RomeoGunn Posted February 6, 2007 Hi, I found this forum through some random endeavour but I've always been quite interested in taoism and especially in the Tao teh Ching. I've recently begun reading the Chuang Tzu but I'm actually really looking for some advice or some slight direction as to what I can do to help in practicing meditation. Any help would be grealy appreciated, thanks.
sean Posted February 7, 2007 Hey there, welcome. Do you have any experience with meditation RomeoGunn? There are a lot of different approaches tailored to different kinds of minds and bodies, so what works varies by person and also over time even for a single person. Are you drawn to explore a particular type of meditation at this point in your life?
RomeoGunn Posted February 7, 2007 Aside from just trying to dabble in things on my own I've only ever really been taught Mokuso which is not really what I'm looking for at this moment. Although I am more interested in learning meditation to clear my mind and remove anxiety I'm currently more interested in meditation to increase my sensitivity to the outside world or or to increase my self-awareness. Thank you very much for your reply
Trunk Posted February 7, 2007 A good foundation meditation is to follow your breath with your attention (link).

sean Posted February 8, 2007 I really recommend True Meditation, I think it's a great introduction to meditation, I wish I listened to it 10 years ago. I've also gotten a lot out of the material at www.aypsite.org. Â Sean
