Marblehead Posted September 5, 2009 Hi Ontherightpath,  All I will offer is that if you ask a question concerning Philosophical Taoism I will try to address you question.  Reading the Tao Te Ching and Chuang Tzu are important. From there you can expand in whatever direction you are called to.  As I always suggest, read two or three different translations of the Tao Te Ching then read the Chuang Tzu. These can be found here: http://terebess.hu/english/lexikon/c.html  Then go back and re-read the copy of the Tao Te Ching that 'felt' best to you.  Happy Trails! Mal Posted September 5, 2009 Where do i Start. <snip> I have read several books on toaism, and need to practice this in my life.  The Tao is unimaginably vast so getting started is always tricky as there are so much available.  What do you like? Meditation, moving like Tai Chi or Qi Gongs, Standing like a post or Siting?  Perhaps you like reading  When the shoe fits, the foot is forgotten. When the belt fits, the belly is forgotten. When the heart is right, "for" and "against" are forgotten.  No drives, no compulsions, no needs, no attractions: Then your affairs are under control. You are a free man. (19:12, pp. 166-167)  I took that one from Marbelhead's link, its Chuang Tzu more here http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=4503  {slightly} more instructional Hua Hu Ching  You will get a lot of different replies, there are some many interesting paths. Don't rush, enjoy the journey and have fun traveling
