The CLO was probably the first spiritual order on Earth, and the energy practices are the original energy practices. Most major religions have their roots in a teacher of the CLO, although most people who followed or now follow the religion would not usually know the founder was a CLO monk/teacher.

 

Shargung La is the final place where the Children of the Law of One retreated to after the final destruction of Atlantis in 10,500 BC, they also went to Egypt, the Pyrenees, and the Yucatan.

 

Many of the world's energy practices originate from Tibetan mountains and even the Shargung La area in Tibet, a warmer subtropical area inside the deepest gorge in the world, amidst the freezing Himalayas. Most energy or spiritual practices are related to the Children of the Law of One in some way or another I believe.

 

What the CLO emphasize is unselfish love over all else. You can identify the true CLO teachers by their emphasis on unselfish love for all beings , returning to God by regaining universal consciousness and contact with god by direct experience, returning to oneness with god, and not emphasis on abilities, phenomena, power, or anything like that.

 

Even in this world of darkness, selfish consciousness, and pain, there have always been the CLO who love all beings, who feel pain and compassion with understanding for the beings on earth and the condition of the beings on earth. They have always been lights shining in the darkness, guiding humanity, and are here for those that really are ready, those that can awaken to their inner being, and truly improve themselves to return to their original angelic states and transcend the human world. However, in 1990 the CLO monks in Tibet and elsewhere were attacked and many were killed, there are now few left in this world and in 1998 the teachings were made public for the first time in history since the days of Atlantis

The author of this book and I are both priests/monks of an obscure spiritual order called the Children of the Law of One. The famous unique Psychic, Edgar Cayce, referred to our order in a number of his many famous psychic readings. Some of the information we present in this book apparently confirms information in those readings. While this attests to Cayce's remarkable abilities, we are not experts on his readings, and thus cannot guarantee that everything here will be in agreement with them, and vice-versa. But from what we do know of them, and from what we have heard from people who are very familiar with Cayce, this book substantiates his readings, enhances understanding of them, and offers new ways to apply the spiritual principles spoken of in them. Apparently the teachings in this book may also be the fulfillment of his prophecy that a "John Peniel" would bring to the world a message about the "new spiritual order of things" around 1998 (the year this book was first published). Before this book was published we were unaware of that prophecy. We attempted to publish anonymously, but were told certain distributors would not carry the book unless we put the authors name on it, so we relented. Shortly afterwards, we began hearing from members of an association founded by Edgar Cayce, the A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment) telling us about the prophecy. Many said after reading the book, they were sure it was the fulfillment of it. We make no claims regarding this issue either way one way or the other. However, the A.R.E magazine "Venture Inward" published what many consider an intentionally negative review of this book, focusing on irrelevant story and editing details rather than the teachings, or addressing the above issues

 

What's in a name?

 

The name of our order is unfamiliar and odd to most people. One reason is we have deliberately avoided public notoriety, generally preferring to live and work in peace, undisturbed, behind the scenes. The "dark ages" are still with us, despite what history books say. Sometimes specific members became famous, but only when necessary for their work, or unavoidable.

 

Another reason the name sounds odd is because of it's obscure and foreign origins. The name of the order was originally expressed as one concept, and can only really be understood as a whole, but breaking it down may help you to understand it better. Just try to keep this paradox in mind- the name means many things, but only one thing.

 

The first part "Children of..." relates to us all being "Children" in the sense of "subordinates of God (which we will call the Universal Spirit)", or "obedient to God and Universal Law." The end part, the "One", essentially means God. Rather than a giant silver haired man in the sky, we consider God to be the totality of everything that exists- the Universe itself even- thus God is the "One". The middle part, "The Law of" comes from the fact that within the One, there are Universal Laws which govern the operation and function of everything in the Universe. Put that all together and "The Children of the Law of One" essentially means " Those who obey Universal Law and serve the Universal Spirit"

 

Thus something that is very important in our opinion, is being in harmony with, one with, and a servant of, God. The primary key to that, is Loving Unselfishly. The "rule" of loving others unselfishly is sometimes called the Golden Rule. Many religions and spiritual paths believe in this rule. It was even the only commandment given by Jesus (and the way he said people would identify his followers- i.e. true Christians would be recognized by loving others as Jesus did). Unfortunately, the Golden rule is seldom lived by, or focused on. It's often overlooked, and not given the major significance it deserves. This book will go more into detail about that later

 

Throughout history, we (and branches of out order) were sometimes known to various cultures by other names. But generally unknown to the masses, working behind the scenes, we provide inspiration and education that nourishes the best in humankind- spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. It may take the form of the arts, the sciences, spiritual or political philosophy, etc. But in all cases we bring some form of light into a world of darkness. Thus , some of the initiates have become known as scientists, artists, unusual political representatives or freedom fighters. Anywhere, and anyway we can promote spirituality through Unselfish Love and a return to Oneness, we do.

