nine tailed fox Posted March 9, 2013 Hello friends check out this system http://www.pmemory.com it is the real deal, i can assure you that it is a 60 days course but you need to spend at least 3-4 hours everyday in one sitting its available online for free if you wanna check this out (you know how to get it for free i know many people who personally has completed this system and can memorize entire books so the effectiveness of the system is not the problem its something else do you think developing this phenominal memory can hinder your spiritual progress ? this system also uses the technique where you associate images to the content you wanna memorize but it is causing many doubts in my mind what if the person develops a habit to associate everything he sees in life to some image ? what if it makes the mind more busy and full of things instead of empty our mind is already very busy so the bottom line is do you think this system can cause problems in your spiritual progress ? can this hinder your progress ? because as a spiritual person you aim to stable and empty your mind but who knows what will be your new mind like after completing this course many people have recorded many changes in their lives besides memory

Seeker of Wisdom Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) It shouldn't cause any problems, looks like it just teaches you to take advantage of how memory works. You won't develop habits to always associate things with images and fill the mind with junk because memory techniques like these are used consciously. They just don't work on automatic. If you want to improve your memory, go for it. Edited March 10, 2013 by Seeker of the Self

Ish Posted March 14, 2013 Just don't get stuck in your head. I think it's a shame when people go far to much into the intellect and get stuck there. There's also the other side of the coin and you get trapped in a dullness. Both should be avoided. Like the others have said it's probably OK just have some awareness if you feel like you're getting stuck in it.
Birch Posted March 15, 2013 There might be aspects of the techniques that you could learn and apply to yourself as you wish. Some of the associative stuff sounds like it might be useful for reconditiong yourself but it might be worth using it to find out what's there to start with before adding more furniture. Would it help you understand yourself and others better? Would it improve thinking skills (as in, could you use it to learn to think in directions other than the ones propulsed by the linear language we use?) It might do. A lot of practices do involve spatial thinking and visualization.
Stosh Posted March 19, 2013 Skills give you options , but they ,like all traits ,are double edged , folks forget to move-on not to dwell No one gets to be perfect for every situation so there is little basis to tell you which you should choose if you even must choose But since you really can only hold one idea foremost in your mind at a time (they just jump in and out, time sharing ) ..What difference would it make how many things were in abeyance?
