ghostwriter Posted January 3, 2007 Hello all, I'm not necessarily new to Taoism, having read Alan Watts' "The Watercourse Way" back in the early 70s. I have also taken an online course about "philosophical Taoism" and have read several other books, including "The Tao of Pooh." No matter what sort of agnostic or naturalist or transcendentalist sideline I wander into, I keep coming back to Taoism as a concise and accurate expression of the way of the world. So, I'm here in learning mode, having forgotten 90 percent of everything I've read. I'm looking forward to it. David Dawson Memphis, TN
sean Posted January 4, 2007 Now if you can just forget that last 10%, then you will remember it all.

Eric23 Posted January 4, 2007 Welcome. I too read and am now re-reading The Watercourse Way. For whatever reason, Alan Watts has always helped this western mind understand the nuts and bolts.
Peregrino Posted January 7, 2007 Hi, gw! Alan Watts was a big influence on me when I first started checking out the contemplative path, and I'm also proud to say that I once lived in Memphis, resting place of America's only true king! (Some day the Elvis Diet will be vindicated!) Glad to have you on board. Best, Peregrino
