thelerner Posted December 13, 2012 Fine, lets hijack it. What night time/Sleep Qi gong things do you do? Â Me. Not too much lately, doing dream work tends to make my insomnia flare up. Sometimes I'll 'feel' energy running up my pinkie to my shoulder then down to my little toe, then circulate up the next finger to the next toe, until its up my thumb and circulates down to my big toe. Don't where I got that from other then the thought sending energy 'down' helps one fall asleep. Â I keep a dream journal by my bed, and on waking I'll stay in a twilight state and do healthful affirmations sending thoughts of healing and rejuvenation to different parts of my body. GrandmasterP Posted December 13, 2012 I do 8 strands standing form one round before retiring every night then once round the full mala nembutsuing (for family and sick list health and a big lottery win, one out of two aint bad so far) in bed. Usually sleep like a large and rather elderly baby and never have nightmares (there's a trick to that, PM if you want it). Dreams tend to depend on whatever I've been reading or what's at the front of my mind. This week I've been mainly out in the old west on a wagon train. No idea how the elephants arrived but they are pretty handy against marauding Apaches.
skydog Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) Ok my question/statement was to do with sleeping qigong. Â I can get into the state fairly easy but am wondering if it is better to break my night off into two hour segments, like they do with tibetan dream yoga and different chakras, but use an alarm clock. Also much easier to do it when eating light and earlier dinners. Â I did it last night except for 2 out of 8 hours in the middle. Â Or is this bad for sleep because 8 hours without losing meditativeness, probably just nod to sleep. Â Also I remember thetaoiseeasy mentioning about dreamless sleep and sleeping light. Â I did get some visions a bit at the begining but only did a tiny bit of dreaming qigong guess it will come in time if neccessary Edited December 13, 2012 by sinansencer
GrandmasterP Posted December 13, 2012 Broken sleep isn't healthy.
GrandmasterP Posted December 13, 2012 Interesting and come to thknk of it the monks at Mount St Bernard near here tend towards being pretty spry and they get up during the night for a service. It's my nursing head on. Everybody needs 8 hours sleep in 24 and any more is a bonus. I seldom go the full 8 hours these days more like 6 or 7 but unless a dog gets me up I do sleep through. skydog Posted December 13, 2012 Yeh there seem to be a few theories on sleep and I dont think tibetans would do dream yoga like that if it was really unhealthy, but really I have no idea
skydog Posted December 13, 2012 Also I think I read a brief part of that book silver birch where he reccomends sleeping in segments to get used to the role of different dimensions as it would then become a normal part of life.
GrandmasterP Posted December 13, 2012 Aaaarrgghhhhh. "Silver Birch".. (also known as Maurice Barbanell, pissed and talking bollocks) Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sinan. Run away fast, save yourself.
GrandmasterP Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) Morrie (fond of a tipple) Barbanell was editor of our trade paper The Psychic News for years. Trade was bad. Morrie comes up with an idea. Red Indian spirit guides are in vogue, Morrie shall have one. Anyone with a burning question and a handy ten shilling note can send both to Morrie c/o the Psychic News office and Morrie in trance will channel Silver Birch's answers. The clever bit was that Morrie did not let on to readers that it was him who was the medium, he kept schtum about that for a couple of years and the money rolled in. Sil;ver Birch even had his own column in Psychic News answering readers questions from his happy hunting grounds over there on the astral plane. (Actually Morrie wrote them in the office at Neasden) The scam went on for ages until someone blew the whistle, Morrie admits he's the medium and the ten shilling questions thing is phased out. BUT Spiritualists being what they are, by now Silver Birch or SB as he is known, has gained quite a following so Morrie sets up a trust cum charidee to pblish SB wisdon in book form. The books are tiny pamphlet like things with a couple or three SB columns in each one. They have been in print and sold well ever since. Morrie's executors (friends and family) are still trustees and, if you are daft enough; you can still buy SB books to this day from the rather well to do folk here... http://www.silverbirchpublishing.co.uk/ Edited December 13, 2012 by GrandmasterP
skydog Posted December 13, 2012 ah ok fair enough to be honest a friend showed me a book and i glanced at the cover of the ebook and said ill read it later, maybe read a page..lol
GrandmasterP Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) Then Red Indian guides went out of fashion so, even though they kept the piccy of SB as a Red Indian on the cover of each slender volume they come up with the story that he's maybe just using the Red Indian persona as a sort of cover when actually he's... (Depending on whatever was in fashion at the time).... An Atlantean sage Member of the Galactic Council Mr Jesus Mr Buddha...etc etc I kid you not, they had every angle covered and then some. Utter bollocks and the books are worse than Xmas Cracker 'wisdom', platitude central. I'll stop now, rant over. :-) Edited December 13, 2012 by GrandmasterP
skydog Posted December 14, 2012 "Most mediums are very negative 99% of them and most of them are a form obsession (inserts patronising wikepedia link) there is a few positive ones such as silver birch UK with respect most of them are negative stay away" Â lol

GrandmasterP Posted December 14, 2012 Moan moan moan some of em. Just cos someone's left their body doesn't mean they suddenly become cheerful n chirpy. Just now and again I'd like one to pop in with the next lot of lottery numbers but no. Grannys bringing flowers, how they were there when the widow moved the photo or that they really like those new curtains Mundane stuff 99% of the time. Still, it's a living. skydog Posted December 14, 2012 lol so who are these people, people who havent reincarnated yet still stuck in this world or people who are gonna be in this world for a long time, do they come to you for energy? do you see them try to possess others? Â curiosity tim
GrandmasterP Posted December 14, 2012 Nah they are just people who have left their bodies and are hanging around to check out what their loved ones are getting up to. They all move on eventually apart from the few who get stuck i.e. 'ghosts'.

Mokona Posted December 14, 2012 Sometimes after practcing chi kung near bed time my dreams become more vivid, I sometimes see my chi kung instructors as well. It might make sense that the subconcious tunes into the energy if it's on the mind near bed-drift. Â Might I also suggest breathing in through the pores or limbs to the lower belly, and back out the opposite way once you hit the bed? I like to spread out and do this. it works wonders to bring in extra chi as bedtime nears. Makes it easier for me to sleep, too. The problem is that it sometimes propels me to a near astral obe state and that always freaks me out.