 

Sometimes the name of our Order or one of it's branches has been stolen and used by those with a dark agenda. Sometimes even the teachings are taken, and twisted to serve their purposes. In their supreme selfishness the greedy have used our name and corrupted the teachings in pursuit of money, pleasure, power, and even world domination. I'm sure many of you can see how Jesus' name has been abused to mislead people. This also happened with the name "The Great White Brotherhood". Now there are also those abusing the name "Children of the Law of One". You will know the true Children of the Law of One by their emphasis on Unselfish Love and Freedom, rather than on "spiritual knowledge", "secret information", "power", or "phenomenon". Let the Universal Spirit, your Inner Voice, be your guide lest you fall into the beautiful traps of darkness

 

Who We are and What We Do

 

Initiates of our order have been dedicated spiritual "caretakers" of humanity since human life began. We have always been vigorous proponents of truth, freedom, justice, and compassion. Our teachings have always been carefully preserved and passed down directly from teacher to student (who then becomes a teacher etc.) This has continued in an unbroken chain, using all means, including reincarnation. You may or may not believe in reincarnation, but does it really matter that much if we care about each other, are good to each other, and follow the Golden Rule in our lives? It doesn't matter to me whether you believe in reincarnation or not, and I hope it also doesn't matter to you whether I do or not.

 

You may have heard how one famous Buddhist spiritual leader of our times, The Dalai Lama, continues to reincarnate, repeatedly taking the same position in life, serving as a teacher and leader of the people of Tibet,and of Tibetan Buddhism. This one enlightened being has reincarnated over a dozen times as the Dalai Lama. This practice is not exclusive to Buddhism. Enlightened teachers of the Children of the Law of One also continue to reincarnate , although they usually choose different bodies and positions in life for various reasons.

 

Some of our Order have been called "ascended" masters (saints who have passed on). But many continue to reincarnate in physical bodies, to directly aid the people of the world

 

While many people believe "ascended masters" or saints are the "highest" or "greatest" beings, those who choose to come back to Earth rather than ascend, pay the greatest price. Their continued reincarnation is a painful sacrifice they make for all of us- including you. These loving beings make this sacrifice so those who wake up "crying in the darkness", and desperately reaching out for God, will have a someone to take their hand, and help guide their way.

 

In order to serve those who need their help, there have always been approximately a thousand initiate monks on Earth at one time. But as you will later read, at this time there are but a few hundred. Some live monastically, while other live amongst the people of this world. Most go about their work quietly, often unnoticed. Even though they usually strive for anonymity many gained historical recognition. They have been known as saints, sages, founders of religions, scientists, inventors, teachers, artists, writers, philosophers, magi, and even some of the founding fathers of the United States. But whatever their undertaking or apparent profession, they have a common "earmark"- they always promote and exemplify Unselfish Love, Oneness and Freedom, and are at odds with the instigators of selfishness, hate, separation, oppression and slavery.

 

"Leadership" within the CLO is based on, and determined by an individuals consciousness or "level of spiritual development". Thus the most humble and most self sacrificing are the "highest ranking" and powerful leaders of the Children of the Law of One. These beings have always had the most positive influence on the world, throughout history. The being who was known in one of his lifetimes as Jesus, is an excellent example of this. Known also by other names throughout history, he was out Grandmaster, the foremost leader of the Children of the Law of One throughout the ages. His example of strength through self discipline, caring and Unselfish Love, spread a message throughout the world. A message he knew would only get told throughout the world if he made the ultimate self-sacrifice. (Unfortunately, after his spiritual ascension, greedy men began to misrepresent his words and deeds, used his name and edited parts of his teachings, in order to gain wealth, acquire power, and even justify harming others) . Like the Grandmaster, all but one of the "old ones" ( the earliest ancient leaders of the CLO) have passed beyond the physical plane and choose to no longer be incarnate with us here on Earth. As the current period of this cycle of Earth draws to a close, he is making the ancient teachings available to the public for the first time to provide a "candle in the window" of guidance and hope.

