NeiChuan Posted December 14, 2009 I've been doing horse stance for alittle bit.. I can hold it for around 5 minutes or so.. I hold it reasonably wide with my toes pretty lined up with my knees.. But.. Whenever I get outta've any leg exercise/posture if I tense my shin/knee at all.. I can hear a pretty gross pop.. Also when I move my shin up and down (I know not to fully extend). Anybody with advise on this matter?
Old Man Contradiction Posted December 14, 2009 What do you mean your toes are lined up with your knees? Are your feet at 45 degree angles, or are they pointing straight ahead? It also sounds like you could stretch your lower back, which is connected to your knees. If I run a lot of stairs and my lower back is tense and sore for a few days, my knees will be popping a lot the whole time.
NeiChuan Posted December 14, 2009 I've been stretching my lower back.. Infact thats the only reason I can make my back straight line, although I worry about my knees. I meant I dont keep my toes facing straight ahead, its more alittle outward gripping.
lino Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) have you looked on a search engine for assistant exercises and stretches for the horse stance? On edit: Try working your hamstrings and butt. They are supposed to take the load of the quadriceps and knees. Edited December 14, 2009 by lino
NeiChuan Posted December 14, 2009 Hm I just went back to my old wide stance and its pretty much fine.. But I still get the popping once im done with it. I was thinking perhaps in the future a good horse stance will help this. (Also your right about the hamstring/butt thing) lol =D
