TheWhiteRabbit Posted August 17, 2010 Have you notied how difficult it is for some people to answer very closed questions? Lets say if you ask them what they were doing when they were also doing something else that they were not doing? The potential for leading questions seem to serve to not only cloud an issue for oneself and others but can be seen as a preconcieved notion. Something I have known for some time. Â With the exception of circumstances where one is pressed for time, this seems to work better in dealing with people and not make them feel interrogated. Also tends to be more in harmony with TTC 58. Â It seems like people are readily able to talk about things when we dont try to ask precise questions.
Astral_Anima Posted August 17, 2010 Probably because with concise questions you get concise answers. If someone asks you a broad question you usually need to spend time widdling it down to a more concise one so you can answer. This is especially true when people think it's cool to answer questions in riddles or ask questions that sound cool but that the "asker" doesn't really understand. Thats just a waste of time imo. If people spend as much time practicing as they did talking then we'd all be great sages (this goes for me as well)
