time to change Posted August 14, 2010 can someone tell me the benefits of fasting in a spiritual level
Astral_Anima Posted August 14, 2010 If you believe in karma, it pays off karma. If you know the physical benefits, and mental benefits, it makes you more able to help others If combined with prayer/meditation it raises your vibration RAPIDLY It relaxes you body making it easier to meditate and enter altered states of consciousness. You're more likely to have OBE's and "visions" And if you combining it with third eye meditations, and or sungazing you may be able to make it last quite a bit longer than 30-40 days

voidisyinyang Posted August 15, 2010 does being liquidarian count as fasting  Fasting in qigong is actually called "Energy feasting" -- it's very different than normal fasting.  This fasting as energy feasting is detailed in the book "Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality" (available online)....  So you do the "small universe" meditation -- and then as the chi develops then the "prenatal chi" is activated which is the kundalini energy -- and so your lower tan tien gets really hot. The lower tan tien then fills with electromagnetic chi energy and you are not hungry.  So if you're not hungry and full of energy -- then you don't eat. This means you continue to convert your jing electrochemical energy into chi energy and then the chi energy is converted into shen energy -- it's a harmonization process.  As this progresses then the "immortal breathing" kicks in which is the "macrocosmic orbit" as a full kundalini awakening -- so the chi energy fills the body and the center of your hands and feet pulsate or breath with electromagnetic energy.  The chi electromagnetic energy also breathes through the top of the skull which pulsates -- and so what happens is that there is an electrolysis which creates water in the third eye -- the electromagnetic energy converts the hydrogen and oxygen of the jing energy into water. The water then flows down from the third eye.  So that's why the qigong masters can also go without water. I reached this stage -- it's called "achievement of cessation" in Theravada Buddhism -- and it enables you to get to the "Emptiness" in Taoism -- called the Dharmakaya in Buddhism.  So there's a rapid conversion of the prenatal chi into the spirit shen energy which creates a spacetime vortex for a holographic astral travel experience -- so that you realize that you're neither your body nor your mind -- and you see your "Original Face" as an enlightenment experience.  At that point you have to store the shen and chi energy in the lower tan tien -- you have to seek a pure environment for further training -- under the guidance of an energy master. The main guidance is to focus on the source of the emptiness -- if you rely on any kind of attachment to form at this stage it can create energy blockages. If there's astral travel too soon then it creates dizziness from the spacetime vortex.  So more advanced levels of bigu or energy feasting is dangerous -- but also relies on converting your jing into chi energy. Western science has postulated that the gamma ray energy which has been documented in qigong masters is the key to how there's an alchemical fusion of neutrons and protons so that any nutrition needed can be created for digestion.  I went 8 days on just half a glass of water but then after that I just ate whatever food since it was like coming back from the dead. haha. King Kabalabhati Posted August 15, 2010 Regarding regular straight water fasting I have studied in Ayurvedic books that it is not good for people with a frail or light constitution or a hot temper and digestion (Vata or Pitta types) to fast for more than 3-4 days. Weakness and illness may occur since fasting increases both Vata (air, movement, ether) and Pitta (fire, assimilation). For people with good health and robust structure (Kapha) even 7 or more days of fasting may be ok.
