reason you can’t let this type of consumerism take control of you is because the money that consumerism coerces you into spending on “meaningless things” is the same capital that you could be using to fuel your dreams and ambitions. Essentially consumerism is a veiled thief, slowly stealing your dreams by giving you a quick dopamine rush. Tv/Media The things we tend to consume from the media whether it’s online, in a magazine, or on television play a pivotal role in keeping us plugged into the matrix and shaping our ideologies (politics included). Let me preface this by saying that I watch cable television. I have specific shows I tune into every week, and I am a huge lover of sports. The problem I find with most of my colleagues at work is that the majority of their conversations (95%) revolve around “what went down on last night’s episode” of XYZ TV show along with debates about sports teams that get so intense you would think they had a family member that played on the team. I never hear guys talk about what they like to do off the clock, or what projects and hobbies they’re working on. It appears to me that they’ve traded in what dreams they may have had in order to live vicariously through their favorite actors and athletes. Though I try to stick to watching shows that have some type of redeeming value in my life; I have my fair share of useless entertainment I consume like everyone else. We must keep this to a minimum. While we may be entertained sitting on our couches staring at the big screen while sipping on a good brew, we are essentially watching people who are being paid to live out their dreams right before our eyes. Do you really want to spend your precious time watching other people being paid to live their dreams, or do you want to go out and get your dreams off the ground? The Media Matrix (via ET, Access Hollywood, TMZ, etc) has tried to mind-fuck us into believing only athletes and celebrities deserve to live the playboy jet setter lifestyle. This is false. Athletes and celebrities are a drop in the bucket in comparison to the amount of hard working no names living life on their own terms with no limits. We have no limits but the ones we place on ourselves. This division of the Matrix aims to siphon your time by keeping you distracted and unconsciously celebrating the successes of other people as if they were your own. Corporate America The third division of Matrix we must unplug from to be truly successful is Corporate America. This topic has been beaten to death to the point that we all should understand the importance of unplugging from the Corporate America Matrix. Most of us will need Corporate America at some point in our lives because we have bills to pay but to be frank, you company doesn’t give a fuck about you. They don’t care about your dreams, your bills, your pregnant wife, or the new house you just bought. Corporations exist solely to make the owner(s) and shareholders filthy rich and nothing else. Your company revenue could increase by 1 billion dollars in a year and all they would tell you is “great job guys, but I think if we dig a little deeper this year we can surpass last year’s revenues”. You think they’re going to give you a cut of that big pie you help bake? You think a 3% raise is going to change your life with inflation at 2%? Your “REAL JOB” is to fuck your company for the most money you can and leave to pursue you dreams. Treat your job like a slut that you would discard when she’s no longer bringing you the same pleasure she once did. What about all the great friends I made at my job? Fuck them. I mean that in the most respectful way possible. If your colleagues want to drink the corporate Kool-Aid and build their lives on a shaky foundation, let them. It’s not your job to save the world, save yourself first and they will see the light if they want to. By no means is everything in this article an absolute for everyone reading it. If you are the exception consider yourself lucky instead of calling me a dick for not considering the outliers. For the rest of us, it should be in our plans to unplug from all three divisions of the Matrix to give ourselves the best shot at a happy and successful life. I understand not everyone reading this article will be in the position to unplug completely, but it is better to unplug from one or two of the three divisions than none at all. You will be happier and most likely more successful than 95% of your male counterparts who are hopelessly plugged it. To get back to this: Liver and Gallbladder have a lot of relationship to eyes and ears, this is because the Liver releases its excess through the Gallbladder and its channel. A standard symptom of Liver excess is high pitched tinnitus, and over sensitivity of vision and hearing are associated with