idiot_stimpy Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) Interesting viewpoints I hadn't seen before. Well worth the watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-5OXFPQYkM Edited June 2, 2012 by jconnar
Gerard Posted June 3, 2012 (edited) And here's the opposite: To those who found inspiration in the conserving the seminal essence. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iujPqNV-yoc&feature=related Lust is part of maya. The enormous energy gathered from conserving and recycling the semen, instead of being wasted during sexual practice, is directed towards samadhi and vitality. idiot_stimpy Posted June 3, 2012 And here's the opposite: Actually the original video had the same message. That message was abstaining from orgasm and ejaculation.
Gerard Posted June 3, 2012 Cool then to see you are on the right track. I didn't watch the whole thing as I thought it would be another New Age-ish video about the benefits of tantric sex backed up with shady ancient knowledge, so my apologies. Celibacy and semen retention must happen naturally, through gradual purification of your Qi and conversion into Shen, not forced otherwise you'll build a lot of fire inside and the further deepening of the existing samskara of lust.

No need to apologize, to me it would have looked the same but I was pleasantly surprised. Currently I am 30 days in. I can definitely say the mental states are so much more pure. Another interesting thing too is people who repress their sexual urges and then those who transcend them. The video explains that when you abstain from orgasm the downward flowing energy reverses and goes back up the spinal column. Very interesting from a gnostic point of view. Thank you for summing it up so clearly Gerard! This is SO TRUE! You are one of those who make TTB a valuable place to browse
Gerard Posted June 3, 2012 (edited) You are welcome, but please don't thank me (even though what I stated is a product of my personal practice). Thank the Buddha and his infinite wisdom: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/pesala/Pandita/html/jhanas.html Be gentle with your mind and observe the coming and going of the mental states that cloud the mind and manifest in unwholesome actions. Once each jhanic level is settled then move on to the next; eventually you will realise emptiness and liberation from suffering if your progression is steady, linear and disciplined but NOT RIGID. There is good karma in this forum, look at ordinary humans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTvEvF1z0iA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXqVPYSQifU Inflated egos, delusion, destructive emotions, etc. TTB users are cultivating and refining their minds unlike the rest of our fellow humans, unfortunately. Good luck and good karma. Edited June 3, 2012 by Gerard