 

Jon Peniel, (the present head of our order) will begin his story in the next chapter. It includes the story of his physical journey through life, but for the most part, it portrays his spiritual journey. He tells his story in such a way that the reader can follow, and share, his thoughts, feelings, and experiences as he begins the studying and training that transforms him from a novice student monk, to an initiated monk (or "priest"). The first half of this book reveals the ancient teachings in a format of his personal re-learning and changing, during his days at the monastery. And in the second half, he reveals our personal meditation and energy exercises.

Sorry, I don't buy what Jon is selling. Marvel and Dr. Strange were there first. The whole super secret tibetan monastery thing has already been done to death in fiction. There is a type of manic genius who grabs onto an idea and spits out volumous reams of information creating an elaborate mythology. Some of good, some great, most poor, inevitably self contradicting and all of it made up. Scientology is a great example of this. There are so many such books that its practically its own New Age subgenre.

I posted the above without reading much of the links. I read some. Its not even a good example of the 'Idiot finds Hidden Enlightened Ones' genre. Carlos Casteneda could pull this off because he wrote well, and had deep insights into the esoteric, after all he was an anthropology major. This is cliche after cliche. Even Casteneda didn't have the chutzpah to literally trademark his 'invented' people.

 

The conversations quickly move away from the Elder Monk Raga's knowledge of Buddhism and into New agery because I doubt Jon Peniel has a depth of knowledge about Buddhism and New Agery is easier to flow with. Its easier to have the monk say I'm descended from Atlantis then mention a real Buddhist lineage because it'd be too easily torn apart.

 

I could be wrong, but seems fictional and poorly done at that.

There is no other book like it, one that presents an entire, comprehensive, spiritual path, and legitimate way to attain enlightenment. The monastery, and undiscovered area of the Himalayas is a fascinating true story, however, the system and teaching is what really sets this head and shoulders above the rest

EXPLORERS FIND ELUSIVE SHANGRI-LA IN WORLD'S DEEPEST KNOWN GORGE

No record exists of people ever having seen the 100 foot-high waterfall and lush subtropical garden in the Tibetan Himalayas until now

WASHINGTON - Explorers finally have found Shangri-La.

It might not be quite the storied, verdant, Utopia Himalayan paradise of James Hilton's 1933 novel "Lost Horizon" and subsequent movie of the same name. But it is verdant, it is a kind of paradise, and it is hidden deep within Tibet's Himalayas in a monstrously steep gorge within a gorge. There is no record of any person having visited, or even seen, the area before.

Tucked beneath a mountain spur at a sharp bend of the Tsangpo River Gorge, where the cliff sides are only 75 yards apart and cast perpetual shadows, the place failed to show up even on satellite surveillance photographs of the area.

"If there is a Shangri-La , this is it," said Rebecca Martin, director of the National Geographic Society's Expeditions Board, which sponsored the trek. "This is a pretty startling discovery, especially in a time when many people are saying, "What's left to discover?"

Tentatively named by the explorers the Hidden Falls of the Tsangpo and located in a forbidding region called Pemako that Tibetans consider highly sacred, the elusive site was reached by American explorers Ian Baker, Ken Storm Jr. and Brian Harvey late last year, though the society did not make its confirmation of their success official until Thursday.

In addition to a spectacular 100-foot-high waterfall- long rumored but until now undocumented- they found a subtropical garden between a 23,000 foot and a 26,000 foot mountain, at the bottom of a 4,000 foot high cliff.

According to Martin, it's the world' deepest mountain gorge.

"It's a place teeming with life." Storm said in telephone interview from his office in the Minneapolis suburb of Burnsville. "It's a terribly wild river, with many small waterfalls, heavy rapids and a tremendous current surging through. Yet there are all kinds of flora; subtropical pine, rhododendrons, craggy fir and hemlock and spruce on the hillsides. It's lush. Just a tremendous wild garden landscape."

The animals there include a rare, horned creature called the Takin, sacred to Tibetan Buddhists.

Difficult as the gorge was to reach, Storm said one of the hardest aspects of the expedition was leaving to return to civilization.

