doc benway Posted October 25, 2011 I really enjoyed the film. I put off watching it for a long time because I thought it would be slow and boring. I found it to be compelling and beautiful.

Yes it was beautiful and perhaps that was what it was all about?
suninmyeyes Posted October 25, 2011 (edited) I have posted a link of the same film in a book forum some time ago. Love this film and Ki duk Kims films in general (than again I like a lot of arthouse ,independent films) . I understand it to be a meditation on life ,time, impermanency/change and stillness, taking responsabilty for own actions and life. Definetly not just beutiful. Unless my version of beuty is much different. The only thing is mistreating of the animals in the film that I might have slight problem with.. deci belle Posted October 26, 2011 The only thing is mistreating of the animals in the film that I might have slight problem with. Motion picture production itself is often an incredibly cruel and unusual affair for everyone involved. It is a heartening experience to know when an end result is actually ever worth the means employed to produce it. The ratio of truly successful films is horrendous considering how many have been shot in just my lifetime.
