Mark Saltveit Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) Hi, I have a new blog that various Bums might find interesting. I don't see a place to discuss websites though (as opposed to books.) Does anyone have a pointer? Â It's called 'Taoish -- a place for irreverent spirituality'. http://www.taoish.org The latest post is an analysis by Prof. Steve Bokenkamp (Arizona State) of the difficulties in translating the Daodejing, using a single line of chapter 10 as an illustration. http://www.realchange.org/taoish/mirror-mirrormirror/ Â Thanks! Mark Saltveit Posted January 18, 2013 Thanks! Steve's great. Years ago (1993), he wrote a famously sarcastic FAQ on Daoism that you might enjoy. http://www.realchange.org/taoish/authoritative-answers-to-questions-about-taoism/
Reed Posted January 19, 2013 “What’s the best translation of Chuang-tzu?”  So far as I know, and I may be wrong, Chuang-tzu never translated anything. He was too busy dreaming of butterflies and trying to deconstruct his own death.
XiaoZi Posted October 3, 2013 I was laughing for a long! LOL)))))  Among the works that Lao-tzu translated, his translation of the _Bhagavad Gita_, with theChinese title “Tao-te ching,” remains far and away the best. Ifyou don’t believe me, a humble scholar, just read Victor H.Mair’s translation into English of Lao-tzu’s translation intoChinese of the _Bhagavad Gita_. Basher Posted October 3, 2013 I'm waiting for the completely historically inaccurate, Hollywood Blockbuster Movie "Dow-Ker-ching"
