Do you think it's something he rigged up for her so her small black shoulder bag didn't get caught in the treads? Or maybe she's carrying a Blackberry. Either way, it was a damn nice thing for him to do. To live in Ohio is to often get stuck behind one of those p-p-p-p-plowers.
