ThisLife Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Yeah, cats are pretty "wu wei". Oddly enough, I'm sitting here trying to type this around one of our aging cats who often hops up on my lap to enjoy a bit of human company when we're not dashing around all over the place engaged in one nonsensical activity after another. He likes computers, (for this reason only: They keep humans stationary ! ) Anyway, he mentally sent me a message to let you know that your post reminded him of that ever-familiar- but-oft-neglected Zen adage : * "Before I had studied Zen for thirty years, I saw mountains as mountains, and waters as waters. When I arrived at a more intimate knowledge, I came to the point where I saw that mountains are not mountains, and waters are not waters. But now that I have got its very substance I am at rest. For it's just that I see mountains once again as mountains, and waters once again as waters." * {I think what our wise moggy is struggling to put into human words is that he's a cat, not a 'wu wei'} * Edited March 3, 2014 by ThisLife

Captain Mar-Vell Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) ... Marblehead Posted April 21, 2014 "I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will." ― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre That is similar to responses I present whenever one of my Buddhist friends tells me that I must be liberated. To your edit add: Likely you have had software from the internet downloaded to your computer that is causing conflicts with other software. It might be a good idea to run a cleaner and anti-virus program on your computer to clean/remove conflicts.

GrandmasterP Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) But is all this true?" said Brutha. Didactylos shrugged. "Could be. Could be. We are here and it is now. The way I see it is, after that, everything tends towards guesswork." "You mean you don't KNOW it's true?" said Brutha. "I THINK it might be," said Didactylos. "I could be wrong. Not being certain is what being a philosopher is all about. (Terry Pratchett, Small Gods). Edited April 21, 2014 by GrandmasterP
ThisLife Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) * "Well, what I like best….", and then he had to stop and think,… because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were. But he didn’t know what it was called. From 'The Tao of Pooh' * Edited April 21, 2014 by ThisLife
ThisLife Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) Anticipation. Well done ! 'Anticipation' is precisely the word. However, you must remember the context. Doing so you'll doubtless recall that Pooh was sadly a bear of very little brain. It's that the makes the tragic/magic mix that has endeared Pooh Bear to countless people since it was written ninety years ago. ThisLife Posted April 21, 2014 Well, still and all, regarding Pooh's little brain, I have seen much more common sense from him than I have from many humans. He certainly is more honest and lovable than 90% of the politicians one sees every day on TV.
ThisLife Posted April 22, 2014 * A thoughtful Scottish Husband was putting his coat and hat on to make his way down to the local pub for a wee dram. He turned to his bonnie wife before leaving and said, “Maggie, put your hat and coat on, lassie.” She replied, “Aww, Jock, that's nice. Are ye taking me tae the pub wi’ you?” “Nay,” Jock replied. “I'm turning the heat off while I'm out.” * 3
