thelerner Posted May 6, 2010 Ah, Spring, where a young man's interest turns to baseball, girls and what!? I'm no expert (Trunk here has the most input & info on the question) but you seem to be pretty normal to me. I'd drop the obsession w/ retention. Some discipline is good, but at 16 don't be so worried. If there one thing the Tao teaches its that things run in cycles, hot and cold, energetic and lethargic. Westerners tend to think one is better then the other; the more energy the better, it's not always so. My advice: let it be, don't be overly strict with yourself. Go for a walk its a beautiful day. 宁 Posted May 6, 2010 Michael, somehow yesterday's 16 year olds are not nowadays 16 year olds they don't make them how they used to hehe they have to work hard to achieve the same level you had at the same age (without doing anything) it's called de-generation, and it's the current plague of humanity every son is half his father's strength, and a quarter of his grandfather's same goes for girls Stais, at your age you have three open directions to work with if you combine them, you have even more than three - education - directing your attention towards school and intelectual performance will naturally TRANSFER your energy to the higher centers - arts - expressing yourself thru art: music, dance, painting, poetry, literature ETC! it's another way of EXPRESSING your sexual energy in a REFINED way - sport performance - even martial arts - are a great way to refine your sexual impulses i know it doesn't sound fancy, it's still true good luck L1

What is this garbage? If anything, since consciousness and spirit only EVOLVE and do not DEVOLVE or "DE-GENERATE", you're stating the opposite of the truth. What a ridiculous claim. btw OP, if you read this preposterous statement "- education - directing your attention towards school and intelectual performance will naturally TRANSFER your energy to the higher centers" I wouldn't heed such advice so quickly if I were you; that is total horse pucky and completely baseless; directing your attention towards school and intellectual performance will NOT naturally transfer your energy to the higher centers....oh wow some of the stuff on this forum... and OP, if you are masturbating as a means of masking or trying to get rid of feelings or emotions, then that is when you definitely need to regulate yourself; otherwise, being 16, take it easy bro. Though I do think its fantasy, like a lot of stuff i read , I would say the change in lifestyle and nutrition is to blame for weaker youth. But if a young person wants to get strong and puts in the exercise they can be just as strong as their father and gramps were. Proof of this? broken world records as younger generations turn out better athletes than their predecessors. how did you get to this conclusion where its just happening that todays youth have to train to be as strong as yesterdays if they did nothing at all? Iyoiyo Posted May 7, 2010 It's not usually appropriate to say that something just plain wrong, but every once in a blue moon we get something like this: Michael, somehow yesterday's 16 year olds are not nowadays 16 year olds they don't make them how they used to hehe they have to work hard to achieve the same level you had at the same age (without doing anything) it's called de-generation, and it's the current plague of humanity every son is half his father's strength, and a quarter of his grandfather's same goes for girls L1 It makes absolutely no sense, and is not true. hagar Posted May 7, 2010 Hi, I know I already started a topic about this a few weeks before but now I have different questions. First off, my story in a few sentences: I'm 16 years old and two years ago I started masturbating (and ejaculating) every second day. My "normal cycle" was masturbating about twice a week. A year later I got some big problems. My motivation for doing anything was completely gone. I didn't do anything the whole day and in the end there was a big pain in this mental state that made me want to die because I didn't know what to live for anymore. Then I found out that ejaculations could harm the body because they make him lose energy. So I reduced masturbating to about once a week or two weeks. It varied, because there was no real libido anymore (there also was no desire for anything anymore), I only did it when watching porn for a long time. I completely stopped masturbating then because I felt that it took me too much energy (I felt it for a week when I had masturbated). After a while the energy for life came back and the ability to be more enthousiastic. But it's still not like before and I don't feel desires like earlier, yet. Though by not masturbating I have so much energy now that sometimes when not knowing what to do I get restless. I can't just do nothing and lie on the couch anymore. The time I needed for "retiring" from my last wanted ejaculation was something about 3 days. I can see every couple of weeks that something happened (e.g. improvement of certain body functions or feelings that I can feel again which get stronger) and I get more and more back from my earlier "energy". I faced some problems (obsession about saving energy) which might not be important for my questions and I already talked about them, so I'll leave them out here. My plan is to "save energy" for the next months and just wait until everything is like a few years ago. Why I'm posting this here is because I want to know if someone here had the same problem and for reading your opinion about what I do and how much it might help