Liver/Gallbladder problems. Now, just some general observations based on what you have described so far. If this person you have in mind was a demanding, demeaning boss, who constantly berated and bullied you, then the idea that over time you would develop a fearful attitude to him, as well as feelings of anger and frustration related to him seems reasonable. If in letting go of the fear issues that you mentioned, you also let go of some of the inhibitions that kept have kept this anger and frustration "locked up", because to express it would be harmful to your work situation, then the anger and frustration, which are associated with Liver and by extension Gallbladder, may have also come to the surface, possibly even in the image of the dream wolf as a symbol of this old boss, whose dream attack on you mirror your bosses attacks on you, then this may help explain a good part of what has been going on. That doesn't mean that there aren't "psychic attack" levels going on, because a person who in rage is yelling at you, is projecting an awful lot of negative qi, and if they dwell on this, they can unconsciously create "thought blobs", which don't deserve the name "thought forms", which can be mildly harmful to others, but this is not a psychic attack in the sense of being a spell or something like that done by a person who really knows what they are doing. Your real danger here was probably not from him, but from your own reactions to him. Keeping a positive attitude, learning some simple shielding and strengthening your "defensive qi" may be a good idea for future dealings with this person. Remember, this is only based on what you have told me, and I have not done any deeper investigation, but I do have a lot of experience with this sort of thing, and have a pretty good sense of what is usually involved. I hope this is helpful. ZYD -
Ive had a crushing pounding headache since this morning after waking up from a dream of being attacked by a wolf. I'm getting seriously bad vibes from somewhere, can sense subtle black smog around me, my head feels like its being squeezed, and can't shift awful negative state of mind... eyes were also burning and stinging earlier, i couldn't keep them open it was so bad.. Also had burning marks appear on forehead earlier briefly, and eyes were being strange, felt like some kind of adjustment, due to internal or external reason i dont know... It feels like more than one person are united in their negative intent towards me... i don't know if this is my imagination, or its people, or dark forces... not in a state of mind to tell... Now, i've tried praying, putting up a shield, and tuning into the higher levels, but its not working! Can anyone either give suggestions for diagnosing what is happening, or suggest what i can do about it please? its been going on for about 5 or 6 hours now... Thanks, Edward

So what's the deal between qigongs and dreams?
allinone replied to qicat's topic in Daoist Discussion
Sorry about my english and sentence structure. Waking life is already built world. Dream is built with basically from scratch, big bang and after dream ends it will end all. In waking life you will work rebuilding, restoring your generative force. I don't know why bother on dream, while in waking life you can't still do things because you are preprogrammed and haven't restored original codes. edit: waking life is to be treated as it is dream and fully built before you were born from your parents. So there isn't difference between dream and waking life. .... there is a limit how far you go, as it may be capped with the need to work every time you want human body. Many inhabit body but are not human immortals, that say they will born low again like as ghost. -
If you could study internal arts with any teacher in the world, who would it be?

I'm seriously considering moving out of my small midwestern American city in search of some serious internal arts instructors. I work remotely, so I could potentially move anywhere. So far, Taiwan has been standing out as a great place. I've read some articles about studying with Chen Yun Ching at the Fo Guang Shan Monastery in southern Taiwan. I've got a lot more research to do before I even come close to making a decision, but I thought I would see what other Tao Bums would do in my shoes. Who is your dream instructor? If you could move anywhere and study with anyone, who would it be? Maybe a side question for anyone who is familiar with Taiwan: is it really the mecca of traditional Chinese arts that its been reputed to be? It looks like there are a lot of opportunities to study internal arts there, but its been hard for me to gauge the quality of any of them. Where can I find the best instructors in the world? -
So what's the deal between qigongs and dreams?