"The last we saw of it was looking down... with clouds sealing the gorge and side-stream waterfalls jetting out into the river," he said. "it's probably the most romantic landscape I'd ever seen."

This was the seventh expedition that Baker, a Tibet scholar living in Katmandu, led into the Himalayas in search of the mythic falls.

In addition to Storm, a book and game dealer turned explorer, and Harvey, a National Geographic photographer, the team included another scholar, Hamid Sardar of Cambridge, Mass., two Tibetan hunters, a Sherpa guide and eight porters - though Baker, Storm and Harvey were the only ones to make the demanding descent to the gorge and falls.

Among other things, their discovery proves that two great rivers of Asia - the Tsangpo, which runs completely across Tibet, and the mighty Brahmaputra, which runs through the Indian state of Assam and Bangladesh to the Bay of Bengal--are connected.

Reminiscent of the fabled "source of the Nile" that English explorers Richard Burton and John Spede raced each other to find in the middle of the 19th century--both making controversial claims to have found it first--the Tsangpo falls and gorge proved so far beyond explorers' reach that they were declared nonexistant.

The southern approach up the Brahmaputra posed the most obstacles.

"It's tremendously difficult terrain of jungles and insects and tigers," Storm said. "The lower gorge area was protected by Abhors and Mishmi, Burmese tribal groups. They protected that area pretty fiercely, and early British attempts to penetrate were frustrated."

In 1911, two British explorers were able to locate all but 30 to 40 miles of the river connection. A local guide named Kintup was later hired to continue into the inner gorge and try to find the sacred place by traveling as a Buddhist pilgrim.

He claimed to have found a connection between the two rivers but said the only high waterfall was not on the Tsangpo but up a smaller tributary.

In 1924, British botanist Francis Kingdon-Ward advanced to a point that narrowed the unknown stretch of the river to three or four miles. He found a waterfall as well but measured it at only 30 feet. Finding further penetration impossible because of the steepness and narrowness of the gorge and bad weather, he turned back, declaring the long sought high falls nonexistent.

Although the Tsangpo River starts at 7,000 feet above sea level, it rapidly descends and cuts through the Tibet plateau by way of the only gap in the Himalayas open to the heavy weather of the Indian plains and wetlands below.

"The weather pours up from Assam, which is one of the wettest places on Earth, and you have notoriously terrible weather in there." Storm said. "You can go weeks if not months with clouds and rains and snow at the higher elevation. You have a river literally eating its way through these mountains in this great gorge."

Lasting 17 days, Baker's expedition approached the Tsangpo from the north, following animal trails and the advice of their Tibetan hunters and descending some 4,000 feet. Using mountaineers' ropes to get down the last 80 feet of the cliff, they found themselves at the "great falls," which they measured with laser range finders - a Shangri-La just a quarter of a mile from where Kingdon-Ward turned back.

"It's a powerful sight to experience," said Storm, who said he plans to return. "it's a rather humbling feeling just to have taken part."

"Western logic is inadequate to explain certain phenomena that we experienced here," says Gil. "We saw rivers flowing side-by-side but in opposite directions. We would be guided back onto lost trails by Tibetan priests directing us to follow brilliant double rainbows. Local hunters would miraculously appear out of the mists to lead us to our next destination.

About The Monks Tibetan Yoga Came From

 

Their lineage is from a recently destroyed monastery in an area of Tibet considered a "forbidden zone", even to most Buddhists. Other primary monasteries were located in the isolated Pyrenees mountains of Spain, The Jungles of the Yucatan, and the mountains of South America.

Before the destruction of their primary monastery in Tibet, they also began an experiment of "coming forward" to the public, with a smaller monastery in California. There, many North Americans joined the order. Those monks were taught by the last "head monk" of the order, who trained at the Tibetan monastery (he passed on 4/22/2002).

They continue the practices and are passing on the lineage and teachings to others, while working towards building a new primary monastery isolated in the Rocky Mountains.

I was fortunate enough to visit their monastery, and I couldn't help but be constantly reminded of a movie I'd seen called "Lost Horizon" (both an old B&W version, and a modern Technicolor version starring Peter Finch, and a host of great actors). Why was it so similar?

