Otis Posted July 4, 2011 (edited) Dear all, For those of you interested in consciousness, and how it relates to the human brain, there's a great BBC radio documentary, that helps illustrate the connection between the two. http://www.thechangingworld.org/ Right now, the 2-part series is featured on the home page. You can download the shows as MP3s, and listen, whenever. Enjoy! Edited July 5, 2011 by Otis

Everything Posted July 5, 2011 Cool thanks. Let me add a documentary. Youtube: Athene's theory of everything Neurology and physics Both, very deep, very interesting. I'm going to listen to radiolab podcast about memory. Memory fascinates me. I love video recorders to capture artificial memory with greatest detail and accuracy possible. Too bad my brain can't do that. When I look at my memory I cannot even recall anything useful from yesterday. While a computer would only take up max 2 terrabyte of space to record your entire life for few dollah. That awesome for self reflection. We can't change our behaviour if we don't notice it if we don't remember it if we don't have good memories etc.

Harmonious Emptiness Posted July 6, 2011 While we're at it, I'll add this BBC documentary about how modern psychology shapes and manipulates our world and cultures. Very interesting analysis of social manipulation. Century of the Self (part 1 of 4)
Otis Posted July 6, 2011 While we're at it, I'll add this BBC documentary about how modern psychology shapes and manipulates our world and cultures. Very interesting analysis of social manipulation. Century of the Self (part 1 of 4) Excellent share, thanks! I just watched the "Happiness Machines" (1st hour) of the documentary, which was great. Note to others: part 6 has no audio (silenced by youtube for supposed copyright infringement), but there are other versions on youtube. The same documentarian (Adam Curtis) also directed "The Power of Nightmares", about the rise of the Islamist movement, and the way that western politicians have exploited that rise. I highly recommend it.
