RiverSnake Posted January 7, 2012 Found his books by chance online. He seems to have done some really interesting books. Anyone ever read his works.I am particularly interested in this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0972190716/ref=s9_wishf_gw_g14_t?ie=UTF8&coliid=I3W1TS8W4DIDJ1&colid=F4FM1WKQ7RZ7&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=right-3&pf_rd_r=1AFD6NMSYFQRNYK6F0YY&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=481918071&pf_rd_i=507846
Franklin Posted January 7, 2012 I don't know him personally but I have read some of his works I like the ones that I have read. Lot of good information- that I can relate to things that I have experienced through practice. The Hercules book was very good- I wish I would have had clear explanations like that when I was experiencing different things that he describes in the book. I would recommend it along with "Tao and Longevity" (it also describes the physical things that happen through cultivation) You can also check out Mr. Bodri's website for a ton of free articles www.meditationexpert.com Franklin
Enishi Posted January 7, 2012 (edited) I like some of Bodri's books but at times it seems to me that a fair portion of the hundreds of pages he writes could basically be summed up with one sentence: "Stillness meditation is good for you, do it more!" Haven't read his books. But it appears Bodri is not just about stillness... it is more about realizing the One Mind - http://www.meditationexpert.com/zen-buddhism-tao/z_what_is_seeing_the_Tao.html Edited January 7, 2012 by xabir2005
Aetherous Posted January 7, 2012 That book does look pretty cool. I've read his other stuff quite a bit, and he speaks authoritatively, but I get the impression that (at least for me and my path personally) I should take it all with a huuuuuuuge grain of salt.
