ChiDragon Posted September 16, 2012 It is just a descriptive term used by TCM for something that was too potent which has to be slowed down or eliminated. For example, if you are having a high sexual drive, it was said to be that your "yang fire(陽火)" is too strong.
Birch Posted September 17, 2012 Something exterior, obvious? Just hit me that 'yin fire' would probably be a tougher problem to detect, a slow oxydation, an overgrowth of bacteria? Anyway, not that I have the answers but I appreciate the dimensionality of yin/yang as applied to anything.
zanshin Posted September 17, 2012 Is yang fire always destructive? Seems maybe yin fire could be useful. Fire destroys metal, but fire is also used in metal working to shape, temper and refine.

idiot_stimpy Posted September 18, 2012 Thank you for posting it. I am sure I will need to refer to it in the future. Generally speaking, is all YANG effort? Generally speaking, is non-effort YIN?
Stosh Posted September 20, 2012 Since nobody else responded yet, Yin and yang can be looked at different ways , its not just effort that gets described with those terms. a thing can either garner energy or expend energy a thing can be light or dark a thing can be male or female high or low etc etc blah blah blah or it can been as a situation of complimentary opposites the poles of a spectrum etc . The way you end up looking at the subject will probably be indicative of who you line up with philosophically or vice versa Stosh
