Thunder_Gooch Posted April 1, 2012 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1470174545 I will try to review it when I have time to read it. I have a huge backlog of reading material working so much, but this will take priority. Keep your fingers crossed that it is a real text with instruction, not some philosophical discourse as is so much out there today

I have a huge backlog of reading material working so much, but this will take priority. Keep your fingers crossed that it is a real text with instruction, not some philosophical discourse as is so much out there today I asked a guy, who is a student of WLP, about that book... He has Chinese version. It is WLP teaching..., as guide for the students. It is not full explanation of the technology... Jox,
mantis Posted April 1, 2012 According to Amazon mine is arriving on Wednesday, I too hope we can get something out of the manual instead of it just being a sequel to Opening the Dragon Gate so to speak.

I don't teach, I just recommend other teachers and books to people. I can't say anything better than they can, I am just a student and I am not even level 1 yet. I just run the forum because they wouldn't create a neigong and qigong practice discussion forum here on thetaobums and I felt there needed to be one as I couldn't find one online. It's just a place for people who are interested in neigong training, a place for news of new schools and teachers etc. I recommend contacting Jim Chang's student he left his email up for contact here: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/5786-john-changs-1st-westener-student/page__view__findpost__p__67022 Also attend a longmen pai seminar and or buy this book if it turns out to be a real training manual and not some philosophical discourse. http://www.laoziacademy.us/ http://www.longmenpai.com/forum/ Dr. Jerry Allen Johnson is set to release his schools neigong manual next year, and I am looking forward to that as well. Those are the best leads I have for you.
Thunder_Gooch Posted April 2, 2012 I also registered for your neigong forum also, but nothing happened... Jox, Check again. It used to just be you had to fill out a captcha and that was that, but something somewhere broke and without moving to a new forum and losing everything I had to move to a moderator approval method. I chose vanilla forums because from my research it seemed most obscure and least hackable of all the forums, but getting support for it when it breaks sucks. Thunder_Gooch Posted April 4, 2012 (edited) just bought it, its coming thurs. $41 total the things i do for chi!!! Don't worry I've blown thousands on books and most turn out to be garbage to discuss philosophy when they claim to be the teachings of a school. Jim is also worth contacting. The spring forest qigong level one course is worth buying too imho. Dr. Jerry Allen Johnson's upcoming book looks to be good. And Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics 2nd Edition is a good book on energy work. Most everything else I've found has been garbage, not much in the way of real training material is in print, it's all philosophical discourse. Taoist Yoga by Charles luk is reputed to be a real training manual but it is so badly translated it is painful to even hold in my hands. It reads like some porno for dragons and tigers and ancient alchemy lab experiment manual with mercury and lead, way to much Jargon and nonsense I would have to sit down and re-translate it with with common English descriptions of all the nonsense words and phrases and rewrite it more simply for it to be useful. Re Taoist alchemy, i swear they replaced all the mercury and lead type description with vitality, spirit etc etc, at least in the PDF i have. The book generally feels quite clear to me apart from a few points, but still it's not a system i would practice without a teacher.
mantis Posted April 4, 2012 I just got my copy today and it is indeed a practice manual, very excited.

That would help me tremendously if it's not picture scans and it is actual text. I could create a word document and go through and batch replace terms that sound like gibberish to me with what they actually mean and reread it till I understood it and condensed it. It doesn't flow well at all for me. It was like these guys did the English translation: Edited April 5, 2012 by More_Pie_Guy
