RiverSnake Posted August 2, 2012 Lol, I think everyone has had that experience. As a man once that hot a wild Chi starts to gather in your loins its hard to come back to your center. You can no longer think straight and natures calling you to do your duty. Just sit and meditate on your LDT for awhile. I have found the closing practice that Mantak Chia gives is very effective: do 24 clock rotations and 24 counter clockwise rotations with your awareness at the LDT. -My 2 cents, Peace
kevincann Posted August 2, 2012 Having difficulty of stopping, seems to be attached, feels like a high that cannot let go off? Anyone have the same experience or has had the same experience? Thanks, Friends1! OG is right! The lower dantien is definitely where that sexual energy needs to go. Unfortunately the mind and emotions crave sex for release; not just physical release, but release of all kinds. You know that an orgasm is called 'le petite morte' in French, meaning 'the little death'. Our beings, which are very unbalanced at the first, crave 'the little death', because we are in fact seeking the 'big death' (the death of the conditioned mind). So over time, as we open up and purify, the craving for the 'little death' wanes, because we start to unfold the 'big death' - wholeness - Tao. So in short, just keep at it, and over time, probably in a later life stage you will find it much easier, for the reason stated. Now if you have a great mental / emotional purification practice, which opens you up even a bit to the 'big death', that in conjunction with the LDT practice will help you a lot. Diamond Spectrum Posted August 2, 2012 Ok ill Offer a helping hand. Har har! Let's assume you practice. Keep practicing. You always start where you left off. Tao is not so stricken with shame. Go be more social find a tao lady! When you get the urge, practice o first, it's only you? Most of these guys practice isolating themselves from others when you should be social to learn how your focal attention cone directs your chi inward or outward and in circulations. Also a good balance of practice circulates your channels so you will notice your periodic rhythms. I think most people notice they are more horny in the spring and summer, being horny is a good thing, it is the mind that distracts, I'm never cold, ever now, if I don't feel like I could do two of three girls in a row I know my energy level is low. That burning sensation came fast to me when I first started standing meditation. I was lucky that I had initiated males around me that opened up pathways previously untapped, circulating the micro cosmic orbit opens your MIND to the true potential of the body as a spiritual vehicle, or which physical creation is one aspect. Making love to yourself is dying to yourself. In standing meditation you will die many times over, and life and death will be on your breath like they are when you feel sexual, then you will realize. Oh and for Zen mystic results, no porn, just your mind, a popsicle stick and a rubber band.

ChiDragon Posted August 2, 2012 (edited) Good question! I practice Zazen and thus, I feel that I am hurting myself by masturbating, and thus taking out the time that I can be sitting, to masturbate. Thank you. Zazen is the word that I was after. As long you are doing Zazen correctly, assuming that you are because you are having lots of sexual energy. Just to be sure that you are doing more Zazen than the other to compensate the Yang used up by the Yin. Yang is the energy being built up during Zazen. Yin is the energy being dissipated from masturbation. Your Zazen practice is a form of Chi Kung which will make your libido more potent. It allows you to do it more often than normal but just don't over do it. At least allow three days for your sperms to mature before your next cycle of urgency. If you can help it not to initiate any action, your body will restrain your desire from further action. You seem like a strong young man. You are going to have a lots of this kind of urgency from the energy built up with your Zazen practice. If you keep up with the Yin-Yang balance as I've describe above, then you should be OK. Remember, keep the Yang energy level above the Yin. Best...!!! Edited August 2, 2012 by ChiDragon
Diamond Spectrum Posted August 2, 2012 (edited) Usually when you wake up in the morning with a pup tent there may be some pre sleep 'rises' in awareness preceding, use this opportunity to breath into your energy centers and let go into deeper levels of whole body consciousness. What you are experiencing is a state of mind awake body asleep. You will find natural windows of harmony in your life that precede other conduits or conditions. Opportunity is around every corner. The use of the mind in new facility accompanies I creases in energy levels. Edited August 2, 2012 by Diamond Spectrum

C T Posted August 2, 2012 With all the spin on the benefits of energetic cultivation vis-a-vis retention blah blah, LDT, UDT, more blah blah... its no wonder you're struggling. What are your 'spiritual' priorities, btw? What are hoping to get out of Zazen? If the aim is to overcome addiction of sorts, its an inadequate approach. Not that its lacking in methodology, but the practitioner's mind is, hence there will always be major strifes because there will be a tendency for regular bouts of compensatory and useless self-chat recurring habitually.

