Sexual chi-kung instructional video project

It's been suggested to me to create some sexual chi-kung instructional videos, and in thinking it over I'd be much more interested in that project if some of the experienced guys here would join in the project.

 

I imagine putting up some introductory shorter videos on youtube, having longer ones available on a group website for a monthly subscription, and perhaps having more in depth DVD sets sold. Contributors for the videos would also post on the group blog/website.

 

We would share the efforts and profits. Some videos would be in the format of two of the teachers chatting to each other over skype, and we'd hire a video editor to splice together the images, and to edit and cut to diagrams and other content. Some vids and blog posts would be in the interview format.

 

I'm interested in also showing some practically applied chi-kung sexual practices for the paid DVD sets

I'm going to include real sex with commentary and annotation as part of my contribution to the DVD sets. Others are free to contribute the same. But that's not necessary and not primarily what I'm looking for.

I'm not really looking for tips. I'm looking for people to contribute to a video series of instruction that will entail interviews, chats, and talking to the camera. I'm trying to find people who are confident that they have something important to contribute that comes from regular personal experience who can help to teach others these valuable and little known esoteric practices. While the videos might include some general energetic practices that are done alone, the subject matter will be leading to very strong energetic practices that happen during sex, therefore I need people who can speak from experience about the latter.

 

Surely I'm not the only guy in the world who practices such things.

I'm sorry xplat, but all i know is intrinsic, not schooling.


I may very well have achieved a mastery of sexual practice in the short time i spent with my (ex) fiance. i dont know, and i havent concerned myself with the topic enough to care.


The only contribution i could offer is to breathe. to coordinate your motions with your breath, and to tune your awareness inward to the inner-workings of your body during intercourse.


Everyone i have been with has had terribly low energy levels and i have essentially signed off the practice all together.

I wont pick it up again; it(/she) will have to find me instead.

I guess it might help for you to say more about your goals and your idea.

 

Do you feel that you have material that is not already being published/taught by others? Or do you feel that you have an idea for presenting the material that is different / novel / innovative and that will help people learn the material more easily?

 

I haven't seen a shortage of instructional information. I learned a bunch of stuff from: classes, books, and a few DVDs. To be fair, none had any naked people in them. What materials do you want to teach? specifically? ie which techniques and from which teachers/schools/lineages? For example: male / female deer exercise? testicle massage? ovarian / breast massage?

 

I haven't taught Taoist sexual practices in quite a while, although I actively teach non-Taoist/non-Tantra sexuality and sensuality classes. With regard to Taoist sexual techniques I've answered dozens and dozens of questions in online forums. Its been a less than inspiring experience, and as the years pass I feel I understand more and more why the sexual techniques were mostly kept secret.

 

While there aren't great books out there, I tell people who are interested to either read Mantak Chia's original books (Healing Love through the Tao and Taoist Secrets of Love), or Bruce Frantzis' new book Taoist Sexual Meditation. All of Mantak Chia's information is available through classes from many instructors and DVDs from at least two sources, and Bruce Frantzis seems to release instructional material quite frequently.

 

From what I've seen on various internet forums, most people are at the level where they are very happy with entry level material like Jolan Chang's that don't actually teach many energy techniques, but talk about the overall theory, and 'set and setting' and noticing and feeling your partner.

Not the only worth while pt of view, but one ...

 

imo, (as far as I'm aware) there are no responsible treatments (in audio/book/video) of jing gong popularly available. In order to responsibly present the subject, imo, you'd need 3 serious levels of presentation:

 

1. Healing Jing Gong

This would explain typical disharmonies and their treatment principles. A doctor of Chinese medicine would need to write this. It's basically, "what are the basic illnesses that occur, why, and how to treat?". Without a knowledge of this, there is no basis for "first, do no harm". And there is no basis for helping people who really need healing.

 

2. Healthy Jing Gong

This would address theory and method for someone who is basically healthy. You'd have to know #1, above, so you don't hurt yourself. This is a normal lifestyle, nothing extraordinary.

 

3. Advanced Jing Gong

This is where the more extraordinary stuff happens. Tissues and channels must be open, with knowledge and skill to manage same. The topic of semen retention wouldn't even occur until this category.

 

The physical and psychological forces involved in sexuality are formidable and most people who start to get involved in sexual practices have no idea what they are getting into... and I would say that most products sold along this line are abysmally short of a responsible presentation. Too many people are getting hurt. And maybe for their time, the already-existing products were the best steps that could be made. But, culturally, in this area... the next step/s are works of quality of a level that has not been popularly seen before. The topic is ready for it.

 

Part of this is the amount of progress Chinese medicine has made in the west in the last several decades. More schools with better source material available. In the west there's a trend for more and more Taoist teachers (and students) to be doctors of Chinese medicine, and that's a good thing!

 

One of the points of view is, "what a wreck it is out there re: sexual teachings". If you haven't seen through all of that, and it's rampant, then... I would caution people from creating a video presentation that is a rehash of what already exists.

 

Again, to bracket, all this isn't "the only pt of view" but is one (harsh) pt of view worth considering.

 

One of the definitions of a "sifu" is that such a teacher must have 3 requisite areas of accomplishment:

1. be a doctor

2. internal martial art

3. wisdom

 

In the west, we are culturally playing "catch up" to assimilate some of the eastern teachings in a quality, deep, rich, well rounded way. It takes a while, and many people are doing what they can.

A related thought on state-of-the-art in current pop-Taoism. I think that most students who are studying the popularly available sexual products, and practicing, do not have a clear enough understanding to know whether they are benefiting or hurting themselves.