me. Maybe you have some tips for me or you know how I can avoid big problems. Might be that someone knwos what I'm doing and can explain it to me, there might be better and faster ways to get energy back. I think I should post this because if I just wait until my energy comes back I might lose a lot of time. If there are other ways to get what I want I think it would be better to know them, too. PS: I think you should also know about my libido at the moment. I'm not "forcing" myself not to masturbate, my feeling tells me I shouldn't do it. (This might also have something to do that I got a bit afraid of masturbating (I know, I shouldn't be).) My desire for sex has changed compared to last year, when I had no energy anymore. I'm getting horny easier than before and if I watch porn my libido raises for some days. My libido also raises a little when I want to think more about sex. But even then I hardly ever feel that something has to be "released". I only felt it a few days before what was a progress for me again because I didn't have this feeling for a very long time. Though I only felt it for a very short time and it was not a strong feeling like having "big balls". When not consciously wanting to think about sex I seldom become horny. So libido is changeable at the moment for me. I don't know if this would change if I start masturbating again. But this is impossible for me at the moment because I'd feel it for some days if I did. Anyway I think I wouldn't even masturbate at all if my libido was stronger. Better would be to use this energy for girls. Hope you will answer. Thanks even for reading and listening to my problems . Stais Forget completely about sexual practices until you are mature and have life experience. Fortunately for us energy cannot be saved or hoarded. Life is short, youth is precious. Live out your youth as if there are no worries in the world. Be merry, use your body and enjoy life. You will never get time back. h
3L3VAT3 Posted May 7, 2010 maybe stop just jerking off so much and deposit your sperm into and actual FEMALE (if that's your preference)... it will be much more gratifying than just punching the munchkin... i mean you know yourself best, are you wacking compulsively? if so then cool it, but otherwise you should have pleny of jing to spare at 16... i mean look at your life as a whole... is this a REALLY big issue for you? It can be easy to get carried away with this stuff... so make sure you get out and hang out with some chicks or something.... OH yea, major props for getting into chi/cultivation stuff at such a young age, you'll be ahead of the curve Mane! GOOD TIMES!!

If this was an attempted metaphor and physical strength was not actually in question then it would have been wiser to make that more obvious. For whats its worth. Humor received and appreciated on this end Not every post is a deep philosophical thought. Sometimes we prattle on to lighten things up and its simply funny. Michael Stais, the penis works in mysterious ways, often without rhyme or reason. The sex drive too. There are mental and physical things that effect it, but if you're generally healthy, have faith. You're just on the low end of a wheel, and that wheels always turning.

About the dumbest thing I ever heard. Stais, what I would do if I was you would be to start rebuilding my health with qigong and meditation. If sexual activity weakens you that much there must a weakness somewhere that you will have to work to compensate for. You can for example start by bying Bruce Frantzis` Longevity Breathing CD-rom. This will give relaxation and build energy. You can add to that something very simple like Zhan Zhuang which is very good for building energy is safe and can be learned easily. Springforest qigong is also very good for basic health and healing and is safe and always gets good reviews. The inner smile is also something you can look into. You should also see a TCM doctor and see if acupuncture and herbs might help and to get an acurate diagnosis of which organs are weak. If you start with the other stuff I can explain to you a very simple and quick exercise that builds up the kidney chi a lot. THe kidneys are responsible for sexual energy so it is your likely weak spot. But you need to start the other stuff first because working only on one aspect and not the whole will make you imbalanced. Write me a PM when you have started something and I will explain it to you. You could also consider contacting springofrest qigong for some long distance healing sessions. Ideally you should find a teacher. I came across a forum about post ejaculation fatigue syndrom or something one time. Look arround and you might find it. THey could possible have good tips. THe page reunited.info also have itnersting info for you. A practice with non ejaculatory orgasms and long term sperm rention will easily cause you problems if you do not have a regular practice of meditation and qigong or yoga. Either through damaging yourself trying to stop ejaculation too forcefully or getting unbalanced by the build up of a certain energy that is not transformed through spiritual practice. Both of these have happened to many on this forum. Also because of your young age you might more easily get in trouble with this. But if you do get an actual practice of meditation and qigong then after some time you can probably start having orgasms without ejaculation and going a week maybe two without coming. Especially if you are having sex with a girl and not only yourself. Ejaculation during partner sex is less draining.
