Yin deficiency

Recommended Posts

Hi, I was trying to combat my state alone, but it isn't working out that well. So here I am asking for an advice.

I've got serious yin energy deficiency, coupled with moderate overflow of yang. It's not a new situation, but recently it became worse. Right now I really need a lot of energy to do my job. I discontinued dynamic meditation, too, because it was less than helpful. And it's summer and the air temperature is at its peak.

Symptoms: intolerance to cold, high tolerance to heat, anxiety, lack of concentration, inability to relax, etc. The only thing that helps more or less is meditation (not a dynamic one, though), but its effect only lasts that much. Certainly not more than an hour. And because of concentration level plummeting down it suddenly became hard to do it.

I was trying to eat only yin food, since it was a no-brainer to do that. So lots of milk, grains, etc. I was tryng to sleep a lot, too, which didn't always work. Some usage of lukewarm water, but that's mostly to avoid heat.

Result: high temperature for three days by now. No running nose or whatever cold symptoms, just high temperature. Mild pains in the area of upper stomach, it felt like a big chunk of ice got inserted there. Right now the ice chunk sensation is mostly gone, but high temperature isn't.

So I guess my body didn't like the cold or found it too much to cope with. What would you do to add yin energy to your body if it kept resisting?

Do you exercise? Actual, Physical exercise? More daily exercise is probably the best solution to yin deficiency... many practices have too much emphasis on stillness/little exertion.

yin and yang go hand in hand - exercise was going to be what I recommended also. lack of concentration, inability to relax...that's all helped by a good exercise regimen.

This might seem a little random but what about a pet fish?

They take little maintenance usually just needs to be fed once a day and clean the bowl when its dirty. It wouldn't drain your energy or time but the ritual of caring for a 'lesser' creature would help with natural flow of Yin in your life.

Just an idea though.

Individual differences trumps generic remedies. Exercise helps with anxiety; sometimes we have too much energy and if its not let out physically it gets mental, and that's bad. Milk is yin, but its certainly not for everyone.

Know Yourself, is it helping? Theories are nice, but they pale in relation to Knowing Yourself. Does your body process the milk and grains well? Do you really feel better afterwards or sluggish? How's your digestion?

You are your own great scientific experiment. Find out what you need, keep a journal, you are unique, don't assume..

When I tune into your energy, it tells me you either need a good acupuncturist (as in Five Element or a really good TCM person) or energetic corrections. You won't resolve this with food and exercise.

The words combat and alone are both weak for you (meaning there is weak energy around those words). Combat brings up something along the lines of struggle and all of your experiences of struggling (this can be corrected). Alone and all of your experiences of loneliness also need a correction.

Speaking of loneliness, there is also a karma of making other people lonely (abandoning others) which we can resolve right now by deleting all of these experiences from your spirit (that's a correction).

I also feel some weakness around spirit attachments which can be corrected.

In terms of meridians, you need several corrections:

Lungs, pericardium, liver, gallbladder, and conceptual vessel.

It feels to me like the energy going down is blocked at the solar plexus.

You might also try this free healing video (it seems goofy but it works!) if you cannot afford professional help:

http://www.quantumk.co.uk/quantumk_video.htm

So what I'm saying is you want to go after the energetic weaknesses to remove all of the blocks in your energy field.

Sincerely,

-Adam

Here is how the Yin-Yang concept works. When Yin is low in the body, one should eat more Yang food to counterbalance it.

But why would you want to add even more yang energy if what you need is yin? Do I misunderstand something when I think that you need to consume something with yin energy if you want to get more of it?

Maybe that's a little extreme, but I have an idea that one way is to eat and drink only yin food, deal with lots of water, meditate, have lots of sleep, and this way even though your body will react horribly at first (as it has shown to react), eventually if you don't stop it will be forced to adapt.

Or maybe 2 days this, 2 days that, like a contrast shower, to minimize the damage. Stupid or not, I'm at my wits' end...

thelerner, these are beautiful words, but I hate to see days go by like this, it feels like they pass by in vain, and that's not a good feeling. Surely I'm not THAT unique that I can't follow knowledge that others have collected. Experiments, if they turn out to be unnecessary, would only waste more time.

joeblast and fizix, what sort of physical exercises do you have in mind? Any would do?

