JazZen Posted April 16, 2010 "The wise one hears of the Tao and practices it diligently. The average student hears of the Tao and gives it thought every now and then. The foolish student hears of the Tao and laughs aloud. If there were no laughter the Tao would not be what it is. Hence it is said: The bright path seems dim. Going forward seems like retreat; The easy way seems hard: The highest Virtue seems empty; Great purity seems sullied; A wealth of Virtue seems inadequate; The strength of Virtue seems frail: Real Virtue seems unreal; The perfect square has no corners: Great talents ripen late; The highest notes are hard to hear: The greatest form has no shape: The Tao is hidden and without name. The Tao alone nourishes and brings everything to fulfillment." TAO TE CHEN
Marblehead Posted April 16, 2010 Yep. That is why, although I oftentimes speak as if I am fully secure with what I know, I every now and then will state that I do not know or that I know nothing. Tao is unknowable. The Way of Tao can be observed in nature. The power of Tao can be partially obtained through understanding the Way of Tao and applying the Way (the processes) in our life as much as possible. Peace & Love! 三江源 Posted April 16, 2010 If there were no laughter the Tao would not be what it is. and the wonderful thing is, it is a laughter not dependant on any knowledge or particular cast of mind, just heart, is all.. here's a dance, to celebrate, something for the weekend... ( as usual my embedding attempts fail, pardon me. )
Marblehead Posted April 16, 2010 Yeah. We all need to learn to dance. (I'm not sure I would do it their way though. Hehehe.) Peace & Love!
Everything Posted April 16, 2010 (edited) Lol that looks like something you would watch after smoking weed. Weird video. What is the Tao anyway? Edited April 16, 2010 by Everything
Marblehead Posted April 16, 2010 What is the Tao anyway? Tao is the universe, its beginning and its end, its creation and its destruction, and its Way. Beyond that I know nothing specific. Peace & Love!
TzuJanLi Posted April 16, 2010 Greetings.. What is the Tao anyway? It cannot be defined any better than the question you just asked.. Don't look for definitions, just 'look'.. Be well..
