Wells Posted October 1, 2012 I heard that this Nazi expedition in Tibet 1938 was in fact operated by the head of the Thule society, Karl Ruprecht Kroenen...

Aetherous Posted October 1, 2012 I've read about how the 13th Dalai Lama was close to Hitler....looking it up just now I can't seem to find much reliable info. Just that he personally translated Mein Kampf. Â Seems that the Nazis felt the pre-Tibetan culture had something to do with their "Aryans". Perhaps from the beginning of their movement...illustrated by the use of swastikas. Â They were weird.
zanshin Posted October 1, 2012 It's the 14th and current Dalai Lama. The story is in the book and movie 7 Years in Tibet. He had a friend and mentor who was in Nazi party. Some conspiracy theories about bigger Nazi connections and that Nazis wanted to use Tibetand to help fight Chinese and Indians. Mostly wild stories, but could be a little truth. Aetherous Posted October 16, 2012 It's sometimes thought that Hitler kind of stole the swastika from Eastern cultures, and then messed with it...turning it around and on its side, etc. But I just stumbled upon this info in wiki which shows that the symbol was already a part of the Northern cultures for a long time... Â http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thor#Swastikas http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika_%28Germanic_Iron_Age%29 Â This is also interesting, highlighting the possible connection of ancient Northern European and Eastern cultures: http://web.cn.edu/kwheeler/IE_Main4_Sanskrit.html
