Guys I need quality advice, my computer almost received a virus,one of those quick scan your computer now! I didn't but something got onboard, now I can't load windows and set up.It kept saying memory cannot be read-windows logon error32.I got through once and [programs loaded] tried too install standard operating pack for windows-x.p. but couldn't.I loaded malware bytes/avast/spyware-doctor and hoped all would be well,not so! Now I can't get back on[it won't load programs] I'm using a netbook to write this.I still have the recovery disc but I have priceless data on my hard drive and I Don't want to lose it. Stuff on systema,pimsuelers learn chinese system, qi-gung programs, ecetera.So aside from taking it to a store,any solutions? Anyway of booting it...I know some bums fix computers. So I'm drawing on the strength of the collective-any advice?

After you get what you need, it might be wise to blow away the old installation totally because:

 

1. it is going to take too many hours to repair

 

2. you don't know if the "old" virus installed something that is "new" or not covered under present virus definitions

I just battled this monster - TR/ Crypt.Zpack.Gen trojan - I was about to go insane! It just wouldn't go away.

 

For two weeks it just got worse and worse. It would take about an hour just to get online and everything was all messed up.

 

Anyway, some guy on the Avira Antivir forum suggested something and it worked! My computer is humming like new now.

Maybe but I just got the netbook-seems primitive...but maybe.If I got the computer to start once then I should be able to access it somehow again! Then I would concentrate on loading standard packs for xp, something is being blocked since it starts over and over again before getting to windows is now starting up.

When you have your system fixed, download Avast anti-virus. It is free and the best!

Have you looked in "My Computer" to see if you have space for the netbook?

 

online storage may take too long

 

Press & hold F8 on boot up

 

You should see a menu

 

go to safe mode

 

it may take a while to boot windows from there so be patient

A tight Windows box (like mine) is almost as safe as a Linux box.

 

 

I advice you to install Linux and Windows in the same box in separate partitions. Linux is the safest method to surf the Net.

Might want to find an USB external enclosure so that you could put the hard drive of the problem computer INTO the USB external enclosure.

 

Attach the external enclosure to your netbook and see if you can use scandisk on it.

I am not going to look deeper into anything. I have generously provided advice that is not easily available unless you are a sys admin or computer security expert. Most infections occur from accessing those sites and clicking on unsafe e-mail attachments.

 

Educate yourself a bit more instead of assuming anything.

Yes it should! Anyway thanks for the expert advice,I watch sanctuary, stargate universe, old highlander the series episodes on ov-guide since I don't have cable.They are always advertising something or sending something into a minor window.As far as porn goes...I went from late last may to late August without emitting the vital essence-jing.

You can download linux mint www.linuxmint.com and make a bootable cd, then use that to recover your data to a usb flash drive or an external hard drive. Then format the main computer after all data is backed up and reinstall your os, when you get it running again avira free edition is the best free virus scan.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the bums, I got the problem resolved by following my intuition.Pulled a Mr.Spock-human[not logic based] like move and utilized system[willing to embrace the loss] restore without the disc and everything backed up without loss.Thought I lacked the space since I'd hit system restore a year ago and that consumed a lot of space.Now my computer is running like a new born baby...or reincarnated baby! Speaking of which, it's reinvigorated me to practice even more intensely all the stuff on my hard drive...because when it's gone[like life] it's gone.Which also reminds me of David Tennant's final bow as Doctor Who in the end of time christmas special-time for a belated christmas present!
