Thunder_Gooch Posted January 14, 2013 Come back and give us a lecture on how to get rich, once you've gotten rich. Â Otherwise this does about as much good as a 500lb man telling us how to lose weight, you know while he is still 500lbs and before he's lost any weight at all.

Thunder_Gooch Posted January 14, 2013 There is no such thing as a free lunch, almost all the rich people who didn't inherit their wealth or win it, had to work for it. Â They were obsessed, and devoted their entire lives to the pursuit of wealth. Â That's what it takes bro. If you want to be rich you sell your soul for it. Â Â A girl I used to date her parents ran a moderately successful business, they installed soda machines at businesses, and split the profit with the business owners. Â They had a warehouse full of machines and soda, and employees they paid virtually nothing. Â They spent 10 hours a day, every day except Sunday working, when they weren't working, they were drinking. Â They also had a coffee delivery service where they offered professional coffee machines for businesses like gas stations etc. Â They had lots of money, but no time to really enjoy it. Â Enjoying the money wasn't the point though, it was always about making more money. Â It was the pursuit of money they enjoyed, not the money itself. Thunder_Gooch Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Sin I am not saying you can't be rich man. Â I am saying the cost to become rich may be higher than you are willing to pay. Â Anything is possible, not everything. There is no free lunch, and you can't have your cake and eat it too. Â If you want to become rich there is no doubt in my mind you can become rich, but you'll be old, and every moment of your life will have been focused on obtaining wealth, and you'll die with a ton of money. Â That's the irony of the situation. Â Life is a choice, between plenty of time and no money to enjoy it, or money and no time to enjoy it. Birch Posted January 14, 2013 I think it's quite a good summary of most of the stuff 'out there' concerning money and wealth creation. Online, seminars etc are a LOT about what Sinan has mentioned. But guess how the people running these 'wealth seminars' or writing the books or the blogs make money? Right, by getting people to sign up and pay for 'instruction' on how to create wealth and money and all that. In other words, a big old pyramid scheme. Â I'm not knocking your writeup Sinan, it was rather good, but perhaps there's more involved?

Thunder_Gooch Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) argh I hate being poor, I hate being considered useless. I hate the fact that I have just destroyed any credibility for that article.fucking shit mood ah well who cares  Sin I feel you man. I hate being poor too. I am considering a career change, but in return I'll have to give up my dreams.  It's something that is literally killing me inside, the fight between wanting more money, and pursuing my dreams in life.  The two halves of me are in a ferocious battle, and evenly matched.  To land a good paying job means the next 15 years of my life will be focused and dedicated to that end, perhaps 20.  By the time I can start working and saving I'll be nearing retirement age.  That and my dreams have gone up in smoke.  I can't tell you how much I hate my options in life right now, and how much it pisses me off I can't pursue my dreams and also be financially stable and solvent.  I get to pick one.  I don't think you are useless, I am just trying to get you to see that while it is possible to become rich, nothing is for free, and everything has a cost.  If you are willing to dedicate your life and focus like a laser on becoming wealthy I am sure you can do it, but in the end if you have no time life to enjoy your money before you die, what was the point? Birch Posted January 14, 2013 I mean real life useless not on a forum but thanks, got so much pressure to achieve which Im learning to let go but it bothers me about parents  Aha! The oldies and the pressure rear their ugly heads again:-) ? I'm not going to try to guess or suggest they just 'want the best for you' (although they likely do, but through their own lense).  I can't help much, I caved to them.
skydog Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) This article is not really about making money and absolutely hating it. The article is totally about how to find a way to make money and enjoy it. This IS the point of the article, no way do I view having money as more important than my mental health but yeh good luck in whatever you wish morepieguy . Harmonious Emptiness Posted January 15, 2013 Wealth is whatever your dreams are. To believe you can achieve "dreams" takes a faith more than that needed to be "rich," and more likely to bring timely contacts and such into your life. Â Not a useless post at all. Â It lead me to creating this one: Changing Destiny - Liao Fan's Four Lessons
Vanir Thunder Dojo Tan Posted January 16, 2013 one of my dreams is/was to own a large property and build up a self sufficient organization using only what is available on/off the land, and inviting people out to live with me and form a nice community of hippies and free thinkers... of course it'll all be pretty labor intensive, so i dunno how the elderly will be handling this dream of mine, though i do hope taijiquan and qi gong will benefit them as much as i do hope
Birch Posted January 17, 2013 So still playing around on this topic, I wandered accross a meditation for 'improving relationship with money'. The basic gist was get into calm meditative state, contemplate money and beckon all images/beings related to it to come to you. And notice feelings, emotions etc and then ask the beings what they want from you and then give it to them (visualization). Â Â I tried it and got a cow (serious), who wants me to help save/protect ecology. But I can't remember what happened after that.
GrandmasterP Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) These system sellers do pretty well for themselves by all accounts. Some of 'em for sure don't starve. Package up some stuff and flog it to seekers. Rebrand a bit of QiGong or come up with something like Course in Miracles and you're set for life, almost as good as having a number 1 record.
