There is a fantastic opportunity to get a shot of Venus and Jupiter together in the sky so close that the moon Callisto will be further away from Jupiter than Venus will be. They will be about a third of the width of the moon apart from each other.

This will happen this Saturday, 3:30 pm Arizona Standard time (6:30pm EDT). Anyone with a 200mm or better lens or even a small telescope or binoculars will be able to view it, even in broad daylight if you have a little patience to find the pair in the daylight sky.

From Phoenix, look directly Southwest at this time, 50 degrees (a bit more than 1/2 way up in the sky) to find them. Get your cameras ready and grab this once-every-few-decades-they-get-this-close photo!

I am currently watching a series on deserted places in India.

Some total ruins and others in good enough condition to live in.
