  1. Help with Kidney issues

Hi everyone it's me again, so I went to a Chinese medical doctor who also practices Chinese martial arts and has proper lineage. It turns out I have Taiyang/Shaoyang disorder, and my kidneys can't move qi down and possibly some issues with my liver ( no it's not a jing or yin deficiency according to him) any advice to help? Anyone experienced anything similar?
  2. Mr

Hello, I hope this is a forum I’ve been looking to find for a long time to discuss anything regarding true health and with the understanding that not everything is for everyone, even ancient teachings like Ayurveda and Chinese medicine (which I resonate deeply with), as a wellness therapist with over 20 years experience. many thanks! Christiaan
  3. Getting TCM Herbs in the EU

Dear Dao Bums, Where do you get your herbs in the European Union? In my country I get K'an Herbs and their other department Mycoherb from a local TCM company. Sometimes I also get already formulated herbs from Pine Mountain, Seven Forests & White Tiger from a Dutch TCM company that I know through local TCM connections. However, when I want to buy raw, single herbs, I need to get them from German or British Amazon, or sometimes I'm lucky and find them in specialised teastores or bazaar-like shops in the big cities where I live. However, lately I'm looking for american ginseng & dendrobium, and no matter where I search, I can only find them being shipped from outside of EU (e.g. USA or China). The problem with getting them from the US or China is that the delivery will be more than 1 month, and when you finally receive it, you have to pay extra tolls because it's from outside the EU. So I'm desperately searching for a place in the EU, because then delivery is usually within 7 days, and trade within EU is toll-free. Do you have any good places within the EU to get raw single herbs?

  5. Little Treasures

Those of you who studied authentic Chinese Medicine may have heard of these "Little Treasures". Basically they are formulas, "cures", "folk" medicine, closely guarded secrets only shared with a few. They are usually handed down in a lineage but can be passed from a teacher to anyone and are many times family secrets. This topic came to mind as I am searching for my packed up notebook (somewhere) of "Little Treasures". A lot of these are really interesting but would not suit the western...mind... er, no, stomach, er... Anyway, some of them would seem quite bizarre to a western trained person yet sometimes make (western) pharmaceutical sense. It is highly unlikely that anyone who has some of these are able to share due to confidentiality but I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone can. I have never shared these in my workshops. If anyone can, it will be understood that they are not for treating any disease but shared from a historical viewpoint. If I can find my book I will try to share a sample. In the meantime???
  6. Gua Sha

I never hear this discussed much but I can remember when I was growing up that the Vietnamese kids would sit on their back patio and their parents would run a coin over them. I just found a gua sha stone in the office supply drawer. Someone must have thought it was a paper weight.
  7. I came upon a passage from Ted Kaptchuk's book "The Web That Has No Weaver" about Chinese medicine. Here is an image: Of the above conditions, I have all and they are severe. This precisely describes what I have been physically experiencing this past year and which I have not been able to find solutions. I do not have much understanding of Chinese medicine. I have a general overview of what this means, but not enough to understand it completely. What does this passage about the 5 Phases in Chinese medicine mean? What are the actions to correct this imbalance? Much thanks.