Not sure I fully understand your post allinone, my apologies. One point seems to be the importance of combining dream practice with foundational spiritual practices. I agree with that. Dream practice is a 24 hour cycle and incorporates morning, daytime, evening, and sleep components. In addition, it is meant to be one part of a more comprehensive tantric spiritual practice. You mention that "you require only the lucid dream xp itself not what you do there in or "meditate in dream." I do not agree fully with this point. As Ilya mentioned, the lucid dream experience can be very unstable and it is only through practicing with the lucidity that we can stabilize the practice, make it more predictable, and learn how to effectively manipulate the dream environment. We can learn to change things, make the larger, smaller, multiply things, visit places, seek teachings, and so forth. For the dream practitioner this is all very worthwhile and requires a lot of patience and practice. -

The lucid dream is for a reason after it ends. So if you cultivate then the lucid dream comes it lasts a moment, couple seconds that long it requiers to be and if not get done then you repeat and well don't get stuck with the same stuff. Cultivation is the fundamental side or technical side, you require only the lucid dream xp itself not what you do there in or "meditate in dream". Is it worth to separately wish for lucid dreams?..or is it more worth to improve fundamentals so the lucid dream what is it build of--the conditions change; it is more useful to cultivate that way that lucid dream is one equal part of entire circle of different other points, so that lucid dream separately to practice is inferior. edit: lucid dream xp , if it is even fraction of second, it has to be experienced, remembered. It is even before breathing exercises, there is no point doing breathing work if not xp lucid dream once. Lucid dream opens spiritual thinking. If first timer, then to wish lucid dram, you must have gotten knowledge of its existence, from internet or books, and the instruction: it is usually to when in dream look at the hands to induce coming aware, + there is vibrations, what can be even painful. If you get level up, you at some point experience different kind of lucid dream and some fundamental part of nature of reality it is learned there. -
So what's the deal between qigongs and dreams?

Most people who practice run in to that obstacle. The realization that "I am dreaming" leads to excitement which destabilizes the realization and we either wake up or find ourselves in another dream. Since we have to sleep every night, there's nothing to lose by continuing the practice! These practices are far from useless but they do take an enormous amount of patience and dedication, especially for those of us not living in monastic circumstances. I think it also helps a great deal to have transmission from a lineage master. -

I am afraid I'm not ready to test whether I am sleeping or not jumping out of buildings :). Speaking seriously, I never managed to stay in a dream after understanding that its a dream for more then several seconds. And in addition, successful cases when I awaked were rare. So I stopped this practice because it seemed me useless. -
you are lucky try jumping of the buildings in those states... It makes you REALLY believe that you are sleeping even if everything is "very real". My reasoning is simple: heck, if I am sleeping and controlling my dream, then I can jump of the building and nothing will happen. And if I am not sleeping and at the rooftop in "real life", well, perhaps that's the "end of the road". Happily for me so far it had been dreams... I wonder where Matrix movie got their ideas... Is it like a common test or something?

I had similar practice some time ago, but every time I managed to realize that I am dreaming in that particular moment, smth made me slowly awake without a possibility to stay in a dream. This practice was very interesting to do because every evening I was guessing if I awake inside the dream or not. But I guess this practice leads us from reality to some unreal worlds. Rgrds, Ilya -
Winyanktehca: Two-souls person Marjorie Anne Napewastewiñ Schützer "I stood among them but not of them." I am 'Sihasapa', 'Lakota', or rather, that is to say that I am of the Blackfoot tribe. We are one of seven tribes of the Sioux nation. I am Native American. An old Lakota word, "Winyanktehca," has today been contracted to the simple word, "winkte," meaning, 'two-souls-person,' or more directly meaning, 'to be as a woman.' (I would like to suggest that in this speech, I will make use of the word 'winkte' synonymously for 'gender-crosser,' in either direction.) I am 'Wakan' - to my people I am sacred and mysterious, I am a spirit person. The Grandfathers tell me this. I have my feet rooted in the earth of my ancestors and my spirit soars with them in the "land above the pines." The anthropologists call me 'Berdache,' but this is wrong. This word has come a long way from its beginnings in Arabia. It means "kept boy" . . . that, I am not. The Western medical community calls me 'transsexual', but this is not entirely true either. I am 'winkte,' I am a