Why red meat-eating Korea & US have karma of war..

Recommended Posts

I believe that murdering people is a terrible act. A murderer is a murderer. My point is that not only Muslims and Jews but also Christians had murdered and are murdering people based on their religious beliefs.

Just last night I watched a documentary on some indigenous Indian tribes in the Amazon and they are still killing each other and they don't even have any pigs. They don't have any religions either. They just enjoy killing each other.

Aye but it was SunLover who started that and he's a loonie.

Hehehe. That's pretty damn judgemental, isn't it? (Not that I disagree.)

At least they did not have any religion. But the Crusaders, Belgians, Serbs, Sunnis and Shias of Iraq, they do not have this excuse.

Exactly.

I really believe that these various killings have nothing to do with the state of humanity as a whole but to know that people are killing each other for really stupid reasons is sad. Fortunately not all humans are this way - most would just prefer being left alone so that they can live a peaceful life, whether carnivorous or vegetarian.

In my opinion, the greed in the nature of humanity, always looking for more, is the root cause of the problem.

In sufism, it is related with Nafs. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nafs) A sufi learns sufism by the struggle against his own nafs. Nafs always tells the egoist and sometimes evil thing to do. If one obeys his/her nafs, she/he will be in real trouble.

Interesting.

Most philosophies point to the negative effects of greed and excessive ego. Taoism does as well. In Sufi I suppose that personalizing these helps the follower to pay more attention to what they are doing and why. This is good.
