Reverse & Vase Breathing.

Thanks, Ish, I'll add it to my shopping list ... I checked out that video GMP put up, but all I saw was an effect, not an explanation of the breathing technique. Heh, 200+ degrees is fairly impressive, I've only managed to swing a 60 degree differential thus far, and only in cold weather at that. Of course, that could have been NaOH solution with H2O that Zhou put on the foil, which would explain the heat .. I don't think they were taking the temp of the labour points in the palms.

Vase Breathing and Tummo are not exactly the same things. This is a good explanation of the Vase Breathing technique http://www.cebtm.net...yi Rinpoche.pdf which is very easy to do.

Sadly, since this is already something that I do, it does not advance my knowledge :(

But at least I know what term to give it when attempting to explain, thank you :)

Always found Master Nan Huai Chin interesting

Khumbaka and anapanasati are different and should both be explored according to the Tibetan Buddhist teachings I know (not that I know that much).

 

The "reverse" breathing, ala the Daoist practices I was taught, is different. But then there are many practices going under the name.

 

Same with "Tummo", and "vase" breathing many many versions all under one name.

Reverse breathing is part of my shaolin qigong form I practice. There are 5 excersises and aim to do 49 reverse breaths per excersise. Not easy to accomplish but if you do manage to get to that level while still maintaining a fully relaxed disposition you will get great benifets, so my teacher tells me. I find reverse breathings is more efficient to extract energy from the air per breath
