Birch Posted November 21, 2012 This is kinda off-topic, but I still thought I might share this with you people. For anyone who thinks that there is something off both with the current scientific view on evolution (and materialism in general) and any type of creationism, this book might be very interesting. For a piece of philosophy it's also very readable in my opinion (and relatively short aswell): Â I don't find it off-topic as it speaks to the evolution issue. Definitely contentious. Don't get me wrong, I'm very interested in this 'of the mind' aspect. I'm not sure about how 'cosmic' it is. I'd suggest that to be an extrapolation, created by the mind itself. For anyone who thinks that there is something off both with the current scientific view on evolution (and materialism in general) and any type of creationism, this book might be very interesting. For a piece of philosophy it's also very readable in my opinion (and relatively short aswell): Â An author named Gary Renard has written a couple of books on A Course in Miracles. He wrote these books after being contacted by two "beings". These beings gave him info on how to help people better understand the Course. Anyway these beings told him that human beings didn't evolve on earth but migrated here from Mars. Some evidence was given - such that human DNA and Chimp DNA are only 97% identical.....I don't know if it's true - but Gary has a lot of followers in the Course community - and most say he isn't making anything up.

Birch Posted November 26, 2012 I see 'Adam and Eve' as a Xtian version of the Shiva/Shakti couple. Also as a reminder to take most things that are written down as purely symbolic. Hell, even this post is purely symbolic of the entirety of the reality of the experience I intend (and also do not intend) to get across.
Birch Posted November 26, 2012 Zanshin, breeding animals (especially dogs) for specific uses is a really interesting topic. The 'genetic intervention' idea suggests that humans are the result of a similar intent. Â I've been playing around with the idea of the IChing as being one such program. Feng Shui another. Birch Posted November 26, 2012 Had an interesting discussion with an s&m sub once re. idea that being a good and obedient "slave" was adaptive thru much of history and she found it a natural path. Â Definitely a learned thing. Certainly adaptive. Could argue whether learning is 'natural' or not. My personal experience (and practice) has shown me just how much of life has been lived 'in reaction' and not a deliberately chosen 'path' of any kind. Although if you asked me at each juncture of choice, I'd swear to you I was making a deliberate choice.