I think something got lost in the translation about the Yin-Yang concept in the TCM.

You see the TCM works is like this. TCM was based the Concept of Yin-Yang. Normally, in the body, the Yin Chi and Yang Chi are 50/50 to stay in balance. Both of them interact with each other. If the Yin gets too weak, then it means that the Yang Chi was not sufficient to sustain the Yin Chi. Hence, you need to have more Yang Chi for the Yin Chi to be absorbed.

In your case, if you eat more Yin food, then it will make the Yin Chi even weaker. Do you understand how the reverse logic works here...???

Dear, please see someone in person about your condition.

And please report your findings/results on this thread, hmmm?

There are some on this forum who might be able to learn a little from your experience, ok!❤

You have exactly one life time to complete the experiment :).

Lately there was a resurrection of a Joe Blast thread about body weight exercise. Push ups, squats, and comparing them to the full body benefits of sun salutations. All good and no equipment needed. I don't do them often, but kettle ball thrusts have a reputation for being very energetic. The two handed swing involves a dynamic almost sexual pelvis rock that strengthens the core while being a good mix of aerobic and strength move.

One more difference of opinion here, all the more reason to get it checked out by a proper specialist in person, but it sounds like stress leading to tension leading to decrease in circulation and thus a general imbalance/lack of proper function, and need of some overall normalization.

I can't speak from any point of professional expertise, but I think the meditation helps because good and proper meditation tends to normalize and even things out, "filling the gaps and leveling the mounds" so to speak. To approach it from a nutritional/herbal etc side one would need to know A LOT about your present balance of elements/internal organs etc., which would best be done by a TCM doctor who knows how to do pulse diagnosis (determining the balance of organ powers through feeling pulses in your wrist).

You could try some more balancing chi gong, like Chun Yi Lin's system, instead of hard qi gong. This is generally a very safe approach to health, whereas building up tons of chi can be like, well, keeping a tiger as an indoor house cat if you don't have a full system set up to deal with it safely, with proper training etc.. you get the picture I'm sure. Sure having a tiger would be cool, but certainly not for anyone!

See a doctor / nutritionist

Drink plenty of liquids.

Maybe too much sugar

Maybe food allergies - gluten- milk

You need blood work to check for deficiencies

make a list of every thing you eat drink and show to doctor / nutritionist

Just guessing as like everyone else

You have to be seen in person :)

Insisting that you can resolve this with exercise, food, and physical practices alone will only make things worse. This speaks to a weakness in your misinterpretation, misinformation, and misidentification triad. When we insist on an answer that does not address the weakness, it makes it harder to resolve.

Also, your false tools hexagon needs to be strengthened (suppression, denial, lying, numbing, forgetting, shutting down). That hexagon is weak for denial. When human beings persist in denial of the cause of their pain that also makes thing worse.

You are using your thinking to address the symptoms instead of looking to resolve the underlying causes. The problem is we don't get answers from our thinking, we get them from our insight.

Please see a professional for help!

Sincerely,

-Adam

P.S. This is not guessing or opinion on my part either, the answers I'm giving you are a result of energetic testing.

I dont even want to choose a side in this subject but I would

like to see the issue addressed a bit more, thats a very

significant divergence of opinion , to stimulate yin by eating

yang food , or to balance ones attitude with ones food.

What you Chidragon, said is counterintuitive, but your point

wasnt contested directly.

From the teachings you have , what are common yang foods?

Stosh

PS

Food

this is an issue , I think , in which modern

science has failed to come to a solid conclusive stance

there is little concensus ,and so little guidance

Few things could be more central to our wellbeing

and yet they provide no answer.

Am I supposed to eat eggs or not, for instance

How do folks lose weight healthily?

The science illusion is that knowing factoids

about chemistry leads to healthy eating

Looking at the huge prevalence of eating related issues

science hasnt stepped up.
