People are still falling for the magic tricks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcMNy0icaUA The whole of China is changing so rapidly that internal wisdom will be hard to find as people will be even more deluded than before. Mt Wudang is no exception, which hosts numerous commercial schools promoting themselves as the birthplace of Taoism and internal martial arts. They are all fake and no real internal development. There are some genuine hermits in Wudang though who are the real deal, but can only be found following yuanfen, which is followed strictly by Chinese anchorites, and definitively miles away from these fake schools and their masters: Careful with the bells and whistles. Edited: typo. I was thinking of making a post to ask if someone ever tried going to shaolin or wudang for 3-12 months and I saw that their curriculum includes hard qigong and weapons training. I remember some one on youtube making a complete diary of his shaolin training. If you say that they are both bad and fake then maybe I'll check MMA training. The cheaper option is just to do yoga and other stuff from books and videos. Any recommendations welcome. -DE

Otherwise do the small universe -- microcosmic orbit training -- "Level One sitting meditation" c.d. is the best tool for it -- use the book "Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality" charles luk for advanced insights and Mantak Chia's first book "Awaken Healing Energy of the Tao" -- free scribd for beginning training. Then move into full lotus as it can not be "hallucinated."

Spirit Ape Posted March 7, 2010 Ive been and demo'd at shaolin temple 3-4 times since 1992, I also drank and sang with the monks in Kareoki! I was making a book and video documentry on my arts that come from shaolin, its a beautiful place and the weapons are cheap. I stayed over night at shaolin guan next door to shaolin! Not many true monks left some dont want anything to do with westerners anyway! The kung fu is mostly wushu which isnt a traditional system its all government run, what forms etc!
