Samuel Posted April 30, 2011 When I meditate (Half lotus, I can't manage the full yet), my right leg always falls asleep, usually from the knee down. I'd like to know if anyone has any suggestions or tips to stop this happening, it's pretty unpleasant waking back up and I'm sure it's not all that healthy. Would full lotus be likely to stop it? Anyone else get this sort of thing? Much love folks Samuel
Apech Posted May 1, 2011 Sounds a bit like you may need to work on hip flexibility. The mistake with half and full lotus is to twist the knee joint instead of the hip to get into posture. This book is good: becoming the lotus
sean Posted May 1, 2011 i believe trauma releasing exercises to release the psoas helped me with this exact issue in longer sits. btw, i sit burmese now for anything over 45 minutes, great, solid sitting form from master meditators. sean