Diamond Spectrum Posted August 2, 2012 Technology eliminates alternatives to itself in precisely the way that Aldous Huxley outlined in Brave New World. It does not make them illegal. It does not make them immoral. It does not even make them unpopular. It makes them invisible, and therefore irrelevant.
kevincann Posted August 2, 2012 My observation is that meditation-only approaches can be problematic once purification has caused sufficient subtle changes in the body. It is understood that making Awareness the primary focus, without grounding practices, increase the flow of energy but give it nowhere to 'go'. Being a dual-purpose energy (sexual energy), if you do not focus it for spiritual purposes, it will just pile up as increased sex drive, and then it's hard to keep one's hands off oneself This is why I respect comprehensive systems, which honor both "as the mind so the body" and "as the body so the mind". Tom Lin Posted August 2, 2012 Overcoming masturbation is more about figuring out the thought patterns that trigger your want to do it. So you don't have to meditate to get over it, you just have to be aware of what your thinking at all times...that goes for any other addictions. And then once you understand your own thought patterns you'll have a better chance at knowing when your urge will come. When you do feel the urge your just going to have to man up and resist from going on with the masturbation. Overtime if you persevere your mind will get over it. but focus on the now.
Aaron Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) Having difficulty of stopping, seems to be attached, feels like a high that cannot let go off? Anyone have the same experience or has had the same experience? Thanks, Friends! Hello Leon, I'm sorry that this is causing you so much distress in your life. The sad fact is that in today's society we are still holding on to the old mentalities regarding sex that have plagued us for thousands of years. Even with the backing of science we can't let go of this notion that sex is intrinsically bad for us, even though there is no real proof that it is. There is no proof it is diminishes us spiritually, physically, or emotionally, in fact science seems to be proving the latter, yet because we are raised to repress sexuality, to view any act of sex outside the confines of marriage as being sinful, we have raised an entire new generation to suffer from our own failings and unwillingness to change. You are a product of that and as someone from the generation before you, I apologize for this. I've tried my best to educate people regarding this, but there are those who seem hellbent on perpetuating the myth, pain, and suffering for the good of cultivation, God, and Buddha. I really wish all this madness would stop, that a young person didn't need to question his own worth as a person because of a natural desire he or she has, a desire that arises, not from sin or lack of discipline, but from generations upon generations of evolution. This desire tells you that you are young and in the prime of your life, that it is time to procreate and have children and raise those children. It is a desire that is not wrong or bad, but rather one that leads us all towards whatever destination the human race is heading. Without it we would not have the human race. If you are truly having a problem with masturbation, if it's effecting your work, your ability to care for yourself, feed yourself, or causing physical harm, then yes you should probably get help, but if it's just a desire to feel the pleasure of sex, then what's the harm in that? Are your thoughts violating another person? Is the act of pleasuring yourself causing harm to someone else? Does giving in to that desire make you less of a man than the 98% of the population that spends time masturbating? My question is how does something that nearly everyone does end up being the one thing that prevents us from achieving spiritual perfection, especially if it's so hard to stop doing? It seems very lucky for those in the religious business, because without it, it might be much harder to keep people coming back. Without this one dark little blotch that only they can appease and absolve you from, they would probably have a hard time finding other things to keep people in check. Sex is human. Sex is humane. Sex is wonderful and good and if anything was given to us as a gift, it was. It is the source of life and love and EVERYTHING. Without it we would not even be here today to debate this. Don't allow years of indoctrination convince you that you are somehow inadequate or incapable of being good and pure, simply because you have a desire that nature and the universe has given you as a gift! For all the cultivators preying on the young people coming to these sites, selling them your books and feeding them your bullshit, if there's a hell, I'm sure it holds a special place for you.
