Nungali Posted November 16, 2017 (edited) New neighbours 'tod ' (just started walking but not talking ) on seeing an old fashioned sausage dog boot scrapper that someone recently left end of the ramp up to the verandah.... from a distance, looks like the other rocks, lying around the edge of the garden . I pointed at it and told her ' Look .... dog ! " She looked over and ..... mhe .... rocks . So I ' No ... look ....dog !and pointed again. She staggered over and looked, then the shape clicked and registered and she throws her head back ..... ; " Gluurg- ark ! " and laughs . I'm not sure what gluug-ark means ? Dog ... or 'oh yeah ' or " Oh, look at that ! " Gave her a good 10 minute laugh ... then of course she had to take everyone else there to show them . Her first comprehension of the concept of a statue ? ... which reminds me .... What did the first Maori say when they showed him a statue of his brother ? Spoiler " 'S t'at you Bro ?