I believe the author of the book "Lost Horizon", either also visited, heard stories from those who had, or perhaps even had visions in his dreams. Even his name for the place, Shangri-la, was similar to the name for their monastery "Shargung-la". But most striking, just as in the movies/book, their was no "dogma" as many religions have, and their spiritual beliefs/philosophies were so simple - compassion, caring, unselfishness, kindness, harmlessness and loving one another.

As tools of spiritual growth, they used yoga, meditation, and humble, loving personal interaction/constructive criticism (like you'd use a mirror showing you what you really look like, and what needs to be changed).

I also believe one of the most important tools, is seeing other people (and life events) as "mirrors", to help us see ourselves. I thus welcome, and even ask for, constructive criticism as a tool for change, in an ongoing process of self-improvement.

The below "balcony" photo is typical of the amazing Buddhist monasteries that were once found in the thousands in Tibet. Most have been destroyed. There are no photos of Shargung la remaining after it was bombed/shelled. It was actually quite different. And explorers (from National Geographic) only came upon the isolated area of Tibet in which it was located, after its destruction. And even though it no longer stood, they too were amazed by just the fact that a sub-tropical environment, not visible by satellites even, existed amongst the high, fridgid, barren Himalayas.

Anthropologists don't understand spiritual traditions or the true history of human beings. They have a lot of misinterpretations. For example, anthropologists and archaeologists are trained to always assign a ritualistic meaning to any ancient artifact they find. The fact that there are and were people in the past more advanced than modern society is outside the realm of what anthropologists can fathom.

 

If we want the truth, we can not go to anthropologists.

If you read that conversation carefully it becomes more and more apparent that it was a real conversation that actually took place. Probably not word for word, but it is too realistic, the back and forth, how systematic it is as a real teaching. If you don't think so, i would suggest keep reading, all 300 pages, and the conversations become perfectly congruent throughout.

 

That particular chapter you reference is not about Buddhism and the CLO is not Buddhism, but rather, the chapter is about the oneness and common truth behind all religion. Rather than a New Age philosophy, what is really presented here is Age Old spiritual truths and principles. This is the original, the "common ancestor" religion of all other religions. You can't really "pull off" something like that. No one could. It has to really be what it is, or it won't be congruent.

I remember the story in the Chicago Tribune. Its 3 or 4 years old. Thing is its from an honest paper and there's no mention of people or monastery in it.

 

You presented it. I read it. I simply don't buy it, but I did the courtesy of spending some time reading it.

The article in the Chicago Tribune is from 1999, the book came out in 1998, probably began being written and printed before that.

 

What it is, is a spiritual path of complete transformation and personal cultivation, that is in a class by itself. It's not a story book. It's not "channeled". It's not new age. I would suggest you did not read it, but rather browsed through if you think the journey, conversations, principles, and practices, the emotions, and transformations, which are congruent all the way through are fiction. You can practice this school and this method and truly develop yourself, you can't practice a fictional method, it wouldn't work.

It's ok, I don't dislike reading criticism and opinions. I think for you, it might be useful to separate the idea of a lineage from Atantis, and the Tibeten Monastery in Shargung La, from the actual practices and teachings. It's understandable and Jon Peniel himself said he didn't care if anyone believed him, he only cared if people are kind and compassionate ultimately. You don't even have to practice his method as long as you are doing something that is working towards being a kinder and more caring person. Man you can get some powerful knowledge and energy from him and his methods though!

 

I am considering a thread on the topic and legend of Shangri La just itself separate from the Chlidren of the Law of One teachings actually.....

So after not really doing this system for a couple years, I've been getting back into it the last couple months. The energy the meditations, energy exercises, yoga, etc  are really powerful. Like rushing electric currents flowing and vibrating through you. In you and through you. Plus it seems to for me at least, connect or attach the energy to the will and consciousness at the same time.

 

I showed the practice and teachings to some people who did things like other meditation systems and pranic arhatic healers and they said it had many similarities in principle and practice to what they did, but were taken aback at some things, they didn't think any teachers had revealed those things publically and didn't know that anyone outside of their practices knew some of these things. So a few people from other paths who practiced for many years or decades have told me Jon Peniel has revealed some things other teachers only teach privately.

 

Looking back, now that I'm "older, wiser, and know better" lol, even I'm realizing how crazy and out there this system sounds, even to me it's hard to believe, and I practice it, but there's really something special here.
