Owledge Posted February 23, 2013 This interview follows a familiar pattern also used by other media like Der Spiegel when interviewing speakers for Iranian interests. The host's behavior is ridiculous, not impartial or objective. He repeatedly cuts of the mentioning of very interesting and crucial details by saying "Let's keep this simple." and repeatedly tries to coax statements out of Mousavian that would strengthen the official propaganda line that Iran is in some way weak, to not expect positive outcome from negotiations, and thus is a warmongering agent. He is also bringing up very little fact, if any, but presenting vague emotions, opinions and empty rhetoric as if they were in any way empirically provable. As can be expected, he also makes frequent use of applying double standards. I could hardly stand watching the whole thing because the host acts like such a moron - very unprofessional. Maybe you can get some awareness out of watching this somewhat but not too subtle example of today's media propaganda. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IU7sqMFowo

Owledge Posted March 1, 2013 Hollywood Links to a graphic that's too small, but I found a bigger one. No news there. The usual merger and takeover thing. In the end, it will be like Democrats+Republicans. Only two left to keep up the illusion of non-monopoly. Naturally, it happens in all sectors. In the computer and video games sector, it's pretty much Electronic Arts and Activision.

Owledge Posted March 1, 2013 Activision Blizzard (Activision holding) has a severe sociopath as CEO. Probably even more than usual for CEOs of big corporations.
Owledge Posted March 1, 2013 @vortex @More_Pie_Guy Awesome selection of videos. That stuff should be on the airwaves 24/7. As I keep pointing out: Spreading of truthful information is the problem, not lack of investigation or anything. When the perpetrators of great crimes confess them and still go unpunished... that's the power of propaganda and brainwashing.
gendao Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) Hollywood's executive ranks, according to studies they are less racially diverse than the rest of corporate America. A 2010 survey of Fortune 500 companies by U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey found that 1 in 20 executives in the media and entertainment business were minorities, compared to 1 in 10 overall. And as audiences increasingly shift from print/mass media to the internet, they are now militarizing, infiltrating and controlling its content as well... fifth column, clandestine group or faction of subversive agents who attempt to undermine a nation’s solidarity by any means at their disposal. Yes, there are actually shills getting trained and PAID by the STATE to politically troll the net and tirelessly enforce their party line now! What a great way to spend our taxes when we're $16.5 trillion in debt! The US military is developing software that will allow it to secretly manipulate social media sites by using fake online personas to influence internet conversations and spread pro-American propaganda. The CENTCOM contract stipulates that each fake online persona must have a convincing background, history and supporting details Israel may be the first country to launch a propaganda war using Facebook and Twitter. And the lieutenant running this virtual smackdown is a 26-year-old snowboarder named Sacha Dratwa, a Belgian immigrant who leads a team of social media soldiers. According to Tablet magazine, for the past two years Dratwa has been in charge of the Israeli Defense Forces' "YouTube and Facebook presence and turned it into the most globally visible arm of the Israeli military." I am writing here to come out of the closet as a paid shill. For a little over six months, I was paid to spread disinformation and argue political points on the Internet. “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. ...In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons...who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind.” - Edward L. Bernays, Propaganda Edited March 2, 2013 by vortex
