Celestial Posted November 19, 2012 Anyone read this book? http://www.amazon.com/Five-Levels-Taijiquan-Chen-Xiaowang/dp/184819093X/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3ATB9C53AOSU1&coliid=I1ERBRT6L5GX9Y It's a little pricey which is why I've been hesitant to pick it up. Not only that but there's only two reviews for it on Amazon.

Celestial Posted November 19, 2012 Yeah that's what drew me to the book in the first place. I was hoping that a fellow bum had read it though and could give me a mini review on it.
Bubbles Posted December 19, 2012 I have just seen your post. I am biased so won't be of real help. I have bought it and find it useful and inspirational but that's because I like Chen Taijiquan and won't miss a book from Chen Xiaowang. Now, you should know that the most lenghty part of the book is due to his german disciple's commentary of his treatise. There are some technical points but it is a general overview. GreytoWhite Posted January 11, 2013 I personally wouldn't bother with the book. The essay is available for free from CXW, just without Silberstorff's commentary. Honestly a good teacher and constant practice will help you more than this book. Unless you are at a level to start instructing Chen jia quan in a MARTIAL manner you will most likely gain little from the book. Don't get me wrong, Chen Xiaowang's lineage is what I started learning from and it is very deep, I just think the book would be a waste of money. http://www.shou-yi.org/taijiquan/5-levels-of-skill-in-chen-taijiquan http://taichiblog.spiralwise.co.uk/2012/05/review-five-levels-of-taijiquan-by.html
