Owledge Posted April 17, 2012 Haven't watches them yet, but it sounds logical that that's where the biblical number of the beast "666" comes from.
thelerner Posted April 17, 2012 (edited) Immortal4life: "The fact that the story of Nero intersects with the history of early Christianity and Gnosticism, is simply coincidental, and it is merely a backdrop for a more spiritual and universal theme. The theme of good and evil, and gnosis. Nero is truly an example of the darker aspects of human character, violence, perversion, and evilness. " Â Â You're right, I assumed improperly. Sorry. Naziri Posted April 18, 2012 Two things: Â 1. Yes, it is well-established in secular scholarship that "666" is simply the Hebrew gematria for "Caesar Nero(n)." This is why the Greek without the final nun was "616" which the earliest Greek manuscripts of the text had spelled out instead of 666 (interesting trivia fact). Â 2. This is pretty much irrelevant to this forum. It is interesting stuff, and much of my own research focuses on that era and region. Why not shoot me an email and just chat with interested parties instead of clogging up a Tao forum with these topics? Â Peace.