NeiChuan Posted May 8, 2010 I've heard moxibustion is one of the only ways to bring original jing back. Moxibustion on the LDT point ofcourse. Plus if its problems like premature ejactulation or something.. those are solvable without. try some other things first.. I've heard Goji berries work great for that. 宁 Posted May 8, 2010 (edited) THis is utter bullshit. About the dumbest thing I ever heard. Answering to all of those that i upset with my previous post: - I'm sorry, it's called first phase, denial. Wishful thinking will get us nowhere... - If you want some facts, go and speak with physicians, with doctors. For example, I see it myself, as I work in a pharmacy. Many old men seem to have alot more vitality that many young men. It's a sad thing to see. And it gets worse, as time goes by. - Many young men resort to Viagra and other pills to get a decent erection. In young men today you can see alot of meat, and a tiny spark of energy... You want numbers? Age? Look up the internet. Check up the high rate in onchological (cancer) type diseases. It's just the tip of the iceberg. Still,I have no intention to prove anything, just know some facts, from what I see everyday, that's all... - I remember my uncles, aunts, as I was little... they had a physical consistency that I don't see it today anymore. The food is much less nutricious now, we move our bodies alot less, the electomagnetic smog is at an unprecedented rate. Do you really believe these go without consequences to our biology? The most sensitive part of our biology is our fertility... There are many factors that need be respected if you still want to keep this healthy. It's not just erections. It's also the consistency of the sperm, and these have a direct influence on your mental health, your emotional health, your social health, and your sense of well being. So no, i don't think talking about it is overrated. I'm not interested in opinions either... Facts, they save time. And, Guy, anybody ever tell you what happens to athletes after their career is over? Just met a handball national player yesterday at the hospital: she was replacing her knee with a metal one. Oh she had no problems whatsoever when she played... But with age, the abuses tend to come out. Don't get me started on martial artists, the story is even more sad... What world are you living in? And, I don't care if I sound harsh, I have nothing against you, I don't know you. I admit I have a really big personal problem: little tolerance for stupidity... L1 @Michael, so i was only half-joking. ...Emphasizing now, as a reaction to the reaction Edited May 8, 2010 by Little1
That Guy Posted May 8, 2010 You work in a place where sick people go, what do you expect to see other than weak sick people? And you have a world of athletes, of course you'll get some that break down. How about you look at the total numbers instead of the sick you see because you hang out in a place where all the sick go... I think you have misdiagnosed your problem. And thank you for taking the lifestyle and nutrition points I made and completely ignoring that I made them only to repeat them yourself and the throw out insults
宁 Posted May 8, 2010 (edited) Guy, you took it on a too personal note. Like i said, i don't know any of you, i have nothing against you. FYI,at least in my country, nowadays pharmacies are not places where sick people go. It's very trendy to go there for young people, because there are alot of cosmetic products and various others, that don't necessarely belong to the industry. It's turning more and more into a money-making cynical business - this is upsetting to me. So take it as an outburst, it's not adressed to someone in particular... but to a line of thinking that i'm tired of seen repeating... AND - i didn't ignore your statements, i considered them way too vague... BTW, when did i say it was my problem eh? Regarding athletes, i'll be happy to listen to your version of the truth... thelerner Posted May 8, 2010 Quote the penis works in mysterious ways, often without rhyme or reason I like this one. Do you mean the sex drive is potentially still there but "hidden" somewhere? Yup, course if I knew it wouldn't be mysterious. It surges and wanes, often its a relief when its down (less distractions), though you don't want that to be a permanent affair. Time is the greater healer. Worry accomplishes little. Too often we try to fix things when the disease is the cure, telling us to slow down, get some yin. I have nothing against you either, just your statement, it was silly thats all. "they have to work hard to achieve the same level you had at the same age (without doing anything)" <<<<- Read that line again Regarding athletes, they're obviously stronger than before, you can tell by performance, if you want speculation on how long they'll last ask a psychic, we have a couple around probably. But even these injuries like your example, at the hospital (where its not a trendy place), it doesn't mean the athlete is weaker because they simply push themselves a lot harder than before. Older athletes didn't have to push as hard and had lower standard competition to beat. These days you can get great pay as a pro in certain sports but you have to push so much harder because competition is so fierce.

Perhaps English is your second language. In that case I would be able to overlook quite a lot. Simply because you work in a pharmacy, see people, and have opinions, does not make you an authority on anything: think things through a bit before you start giving out advice.