gender-crosser. My people see me as multidimensional and I do not have to fight for a place in my society to be accepted. I already have a place, a very special and sacred place. In my culture I represent a profound healing, a reconciliation of the most fundamental rift that divides us, human from human - gender. I was called through a vision, by "Anog Ite", (Double Face Woman) from out of the womb, to be that which I am. She offered me a choice. Lakota deities never order. My gender transformation was called for by the Spirits. She blessed me with skills of a supernatural kind. One of our 'Wicasa Wakan.' or Medicine Men of today, John Lame Deer, says in his book, Lame Deer, Seeker of Visions, 'winkte' are men who dress like women, look like women and act like women. They do so by their own choice or in obedience to a dream. They are not like other men, but 'Wakan Tanka', the Great Spirit, made them 'winktes' and we accept them as such. To us a man is what nature, or his dreams, make him. We accept him for what he wants to be. That's up to him. In our tribe we go to a 'winkte' to give a new born child a secret name. They have the gift of prophecy, and the secret name a 'winkte' gives to a child is believed to be especially powerful and effective. In former days a father gave a 'winkte' a fine horse in return for such a name. If nature puts a burden on a person, it also gives a power and that which I produce with my hands is "highly desirable." Anog Ite has set my feet on both sides of the 'line' and I can see into the hearts of both men and women. We are hunters and we keep the house, we cook and do beadwork. I . . . have chosen the path I have walked. In the Lakota language there are no personal pronouns and a child is simply a child until the age or four or five, when he or she shows that which they are. I have a place also, in this . . . your society. My people have always held their 'winkte' in awe and reverence and before the 'white-man' came to the 'new world' we were many. But our numbers shrank and we began to hide within ourselves as our religious systems were attacked and shattered by western attitudes. Because of the impact of white ridicule we had all but disappeared. Because of the enormous difference between European societies and Native American societies, differences which theoretically rules out any comparison of their respective sex and gender roles, we must ask ourselves, "What is being lost?" Is it possible that within a Native American interpretation we see something that a Western point of view cannot? Being Lakota, I know myself as something precious and the dignity in such knowing pulls me to my full tallness. Being 'winkte' however, allows me the full capability of achieving a strong ego identity, originality, and an active inner life, which is characteristic of adult individuation and personality development. We are "shamans." We are called upon to bestow secret and powerful names on the new born, names which represent 'long-life' and which could lead to fame. Sitting Bull, Black Elk, even Crazy Horse had a secret 'winkte' name which only a few people knew. These names are often very sexy, even funny, very outspoken. You don't let a stranger know them; he would kid you about it! We were consulted to divine the success of proposed battles. We were tied closely to the war complex, we were even a crucial part of it. We treated the wounded we had custody of the scalps and carried these into camp. We ran the victory dance that followed the raiders' return. Some tribal councils decided nothing without our advice. We were called upon to conduct burials. There are certain cures and uses for herbs known only to 'winktes'. The most sacred of our ceremonies, the Sun Dance, could not begin without our selecting and raising the poles to be used. But even more significant it was believed that our power could extend beyond the individual to affect others. The prosperity and even their existence as a people, in some Native American Societies, depended upon their 'winkte'. One of the major aspects which distinguishes 'winkte' in our native culture, is a preference for the work of the other sex. This key trait, in the Native American perspective, was perhaps of the least importance to western society, since whites do not value women's worth anyway. The crossing of these boundaries requires an unusually strong endowment with power . . . and those who allow themselves to see us with their spirit eyes . . . they can see this. What has Western civilization lost by its apparent lack of a counterpart to 'winkte'- by, indeed, bending every social institution to the task of stigmatizing gender mediation? More than the waste of the individual's potential which suppression entails, there is the loss of the "winkte spirit guide" who serves men and women alike with the insights of the intermediate position. This raises the question whether men and women today can ever achieve mutuality and wholeness, as long as men who manifest qualities considered feminine, and women who do the same in male realms, are seen as deviants to be criminalized and stigmatized. The fear of being associated with this deviant status stands before every man and woman who