sean Posted May 8, 2006 Did you pay for the full results? I found it worth it. The Kolbe index is a little more esoteric and I think it costs $50 for any results. It has less to do with the content of your career interests, ie: science, art, etc. and more to do with what your job is like in those fields ... like, how you prefer working, to deadlines, or on your own ... do you like to make decisions, or be told what to do, etc. Here are my results from the first one: Health Service - 96 Writing - 95 Art - 91 Outdoors - 89 Science - 82 Where does this strange combination leave me? Cameron Posted May 8, 2006 I can see you as an art director or even cutting edge film director(if you wanted) I know your not in love with this country but you could probably express those views and artisitic sensibilities. I think Americans are pretty open to change or different options(even paying top dollar for them, LOL). And I've done performance art and studied social sciences. Law enforcement is about right up there with funeral services but I can see social services or education in there... Yeah, absolutely. I can picture you running something like an integral trauma center, where you can lecture to the public, help people one on one therapeutically and also train self defense skills ... all of this would obviously include a lot of writing as well, ie: preparing training materials, even writing books, etc. I can see you as an art director or even cutting edge film director(if you wanted) I know your not in love with this country but you could probably express those views and artisitic sensibilities. You know, this is really my deepest dream I think. Like one of those, if you could snap your fingers and be whatever you want kind of things ... I think I'd be a cutting edge film director. Cam, for you, I see you getting into socially conscious business, investing and philanthropy. And by socially conscious I don't even mean necessarily in an obvious way ... like "organic produce" or something. I mean just remaining conscious of how your business ventures fit in with your highest values and what you are trying to bring into the world with your business skills. I mean, now you are bringing art into the world. That is an amazing thing. And just staying connected with principles like that. I like what Tami Simon of Sounds True says about how money can't be the object, but it can't be ignored. It's the oxygen of a company, it's how it breathes and lives so that it can fulfill it's purpose of (hopefully) bringing particular values into the world. Also, have you ever though about Architecture? Here in Scottsdale there is a super contemporary style. Some houses for millions carved out of the side of a mountain. Sedona is also a kind of mecca for artisst and architects. I could see you get into that easily if you wanted. Hell you could probably design crazy lofts for movie stars. It was one of those paths that I decidedly didn't take. I live 15 minutes away from Oak Park, Illinois, the mecca of Wrightism. My daughter was born in Oak Park. So many coincidences in life. This was my score for the workplace fit profile section: Artistic (Creators) - 96 Investigative (Thinkers) - 94 Social (Helpers) - 91 Realistic (Doers) - 70 Attentive (Servers) - 66 Enterprising (Persuaders) - 4 Conventional (Organizers) - 2 I can see Journalism being down because I think it's not helpful enough ... you have to stay too objective, whereas I feel like your calling is more hands on ... I'm sure it will involve writing, but not just to report on what is happening. PS, there is a free Myers-Briggs test here, under Jung Tests. Turns out I knew a Kolbe consultant and he went over my results with me in detail last week! Prompted me to get Lezlie to take the test and we both bought the CD's that give an overview of our types. Clarified a lot! How and why I prefer working the way that I do, useful insights into the differences in Lezlie and I's style of approaching a problem and more.