would seek psychic integration, regardless of their emotional and sexual orientation. It is made all too apparent through the observation that, in societies which make a minimum use of sex as a discriminating factor in prescribing behaviour, as opposed to those that maximize sex distinction, that we see 'winktes' become not only open and prevalent, but even necessary. Western images of men and women are not as flexible as 'oyte ikce' (native people). Violent outbursts of hatred or anger toward 'winkte,' comparable to expressions of western homophobia, have never been recorded in Native American history. However, a biological and not a social definition of gender continues to inform both popular and scientific western thinking. But being male biologically and "acting like a man" are not necessarily the same thing. 'winkte' are not branded as threats to a rigid gender ideology; but rather, we are considered an affirmation of humanity's original pre-gendered unity - we are representatives of a form of solidarity and wholeness which transcends the division of humans into men and women. 'winkte' transformation was not, and is not, a complete shift from his or her biological gender to the opposite one, but rather an approximation of the latter in some of its social, and of course today, its physical aspects, effecting an intermediate status that cuts across the boundaries between gender categories. As long as our perceptions continue to be filtered through a dual gender ideology and arbitrary distinctions based on biological sex are held, 'winkte' patterns cannot be appreciated for what they really are. That is, the appropriate and intrinsic behaviour of a third gender. From a dual gender perspective, 'winkte' can only imitate the behaviour of one or the other of the two "real" genders, an imitation which is invariably found inferior and counterfeit. Those behaviours inappropriate for an individual's biological sex, like cross-dressing, are consequently singled out. But comparisons of male to female 'winkte' to women, invariably reveal more about the speaker's view of women (usually a negative one) than they do about 'winkte'. In light of the "discovery" of the third gender, all such accounts must be re-evaluated. Everyone can take inspiration from a society where individuality and community are not always at odds. In our work we must remember . . . the most important objective we are called upon to realize with our clients is to make available to them this sense of wholeness and inner solidarity. In fact that very wholeness and solidarity which all humans are seeking. It is only through our understanding that 'winkte' status transcends the boundaries of a gender category that is biologically and not culturally and socially defined, that we attain an intermediate gender status, biologically the same but culturally redefined. In many ways, socially, legally, psychologically and even in this day and age, physiologically, western tradition still ignores the individual motivations of our 'winkte', stressing instead categories and labels for these people in the name of our own convenience. Such sexual diversity has always been considered one sign of a lower social development. In fact, the response of 19th century Victorian America, like the Spaniards before them, to native sexuality is much the same as we see worldwide today and this exposes in every one of us, a central contradiction in our basic belief system. In fact when seen in the light of traditional Native American values it is impossible to rely entirely on a western analysis without distorting this fantastic phenomenon altogether. This is, without a doubt the key where 'winkte' itself must be understood if one is to comprehend the reasons individuals adopt it. With the recognition of the third gender status the problem of the transsexual or the gender-crosser model becomes clear. For example, the man who becomes a woman contributes to society as a woman. But with a deep understanding of the 'winkte' position, new, unique and rare contributions to society become possible. Society can only benefit by recognizing three, instead of two, genders. Such a reorganization of gender geometrically increases options for individual identities and behaviours. The third gender role of 'winkte,' one which has existed openly within the framework of everyday Lakota culture, is one of native North America's most striking social inventions. At one time, I believed it was a wise person who was able to recognize their own limitations and was then able to operate within those limitations. However I am now convinced that quite the contrary shall be considered as the fact. It rather the wise person who is able to be aware of all of their own possibilities and to then operate at the outer limits of those possibilities. We owe it to our profession, to our clients and to ourselves, to recognize our own possibilities and then in response to that recognition to move ourselves around the "medicine wheel" of life so as to experience those who come to us for help while we ourselves are standing at a different vantage point, my challenge to you today . . . is to simply . . . "think primitive." (Originally posted here by me.)
